She's a funny case because she was a product of the "women's revolution" era in WWE where they gaslit everyone into thinking that sloppy botch machines like Sasha Banks were every bit as good as the male workers, if not even better. She was a symbol of that previous era of WWE women's wrestling and then she comes to AEW and she's visually working on the same level as Britt Baker who is considered by most to be a bad worker even by AEW women's standards. I've never seen the illusion shattered so hard on a wrestler as with Mercedes.Her presence inadvertently puts over the company by being worse than the homegrowns because she was touted as an example of better women's wrestling than the entire AEW division for so many years. She jumps over to AEW and she's clearly not better than some of their pet projects and WWE has already moved on from her.
