Explain in your own words how this match was bad. AKA: do not use recycled dirtsheet narratives.
>>
I saw 2 disgusting, repulsive, repugnant, atrocious, hideous, retarded and subhuman things
>>
I didn't watch it
>>
I stopped watching pro wrestling after Kofi beat Daniel Bryan
I only started watching again after the 2023 rumble
>>
>>16822487
>red light
>big hammer good, little hammer bad
>DQ in a FUCKING HIAC
one of the worst matches in WWE history
>>
I live in Sacramento and decided against going to this show. I was second guessing myself because I thought it would be great to see a HIAC match live. Now I really wish I would have gone.
>>
>>16822487
It was a HIAC that ended in a no contest because the ref thought it was too violent. The fuck more do you need? It was a match that never should have been booked in the first place since they clearly didn't want to commit to either guy winning
>>
>>16822487
I hate both the wrestlers. Hence, it’s bad.
>>
they broke kayfabe and had the ref say no colby dont do this this isnt you then he smashed a giant cartoon mallet on an undead demon clown
>>
>>16822487
This is the lowest IQ board on 4chan.
>>
>>16822499
Turn on your monitor
>>
This show was also thee last time they did that watchalong thing on WWE's Youtube channel, right? I remember X-Pac shitting all over the booking
>>
The red lighting made it unbearable to watch. The referee allowing Seth to toss a pile of chairs at Bray but stop him when he pulled out the sledgehammer felt like a typical Hunter stroking his ego moment. HIAC is a no DQ match type so ending it in a DQ was retarded, as X-Pac pointed out. It was retarded too when Braun vs Roman ended in a no contest
now the pros: Bray burying Jasethy’s finisher into oblivion by no selling it even after the 6th time
>>
>>16822522
It was a trainwreck but not trainwreck kino.
>>
>>16822594
Idk why but this post made me chuckle, summed up perfectly
>>
>>16822594
didnt the ref also say “there is a man under those chairs” to add to the kayfabe breaking or was that made up by /asp/
>>
>>16822499
>>16822519
>>16822524
>>16822576
OP said WITHOUT recycled dirtsheet narratives.

Try again.
>>
It was genuinely the greatest thing that could have ever happened to WWE. It ran off all the virgin smarks and shitchanters in one moment. The actual fans stuck around to see the vision through.
>>
>>16822650
Nah, I think there were watch alongs later on but with corporate goons like MacAfee and backstage interviewers, obviously to avoid another case like as you mentioned X-Pac shitting all over the match live
>>
>>16822487
The red lights plus red cage was dumb.

The fiend mask looks really stupid fully illuminated.

The fiend barely did anything, Rollins just attacked him for 10 minutes.

It buried every finisher and weapon since the fiend just got up anyway.

The ref calling Rollins "Colby". I don't think he's ever been referred to like that on TV.

Why would the ref care what two wrestlers do in a hell on a cell match? That doesn't make any sense. Wrestlers have done worse to each other in WWE without the ref stepping in.

It ended in a DQ. Again, why? We've seen guys get thrown off cages, through the stage, set on fire, and beaten to a bloody pulp. But a hammer is grounds for a DQ in a No DQ match???

Seth's gay acting.

It was built up poorly and lead to nothing. Everything Bray Wyatt did was shit.
>>
>>16822487
It was bad because it was very forgettable. There is a 99% chance I was posting in the gamethread btw. I had to read this thread to remember anything.
>>
>>16822596
you don't get around to other boards very much, do you?
>>
>>16822487
The red filter
>>
it was so bad the crowd start chanting "AEW"
>>
didnt pop me
>>
>>16823281
>recycled dirtsheet narratives
these are all basic observable facts, you fat retard. X-pac pointed them out the night of, during the watch party. no dirtsheets involved.
>>
>>16822487
What are the recycled dirtsheet narratives?
>>
>>16825974
valid criticisms based on firsthand observations
>>
>>16822487
I haven't watched this match, haven't watched anyone talk about this match.
No hell in a cell should end in a dq.
Especially if one of the participants is on the field Kane undertaker etc status.
I'm sure these thoughts were said at some point but I didn't see them or hear them and I feel those reasons are valid enough.
I still haven't watched this match because of its gay ass fucking finish
>>
>>16822487
the match itself wasnt horrible but not a barn burner either. The ending is what people remember and it was bullshit
>>
>>16825999
Almost made me spittake
>>
When the entire arena is screaming RESTART THE MATCH and chanting for the name of your main competitor, it's safe to say you fucked up
>>
COLBY YA AIN'T FINNA GOTTA DO THIS PAL, YA AIN'T BOUTA FINNA DO IT. THIS AIN'T YOU PAL
>>
>>16826083
Did they really? Lmao
I don't even watch wrestling I just like the backstage drama and shitshows
>>
>>16822487
>do not use recycled dirtsheet narratives.
>the entire thread is dirtsheet smark tranny bullshit
Kek
>>
>>16826093
They did, but it was also during AEW's hottest honeymoon period where Dynamite had just started and morale was insanely high for it. They never should've booked this match, it ruined Seth's reign and turned the Fiend into a joke
>>
>>16826094
>you said something true, but also Alvarez also said it once so it doesn't count now
antismarks really do finna be like this
>>
>>16826020
WWE's excuse was that it wasn't officially a DQ it was a "referee stoppage" because they were concerned about the Fiend's welfare, that's how the tried to weasel out of booking two popular guys and refusing to have either of them lose
>>
>>16826112
Is the morale and situation for AEW as grim as everyone here says it is? I only get wrestling news from here and don't know if you guys are exaggerating
>>
>>16826181
>Is the morale and situation for AEW as grim as everyone here says it is?
No, that's literally just E-drone headcanon and baseless rumors started by Indian clickbate.
>>
>>16826181
No, it's fine. anti-AEW posters live in their own fantasy land and have even started making fake AI audio of AEW people to keep pushing their doom narrative, it's just a recreational past time for these people
>>
>>16826213
>>16826215
I mean I also listen to cornette so it's not just people here. I have a feeling you guys are die-hard AEW fans which is fine but I'm looking for actual objective answers if possible
>>
>>16826229
Cornette makes money out of shitting on AEW, that's his incentive. the doom posters live for backstage wrestling drama cause they've got nothing going on in their lives, that's their incentive. I don't know how long you've been following AEW but they've been saying it's on the verge of collapse since the day it started.

