WHY isn't big Tone promoting Kenny's return match? I thought Dynasty was a joint show. You would think he would be helping to promote the show so it gave NJPW a little bump in subs.
>>
>>16486024
Because Kenny went against his wishes I suppose
>>
>>16486024
Why should he?
>>
>>16486038
i outlined it clearly in the op
>>
>>16486042
huh? what are you even talking about?
>>
>>16486046
just shut up
>>
I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to gather that there's a weird aura between Omega and AEW that's been brewing for a while. I don't think has been entirely happy over there and it lowkey seems like it's coming to a head now with these sarcastic "I don't think they need me" remarks. I think he's been made to feel unneeded and undervalued. He's gone on his streams before and expressed his distaste for how the higher powers at AEW (basically said Tony without saying Tony) handled the Punk situation.

I would not be surprised in the least if Omega has expressed his dislikes of how things are in AEW to Tony and been met with deaf ears OR Tony didn't like him throwing even subtle shade at the company when he was doing his streams and after and now Tony is just being fucking spiteful because he is an entitled coked up man child.

NJPW is just AEW developmental. Why would you celebrate a star going back to NXT?
>>
>>16486697
It kind of feels like Kenny is fed the fuck up with Tony's Toybox. You can sort of feel it off of him at this point and that he's just happy to go back to New Japan where they'll respect him more plus have some semblance of professional booking.
>>
>>16486712
Considering NXT is BTFO AEW across the board in ratings that would be a lot for SOMEONE to celebrate at least.
>>
>>16486727
NXT ratings are dogshit for free TV
>>
>>16486024
Because "there's not a spot for him" without cutting into Death Rider bullshit and Orange Julius or some other horse shit.
>>
>>16486024
This nigga Kenny should've stayed with New Japan or gone to the Fed. Fucking TNA. Anything would've been better.
>>
>>16486757
He went to TNA for a while and he tanked their already abyssal ratings
>>
AEW sucks so bad. I hate that such a dogshit company has hired so many talented performers and kept them in prison when other companies could've used them well.
>>
>>16486766
Are you talking about when he showed up for a minute during the pandemic era?
>>
>>16486697
How would you feel if you saw Punk and Cody go to WWE and get the best booking of their career and huge runs, and watch Cody feuding with the Rock and in thr biggest match of all time to win the title, meanwhile you won the belt by Moxley getting bonked on the head with a microphone then followed it up with the sparkler match, then your first tv defense involved cookie sheets, and now you're destined back to be forced to work with Orange Cassidy, Daniel Garcia and have to reunite with the Bucks and Hangman for like the tenth time.
>>
>>16486024
All this head canon in this thread, Tony barely knows how to promote his own shows.
>>
>>16486024
>cody gone
>kenny on bad terms
>bucks yanked from TV after their angle flopped
more like NO ELITE WRESTLING
>>
>>16486776
Well I mean when you put it like that who can blame him I guess lmao. I wish Tony would just buy out his contract and let his ass go anywhere else but Tony would sooner put him in shackles and chains and add like 100 years of injury time to keep him forever.
>>
>>16486776
Man seeing it like that is fucking depressing. How much time does he have left on his contract? I think E-drones would welcome him with open arms. He and Seth could absolutely main event Mania.
>>
>>16486697
He literally said "I don't think they need me...so I'll make my return for New Japan instead" while looking off to the side and smirking. There's gotta be some undivulged heat between him and Tony.
>>
>>16486799
He's got a few years now. He kind of fucked himself a little signing that extension in the summer. I mean I'm sure he's paid handsomely but idk how much time he's got left realistically after this round of his contract is up. If I were him and I really had a coming to Jesus moment with this near fatal health thing I'd be like Tony buy my contract out and I'd either make one last big hurrah NJPW run or get one run in the WWE.
>>
>>16486801
Tony is the same guy that ghosted Chavo Guerrero, many others and left CM Punk when he was the top draw of the company to find a train to the arena on his own AND did not extend medical help for when he tore his tricep. If you think he knows better than to tell Kenny Omega that he can't cut into the Costco Guys' segment to let him in to return you're wrong.
>>
>>16486835
You know what's fucking hilarious. Hangman shooting over "worker's rights" but minds his own fucking business with this recent Rey Fenix shit.
>>
>>16486812
It just sucks. AEW has become such a dumpster fire. It's sad for a lot of reasons.
>>
>>16486849
Meanwhile Colt Cabana still isn't on tv
>>
>>16486697
he shit on meltzer, that's where the heat began
>>
>>16486697
Reminder that when asked dave metlzer said that kenny was shitting on him and AEW to set up a feud with Will lmao
>>
>>16486812
Tony is going to jail Kenny to AEW until he retires. You see how effortlessly and how much time Tony added to Fenix's contract JUST to keep him in AEW prison to keep other places from signing him? You know how Kenny missed a significant amount of time due to those stomach issues and then the surgeries post Belt Collector run? Tony will come to collect on that immediately if he thinks Kenny wants to leave.
>>
>>16486901
I aspire to have the level of delusional confidence in people that Dave does.
>>
Kenny is never going to WWE you fucking marks
>>
>>16486905
tony really has gone back on literally everything he claimed was good about AEW lmao
sure bingo hall curtain jerkers and way past their prime WWE guys will sign the mark contract, who wouldn't
but AEW has really proven that they cannot keep or make stars and anyone with a semblance of an upwards career trajectory are going to steer clear
>>
>>16486905
It's shocking how AEW was supposed to be all about treating wrestlers right, but now Tony is the one pulling this shit while WWE has been giving people releases when they ask for them, at least in some cases. They did for Eric Young.
>>
>>16486931
Especially with TNA having a relationship with WWE now.

