Guys like Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe, etc were originally never meant to be on the main roster, they were supposed to be permanent NXT main eventers (and backstage trainers) that would be gatekeepers for younger guys on their way to the main roster. Then Roode and Joe sold a ton of merch and got called up anyway, and Vince had no clue what to do with them on Raw and Smackdown.

The weirdest run to me is always going to be Sylvester Terkay. He came in, was around for like 6 months with a Goldberg push and then was released. Outside of like 1 or 2 dark matches I don't think he ever actually lost.

My timeline might be fucked up, but didn't he return to TNA in shape and had a great Texas Death match with James Storm. Or was that before he left? I also remember him having a blindfold match with him at a Lockdown PPV where the blindfold/bag kept falling off of both guys.
