>[New Japan Shun Skywalker loses to EVIL
>Attempt to form an alliance including NOAH’s OZAWA collapses

>NJPW’s villainous unit House of Torture held a special event where Dragongate’s Shun Skywalker was “purged” by EVIL.

>The event was held under EVIL’s theme of “purging.” Match order was announced on the day, and in a surprise, EVIL and Shun appeared in the first match. The crowd buzzed.

>Before the bell, Shun took the mic and asked EVIL: “Do you know the ‘Three Great Justices of Japanese Pro Wrestling’?”
>“In this pro-wrestling world overflowing with pretty words, there are those who continue to uphold true justice. EVIL, you’re one of the Three Great Justices. EVIL, Shun Skywalker… and the third is OZAWA (NOAH).”

>Shun is currently aligned with OZAWA and called for forming a united front including EVIL. “This is my proposal. I want you to make the right decision,” he said, extending his hand. However, EVIL attempted to grab him and go for a modified osotogari. Negotiations collapsed; no cross-promotion alliance was formed.

>In a back-and-forth struggle, Shun caused a misfire when Dick Togo interfered with a powder attack, accidentally hitting EVIL instead. Shun nailed a front high kick and a moonsault knee drop, then went for the SSW (spinning Blue Thunder).

>But then the arena went dark. Whether a momentary opening was created or not, when the lights came back on Shun’s mask had been torn off. As he scrambled to cover his face, he was hit with a low blow and then put down with EVIL.

>Shun appeared backstage with his face covered by a jersey. “EVIL, that method of yours is indeed very ‘pure,’ worthy of the ‘clean’ in ‘purge.’ But even if you have purity, you lack correctness,” he said with a fearless smile. He added: “Just like counting strokes with the character for ‘correct,’ you’d better start piling up proper actions. Otherwise, nights like this won’t be ‘correct’ or ‘pure’ for you—they’ll be sad.”

So who ended up the most successful pupil of Kensuke Sasaki between Nakajima, Miyahara, and Kitamiya? Nakajima ended up the one closest to Sasaki but I'm tempted to say Kento since Kento became an actual ace.

>Tetsuya Naito & Bushi at #wXw16Carat Gold & at #wXwDeadEnd

>Last week, Los Tranquilos de Japon unfortunately had to withdraw their participation in a wXw event at short notice. I also feel like AJPW is wanting to use him as a guy to help build credibility to their younger talent since they're throwing Omori at him now.

kind of funny that at first they only wanted reveal the main event without the other cards/participants and only a week after they decided post show the participants (and that card) to get more people to buy tickets, since only the counter and reserved seats are sold out
i knew what they wanted to do, no bashing, but baka gaijin is too niche to get a sold out with no cards announced like ishimori mucha

Night 1 of World's Strongest Tag League was awesome. I'll watch Night 2 later today but the card looks to have more filler on it in comparison. I wish AJPW had the camera work of their bigger shows all the time though. It'd do wonders for the product.

IDK how it works with wrestlers signed to a promotion, if any promotion works as management for them or the individual person is the one who look for the side hustles.

Good. I feel bad for ajpw fans but this shi is no joke. Going around with an expired license for a year is terrible... not to mention that this happening after the death of a junior is cursed
>>
>>19352321
Yuma definitely deserves to be punished for it, if only because this kind of reckless shit gives AJPW bad press. It'll hurt the upcoming shows a bit not to have him but at least AJPW has a pretty good set of guys to work with right now and AJPW seems pretty good about calling in freelancers in a pinch if they have to.