for the fans
>>
>>16486905
Cody leaving and being a success mindbroke him. Now he is trying to just keep everybody so they don't succeed elsewhere, and he even went as far as to order people to not watch the Royal Rumble so they wouldn't see Cody win. Being Booker of the Year really meant something to him, and that narrative being changed is killing him.
>>
>>16486926
As a fan I don't give a fuck if Kenny goes to West Nippleville just get him tf out of AEW.
>>
>>16486945
What's hilarious about that is the rumor about a backstage argument between Tony and Cody before Cody left for the WWE. Evidently Tony pressed the wrong button with Cody and basically told him he wasn't going to push him as AEW's John Cena (this right after he signs Punk to a tremendous contract and rolls out the red carpet for him) and allegedly Cody whipped out his cell phone and said something like "You think I can't call Vince and that he wouldn't take me right now?" and literally pulled up Vince McMahon's phone number on his phone.

Now idk if that rumor is true but if it is it's hilarious in hindsight as Tony called Cody's bluff and ate the largest truckload of shit humanly possible for it and has had to watch it happen helplessly lmao.
>>
the amount of money and goodwill wasted in such a short amount of time will be studied for decades
>>
>>16486992
Probably the first time in Tony's life someone actually stood up to him, can definitely see how something like this has stuck in his craw ever since
>>
>>16486992
I want this to be true so bad
>>
>>16486024
Tony can't even promote his own shows properly and he has literally never promoted any of his partner shows, even when they ended up being part of his own booking. The Osprey Vs Omega match played into aew booking for over a year and he never bothered to promote that.
>>
>>16486931
Worse, everything he claimed was bad about "the other company" is now all that are does, but aew does it worse somehow.
>>
>>16486992
It really is incredible that Cody leaves, and isn't just successful in WWE, but he becomes the biggest star in wrestling since Cena, and unlike Cena, is close to universally beloved by fans. His career literally couldn't be better right now.
>>
>>16487066
its really depressing that there was a real shot at there being a legit contender to WWE but it had to be ran by the worst kind of smark imaginable
the chance is blown, there probably wont be another outfit with the capital AEW had for the rest of the century
>>
>>16486992
>Cody's entire motivation for leaving the WWE the first time and becoming The American Nightmare working his way up through the independents was out of spite
>Spite from the WWE not seeing his worth as more than Stardust
>Tony
>"I don't think you're worth that much Codester"

I'm glad Cody left soon after that because you have to be literally socially stunted or an exotic fucking vegetable, just an absolute idiot to not see where that conversation was going to go after Tony said that.
>>
>>16487101
Cody is a classic case of a man that bet on himself at every opportunity to roll the dice and he fucking won.
>>
>>16487109
That's what infuriates me so much about AEW. I love WWE but there are so many talented wrestlers, different styles of doing a wrestling show, that there could absolutely be a respectable #2 company that does things a different way. There's totally room for that. But all Tony's done is weaken every company that's not WWE while WWE becomes bigger and better than ever, and he's hurting wrestlers' careers in the process.
>>
>>16487129
At some point God seemed to have said 'Ya Just Gotta' because once he went to WWE everything went so perfectly for him and he really was one mm away from it all going to shit with the Rock drama
>>
>>16486993
Renewing AEW is gonna be another stain on Zaslav's run if he doesn't put pressure on them
>>
>>16487154
Its sad really, the absolute the worst person possible is in the drivers seat
>>
>>16487175
And even that drama, once they course corrected, resulted in the most epic WreslteMania main event of all time.
>>
>>16486024
is it true that Kenny's tummy troubles come from rimming Ibushi???
>>
>>16487154
What sucks is to think about where they started and what the initial vision was. Tony's vision for AEW is...whatever the fuck you want to call this catastrophe.

