I'm ok with HIMAWARI challenging Shoko for the title. In her first match even with the little bit of awkwardness in the beginning she did good, but she didn't have that holy shit wow moment that will make people to want her instantly signed somewhere. I don't know how over will she be to that crowd, you'd think less over than kamiyu, maybe same level as wakana. She's not winning obviously, just another defense for shoko before the shotzi match, but if she still gets the match I assume court bauer or whoever sees some potential, which is promising. I think they should realize a lot of HIMAWARI's schtick is facials expressions and reactions so someone clues the camera guys for example to pan in on her face after the drop down spot and things like that.

That's clearly 21 different people voting for super mega raped
>>
All of it's a work, by the way. Mizuki is going to win and as she's celebrating and hugging it out with Miu, the lights are going to go out and Maki, Moka, Ivy and Yoppy will be in the ring. They'll brutally lay out everyone including Kiso (who will blade), and they'll drag Koda into the ring by his tie, upon which they will absolutely DECIMATE him. Over the next couple months it'll be more or less a carbon copy of every invading heel group storyline. Ivy will win the IP and Moka/Yoppy will win the tag belts. Kamiyu will also turn on Wakana during this period and join the group. Mahiro will also join as the Vincent. This will all culminate at Ittenyon where Maki will win the PoP from Mizuki. This will be the catalyst for Tam to debut and help save the company. 'd 'o.

This. The first two times it was against Suzume. One was in Japan and then they ran it back in America. She was definitely winning it this time around. Koda also wouldnt give Arisu the belt anyways. She got the finals spot in the TPC. It wouldnt make sense for her to lose the TPC and lose the chance of challenging for the POP belt just to go on to win the IP belt. Thats not how Koda does things.

it's only been like 3 weeks. it really doesn't matter. it's just a way to make Miyu seem important since she's no longer the ace
>>
>>18832541
AJPW got the cover this week, so they really do scrape the bottom of the barrel.

But WP is a big show, and they kept inviting that magazine guy, so maybe.
>>
>>18833392
It's a completely meaningless title they gave Miyu as thanks for not leaving.
>>
miyu has been noticably more active on sns promoting matches and shows and stuff since she was made leader
>>
>>18833470
She's always been good about that, even when she was in America. She'd post about watching shows on the massive time difference, or checking out the stream backstage directly after a show she was working.

I don't love her work but she bleeds TJPW.

Meanwhile you had Maki absolutely checked out for several years at this point.
>>
So what are we thinking with the match swaps? I assume they still brought Priscilla in to win her match, whether it's against Rika or Arisu, but giving her a belt obligates them to bring her back, and she's pretty busy in the states (unless they send someone to try and get it back, like when they sent Hikari to London to face Alex Windsor)

Meanwhile Rika vs Pom with special rules means Pom can still win via nonsense, like if it's a cooking contest.

They should have let Pom do double duty and work the Ironman match too. And if she won that, she'd immediately have to defend it against Rika.
>>
>>18833392
https://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/articles/-/356893
>According to those involved, the “leader” is essentially the players’ association president, someone expected to unify and represent the players.
>>
I think that Arisu got over big in the TPC and it would be stupid to undercut that by not putting the belt on her, but what do I know?
>>
>>18833493
>They should have let Pom do double duty and work the Ironman match too. And if she won that, she'd immediately have to defend it against Rika.
that's honestly too clever and complicated for TK
Max defended it twice iirc outside of Japan in the very short amount of time they had it. If Kelly wins it she can defend it at her shindies too. In my head Kelly was winning against Rika and Arisu was winning against Jada. I can believe TK would decide to give the IP to Kelly if she's expected to drop it at ittenyon like Max
>>
>>18833500
did they really say there would be multiple leaders cause desu none of the veterans besides miyu have the qualities to be leader right now.
>>
>>18833529
multiple leaders as in over time e.g. miyu graduates
>>
>>18833529
what qualities does miyu have to be a leader?
>>
>>18833562
in terms of keeping the peace, she would take initiative to keep backstage drama free. she wouldnt be afraid to step in when needed. she can also talk and give advice. she has a long career and has also traveled around the world.
>>

