They had Mariah saying she needed her there for her title celebration like a week or two after she won the belt. Mina got tied up in visa stuff and Stardom obligations. Which is why they kept touching on it but then she'd do another quick 2-3 week filler feud with someone else. So what should've happened in September didn't get to happen all the way until the end of November and then they had to rush through their feud anyway to blow it off on Dynamite because Mina had to be back in Japan the weekend of Worlds End. It was good for what they did with it but it should've been able to be a lot more. May's reign is a victim of shitty booking circumstances if not just shitty booking at times. They really should've just abandoned the Mina stuff because it ate up all the time until Toni was ready to come back anyway

It took someone you hadn't even seen on tv before, if not for some people who they hadn't even heard of, and it got the crowd invested in her and Toni's story, and it built Mariah up to the point that by the time they got to All In that she needed to become champion. She'll lose it back to Toni but still she's made. And all just within her first year and some odd months on tv
