Seriously, what was he thinking when he did this?
>>
did what?
>>
>>16446974
Stand on the rampway and put his hands on his hips while sighing.

do you think he looked in the mirror and thought "yep, I'm gonna make it. I'm gonna be a star"

The weight is his fault but he claims that Jamie Noble, who was his agent for the match, fucked him over. He said Noble gutted the match and he couldn’t do anything cool which is why he threw like 40 clotheslines.

People nowadays don't know who Chris Harris is but when this happened it was such a KWAB moment. Chris Harris was a TNA guy that actually had some name value, then he showed up in WWE as a fat slob, embarrassed himself and got fired within the month in one of the worst runs of all time

Is there a modern day wrestling equivalent to Braden Walker?

Rightfully so.
Dude was shredded as Chris Harris, got a sniff at his dream job and instantly stopped taking care of himself.
He's like every nigga that signs with AEW, he wanted to take the money and the fame and put in no work.
Now he's a fucking joke forever.

It also led to a hilarious Bryan and Vinny segment where Bryan Alvarez says that Chris Harris looked like a dumb fat cow

Yeah I sometimes think about this when I think of Chris Harris, which is a bit because I rewatch early TNA a lot because it's quite comfy. Braden Walker has definitely overshadowed his former career in that now he's just remembered as a fat failure who embarrassed himself in WWE. But for years, Chris Harris was the star of AMW while James Storn was seen as the jannetty.

Granted, James Storm's career is the same sorry state given the guy is in his late 40s and still grinding out the indies for a paycheck so I guess you can argue both guys failed

Storm had a chance and walked away from it because he didn't want to be on the road or some shit.
>>
>>16447737
>>16447779
Bobby Roode also fizzled out in WWE
>>
>>16447788
He's a top backstage guy now at least
>>
>>16447767
Jesus, I completely forgot about EC3, which kind of proves your point.

I still don't understand what went wrong with his WWE run, he was Vince's perfect wrestler, a jacked chad that could cut sports entertainment promos, so he turned him into a mute with zero character, jobbed him out repeatedly then fired him in what has to have been an extended humiliation ritual

It broke his brain too given the last few years of his career
>>
>>16447788
It certainly didn't help he was 40 when he debuted in NXT, and even older by the time he was on the main roster. Guys like Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe, etc were originally never meant to be on the main roster, they were supposed to be permanent NXT main eventers (and backstage trainers) that would be gatekeepers for younger guys on their way to the main roster. Then Roode and Joe sold a ton of merch and got called up anyway, and Vince had no clue what to do with them on Raw and Smackdown.
>>
>>16447082
Did he also tell him to stand on the ramp with his hands on his hips looking bored?
>>
>>16447939
>What went wrong?
Dean
>>
>>16447788
Roode was old, had a solid midcard run and then fucked his neck up into retirement.
>>
>>16447939
Derek bateman is dogshit retard
>>
>>16448428
He's medically cleared, he just said he doesn't want to return to the ring. He's satisfied with his career
>>
>>16447939
>It broke his brain too given the last few years of his career
I remember him doing an interview with a smaller non-wrestling podcast I listen to to promote CYN and the whole thing was really weird and awkward. They said afterwards that he was having like a shoot mental breakdown before going on air. Also he was really sweaty and left giant sweat stains on their couch. I think it's a combination of roids, concussions and then failing his big shot, it completely broke him.
>>
>>16448449
Well if you think about it this way, he got his shot in the WWE, failed miserably, went back to the grind in TNA, reinvented himself and became the hottest free agent in wrestling at a point, then when WWE hired him back it was for an extended humiliation ritual. Like, by the time they fired him no one gave a shit about EC3 anymore. I can see why it broke his mind
>>
>>16447509
He actually returned like last year in some novelty match reunited AMW and he looked like he was on the verge of death within seconds.
>>
>>16447939
The dude is not ok in the head. He definitely pitched ideas in WWE and they quickly realised he was shoot insane and decided to cut their losses. EC3 thinks American psycho is a movie about a cool guy and has openly said that Patrick Bateman is his role model. Take into account that his first wrestling name was Derrick Bateman.
>>
>>16447998
He actually was in the original NXT, he returned when he was 40
>>
>>16448563
He was in OVW you mean.
>>
>>16447345
Whatever else you might say about her, Jade has the GOAT muscle babe look.
>>
>>16447579
I giggled the whole way through it anon. You're a good person, have a nice day
>>
>>16447788
Nah he was on main for a couple years, made a shit ton of merch money then got a backstage role. Also those NXT titles were a bigger deal than the US Title or tag belts back then.
>>
Jade is just a modern day Brakkus or Nathan Jones

The weirdest run to me is always going to be Sylvester Terkay. He came in, was around for like 6 months with a Goldberg push and then was released. Outside of like 1 or 2 dark matches I don't think he ever actually lost.