>so I fiteo yu, false riida Yammy-san
>>
Miu would make the best leader since we know she isn't afraid to call people out and she's already been the leader of UUG for 8 years
>>
>>18833577
hating to do something doesnt mean you dont do it especially when its expected of you especially now that she has the role.
>>
>>18833591
Miu is the ace now. That’s why they made the meaningless leader shit for Miyu in the first place
>>
>>18833593
Nothing is expected of her the leader role is just pr bs
>>
>>18833500
This is a whole bunch of nothing words and doesn't actually explain what a leader does.
>>
>>18833577
Best leaders are those with responsibility thrust upon them, maybe? Or she was there. She already represented the company in front of the government.

>>18833511
>>18833525
If they had a plan for Arisu to win then I think they would not pivot. But it depends on PK's availability. Max was clearly coming back to drop the belt to Arai so they probably didn't care if Max defended it in the UK and Canada first. Maybe they think PK can give the belt some shine and then she can drop it to Arisu or somebody in a rematch?
>>
>>18833591
Miu is too busy to police the entire locker room, and also she's not the most veteran person around, so the social hierarchy would be thrown off. Imagine if Miu had to tell her seniors how to behave?

The role it was compared to is a baseball thing (which means it was definitely Koda's idea and Koda himself who talked to ToSpo). So we can assume the responsibilities will be the same
>First, every team must have exactly one players’ association president. All players belong to the Japan Professional Baseball Players Association, and the president represents the team, gathering and voicing the opinions of its members. In general terms, this role is comparable to the head of a labor union. Without a certain level of achievement and standing within the team, it would be difficult to gather opinions or persuade others, so the role typically falls to one of the team’s key players. Sometimes, the president also presents the players’ collective opinions directly to the team’s front office.

The IP match was the weakest by far anyway, now it's actually a little bit of upgrade. I do think Gidi wins. But if Moka never got what feels like "thank you" title win before leaving for whatever reason, Suzume vs Jada Stone was never getting booked for the 3rd time and we would have gotten a match with some build at least.

I am mildly more familiar with Priscilla but Jada has more recent familiarity with the roster and probably would have had more chemistry with Arisu. We know she's enthusiastic about the product, at least from her commentary. Meanwhile PK hasn't worked a friendly ring in 7 years.

