The older I get the harder it becomes to suspend my disbelief and ignore the fact that I'm watching 2 guys fake fight and none of it is actually real. Am I growing out of wrestling?
If you are over 14, you shouldn't be watching wrestling. Unless you like gay porn. Like me.
>>16293768If that's how you look at it then maybe. I knew it was fake ever since I started watching as a kid and pretty much became and stayed a fan of it in spite of that fact. Not because I ever tried to mask it. I guess it depends on which side of that fence you fall on. Have you grown out of every other movie and tv show and sport you found out wasn't real too?
>>16293781In a way. I grew out of many superhero comics when I learned the difference between good writing and bad writing. It's like when you're a kid and you like all pizza because it's pizza. But then you're an adult and you've had enough pizza to have opinions and favorite spots and shit.
>>16293768I like to figure out how they're protecting each other. Which is funny because my favorite of all time is Stan Hansen and his promos were more violent than most people's matches.
>>16293768I've never needed to suspend my disbelief, I just watch it like any other fight scene from a movie, and not wanting to see injuries during a stupid bump adds some stakes too
>>16293768I wish I never learnt any insider stuff and just watched it as a show. the idea of a 'hard camera' alone kills all reality.
>>16293819Huh. That's interesting. The older I've gotten I've found the things I liked as a kid but outgrew or stopped liking because I was so worried about what was cool or what other people might think about them were awesome and that younger me was right all along. Pizza's awesome too. Local actually good places, trashy chain pizza, frozen pizza. It's all got its place and is its own thing and can hit the spot at the right time
>>16293768You're just midwitting out. Get smarter or get stupider. The midwit life is no life at all.
>>16293920Frozen pizza is abominable
>>16293768After a certain age, if you don’t give it up over how inherently ridiculous everything is if you give it even the minimum of thought, you start to enjoy wrestling for the athletic ability of the performers and the voyeuristic thrill of analyzing / shitting on the booking and backstage drama. Even so, wrestling is definitely best in small doses, as it is very easy to get burned out.
