>ruined professional wrestling in you're path
>>16693249Unironically the most kino fed of all time.
>>16693249I would say PWG, literally the Mecca of flippy shit and no sells
>>16693401don’t forget the finisher spam and kicking out at one
>>16693249DG is based
>>16693420WWE pulled this shit long before PWG became in vogue.
>>16693249the thing is yes they did popularize pretty much what pro wrestling looks like today in every place even in WWE's big matches, but when they were doing it their shit looked so fucking smooth and even their strikes weren't embarassing soft forearms, PWG is the worst offender because they were copying puro juniors without any of the psychology behind it and had the worst strikes that you see today all the time in AEW where guys softly tap each other and slap their legs like a thunder struck them
>>16693632>guys softly tap each other and slap their legs like a thunder struck themYou're thinking of DIY & The Usos
>>16693642sorry I said AEW but I meant the entire wrestling scene, WWE of course included, and pretty much all of Japan, New Japan, NOAH & All Japan have also dozens of thigh slappers and soft strikers, it's ruined all of wrestling today
>>16693401AEW can't decide if it wants to be an American version of New Japan or PWG with a billion dollar budget.>>16693632>>16693653The problem with indie wrestling being lame and cringe is that eventually some of their philosophy makes its way up to WWE because that's where they get their talent from. Hopefully NIL and WWEID forces them to get clue. Now that WWE is bringing in NCAA tier athletes into the Performance Center any indie talent who wants to get signed is has to be really fucking good.
>>16693249There’s no designated /puro/ thread so I’ll just say this here:Dragongate had a great show last night and has an all 1v1 card coming up in a few nights. They are booking like a Western company and their attendance has grown to #2 in Japan. The financial backing isn’t there like NJPW/NOAH but it is a better product than either of those.
The ROH clone wars did more damage to modern wrestling, though
>>16693249sorry OP here. wrong picture
>>16693249ChikaraPWGClone Wars ROHDG USAall ruined wrestling
>>16694237>Hopefully NIL and WWEID forces them to get clue. Now that WWE is bringing in NCAA tier athletes into the Performance CenterLove how it's the fault of indy promotions you never watched that "ruined" wrestling for ya, not the utter slop WWE shat out for decades.lmao this post will age hilariously
>>16694394>>16694515The Clone Wars got buried in their own time kek. Ain't nobody today inspired by the Jiu-Jitsu Jackoffs
>>16694379Is there any reason why DG hasn't partnered with American companies since like the 2000s?
>>16693381Nah, that was JCP.
>>16694592>Short answerThey felt is was unnecessary when it came to balancing their finances.>Longer answerTheir main source of revenue comes from a super loyal fanbase of young women in remote areas of Japan. DG runs all over the country, in many prefectures/buildings that no other company would bother to try. So they get all the business at those locations, and their main audience in those arenas are repressed women that are drawn to their hunky roster (like how salarymen are drawn to idols). Also DG is very storyline/promo heavy as opposed to other puro companies, so a lot is lost trying to bring those elements to the west. They only have English commentary on 33% of shows because their annoying super fan lives in the country and volunteers his time. He still has a day job at Mercari because they don't want to bother with pursuing Western expansion anytime soon.>Direct answerIn America the indie revenue is generated from fat neck beards jacking off to star ratings and DG would rather run 500 seat gyms in freezing Hokkaido with the hope that the women up there will rub themselves raw thinking of the next time HYO comes to visit.
>>16694379DG lies about attendance and also runs a lot of shows with small crowds, their attendance per show average is bad.
>>16694978everyone lies about attendance especially the joshi promotions so it all comes out in the wash
>>16693420Blame Rock and Austin for that.