I don't think Rising Hayato needs to apologize. If anything I'm glad AJPW got the Atsuki/Hayato vs Yumas match before this happened because it was a solid match.
>>
>In normal society, if someone gets into an accident without a license, they would normally be fired. That's too lenient. They should be forced to quit.
>How can a wrestler who only has 5 or 6 matches a month not notice that he needs to renew his license?
>Aoyagi's apology (?) is so remorseful it's like an elementary school student's reflection, I'm speechless. Even if I give him the benefit of the doubt and say that this is all Aoyagi can write, he should be allowed to post it after being checked and proofread by All Japan.
>If this was New Japan, he'd probably be fired
>There are also harsh comments on Yahoo! Comments questioning the character of all the professional wrestlers.
>Three months of suspension is too lenient no matter how you look at it.
>This will make professional wrestling look bad again. Even Fuwa's return doesn't give a good image. "It's a different company!" "It's a different organization!" - those kinds of excuses won't work. The general public thinks "professional wrestling" is bad.
>All Japan has closed itself off to the outside world and hasn't given anything good back to the world of professional wrestling, yet this scandal is giving the whole world a negative image.
>>
>>19355410
>I mean, why didn't they just give him an indefinite suspension at least as a formality? They're just declaring it to be lenient.
>A three-month suspension is like the period of time you get for shoplifting from a convenience store.
>Usually, after punishment and negotiations with the other party involved in the accident are settled, a suspension is decided. But with three months, it seems like he'll be playing while the trial proceeds. Whenever All Japan gets embroiled in various disputes, their handling of it exposes how amateurish they are.
>Aoyagi is a character who sells himself as a laid-back guy, so it's all the more disappointing.
If he returns and plays that kind of character again, everyone will be turned off.
>The question is, can a wrestler of the same rank as Tsuji in New Japan or Kiyomiya in Noah be fired immediately?
>There's no way All Japan Pro Wrestling has a hard schedule, it's an indie organization that only has 4 shows a month and is practically a side job lol

i bet none of these people actually watch (or would ever watch) ajpw anyway. if the nagao incident didn't hurt ajpw's business in any noticeable way then i doubt this will either
>>
>>19355468
AJPW has a pretty loyal fanbase. I'm annoyed Yuma did this but I don't know why these comments would think AJPW wound fire one of their main eventers and merch movers. On top of that if they fire Yuma they'd risk Atsuki not staying which would cost them their junior ace and another major fan favorite.
>>
>>19355468
i think nagao's incident backlash was not as bad as this one because there is no culprit aside blaming ajpw, which is pretty vague meanwhile in this case people can say what they said
>>19355519
because like some comments said, it's something that normally would fire anyone from any company
but the situation here is quite complicated like you said, don't think ajpw is capable to take that choice

The answers will vary by anon since everyone watches different things. I watch AJPW but it might not be everyone's cup of tea because they don't run a lot of shows most of the time and many of them are hardcam shows and heavy on comedy but when they do bigger shows the camera work is better and the wrestlers go all out. On weekends Webmbro does a thread that usually features quite a few different companies so it's worth stopping by when he does and get a taste from his posts. He usually always has stuff from NJPW, NOAH, and Dragon Gate plus he watches some AJPW and other stuff if he has time.

addendum to be more specific for anyone who is interested: usually around the start of a month they announce the new portraits set for the whole roster. hey gonna sell at every venue,
around mid month they announce the lottery portraits, those can be bought only online. they are four items but random and include the whole roster. generally japanese fans trade them between each other.
around the end of the month they announce the dates of the online autographs session and the online only portraits (doesn't include the whole roster) . they give you two days circa to do your order, in that window you can also buy the portraits they sell at the venue (not the lottery one), cheki and square cheki. the cheki are 3.different photos taken by the player, if you order the whole set you get all the cheki but if you order 1/2 or more than 3 it can be randomized while the square cheki is just 1. everything will get signed.
i hope this wasn't confusing, there is a ddt goods account

>if you order the whole set you get all the cheki but if you order 1/2 or more than 3 it can be randomized while the square cheki is just 1
so if you get more than 3 cheki of one person they’ll all get randomized? or is it just any extra beyond the set of 3 are randomized, like if i buy 4 only the 4th one is random?
>>
>>19360173
> if i buy 4 only the 4th one is random
it should be that but it's specified on the site when they open the cheki sale every month.
but i never bought more than 3 cheki so i can't tell how the duplicates get randomized

