Wake up babe, new Meltzer cope just dropped
>>
>>16642078
He’s right though
>>
>>16642078
It’s not the same when hes not lying about matches in Japan being good that nobody saw. When he lies about aew having good wrestling we can verify that it’s a false statement. Not only is it creatively poor, but the actual in ring action is sub-par.
>>
Aew won

>>I've eaten great food in restaurants
Man I wish I could find the video but I remember Alvarez told a story where him and Meltzer met up I think in San Jose and they decided to go eat together. They wasted so much time basically walking around town on foot trying to find somewhere to eat because of Meltzer and his picky food autism. I remember it ended with them eating somewhere with garbage food. I think it might've been Olive Garden but it was years ago when he told this story.
>>
>>16642078
highly rated restaurants are a draw though, unlike highly rated matches
>>
>>16642078
Hey Dave first time long time. Yeah i was wondering why there is a direct correlation between AEW signing the guys you jack off over and business falling off of a cliff. I'll take my answer off the air.
>>
>>16642078
>food analogy
Wagyu vs. McDonalds is an availability and price point issue.
WWE vs. AEW has/had the exact same accessibility (basic cable) and people chose one of them way more than the other.

>>16642127
hearty kek

>It’s not the same when hes not lying about matches in Japan being good that nobody saw.
this. he is the only person taking prowrestling serious. everybody that is normal knows its a joke and just for entertainment. he actually considers it art which is fine but he is trying to impose his views onto others

Meltz is always right
>>
>>16642302
Ofc, he co-owns AEW with Tiny's dad.
>>
>>16642302
Remember when the public saw a pic of Chris Jericho being fat and IMMEDIATELY thought "how is WWE still employing him?" besides that being his literally 3rd or 4th year in the AEW's payroll?
>>
>>16642302
Most deluded bullshit I've ever seen lmao
>>
>>16642078
He's got a point.
Windows is the most wide spread PC Operating System in the world.
You're a retard if you think it's better than Linux.

What's crazy is that WWE is the wagyu steak that sells like McDonald's, and AEW is the shitty hamburger that no one buys.
>>
McDonald's taste really good that's why people go there. The whole meme is that it's not healthy or some shit so it doesn't count.
>>
>>16642302
This can't be real
>>
>>16642097
>that nobody saw
All of those AJPW 5 star matches have hundreds of thousands of views on Youtube and shit, somebody is watching them
>>
>>16645011
maybe one day The Podcast will find those videos and read the comments lol
>>
>>16642302
>2020
Ehh, maybe, nobody was watching either company at this dogshit time let's be honest
>>
>>16645011
There are bars in Japan that play playlists full of AJPW matches on their ceiling-mounted TVs.
>>
>>16645634
Probably. Not a totally normal person, but a lapsed wrestling fan at that time is very believable. He isn't saying people would know who the AEW champion was, but they would know there's this new show over knowing who was WWE champ at that time. In 2020 WWE was absolute dogshit for boomers and AEW had a younger audience during the pandemic.
>>
>>16642078
I called this like a year ago, eventually they were going to pull the arthouse cinema vs commercial cinema cope, except they aren't trying to be arthouse wrestling, they made it a point to be the alternative to wwe, they celebrated high ratings, they gave away ridiculously high amounts to established talent instead of either paying them less and giving them more freedom or building up new talent and despite all that they are failing miserably.
>>
>>16642406
better for who nigga? linux doesn't run most of what a normie needs, personally or professionally, windows is dogshit but for the average person as of this moment windows is the preferable alternative.
>>
>>16642078
that isn't a good analogy. McDonalds sells more burgers because they are in every town, open 24/7 and are relatively cheap. I can't get a wagyu steak at 4 am 5 mins from my house for $6 with fries and tendies. gayEW is on basic cable. RAW was on basic cable, slopdown is on basic cable and NXT was on basic cable. there isn't an accessibility or cost difference, people just don't like the product
>>16642097
this too. he is probably basing shit on him liking shitty japanese matches you had to watch on bootleg tapes and shit preinternet. now that the thing is accessible and assplay sucks we can see he is a retard
>>
>>16642078
it's hilarious how obsessed you edrones are with everything Dave says lol
>>
>>16646120
What the fuck do normies need beyond a web browser and a word processor?
>>
>>16642302
In case you don't believe him, the WWE and Universal Champion title picture in August 2020 was Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Randy Orton, and Drew McIntyre rotating the titles until Roman came back.