Jada was also booked for WP and the show the week after in Shinkiba 1st Ring. Maybe she would have been there to show off the belt that she was winning/set up a challenger.
>>
>In order to get a super muscular body, Arisu Endo, who had just debuted as a pro wrestler, knocked on the door of Ichigo Gym, where active pro wrestler Shuji Kondo serves as a trainer. Since Shuji Kondo had wrestled in the WRESTLE-1 ring, they weren’t complete strangers — but, as she recalls, “We had never actually spoken before.”
>When she told him that she wanted to build muscles like Saiki-san, Kondo was understandably taken aback, smiling wryly as he said, “Well… that physique is something special — it’s not easy to achieve.” But regardless, her weekly personal training sessions began.
>“I could tell my body was getting bigger almost as soon as I started training. My traps grew more than I expected, and when I looked in the mirror, I was like, ‘Whoa!’ (laughs). Even in matches, when I’d apply a move, I’d surprise myself at how easily I could lift my opponent — and that’s when I realized just how much strength I’d gained. Seeing those results reflected directly in the ring made training so much fun.”
>In personal training, she didn’t just build muscle — she also learned many movements that were directly useful for pro wrestling.
>“For example, I learned training to improve my jumping power. One of my specialty moves is the Bandaisan — a step-up missile dropkick where I hop from the second rope up to the top rope and launch off. Without the jumping power, weight control, and balance I learned here, I wouldn’t be able to pull off that move.”
>She has matches almost every weekend, plus daily training at the dojo, so personal training is just once a week. Still, when she had out-of-town matches and couldn’t make it to the gym, rather than just saying, “Oh well, nothing I can do this week,” she was so motivated to build more muscle and train harder that she would go to the gym on her own and work out by herself — a habit she continues even now.
>>
>>18833886
>While Arisu Endo now boasts a well-balanced physique perfectly suited for a pro wrestler, she still hasn’t quite reached the “super muscular body” she was aiming for. You might think that’s because she’s adjusting her training to maintain a body more suited for wrestling — but that’s not the case. The truth is, she’s been dealing with a certain problem of her own—
>“I probably shouldn’t say this, but… you know, to really put on muscle, you also have to get serious about controlling your diet, right? And I just can’t do that.” (laughs wryly) “I love carbs. Things like ramen — the kind with a thick layer of back fat on top. Of course, I’ve been given meal plans that are good for building muscle, but when I hear ‘protein,’ I’m just like, ‘Ehh…’ (laughs)”
>Of course, since she’s not a bodybuilder, her diet isn’t actually a problem, and right now her condition is “excellent” in every way.
>“Maybe because I’m always moving my body, I’m constantly in great shape. And maybe not putting myself under strict dietary restrictions actually helps reduce stress, which keeps me feeling good. I’m 27 now, but honestly, it feels like I’m still 20. On my days off, I usually sleep for about 14 hours, so I never feel tired at all — if anything, I wake up regretting how I wasted the whole day sleeping!” (laughs)
>However, she says there has been a small change lately.
>“I can’t eat greasy ramen anymore, even though I used to love it. And when I go out for yakiniku, I can’t handle the fatty cuts of meat either. I guess my body just won’t accept it anymore? On the flip side, I’ve finally discovered how good green peppers taste — I used to hate them, but now I love them. I can’t believe I avoided something this delicious for 27 years!”
>>
>>18833698

>— Your way of life?
>Kazashiro: Yes. I honestly couldn’t see anything beyond Tokyo Joshi. I joined with the feeling that “I was born here, I will live here, and I’ll die here.” From the moment I became a trainee, I thought, “I’ll stay here until Tokyo Joshi itself tells me, ‘You’re fired.’”

>Known for her specialty in competitive eating, which has made her a popular figure on TV shows, and for the big response to her digital photo book release, Wakana Uehara is thriving in many different fields. And now, she’s about to seize a major opportunity inside the wrestling ring as well. On September 20, at Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling’s autumn spectacular WRESTLE PRINCESS VI, held at Ota Ward Gymnasium, she will challenge for the tag team titles.
>Though her career may look smooth sailing from the outside, she admits she’s had plenty of struggles — but meeting the partner who became her strongest tag teammate has begun to completely transform her wrestling life.
>“It might sound weird to say about myself, but I’ve always been a bit of a ‘good girl.’ And apparently, that side of me was showing even in the ring…”
>From the start, Uehara drew attention for her refined looks and outstanding figure, but she couldn’t quite break through to the next level. The reason, she believes, lies in the comment above.
>“I don’t know if it’s ‘good girl’ or ‘too nice,’ but even though I’m a pro wrestler, I’ve always been bad at conflict (laughs). Whenever I felt trouble might start, I’d try to avoid it. Rather than assert myself and say, ‘Me! Me!’ I’d hold back. I wasn’t even aware of it, but maybe that showed in my matches too. Maybe I wasn’t holding back on purpose, but I wasn’t showing my full self in the ring.”
>This kind of mindset could have led her into a prolonged slump — but then, her savior appeared: Yuki Kamifuku, the senior wrestler with whom she now forms the tag team “Ober Eats.”
>“When I first entered this world, I didn’t know much about wrestling, so I studied by checking the other wrestlers’ social media. And the one who caught my eye as ‘so interesting!’ was Kamifuku. Her words might be harsh or strong, but you can really feel the love behind them. She became my ‘oshi’ — the one I look up to most.
>>
>>18837493

