The main, and perhaps only, reason why both WWE and AEW suck so bad is because they're both led by dull tastelets. Vince, for all his autism, at least managed to foster a unique variety show that was unlike anything else in the history of entertainment. These bums can't even be arsed to hire competent musicians for their theme songs. Pauletty gets an edge for his experience in wrestling, but otherwise him and Tony KWAB are two sides of the same indieriffic coin. It's a waste of talent and resources.

As much as I'm not a huge fan of most of what Vince did, I think you make a based point.
I always blamed Vince for the over-commercialization of WWE. But the product took much more interesting risks under his watch than it does now.
It also produced a lot more garbage. He was a mixed bag. But he understood that people were tuning in for spectacle. What hurt it creatively was that the company had to move in a more PG direction after ownership went public - suddenly the risks could be detrimental to the bottom line, which is what investors care most about.