The truth
>>
>>16448846
And nothing else. Also she looks like a man with a ten inch dick
>>
>>16447779
>HHH is interested in signing him to NXT
>TNA for some reason offers Storm a shit ton of money
>HHH tells him that they can’t guarantee that money off the bat and to do what’s best for him and contact him down the road
>Storm signs with TNA. Eventually leaves. HHH ghosts him.
Seeing how HHH thinks now with the whole “grind” thing, he probably washed his hands of Storm the moment he told him about the TNA offer.
>>
Was his gimmick just to smart for modern audiences?
>>
>>16448474
I think he has mentioned Paul has something personally against him, he's just one of those guys Paul hates for reasons that only make sense in Paul's head

Unironic PDS
>>16449814
He didn't like being on the road and left on good terms because his bodyguard gimmick was going nowhere iirc

i remeber TNA tried to present this fucker as a big deal a few months/a year before and id never heard of him, but he looked like a fat bret hart cosplayer.

Lee is a much better fit than Parker, as he was actually a hot prospect at one point. But the red flags on both guys were extensive. Much more so than Harris. Tony never would've signed them had he not been a complete moron.
>>
>>16449503
>>16449855
I figured Ahmed Johnson's the better comparison.
>>
>>16447779
According to Storm himself, at the time TNA offered him a bigger deal than NXT, so he decided to stay in TNA because he needed the money for his family. I wonder if he regrets it though because Eli Drake took a paycut too and look at him now
>>
>>16447788
I thought he got hurt? I also thought dirty dawgs were cool.
>>
>>16447125
kek I was so pissed that America's Most Wanted ended so he could go to WWE and embarrass himself. we got Beer Money out of it tho so nbd
>>
>>16446948
Was this a humiliation ritual?
>>
>>16450968
Those didn't exist back then
>>
>>16450499
I always thought Chris Harris was the Michaels of AMW. (I think most did). He has a good look and I remember thinking he could maybe end up like Triple H or something. Then he showed up in WWE fat for some reason
>>
>>16448557
He's a cokehead
>>
>>16446948
I don't even put this on him looking back at the state of WWE at the time. The roster was a revolving door for anyone lower than the upper midcard. You'd have guys built up to debut, having two or three matches if that, and be cut. Braden Walker, Scotty Goldman, Ryan Braddock. Just people set up to fail
>>
>>16447939
Somehow he is good friends with Braun
>>
>>16451130
So you don't know
>>
>>16447939
I read / heard he has the same kind of muscle degenerative disease in his arm like Paul Orndorff had
>>
>>16450620
You say that, but a large contingent of retards online still put over Keith Lee. They may have to say something to the affect of, "yeah, it's unfortunate he has health conditions preventing him from competing," but they'll never actually point out why that is, his bad attitude, or how shit he was long before his AEW run.
>>
>>16446948
If I told you, there would be a meltdown.
>>
>>16447345
Bro let it go.
>>
>>16450173
It's quite post-modern when you think about it. He opens with "knock knock" and you expect this to be another whimsical WWE gimmick, after all ECW by then was no longer really extreme. And Estrada plays his part in setting it up by asking who's there. But now the twist comes. Normally you would say something like "orange," that sets up your second punny response but instead he just says his name. Not just that but he then threatens Estrada by telling him he's going to "knock your brains out." No pun and threats of horrific violence, our expectations have been thoroughly subverted. What we expect from a knock knock joke, from this tame and not-at-all extreme version of ECW... it's all been turned on its head. Mr. Walker tells us that he's no nonsense, that he's not here to joke or play games and that he's a very dangerous man; that underneath the girth and behind that simple twang lies a darkness and a penchant for violence, even cruelty. He's Braden Walker and he's going to knock your brains out... and he's here.

It's no wonder that this gimmick failed. It was too smart for the average fan and too intense for the audience that WWE had cultivated during the Cena era. In our current age of Wyatt Sick6es and Final Testaments perhaps it might have been something but not so in the era of the cartoonish childishness of 2008.
>>
>>16446979
Whats wrong with that?
>>
>>16452302
really?
>>
>>16447125
Chris Hero?
>>
>>16452533
I wouldn't say Chris Hero embarrassed himself. He turned into a fat piece of shit but he still had a job in the WWE for years and being fat didn't actually destroy his wrestling ability. Meanwhile Chris Harris to Braden Walker is like 1990 British Bulldog vs 1999 British Bulldog
>>
>>16452302
Sup, Mr Walker?
>>
>>16446948
Whack Oz?
>>
>>16446948
I remember this, but I had little idea who he was beyond being a TNA guy. I'd always assumed he just went back to TNA and had a good career afterwards, but this was pretty much it for him. He pretty much fell off the map besides a handful of one-off appearances back in TNA. Either this blew up his career to the point of no return or he just didn't want to be a wrestler any more after blowing his big shot.
>>
>>16446948
>god i fucking hate being a wrestler
>>
>>16446948
>why Braden walker? What is that

So we have the Jannetty. Then there's the Tucker which is Super Jannetty 2. Brayden Walker is obviously Super Jannetty 4 but who/what is Super Jannetty 3?

My timeline might be fucked up, but didn't he return to TNA in shape and had a great Texas Death match with James Storm. Or was that before he left? I also remember him having a blindfold match with him at a Lockdown PPV where the blindfold/bag kept falling off of both guys.

If y'all weren't around at the time, TNA was the biggest joke that everyone mocked. That's why I laugh when people act like AEW is the most hated on company ever.
>>
>>16455646
No, the timeline is AMW split up, feuded for most of the year, and then by the end of the year seemingly out of nowhere, Harris was fired