>>
Is Misao an engineer?
>>
>>18837589
>Ever since then, I kept telling the company, ‘I want to team with Kamifuku!’ (laughs) And when it finally came true, my wrestling life changed! Not just in matches — she gives me advice about so many things. Even before wrestling, I was the kind of person who couldn’t really talk to others about my problems — I’d just bottle everything up. But Kamifuku saw right through me and said, ‘You’ve got something you want to say, right? Go on, I’m listening!’ She really saved me.”
>By talking with her senior, she started to see many of the areas where she was falling short as a pro wrestler.
>“I’m kind of clumsy by nature. And on top of that, I get nervous easily, so in matches I sometimes panic at crucial moments. But when I’m teaming with Kamifuku, I feel safe, like I can really fight with confidence. Thanks to her, I’ve been able to start getting results in my matches, and little by little I’ve built up confidence. There are so many matches I never would have won if I’d been fighting alone. I’m really glad I got to team with her.”
>At around the same time, another big turning point arrived — last November’s U.S. tour, which Kamifuku also took part in.
>“Wrestling in the U.S. was such a great learning experience. The fans’ reactions were completely different, and during the matches I kept thinking, ‘Wow, this is the moment they pop for!’ It was a surprise, but also so exciting. I’d only ever wrestled in Japan before, so everything was fresh and stimulating. I tried to make myself look bigger, even just in the way I stood in the ring. And since we had so much time together, I was able to talk to Kamifuku about all kinds of things too (laughs).”
>To turn that newfound confidence into absolute conviction, Wakana Uehara will challenge for the tag team titles on September 20 at Ota Ward Gymnasium. Her partner, of course, is Yuki Kamifuku. And the defending champions are Kyoraku Kyomei. For Uehara, this champion team carries special significance.
>>
>>18837592
>“The reason I decided to try pro wrestling in the first place was because I saw a match with Shoko Nakajima (March 19, 2022, at Ryogoku Kokugikan). It was her challenge for Miyu Yamashita’s Princess of Princess Championship. She kept getting knocked down but kept getting back up, and in the end she became the champion. Watching her that day moved me so much! To be able to challenge for the tag belts against the very person who inspired me and changed my life… it’s really overwhelming. If I can become ‘the Nakajima from that day’ for someone else, that would be the best feeling in the world.”
>Teaming with her favorite wrestler and facing her idol — the ultimate form of oshi-katsu. But fate added yet another twist to the story. In the September 7 prelude match in Kitazawa, Uehara took a strike from Hyper Misao and injured her front tooth. As a result, she had to miss the September 13 Fukushima show. It’s not the kind of thing that creates deep personal grudges, but fans can’t help but think about it. With a touch of real-life grit added to this ultimate fan dream, this title match has become even more compelling.
>Although Wakana Uehara has challenged for the belts twice before, she has yet to hold a championship as a pro wrestler.
>“I’m always the one carrying the championship belts to the ring as a second, practically every day (laughs). If I can win the belts this time, I want to bring one to the next TV show taping and show it to Sone-san, saying, ‘I became a champion!’ I’ve been appearing on shows with Sone-san since before I even became a wrestler, but that’s the one report I haven’t been able to give her yet…”
>>
>>18837595
>The “Sone-san” she’s referring to is Gal Sone, the famous competitive eater. Uehara has co-starred with her nearly 20 times in the food challenge segments of Ariyoshi Seminar (NTV). Being able to finally show her a championship belt would be the ultimate way of repaying her, and on top of that, it would be the perfect way to promote herself to viewers. Even now, pro wrestling clips sometimes pop up in the corner of the screen during those eating challenges — but the word “Champion” carries a whole different weight, an unbeatable power word, especially for casual viewers who don’t normally watch wrestling.
>Her dream — the ultimate goal beyond simply cheering for her favorite — is now within reach. Can Wakana Uehara make it all come true?
>>
https://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/articles/-/360040
>Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling’s autumn big show, “WRESTLE PRINCESS VI” (20th, Ota City General Gymnasium), will see “Ober Eats” — Yuki Kamifuku (32) and Wakana Uehara (29) — fired up as they head into their Princess Tag Team Championship match.
>The two will compete in the semi-main event, challenging the reigning champions, the team of Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao, known as “Kyoraku Kyomei.” Looking ahead to the big match, Kamifuku declared, “I get to challenge Nakajima-san, who is like a teacher to me, and Misao-san, who is close friends with her. I want them to think, ‘We’ve got great juniors,’ and I want Wakana to feel, ‘I have the best senpai.’”
>The two share a bond that resembles that of a mentor and a protégé. With five and a half more years of experience than Uehara, Kamifuku describes her partner as “like a little sister.” She explains, “It’s not like I never had juniors before, but this is the first time I’ve really taken responsibility to properly look after someone. It might sound presumptuous, but it’s the first time I’ve felt this way. It really makes me think, ‘I can’t let her see me looking lame.’”
>Uehara, who says Kamifuku’s advice has given her the push she needed to grow, smiled and added, “Ever since I started teaming with Kamifuku-san, I’ve been hearing more people say, ‘You’ve really changed.’”
>Both of them are very conscious of their image “toward the outside world,” actively posting on social media and appearing in the media. Kamifuku said coolly, “I want to increase the number of people who think, ‘I want to try pro wrestling.’ If they see me, maybe they’ll think, ‘Even I could do it.’ I’d love to be the reason someone takes that first step.”
>>
>>18837616
>Uehara, speaking passionately, added, “I want to spread the name of Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling even more. When I go to entertainment shoots, people often ask me, ‘Which organization are you from?’ And when I tell them, they often say, ‘Oh, the other one.’ That’s frustrating, so going forward, I want Tokyo Joshi to be mentioned as one of the big, well-known promotions.”
>To prove their bond — and to amplify their message — they are determined to take those belts no matter what.Uehara nodded in agreement, adding, “Right now we are confident that ‘we’re the strongest tag team,’ and we want to take the belts as proof of that.”