The Elite (and I'm just inferring here based on what they've said interviews over the years):

I always go the impression Cody saw AEW as being able to become a real alternative to the WWE and a BIG company. He seemed to really believe and push for them to break into mainstream and grow as big as possible.

The Bucks wanted to keep some of the independent roots/feel (looking back they wanted to still be able to just do their indy shit but on a bigger stage hence why the Bucks got along best with Tony at least for a while). If I'm being fair the Bucks' mission statement at the start of the company was that they wanted to bring back tag team wrestling as a real attraction in the west.

Kenny always mentioned the term "smorgasboard of wrestling". He always talked about wanting AEW to showcase all types of different wrestling styles so that the western audience could experience American, Japanese, Lucha, etc. all under one roof and get all those flavors.
>>
>>16486024
I guarantee you that any of the talent that Tony thinks likes him are just pretending to be nice so they don't fuck up their pay day.
>>
>>16487235
and tony wanted a really bad discount WWE to play action figures with
and as it turns out, tony would force this down everyone elses throats with or without them
>>
>>16486697
I've said this in another thread but as a NJPW Kenny fan you know what's wild to me? The AEW english commentary team NEVER knew how to call Kenny's moves compared to English NJPW. I've never once heard them call the Rise of the Terminator by name nor Rain Trigger. I think I've heard them call out the Dr. Wily Bomb like one time.
>>
>>16487235
>The Bucks wanted to keep some of the independent roots/feel
>some
It's pretty obvious that the Young Cucks just wanted AEW to be PWG 2.0 where they could have playtime with their indie friends and everybody fleeces Tony. Fuck ratings, fuck attendance, fuck business, just have fun and get paid. This would be what made them run afoul of Punk.
>>
>>16487317
And they won out so they get to reap what they've sowed when Tony's spending gets pulled back
>>
>>16487317
its crazy how tony completely blind to those two embarrassing marks, i mean literally every dime ever drawn by your company has either left or has one foot out the door, and he still sides with them
Kenny completely checking out makes literally half of the original EVPs being fed up with the company, hes never gonna get a clue
>>
>>16487216
'fraid so
>>
>>16487317
The Ghostbusters match was when I decided that AEW was an irredeemable shitshow.
>>
I just heard the Young Bucks showed up at NJPW’s show tonight.

These wrestlers want nothing to do with Tony’s AEW EVP’s included I’m convinced lol.
>>
>>16487367
But they were working the EVP gimmick.

Also in Kenny's recent interview with SRS when speaking about AEW, he made sure to use the words ''we'' when discussing AEW. Anyone with their head turned wouldn't be speaking so inclusively like that. But you retards just make up your own rhetoric thinking Tony is running some kind of prison. Kenny could work any company he wanted to apart from WWE. I'm sure he's pretty happy with his current situation.

Do you think Kenny had a falling out with the Elite? Did he finally realize their petty shit just ain't worth it?
>>
>>16487375
>I'm sure he's pretty happy with his current situation.
i mean yeah, sitting at home getting paid by some retarded money mark while your rotted out asshole heals for years is pretty nice
>>
>>16487375
Hey Trevor
>>
>>16487109
Tony entered at pretty much the perfect time as tv networks were desperate for content and there were enough viewers left to have a good start. Now it's pretty much over and there isn't enough tv viewership to start a new major company and that's the only way to become popular as just starting on streaming or whatever wont draw shit for a new company.
Everything was perfect
>WWE was at a weak point
>Indies were stronger than ever
>NJPW boom
>RoH decent boom
>TV network lined up
>Tons of free agents and people willing to jump from WWE
>Cody pretty much built the foundation for the company
>Cody and QT had a training facility ready
And somehow he fucked up every last thing
>>
>>16487387
the only thing that fell out was Kenny's butthole lul
>>
>>16487387
When do you ever see these guys hang out anymore? Cody was the guy who brought them all together and united for a goal. They were always together then churning out content and doing new shit. That all stopped when Cody stopped doing BTE, then they stopped doing BTE.
>>
>>16486024
Kenny just seems done with AEW. He's given up.
>>
>>16486024
you tell me
>>
>>16487154
I'm more infuriated because I hate WWE, but now hate AEW more for the reasons you listed. Tony is almost single handedly killing the next generation of wrestling right now.
>>
did aew promote aew vs cmll friday at arena mexico or the njpw strong ppv?
>>
>>16486697
Nah you are all overthinking this. The last time Kenny was in NJPW was to recruit Ospreay for AEW. Now he's there to recruit Gabe for AEW.
>>
>>16486697
Please for the love of God make him go to WWE. It's going to add like 10 years to his career. I don't even like WWE.
