IIRC for her daikaiju booking, she went to a local toy shop to buy figures for her match. She might have done that in Philly too. They were just little plastic kaiju toys.

Not just that, they're admitting to abusing the lax rules to touch our girls inappropriately while they're paralyzed in fear. They're taking advantage of the language barrier to get away with their crimes.
>>
The best gift to give the players is food they might like, like Rice Krispies treats for Kamiyu/Dejimon. That way you know they have a higher chance of enjoying it instead of just throwing it away since it can't fit in their suitcase

Most indies lose tons of money and shut down within a few years. A normal new business has a 1/3 chance of closing within 3 years, it feels like 2/3 of wrestling indies close within a year. Especially hard when you're importing talent. Promotion's like EVE or GCW or DEFY hugely increase their ticket prices when they bring over lots. Most small promotion's can't afford to charge $100 for second row tickets, you have to build up a lot of goodwill

Most indies are money losing ventures and do shut down, but I'd imagine Daikaiju was more expensive than usual with how many imports they brought in. Shoko, Kaya, VENY, and all the Singapore wrestlers they booked.

Sometimes people book shows to have fun and say they booked a show, not to make money. It's fine if you know that's what you're doing ahead of time. Pay the people what they are owed and then walk away. Don't be a Trans Graps/Sally and ruin VENY in America for the rest of us.

I've met Rika a few times in America and once in Japan, and each time after the first time we met, she's sorta looked at me quizzically with a flash of recognition in her eyes and asks if we've met before.

She could just be working me to make money, but it's a weirdly specific lie to tell, especially if the answer is possibly "No we haven't".

I think the girls just do remember people if they're unique enough. You and I are just very lucky.

Misao charged a lot for that daruma she used in her match. It was $100 or more. And then on the second day everyone was charging the same for an autograph even if it wasn’t on a portrait.
In LA I got Namba to sign my copy of the visual book, and she gave me an unsigned portrait as a bonus.

I also own a few sheets of construction paper with squiggles on it because they ran out of portraits immediately.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, they had a shit ton of portraits in Seattle, several variations. It was the sword portraits from the last big show they did, or some regular venue only ones. I got a Shoko sword portrait and a regular Rika.

Is anyone planning on going to the stardom and marigold shows too? I am, but if they have their meet-and-greets at wrestlecon, I won’t bother with that. I’m glad the meeto in Philly was in the same venue as the match, and I assume Vegas will be the same
>>

Honestly depends on when they're scheduled. I'm doing a double merch run so I can buy all the Suzume goods. I especially like Kurara and Mei Seira but most of the players like that probably aren't coming over. I might meeto Syuri?
>>
>>16688724
Stardom for sure. I might do WrestleCon depending on the lineup.

Judging by the schedule and when the Stardom show is, I'm probably going to be doing a lot of sightseeing. I'll do the Thursday Defy show if one or more of our girls are on the card, and maybe Bloodsport depending on the card. I'll for sure do DDT on Friday and maybe the Janela show, again depending on the card.

Once they added the PayPal option it became way too easy to accidentally spend a fortune on the friendly girls. In LA, I think they only took cash? So that was a natural limit to how much I could spend without having to find an ATM near the hotel that wasn't tapped out already. I always made sure to show them I paid but I think they probably didn't check too hard. I could have lied and gotten free merch, especially since it just goes to the CF PayPal. I wonder if they all split it evenly among the entire crew.

>>
>>16688925
I guess you could just send them the 30 dollars you meant to send, "for Mizuki portrait" or something. But at this point, you're in the clear. Just buy more merch from her the next time you see her. It'll make her hamburger hapi hapi

Buy extra Mizuki merch to make up for it. From every interaction I've had in Japan they really try to help foreign fans as much as they can. Koda showed me the seating map one time at Kitazawa. >>
>>16689307
Same. For some reason I thought her English would be better. I guess i got worked by the auto translate she uses for social media.