>Come to think of it, I forgot to tell Chidori that the Ōta Ward Tournament is this week. Since I suspect Chidori secretly watches Wrestle Universe on the iPad when I’m not home, I made sure to promote it. (*Just the audio)
>[Additional note] Usually, when I talk to him, his little “meows” are a lot more cheerful (like the meow at the start), but when I told him about the Ōta Ward Tournament, it felt more like a low-energy “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” kind of meow... Well, Chidori has a big match of his own coming up too... (a health checkup) (I want to get it done this month)
>Wait a second! My cat just learned a new move!! [iPad Screen-Off Move] When the owner is watching a video on the iPad, he bites the corner of the screen, which presses the power button and turns the screen off. I thought it was a coincidence, so I turned the video back on— and he turned it off the exact same way again... No way...
>He once used the [PC Monitor Smash] move, but since the damage from that one was just too much, the [iPad Screen-Off] move feels like a much more sophisticated (and polite) technique. Very technical.

>Modern pro wrestling often revolves around faction rivalries, but that isn’t the only way to succeed. Some promotions focus on creating buzz by frequently staging dramatic angles and involving other organizations. Meanwhile, All Japan Pro Wrestling maintained its tradition of hosting a few carefully planned Nippon Budokan events each year, where they showcased high-level matches. In Tokyo Joshi Pro, the absence of faction wars is actually one of its defining traits — and perhaps even a strength. “Pro wrestling isn’t just about hatred and hostility,” Koda explained. “Trash talk fits well in the social media era — it’s easy to tear someone down with just a few words. But I believe some people get tired of that or feel uncomfortable with it. If I were to draw a broad comparison, it’s like New Japan and All Japan in the 1990s. New Japan built its stories through heated rivalries and drama, while All Japan relied on match quality to tell its stories. If I had to compare, Tokyo Joshi is more like All Japan. We don’t have Budokan-level events yet, so the scale is different, but we focus on building our success through consistent match quality across our scheduled events. That’s the path we’re following.” In the past, All Japan Pro Wrestling was often described as an isolationist promotion, relying heavily on matches between its own roster members to elevate match quality and earn fan loyalty. While some fans have expressed a desire for Tokyo Joshi to engage in interpromotional battles, Koda remains firm in his stance.