You'd be surprised how many dudes like him (probably homo, who knows) since his black trunks/disaster box era
Anyway, i think he's only doing more now because he gained more mainstream notoriety, and if you don't work as a model usually you'd see celebrities/idols/actors doing that
puro is not as popular with the general public to have that kind of demand on mainstream outlets that are not related to sport magazines. which is why that nylon x puro thing is an interesting project

Just finished Night 3 of World's Strongest Tag League. Way better than Night 2 but a bit weaker than Night 1. What I will definitely praise it on though is AJPW handling the shit with Yuma Aoyagi well by having Yuma Anzai and Jun Saito immediately feud over who gets to challenge Kento for the Triple Crown while Kento keeps winking that the mystery challenger isn't either one of them plus Kento says if he wins the tournament with DBS Jr they'll immediately challenge Havoc for the tag belts. Anzai even shot on Aoyagi a bit and called him an idiot. As for mystery challengers I know Shun Skywalker and YAMATO have teased the idea of going after Kento plus lots of people are still curious what Nakajima will do. I am happy though AJPW isn't letting the Aoyagi stuff rattle them though.

>【NOAH】 Even with Go Shiozaki gone… Team NOAH continues with Atsushi Kotoge as new leader: “Disbanding would be easy.”

>NOAH’s unit “Team NOAH” declared at their self-produced event “TEAM NOAH JUDGEMENT” (29th, Radiant Hall, Kanagawa) that they will continue their activities.

>Team NOAH began in January of last year centered around Go Shiozaki. They later held unit shows such as “LIMIT BREAK,” but with leader Shiozaki leaving NOAH at the end of September this year, attention turned to the future of the unit itself. On this day’s main event, the four Team NOAH members (Mohammed Yone, Atsushi Kotoge, Hajime Ohara, Hi69) faced the team of Kazuyuki Fujita, Shuhei Taniguchi, Harutoki, and Yuto Kikuchi in an eight-man tag match.

>Before the match even started, Fujita pointed out, “Huh? Where’s Shiozaki?” and the bell rang. The match was back-and-forth from the early stages, and in the middle Kotoge became isolated and endured sustained offense. Even so, he survived the onslaught and counterattacked using combination offense. After fierce exchanges, Kotoge finally drove his opponent head-first into the mat with the Kill Switch and scored the three-count.
>>
>>19372369
>After the match, Kotoge took the mic and said, “Continue or disband. The conclusion is—we continue,” declaring the unit’s continuation. As “Kotoge” chants broke out, he continued: “When the company booked Radiant Hall for us on November 29, the plan was to make this a disbandment show. But after various things happened, I thought, ‘Why have we been able to keep going this long?’ It’s because we have teammates who fight alongside us. We’ve built up careers and experience. That’s why we know: disbanding is easy, but continuing is difficult. So we’re going to keep going. We’re not done with our youth yet, so please support us.”

>Next, Yone took the mic and said with a smile, “A lot has happened, and just because someone says goodbye doesn’t mean we should disband. We might even gain more members.”

>Hi69, who had only just returned from injury, added, “We, Team NOAH, have to push forward full-force. How I feel right now? ‘Shiozaki can go to hell!’”

>After that, Kotoge also announced that he will be taking over as leader. All eyes are now on the future of Team NOAH as it enters a new chapter.

Just finished Night 4 of World's Strongest Tag League. Go vs Shota was fine but the rest of the first half was a little sloppy. In the second half it was nice to see Anzai and Saito's feud simmer a little more. I was a little sad Ayabe and Talos got their first loss since I was rooting for them. The main event was funny if only because Kento and Odyssey love messing with each other. I think it's going to be Havoc vs Havoc though at this rate which makes me wonder if Havoc's going to have a short lifespan as a faction.

It's wild that AJPW has guys like Kyohei Wada and Masanobu Fuichi who has seen practically the entire life of the promotion first hand. It'll be a huge loss when those guys go because they have to be a wealth of knowledge on the history of AJPW and how it has evolved over the decades.