Namba also seemed to know more English when I met her in LA compared to when I met her in Tokyo, but maybe she brushed up before she went to America and wasn't ready in Tokyo. It sounds like she's been taking lessons lately and/or talks to Kira in English to practice.

The queue sign was kinda fun and an example of that Japanese collectivism you always hear about. You all work together to keep the meet and greet organized and help others figure out where to go.

I had to sorta figure out how the whole thing worked by myself, including how to get the plastic sleeve of portraits and tickets I had ordered, so the signs did help. That and how they will announce 2 shot/chekis, so everyone runs off the lines they're on to go wait in the cheki line.

Lines tend to end when the last person is done, so it makes sense to hit up the shorter lines first. It makes so much sense and I wish it caught on elsewhere.

>Welcome To The World Inside Shino Suzuki's mind! #2: A journey into Shino Suzuki’s childhood!
>Even if you’re thinking, “I’m not really interested,” just like knowing where vegetables are grown and who grows them can make you feel safer eating them, understanding the environment someone grew up in might give you a better perspective. So please bear with me! The way I think about pro wrestling today and my personality are deeply connected to my upbringing. I think if you take a look at this, you’ll gain a little more understanding about me, my life, and my passion for pro wrestling. So, here’s my guide!
>When I was about two years old, I stopped a door from closing with my foot, and people said, “This kid’s going to be pretty rough around the edges.” When my dad pretended to leave me behind, I yelled in the middle of the street, “Are you really going to leave me?!”
>In kindergarten, I chipped my front tooth eating Big Katsu snacks. At the music recital, I wanted to play the lead role, but I ended up being the full moon instead. After the graduation ceremony, everyone was taking group photos, but I went home without taking a single picture. I don’t appear in any of them.
>In sixth grade, there was a class presentation called “Show Off Your Talent.” I didn’t have anything I was good at and was completely at a loss. While everyone else practiced and prepared during life skills class, I had no talent to show, so I just sank into despair.
>There was a classmate who noticed and invited me to play the recorder with them. But two days before the presentation, I was kicked out. Well, of course—I wasn’t any good at it. So, having no real talents to speak of, I decided: “I’ll draw whatever subject they give me on the spot.” On the day of the presentation, I planted a friend in the audience. I told them, “I’m definitely going to call on you, so raise your hand and tell me to draw Mt. Fuji.”
>>
>As planned, I drew a picture of Mt. Fuji. The atmosphere was awful. Everyone forced a smile—even the parents. Even as a sixth grader, I thought, This is the worst. Because before and after me, everyone was showing off things like piano performances, recorder pieces, jump rope tricks, or lightning-fast calculations. I thought, What is wrong with these people?! I felt frustrated, and I swore to prove everyone wrong.
>This was the moment I became certain that my competitive streak was born. A lot of my motivation comes from feelings like frustration or wanting to do better. It was around this time that I decided to pursue becoming an idol. >But whenever I said I wanted to be an idol, people called me a "pretender" or "phony." Still, at the graduation ceremony, I boldly declared: “I’ll become an idol loved by everyone!” Even my mom said, “No one says something like that in front of everyone!” The more people opposed me, the more determined I became to prove them wrong. This stubborn personality, this will to succeed no matter what, stems from that time. I think it’s also somewhat connected to my passion for pro wrestling.
>That’s why the more I feel frustrated about not being able to do something, the more determined I am to make it happen no matter what. Doing the best I can with what I’m capable of—that’s just who I’ve always been. People often write about me, calling me “tenacious” or “gutsy,” but honestly, it’s the only way I know how to live. That said, the past is the past. I want to live differently going forward. I want to change. And I want people to see that change. I hope you’ll watch and see for yourself.
>Since I declared at graduation, “I’ll become an idol,” and now I actually am one, please invite me to a reunion where we watch our graduation ceremony again or dig up the time capsule! But I haven’t been invited yet! Boo-hoo. Did you enjoy this little tour of “Shino Suzuki’s Childhood”? I hope we can meet again someday! Thank you so much for reading!
