The Boom guys are unironically Tony's best hire outside of CM Punk. AJ's match is posted everywhere online. Great marketing for AEW
>>
>>16332527
I thought it was kinda dumb when I heard about it but they killed it
>>
>>16332527
>Great marketing for AEW
Except it isn't. AJ's match is great marketing for AJ but it does fucking nothing for AEW. Tony basically paid social media stars to come in and build their own social media brand while receiving nothing in return.
>>
>umm aew is a huge financial success even though no one knows the details of it's tv deals except me, the guy who constantly falls for hoaxes
>>
>>16332618
It's called exposure ya fat nerd. AJ hyped up AEW to his millions of followers on social media. It's a great marketing move, you're just far to stupid to understand it.
>>
>>16332656
there's a reason "paid in exposure" is a meme. it's a con to get retarded marks to work for free
>>
>>16332666
When you run a business you spend money to advertise and expand your brand ya dingus. Stop posting until you acquire a third digit of IQ please.
>>
>>16332527
and you'll still get like 650~k viewers and 2k ticket sales for tv kek
>>
>>16332666
This nigger would have complained about bringing in Tyson for Mania lmfao
>>
>>16332527
When some meme guy with a harem of obese meatball kids does a better job advertising and marketing the company you created there's something wrong there
>>
>>16333633
difference is wwe was actually watchable and enjoyed by millions and sold many tickets to willing purchasers
people will get advertised the gayew product and then give it a try to only find out that most if not all of it is shit that's hardcarried by sheldon and they'll change the channel
>>
>>16332527
Oh look, QT Marshall with another clutch business move and many dimes drawn. Now back to Tony's flippin' midgets and every segment involving a run-in and fight off.
>>
>>16333656
my iq is actually too high to find wwe watchable

you must be too smart to watch gayew too kek 329k
>>
>>16333656
WWF was absolutely in the dumpster in early 1998
>>
>>16332527
>The Boom guys are unironically Tony's best hire outside of CM Pun
I'll start by saying this: I don't watch any of Tony's retarded slop live, I watch Dynamite on delay whenever I have time, sometimes I don't because it's fucking Dynamite, nothing of value is lost. Now with that said, when I watched the segment of AJ, I obviously had no what the fuck I was looking at, I have never used TikTok so I had no clue who the guy was, but he was energetic enough to make me remember the "Boom" catchphrase and make me interested, in fact, his catchphrase kept popping in my head from time to time, and this is was unironically the first time I have been interested in anything AEW in over 3 years.
>>
>>16333711
i was not wrong about it being watched by millions that year
it had even viable competition in the form of wcw until wcw wanted to be the precursor to gayew
gayew is not viable competition and wwe is less today than it was in 1998
it has the benefit of not being in gayew's position though, with its pretentious "viewers" who think they're too "smart" to watch wweslop but they can't even watch their own show either so it's kind of like a self-own for them to even comment like that
they are the /pw/ equivalent of a /v/ autist, a guy who talks about liking a game series and doesn't even play it
might as well talk about street fighter 3 or garou motw
>>
>>16332656
>exposure
Pffft ahahahahaha. AJ's millions of followers on social media aren't interested in watching him outside of social media. If AJ has a match or a segment in AEW then they'll just wait for a clip to be uploaded to Tiktok, Youtube, or Twitter. They aren't turning their TVs to Dynamite or Collision and they aren't buying PPVs.
>It's a great marketing move
Yes, like I said, it's a great marketing move for AJ. But it does absolutely nothing for AEW.

>>16333633
>This nigger would have complained about bringing in Tyson for Mania lmfao
Social media didn't exist when Tyson appeared in AEW. It worked to get eyes on WWF because Tyson fans were willing to watch him on TV. Unlike Costco guy fans, who are unwilling to watch him on TV. You'd understand social media fans don't translate to other mediums if you had more than two braincells.
>>
>>16333736
>i was not wrong about it being watched by millions that year

Yeah and the 1st episode of Friends that year 23 milly viewers, what's your point?

>Street Fighter 3

the best one?
>>
>>16333746
>Yeah and the 1st episode of Friends that year 23 milly viewers, what's your point?
wwe's highest rating wasn't even half that outside the 80s main event, so just because it wasn't 23 milly means it was in the dumpster even at its peak amirite
this is like a kof vs sf argument
>BUT SF ISN'T DOING MINECRAFT OR ROBLOX NUMBERS
yeah and kof still doin 9k sales anyway so lmao

the point is you can do all the adverts via celebs or ecelebs for gayew all you want, but gayew is the product that defeats itself and badly because not even its own fanbase can be compelled to watch it, but you want to make some kind of point that it's not being watched as much as friends' first episode so there's some kind of bad inequalities transitive properties attempt at logic here that's pointless to even observe

>the best one?
30 seconds

e-drone can't read, fucking shocker.

They're better than CM Punk. Whatever his name is just wrestled a full one on one standard singles match. Something CM Punk has failed to do during the entire year he's been back in WWE

kek imagine getting this mindbroken over pointing out how aew is just nothing in general and will amount to nothing despite an eceleb and his quarter pounder hours kid showing up to it for some exposure points

So you've spent most of the last decade squealing over "nothing"?

WWE revisionism at its finest is the idea it was ever realistically close to going out of business against the evil WCW.

It's brand exposure. Many of the Costco guys fans have never heard of AEW. And the Fox News viewers and Tonight Show and wherever else they promoted the PPV. Has AEW ever been mentioned on the Tonight Show before? Wrestling viewers are not a static audience. One leaves after two years and a new one comes in lead by social media, you just see it as one in the ratings. Now they could run a Superbowl ad and it would only help so much, but over time more people learn that wrestling isn't just WWE.

>It's brand exposure.
Nope. Everybody who pays any attention to wrestling in the year 2024 is already aware that AEW exists. Costco man's audience is aware that AEW exists. Millions and millions of people know AEW is a thing, just look at the insane social media views Orange Cassidy used to get. AEW is known by countless people. But the thing is, barely anyone wants to watch it. That's why brand exposure stunts never work for it. Shaq didn't work. Snoop didn't work. Tyson didn't work. Action Bronson didn't work. Tony's neck brace at the NFL draft didn't work. Costco meme guys won't work. All this does is expose AEW to people who've already been exposed to it and decided "this shit's not for me". And if anyone isn't aware of AEW by now, then it means they aren't interested in pro wrestling and they aren't going to start watching it. There's no magical audience of millions that Tony can reach and convert into AEW fans if he books the right celebrity. It doesn't exist.

Can't be as "awakening" as Smackdown's were on FOX & USA
