Corporations realized they can squeeze more money out of 35ish year old women and stopped catering to the interests of young men. Women can't be the drivers of culture so we've been stagnating since the early 2010s. I think the clouds are breaking through and we'll see a shift soon but it's been a brutal 12-15 years.
