Without several people to lean on, the Rock can't talk worth a shit.
23 years ago he could accept that as part of his way to the top. Now he's on the board of directors, he's practically at the top and won't listen to anybody else.
That means there are no safety nets for him anymore, and that means he's gonna slip up and fall.
If he talks shit, the crowd that popped for his smack talk will still pop, but that's all they really popped for: a mixed guy who talked like his ethnic groups on live TV.
Now he's a guy with nothing to say, wasting people's time, stringing them along on a ride to nowhere, performing drunk.

What would young people say...
The Rock's lost his bus pass together with the rizz when he was added to the season last year.
