What in the hell is so difficult about writing a wrestling tv show that tries to tell coherent and sensible stories on a week-to-week basis that deliver something tangible by the end of their arcs? The way these jackasses over on wwe and aew's creative teams manage to barely maintain lukewarm temperature for their feuds, they might as well be replaced by actual children. This Death Riders bs in particular is so glaringly easy to tighten up and ''fix''. Always the same old shit with these jerkoffs, didn't get any clues from Lucha Underground.
>EVERYTHING HAS TO BE FAST NOW. >EVERYTHING IS ABOUT CLIPS>LONG TERM WHAT? THAT LONGTERM PROGRAM? LETS JUST DO FLIPPY SHIT, SPAM THE FINISHER, KICK OUT OF THE FINISHER A COUPLE TIMES TO CHEAPEN IT FOR FUTURE MATCHES AND GO HOME! PUT THE BELT ON ME? SURE ILL DEFEND IT WITH THE MATCH ABOVE 5-7 TIMES AND DROP IT SO WE CAN PASS A BELT AROUND ALSO CHEAPENING THAT.THE POPULATION HAS THE ATTENTION SPAN OF A GOLDFISH SO LURING THEM IN WITH FLIPPY SHIT TO TELL A QUICK POORLY WRITTEN STORY IS A GREAT WAY TO TELL STORIES AND BUILD GIMMICKSLooking at it from their side: Why give 100% effort when 50% effort gets the amount of eyes you want? The setup, production, tear down and travel alone are an effort by itself so why stretch it further? Fuck the fans. Its all about finding the right meme every 2-3 months to bridge from one major PPV to the next so they buy more merch and save our asses. If they come up short (which is often) they drag out a legend /celeb for cheap anything, drive that into the ground and repeat. The WWE vault is cool on the surface but it cheapens the current product because youre reminded what storytelling should be paced like versus this shit now. The lack of give a fuck is insane and folks praising Triple H are just bots lol. I think he knows it too but with the landscape the way it is, he is pushing forward with this data driven millisecond retard trash. womens us belt? really? same with the womens MITB, just end that stupid shit. >>SURVIVOR SERIES (NOVEMBER, 11)>>>ROYAL RUMBLE (JANUARY, 1)>>>>>WRESTLEMANIA (APRIL, 4) >>>>SUMMERSLAM (AUGUST, 8) >>SURVIVOR SERIES (NOVEMBER, 11)>>>ROYAL RUMBLE (JANUARY, 1) >>>>>WRESTLEMANIA (APRIL, 4) >>>>SUMMERSLAM (AUGUST, 8) booking these four events each year isnt hard but for paul levesque its a daily challenge for him and his crew. - mike rowe
>>16760537>THE POPULATION HAS THE ATTENTION SPAN OF A GOLDFISHThat's the problem right there. People have forgotten how to appreciate long-term storytelling. That's strange because the biggest show of the last decade, Game of Thrones, told an incredibly long and complex story. So do most of the animes, games and shows that go on to get critical acclaim. That's ironically why most of what WWE has done in the past two years has worked. They've gone back to longterm storytelling. The Bloodline story went on so long that viewers had to accept Roman as their champion. The story between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley started as far back as two years ago when they were tag champs together. This kind of storytelling trains the audience to appreciate every episode because it will have significance in the long run. AEW used to do a lot of callbacks but they've stopped doing that now and seemingly book shows week by week with no longterm plan in sight.
>>16760103>Always the same old shit with these jerkoffs, didn't get any clues from Lucha Underground.I was secretly, 1% foolishly optimistic that moving to Netflix would make WWE consider a format a bit more like Lucha Underground. LOL. It's so much better suited for the average Netflix user, or for anyone who enjoys storytelling at all. Shit the way they format and write their shows now is for.... I don't even know who it's for anymore. I seriously can't picture who would sit down to 3 hours of RAW live.
