AEW head honcho Tony Khan isn’t shy about saying what many wrestling fans already believe: AEW is where the best talent thrives. And now, the company is spotlighting Black wrestlers in a big way.

Since AEW’s launch in 2019, it’s become a wrestling powerhouse with a stacked roster, but recent months have seen a significant rise in Black talent reaching new levels of success. Case in point: Swerve Strickland making history as AEW’s first Black world champion at AEW Dynasty and The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin) dominating as one of the most formidable groups in the business.

During a recent chat with CHGO Sports, Khan was asked about AEW’s intentional push for diversity, especially the rise of stars like Strickland, The Hurt Syndicate, and Ricochet. Was it a conscious decision or just about raw talent?

Khan didn’t miss a beat, saying, “I think you just said it. I’m conscious of it, but I also think that these are some of the best wrestlers in AEW you just named. So we’re really lucky to have those great stars.”

Tony emphasized that while awareness plays a role, the primary focus is always on talent. “We’ve been fortunate to be able to build up some great stars and also have a lot of great free agents come in to where I think so many of the top wrestlers, some of the top Black wrestlers in the world are in AEW, and I really think most of the top Black wrestlers in the world are now in AEW. But I think that is a conscious thing, but I also think it’s great,” Khan added.

With AEW’s reputation as a stage for top-tier wrestling talent, Khan’s remarks only cement the company’s commitment to showcasing a diverse range of athletes who bring unmatched skill to the ring.

I mean yeah? Haitch fired them all lmao.

But aye Swerve and Bobbo are probably the only 2 that matter nowadays. I would say Moose used to matter but he's wasted his last 5 year.
>>
I'm sorta sick and tired of interviewers not asking people to cite their sources.
>>
>>16301088
I'm a bit sick of interviewers asking softball questions.
>>
>ackshully we have trick williams
>>
>>16301071
wow that'll really make people watch gAyEW I guess
>>
>>16301071
LMFAO what was this interview?
>Tony Khan isn’t shy about saying what many wrestling fans already believe: AEW is where the best talent thrives.
>Since AEW’s launch in 2019, it’s become a wrestling powerhouse
>“We’ve been fortunate to be able to build up some great stars"
>With AEW’s reputation as a stage for top-tier wrestling talent
lol
>Swerve Strickland making history as AEW’s first Black world champion at AEW Dynasty
The term "making history" has lost its meaning completely it seems
>The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin) dominating as one of the most formidable groups in the business.
>Bootlegging The Hurt Business in big 2024
>>
The only active black wrestler in the entire business with any kind of popularity is Trick Williams
>>
>>16301179
you're forgetting the Coderster, amigo
>>
>>16301171
I shoot hate how AEW is just an Exfed retirement home now. The last 2 years has been ridiculous.
>>
>>16301084
>Haitch fired them all lmao.
Lashley and MVP chose not to re-sign with WWE
>>
>>16301212
>The last 2 years has been ridiculous
In the last 2 years WWE has signed up more names coming from AEW than AEW has coming from WWE
From AEW to WWE
>Jade
>Ethan Page
>Shawn Spears
>Pillman Jr
>CM Punk
>Andrade
>Stephanie Vaquer
>Gallows
>Anderson
From WWE to AEW
>Edge
>MVP
>Shelton
>Lashley
>Saraya
>Ricochet
>Mercedes
>>
>>16301272
Stephanie was never an AEW roster member you envious troon. And gallows, Anderson, punk, Andrade, and spears are all originally from wwe. Fucking lying deceitful little Kamala worshipping troon
>>
>>16301272
wow you really are retarded
>>
>>16301322
illiterate and ignoring facts. can only wonder where your values lie
>>
>>16301322
>gallows, Anderson, punk, Andrade, and spears are all originally from wwe
Like that means anything. They were signed to an AEW contract and worked in AEW. Also saying any of those names apart from Gallows are "originally from WWE" says you don't know fuck about shit
>>
>>16301355
wow you really are gotten to over information that doesn't confirm your bias
>>
>>16301322
Lmao this piggytranny is SIZZLING
>>
>>16301322
>Stephanie was never an AEW roster member
So which is it dronie? Did WWE steal her from AEW as an epic own over Tony or not?

