>WWE sucks>For years, fans have said WWE sucks>For years, fans have wanted an alternative to WWE because it sucks>AEW comes onto the scene as that alternative>Now we have two companies that suckYou're welcome, America.
>>16712814WWE is better than it used to be. The big 4 PPVs are still worth watching.AEW PPVs are still really good. Their weekly television has just fallen off.Wrestling is only meant to be watched once every 3 months.
>No, AEW good, you're just a cultist!
>>16712923>AEW PPVs are still really good.I ordered Revolution 20 and All Out 21 and everyone flipping around and kicking out of 5 finishers got exhausted really quickly.WWE has the same problem creeping in for years. But AEW always ends the match a few minutes too late. There's always that one false finish that should have been the finish and even the crowd can't hide how deflated they are afterwards.
WTF a thread with rational replies?
>>16713001I think the guy who accuses everyone of being "Trevor" or "Rovert" finally got banned. /pw/ is healing
>>16712814the first promotion that brings back bra and panties matches will get my loyalty. and I'm not talking some shit I have to pay 5$ a month to watch on the internet, it has to be on real tv.
>>16713024based.
>>16712973AEW shows can be a exhausting to watch because they don't structure their show properly. It's such a simple fix, I'm not sure why they don't do it.I think that's just modern wrestling. It sucks because it is always done on big shows, so I've learn to never expect a big match to end after the first finisher. I do like that some wrestlers have been winning with moves other than their finisher. Osperay winning with a styles clash was really nice to see. More wrestlers should do that, have 2-3 moves that can end a match without over relying on spamming the same move in an attempt to win.
AEW doesn't suck, it's pretty good
weekly gayew is dogshit ppv gayew is mid
>>16713074It's the finisher spam that gets me.It works if there's a logic to it. I always loved the King Road style of escalating finishers -- there's a finisher that works on low card guys, but you have to use something stronger on a midcarder, and you save your final boss finisher only for the very best. With AEW, though, it feels like anyone can kick out of anything at any time. It kills it for me. I stopped watching seriously back during the pandemic after Hangman kicked out of a boombox shot to the head by Max Caster. It doesn't make the person taking the move look strong, it just makes the whole thing look fake imo.
>>16712814WWE is the best it's been since like 2016, but that bar is essentially>Hey some kino here and thereAEW is booked so haphazardly it can be a fun train wreck to watch. Honestly their backstage segments and Promos are better than the in ring shit which never seems memberable. But most wrestling is terrible. If you try to make everything a 10/10 nothing looks good. The problem is shitters don't get booked liked shitters
>>16712923>The big 4 PPVs are still worth watchingThis year's Summerslam was one of the worst ppvs I've ever seen in my 25+ years of watching. Survivor Series was alright. Very little of Mania did much for me. I feel like all that's left is the Rumble each year
>>16712927Holy fucking squeal. He couldn't even get past the first line because his piggie defenses kicked in to see the post was also just as critical of AEW. You dronies need legitimate help
>>16713117>there's a finisher that works on low card guys, but you have to use something stronger on a midcarder, and you save your final boss finisher only for the very best.More wrestlers need to realize this. I think the mentality has changed when they put matches together. Instead of>I need to show the audience I am strongIt's become >I need to show the audience I am a good workerAnd they do that by giving their opponent way too much offense. More AEW wrestlers need to start protecting their moves. If you aren't going to win, dont use your finisher.
>>16712973I can't speak for those years. There was a period where I dipped out on AEW all the same. But I started watching again around All In 2023 and since then I haven't felt like a single ppv has been a letdown or a bad show. If anything they've been the opposite and been consistently good if not great. It's the thing I don't get about AEW most. Because their ppvs always deliver yet there's such a disconnect between them and their weekly tv
>>16713074On top of being a 4 hour show, as far as I remember the matches got progressively bigger instead of spreading them out (ie: the old piss break women's match before the main event). Which makes sense in a real combat sports event but in wrestling it just makes watching a chore.
>>16713220What didn't you like about SummerSlam?
WCW TNA AEW Failed Muricans just dont want to give up the WWE its part of their culture
>>16712814This is the patrician take. They're both bad. WWE is for low IQ fat mouth breathing Mexicans like >>16712923. AEW has good matches but the booking is doo doo dog shit and Tony Khan will never learn or get better.
>>16713272I disagree. I don't think AEW matches get progressively bigger. Lately the opening matches have been some of the best on the show, usually followed by a hardcore match, then some heatless shit, then it picks up again towards the end.
>>16712814AEW was good until Phil broke Tony´s spirit.
>>16712814they both suck but aew is worse
>>16713306>good matcheskek
>>16712814has been absolutely killing it since late 2023, were literally in the best era since the Attitude Era, anyone who has major complaints about the product at the moment is either a retarded AEW Smark, an armchair booker who gets mad when his imagination doesnt play out,or both.
>>16714600I freakin love WWE. Great post.
>>16714600Sorry, I'm not anti-WWE by any stretch but it's mediocre at best.Best since Attitude Era? Sure. But anyone who pretends it's even in the same ballpark as that is either fooling themself or is a paid shill.
>>16714600Let's not pretend 2008-2019 WWE was watchable
>>16714600>anyone who has major complaints about the product at the momentI will complain as long as Michin, Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez are on my TV.
>>167146791998-2007 was great and 2008-2010 was okay, it was 2011 when it truly started to shitten up before getting good when Trips took over
>>16714600WWE is dog shit and unwatchable and everybody with any taste hates it
>>16714754i think your a fucking useless fat nigger with shit taste
>>16712814both shows have good momentshowever they are rare and buried under a mountain of shitthat's wrestling in every era though
>>16712814AEW is great though.
>>16712814Nah, both companies are pretty O.K.
>>16712814We'll always have NXT
>>16714738This checks out. There were some years in the later 2000s that I didn't feel like I enjoyed at the time but even looking back on and I feel nostalgic over. Those early 2010s though? Especially once you get to 2012 with the 3 hour Raw Supershow and the 90% recap Smackdowns? Completely unwatchable. Shit didn't get good again until the 2016 draft. And even then it was only Smackdown. But that SD Live era was gigadimes so it was enough. Thank god for early NXT too
