Kenny Omega just isn't a draw in Japan (or anywhere else actually). His first WK main event him and Okada might have gone on last but to the japanese fans they were secondary to the Naito Tanahashi ic feud. His second one drew well but that was because everyone knew he was leaving for AEW and that Tanahashi was 100% getting one more run and they wanted to be there for it

I live in Japan and I could have very easily gone to this show but didn't. Back when it was announced, the question in my mind was not am I going, it was how much am I going to spend on my ticket? Then as time went on and matches got announced, it became clear that not only was it not going to be an All-Star show, but it was mostly comprised of midcard talent. I'm sure if I went I would have had a good time, but they need to do better to have me part with my money and get out of bed on a Sunday.

CMLL didn't have a big match, with no Mistico on the show. The only match that had any build was Kenny vs Gabe.Given all those factors, 16000 is pretty good. That's gotta be near the baseline for hardcore fans that want good wrestling. Very few casuals were turning up for this.