Hell of a thumbnail kek. Just checked the video though. Saw Mark Briscoe and immediately closed it. They have zero clue who or what they're talking about
>>
>>16301071
Lashley is good but I hope the others don´t get pushed too much. Tired of diversity(Lashley doesn´t count he´s honorary).
>>
>>16301071
>just about RAW talent
lmao
>>
>>16301071
to be adonis he is almost right but not quite there
>>
>>16301071
Kek Cryan keeps attracting blacks near him
>>
>>16301212
I remember that YouTube video that was posted here called "Top 500 ex-WWE wrestlers in AEW" and they've added at least 10 more since
>>
>>16301071
why are americans so obsessed with niggers?
>>
>>16301947
Because they taught us how to season our food

now they season your daughters

All they need now is Kofi.
>>
>>16301212
serves you right
afterall, one of the founders was also ex-wwe and he left back to wwe kek
>>
>>16301071
Kek remember when the AEW cult would proudly boast that they were the white man's wrestling show and call the WWE fans shit like E-gros. Literally everything blows up in their faces
>>
>>16301446
WWE stole her from AAA before Tony was able to sign her
>>
>>16301171
100% if swerve didn’t constantly go on twitter talking about being the first black champ Tony would never give him a belt.
>>
>>16301272
I think it's a fair trade so far. Jade, Ethan, and Pillman will actually grow in NXT with proper guidance while guys like The Hurt Syndicate can make a solid, steady faction for AEW to have as regulars on the card and can be slotted in various title scenes like trios, tag, and the dozen midcard belts Tony made.
>>
>>16302962
So that's a no
>>
im not sure collecting black people like they're pokemon and bragging about it is some sort of victory for racial equality
remember when we wanted people to be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character?
and before some tard comes in about pigs and drones - it's a problem bigger than wrestling
>>
>>16303026
Oh I don't disagree at all. It's fairly level back and forth. You've got peak guys like Edge and Punk. Big women's names like Mercedes and Jade. Overall I'd say it's worked out for both sides. My point was just that this narrative of AEW still being a place that just collects all of WWE's trash hasn't been true since like 2021
>>
>>16301071
Diversity is the strength that draws 3k maximum crowds and 500k viewers.

Punk's still in WWE. I've saying "you've got" as in people who are involved in the overall exchange of names. Unless I'm missing the point of what you're saying
>>
Wonder how the guy who gave him a USB feels about this.
>>
>>16301084
Swerve sucks.
>>
>>16303366
n/m then it sounded like you were saying he was still in the gayew
>>
cody is in wwe
>>
>>16303378
Nah you're good. Not everything has to be dunk on AEW man. Was talking about the good of things for both places
>>
>>16303428
Yea man, edge is doing great in AEW...
>>
>>16303431
It's been over a year. Try to move on to the forgiveness stage of your grief over him leaving
>>

>>
>>16303464
Your first champ is dead
>>
>>16303452
this, you can move on and get over him if his old fanbase got over him like they did kek
>>

>AEW’s intentional push for diversity
>Swerve Strickland making history as AEW’s first Black world champion
>no mexican world champ

where is the diversity?
>>
>>16303542
Only Black Lives Matter
>>
>>16303542
only blacks matter
>>
>>16303567
>>16303569
i know its just funny to hear.
>muh Black world champ
when its obvious to anyone that watches wrestling no other ethnic group has ever been world champion. tony sounds like a virtue signaling plantation owner
>>
>>16303542
only matter
>>
>>16303598
>look we promote the absolute worst ethnic group in the world we are the good guys
Why are Americans like this?
>>
>>16301071
AEW is not for people like me.
>>

American diversity is black men
>>
>>16301071
>Wrestlers
add it to the list
>>
>>16301219
Because they were lowballed ya mark
>>
>>16301272
In the last 2 years, AEW has pushed more Exfed guys than original guys. Simple as.
>>
>>16301212
Nice headcanon
>>
>>16301071
wow
>>
>>16301947
Because they thought a few hundred years ago that it would be a good idea to import hundreds of thousands of illiterate barely human jungle creatures and not think about how that might come back to bite them in the future.
>>
>>16301071
>>16301071
>>16301071
This isn’t news. Vince only ever hired the top black Bottoms.
>>
>>16307645
americans live off of other races doing the work they can’t do themselves

watching trump erect a legitimate border is going to be the funniest when americans realize there is noone left to do any of their own work

Americans built the world's most successful country. Stop falling for jew propaganda that Americans can't work