White gear is so visually striking and they both look the same do its why I make comparisons to him and Ibushi. And let's be real, Ueno is a better more mentallystable version of Ibushi.

I also want to kiss his back and neck.
>>
>>19388079
I think most people do that surface comparison, sometimes is reeks of "all japanese guys with similar features look the same" like Takeshita and Masada but even japanese in the early days, were calling him Ibushi-look-alike because a bunch of viral clips of him doing a moonsault over a vending machine.
Even at the time he could have looked like Ibushi, because the tan and all, he was too twinkish kek

Funny timing since apparently Kento did an interview where he dissed OZAWA and Saya Kamitani a bit and noted Hulk Hogan is one of his favorite wrestlers.

>【AJPW】 Kento Miyahara condemns Saya Kamitani & OZAWA for campaigning to win MVP: “Isn’t this strange?”

>All Japan Pro Wrestling’s “unanimously the greatest man,” Kento Miyahara (36), has issued an emergency proposal demanding a ban on “lobbying” for awards in the Pro Wrestling Awards. His comments also pull Stardom’s Saya Kamitani (29) and NOAH’s OZAWA (29) into the discussion—what exactly did he say?

>On an early morning in November, as the real cold of the season began to set in, Miyahara urgently summoned a reporter. Appearing at a location in Shinjuku Ward, he immediately opened with: “Isn’t this year’s Pro Wrestling Awards strange?”

>Indeed, the Pro Wrestling Awards this year have become more heated than ever. Kamitani, aiming to become the first woman ever to win MVP, directly lobbied Kenta Kobashi—who has served as a special selection committee member since 2021—to vote for her. OZAWA, though avoiding explicit statements, has also behaved in ways resembling “under-the-table gifts,” such as politely handing castella cakes to reporters.

>Miyahara denounced the two: “A wrestler who aims for awards is no good.” He continued, “Pro wrestlers are people who show how cool they are by fighting in the ring or appearing in media, right? The wrestlers I admired when I was a kid—like Hulk Hogan—were they aiming for awards? They weren’t,” he said sharply.
>>
>>19391367
>He argued that the actions of top wrestlers like Kamitani and OZAWA will create a negative cycle in the industry. “In five or ten years, wrestlers who admired those two will do the same thing. And the world of wrestling will just get smaller and smaller,” he warned, concerned that even the prestige of the awards could eventually collapse.

>He also pointed a finger at this very newspaper: “Tokyo Sports—you hype up the wrestlers and write about them in entertaining ways, right? That’s exactly what needs to stop, which is why I called you here today.”

>“Awards are something you *receive*. Even without fancy gifts, they go to the wrestler who best represents that year,” Miyahara said with solid logic. Up to this point, the reporter nodded in agreement—until Miyahara added, “Well, this year, that person is Kento Miyahara,” a remark that made the reporter doubt their ears.

>Wouldn’t that make him the same as the others—just another person in the same hole? When pressed on this, he said, “Not at all. What I’m doing is giving advice. I mean, is there another ‘People’s Champion’ on my level? And anyway…” and launched into endless self-praise, so the reporter listened with only half attention.

>Before long, Miyahara—now looking refreshed—handed the reporter a can of coffee, gazing upward as if trying to convey something, and said, “It suddenly got cold, so be careful not to catch a cold.” Where will the MVP end up…?

I wouldn't consider Sasadango match a filler considered it tied to the Ryougoku show and the official declaration of Ueno for wanting to bring DDT to Tokyo Dome. And from there they added meta commentary about puro losing their icon (Tanahashi) and who is going to fill that huge void in the industry and so on.
It's a pity that a lot of DDT stories get lost in translation.
>>19394034
Their last free show had like 1k attendees, the only number that was leaked while Takagi was away kek, Ryougoku went very well and they had a bunch of sold out in-house shows and Korakuen. But I get why they decided to not publicly release numbers, japanese fans are WAY worse than us about this.

I think it's really solid that AJPW can be pretty comparable in numbers to NOAH despite having the financial backing and AJPW TV isn't as convenient to use as Wrestle Universe.
