There's no rule that says you have to be male to play on an NBA team. The reason the league is exclusively male is that there are no women who are good enough at basketball to play against men. That's why they have their own league. So female athletes can have competitive games against each other. And women have been Intercontinental Champion before as well. They technically could compete for the men's belts, but if we're to suspend our disbelief and see these as real contests, women cannot, as a rule, be beating men. I'm sure there are some exceptions to that, like if they have Rhea vs Dominik I think everyone would be happy to see Rhea win, but generally it's not something that can happen. But I still want to see women's wrestling. Hence, women's championships.