Nah, it's great! No one watches the shows anymore either live or in person, but it's great, great, great! The ones who point out AEW's flaws? Well, they're just grifters! AEW is now getting beat by NXT every week, but that's great! 2-15 against NXT? Great! 100 weeks of no milly? GREAT!

Isn't this a ding dong diddly disingenuous premise OP? Virtually every aspect of the match, from the in-ring action, the internal logical, the storyline, and the trajectory of both characters has been roundly criticized. You won't find a stone unturned when it comes to criticizing this match, so it's virtually impossible to say something about it that some critic hasn't expressed in one form or another.
>>
>>16822487
It was retarded. The story was the Fiend couldn't feel pain or be stopped. But they didn't want the Fiend to win but they didn't have a conceivable way for him to lose. So they do a DQ in a No DQ match so he can win but not get the title.

Then on top of that, it was big fat Bray Wyatt farting around while Seff Franklin trying to brawl instead of the shit he's good at. And it was red because fuck you, that's why.

Yes.
>>
>>16822487
the match was so bad it ended rollins' face of the company run and forced him to copy jay white's gimmick to keep his job
>>
>>16826266
Dynamite has more US live viewers than RAW
>>
>>16822487
unpopular opinion time: the fiend vs seth rollins at hell in a cell is a master class in story telling and i dont give a hot damn what you think, everyone is always saying how it doesnt make sense that it ended in a DQ but was the referee just supposed to let the fiend die?. when i watch that match all i see is a story about how the fiend got into seth's head and drove him so far that he was literally willing to kill him. at the end the fiend even got up just to show he was playing seth like a fiddle. not only were they showing that everyone that faces the fiend changes but they were showing that the fiend is even stronger mentally then in the ring and that hes strongest weapon is mind games. they also forshadowed seths heel turn by showing how far he is willing to go to win.
>>
>>16826516
>>
>>16826802
Arguing with this observable fact is silly, yes.
>>
>>16822487
My own personal gripes
>The cage looked bad and the red made parts of the match hard to see
>Seths acting was awful
>The Fiend is a lame character to begin with
>a DQ in a HIAC match was retarded
I dont read dirtsheets so sorry if there is overlap
>>
>>16826181
Here's a non biased answer: yes the backstage shit with AEW has been overblown but there is still friction there and you can tell a lot of guys aren't happy. The morale is nowhere near as high as it was a few years ago.
>>
>>16826808
>>
>>16826846
Thank you. is the situation with fan interest, booking, etc as bad as people say as well?
>>
>>16826868
I don't think it's as bad as people say it is, but I haven't really looked into it much.
>>
>>16826861
>mindbroken into posting excerpts of Meltz tweets
>>
>>16826868
The "people" decrying the booking of AEW in 2025 are the exact same "people" that were doing it the better part of a decade ago. It's a grift. AEW is always just 2 more weeks from going under according to these washouts.
>>
>>16827128
>>
>>16827131
Well has it gotten worse or not? That doesn't answer the guy's question
>>
>>16827223
It did though. Anon is implying the AEW naysayers are full of shit
>>
>>16823287
>The actual fans stuck around to see the vision through.
what fucking vision
>>
>>16822487
don't remember this match or the feud that led up to it. being memorable is more important than the good or bad thing.
>>
>>16823346
>It ended in a DQ.
It was ref stoppage
>>
>>16827223
from when? 2021? sure. 2024? nope.