"Cinematic" WWE was really really bad.
>>
>>16647808
All bigger than AEW.
>>
>>16642078
>wagyu beef steaks
I never had this, are they really that special?
>>
>>16647813
At some point in their careers? Yeah. In 2020 though, they were popping out Rey Mysterio's eye with bad CGI, and Randy and Bray were trying to light each other on fire with jump cuts, before Randy and HHH engaged in an old man flaming sledgehammer duel that somehow managed to be way less cool than it sounds.

AEW on the other hand was dropping Matt Hardy on his head, which I'll watch then, now, and forever, if I'm being honest with myself.
>>
>>16647823
>Randy and Bray were trying to light each other on fire with jump cuts
only good thing from this feud was Orton's stalker wife threatening to kill Alexa Bliss because she didn't like the sexy pin she beat him in a match with
>>
>>16647816
never trust food snobs. it’s fine but not some amazing thing.
>>
>>16647841
In retrospect we probably should have known Bray was dying when they had to emergency replace him with Alexa's anime demon girl bullshit in actual advertised matches because he was getting gassed after 3 minutes.
I think they whole fire gimmick was to work around that, he was fine in like July, and then never wrestled a normal match again after that. Shit was dire if Roman hadn't came back.
>>
>and edrones eat slop out of a bucket on a farm
what he really wanted to say
>>
>>16642078
>subjective things are subjective
woah Dave with the deep thoughts
>>
>>16647816
Remember "Angus beef" or "Kobe beef"? Same type of thing. It's just marketing trying to sell the same shit at twice the price. Go to the store, buy yourself a decent rib eye and cook it right. You'll enjoy it a lot more.
>>
>>16647863
>even AEWtists are done pretending that David Jew Meltzer doesn't work for Tiny
KWAB!
>>
>>16642078
I came in here expecting-
>ACKCHYUALLY I was opposed to AEW all along!
-when it's basically the Meltzer fed. He might not officially work there, but it was pretty much built according to the instructions of him and his base.

I'm not going to give him respect whether he sticks by his guns or not, though. There's a type of fake nerd who pushes for a complete overhaul to how a popular and successful pop culture industry is ran, not because they love the industry and have cool ideas on how to make things more exciting, but because the fandom is a conduit for them to pretend in their minds that they're smarter and more virtuous than average people. Not only do they not ask if there's anything wrong with their plans and if the current way of doing things might be better (true thinking begins after you've formulated an idea in your head), but they're hostile and dismissive towards criticism, because if it turns out that the people who made the successful stuff know what they're doing and average fans aren't stupid for liking it, they don't get to feel special. Since I've been interacting with the Meltzer cult in the early 00s when they were complaining about paddle-on-the-pole matches and Hulk Hogan on gamefaqs, Meltzer and his base have always been those fake nerds. And AEW (and modern pop culture in general) is the truth of what you get when you put money behind the petty games of these dipshits.
>>
>>16642078
The analogy may be correct but AEW isn't a high end restaurant to WWE's McDonald's, it's Wendy's at best.
>>
>>16647997
You got it all wrong amigo. Meltzer has tried to talk Tony out of executing most of the major mistakes he's made with AEW, and has reported time and time again after the mistake was made that Tony wouldn't listen. Exploding ring, splitting the roster between who will/won't work with punk on two shows, showing the all-in footage, etc.

The weird part is you're not wrong about Meltzer, but Tony is somehow even more of a know it all dumbass. There's this myth that everyone from Meltzer to Moxley is booking AEW, they aren't, it's all Tony, which is why every angle with every wrestler has the same mistakes.
>>
>>16642078
Modern WWE: McDonalds
AEW: A vegan Portland "burger" joint that thinks that it's edgy because it's called "Fuck You Burger" and cuts the fries so that they look like penises

Two different kinds of bad.
>>
>>16648130
Neither passes the Kevin Steen and El Generico vs. Super Dragon and Excalibur test. It's crazy the slop people will put up with when the industry is booming.

Nah McDonald’s is good. Most consistent restaurant in the world. Family friendly too. Gotta love the golden arches, brother!

proper ones are but the majority of stuff sold as Wagyu isn't proper wagyu
