>Bob Uecker, the legendary baseball announcer and WWE Hall of Famer, has passed away at the age of 90. Known fondly as “Mr. Baseball,” Uecker made a lasting impact in the world of professional wrestling, especially during the late 1980s.>Uecker was a pivotal part of two memorable moments at WrestleMania. In 1987, he served as the special guest ring announcer for the historic main event between WWE Champion Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III. He returned the following year at WrestleMania IV, where he became both a ringside commentator and backstage interviewer. One of his most iconic moments came when he was choked by Andre the Giant backstage, after a few of his cheeky remarks set off the legendary wrestler. The image of Andre gripping Uecker’s neck has gone down as one of WWE’s most unforgettable clips from the 1980s.>In recognition of his memorable contributions to WWE, Uecker was inducted into the Celebrity Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2010.
