AEW has gone away from what made it the alternative to WWE. When they were cooking on all cylinders it was cause their home grown talent was cooking and they had Punk come in. Since then, they have signed a few WWE free agents and pushed out the staples who got over. The Dark Order went missing, Darby Allin went missing, Omega got injured, the Bucks got boring, Okada started doing stupid stuff with the Bucks. Over the last six months the Bucks had X-PAC heat. Every time they were on TV all I wanted to do was change the channel. Their promos were boring, their characters half assed.

The ratings still aren't the most concerning thing...it's the majorly empty arenas and crowds that sound like they're held there at gunpoint. I love AEW. I want it to succeed long term and it’s already given me some of my favourite memories as a wrestling fan.

Yesterday go home show really highlighted how cold they are at the moment, crowd didn’t react to anything. The MJF Cole feud for example is the epitome of everything wrong with AEW: crowd doesn’t care, babyface Undisputed Kingdom has been completely rejected by the crowd, MJF never showed up and reverted to his 2019 character schtick (making opponents fight through hoops to have a match with him and cringy cheap heat insults). With all of that, they are stil going with the feud and they are even stretching it by having Max face Roddy first.

Would also like to point out how bad their women division is at the moment: the Stat Mercedes feud has been atrocious (they treated Kris getting almost by a car like a joke) meanwhile the world champion is too busy shaking her tits with Mina to even have a PPV match.

About a year ago, I remember some people in the business talking about AEW going down the WCW route. Unfortunately it turned out to be mostly true. Signing old, over the hill former WWE wrestlers isn’t paying dividends along with poor bookings and a resurgent WWE.

A gigantic roster and yet it just feels like we're never moving towards anything. Start and stop storyline, no cohesion, the camera work has improved but they still miss spots, interference keeps happening directly in front of refs and commentary has to stumble to either cover for it or awkwardly gloss over it like it didn't happen, and overall just this general feel that it's a bunch of guys going in front of Tony like "hey I have this cool idea" and he lets them do it but doesn't book them into any kind of real angle just gives them a push for a bit and then they disappear

They need a real booker, or even a team, and not Tony. He is stretched too thin and is becoming what people hated about Vince, controlling every aspect of the show to the point where you feel like it's to please him and not the audience

I think the divisions REALLY need to be overhauled.

They've become too fluid and there isn't a clear dividing line between who's challenging for what title. There very much needs to be clear lines drawn between who the main eventers / upper mid carders are. If everyone's "special," then no one is.

Also, storylines are all over the place. There's too many "side quests" going on and the main story is getting lost in the sauce. Case and point, after QT's match on saturday, Deathriders need to come out and stomp out almost all parties involved [leave Rizzler alone].

They [Deathriders] need to be THE dominating faction in aew right now. Their stable needs to have threats in each division. So they need to be seen "scouting" people in each said division.

This is what made og nWo such a hot angle. In that, you never knew what was going to turn on wcw. They [nWo] had threats in ever division and pretty much had all the gold at one point. That's the type of threat Deathriders need to be towards aew.

This is important. A lot of AEW's suge came from disaffected WWE fans. You can probably track AEW's decline with Vince getting the boot the first time and secondly him getting booted the second time.
