This is the destination for all based webms, brotherOn tonight's docket: NJPW Sakura Genesis, hard-hitting action in GLEAT and more!
God bless whoever called for these two to match up again.
Had some weird framerate issues with my download of this show. In theory I could remaster all of these, but I didn't have the time this week. It looks like they're mostly fine once uploaded so I'll hold off.
God I love the ryukon lariat. I don't care for the DDT variant at all as much.
BASED
Ospreay's plancha is real good. Easily his best high-flying move.
I really like these two as a bruiser heel duo.
DAAAAAAAAAAAANGEROUS
>>20218872basedand thanks for the webms
>>20218886It's my pleasure, brother. Thanks for the kind words!
>>20218778I'm not the biggest Ospreay fan, but man did he look happy as hell to be in that ring. It was infectious
>>20219070Yeah, same here. The reactions he got were great too. Though I'm far from as convinced with the Newman angle as I was at NYD. I felt like Ospreay should stop the interference spot, LOSING Newman the match, and setting up for a singles match between the two. But I'm far from the only guy complaining about Newman winning.
HUGE
More of Oskar's underdog charisma coming out.
I love this move. So glad it stuck around.
I feel like I'd find this corny with anyone who doesn't come across as authentic as Yuto. He pulls this off.
These two are absolutely absurdly good with each other.
God DAMN this looks incredible.
Fucking crazy bump. And this is probably the safest possible way of doing it. Kudos.
Shame that the camera missed essentially all of this. It's a cute callback.
This Hidden Blade really isn't cutting it (haha) with me, but I'm assuming it'll get better if he keeps using it.
I actually really believed.
Really happy this is sticking around. I like it more than the Guerrero Especial setup. Not that this lead to anything, but, you know. Points for trying.
Next up is GLEAT's LIDET Ver. 8 show!
>>20219370>>20219931these guys made me buy merch for the first time ever. this match kicked ass
BASED>>20221900Hell yeah, brother. I really don't understand how people can be full-on doomers about current NJPW when these guys are so good.
I love a good facelock, especially when it's this convincing.
Glorious stuff again, my friend. Always comfy when I'm free to catch the threads.
>>20221956Happy to have you here, brother. Glad you're enjoying the thread!
>>20221979>Glad you're enjoying the thread!Happy to be here!
>those bruisesGod damn.
One of my favorite finishes in LIDET history. Watanabe going down to his last point is a good setup, but Nakajima's selling really makes it. He looks truly fucking desperate at the end.
Ito's German is still my favorite in the game. So goddamn good. This is from G-Pro 103!
It doesn't come through in the webm, but these chops are fucking VILE.
Fucking scary.
>>20222178Fire that man immediately, that was unsafe as shit. Also, fuck yeah that looked awesome.
I'm all for Kawakami turning face again, but man. What the fuck are we doing with this grandma's curtains gear?>>20222233Yeah, Parker is... Rocky. He's improved a little bit, but mostly in presence. I've never before seen a man do a superplex have his feet be the first thing touching the mat.
>>20222178Why doesn't anyone sell anything like that in the states? That forearm to the calf looked great.
>>20222276I feel like the answer to all "why don't they do X like that back in the states" is just that the fans want different wrestling, and American wrestling was kind of written by one single guy and for his tastes for 20 years, so that's made people expect one thing.
>>20222276>>20222290>Why doesn't anyone sell anything like that in the states?I honestly think it's down to training methods. The West has lost many of its authentic trainers, with William Regal basically being the last of the lineage.Japan still has its 90s-era and earlier training lineage going. I think it shows on both fronts. Western wrestling has bigger but lower quality spectacle. The quality of Eastern wrestling is finer on the small scale.Partly the fans wanting different styles, yes, but in this case I really do think it's just "Wrestlers in the west aren't taught the skills properly." Nothing about the Western style requires people to sell do weak sells.
That is to say, the East cares about the craft. The West cares about the show. So yes, different styles, but the difference in styles is from the root, not from the fan demands. (in my opinion)
>>20222358>Wrestlers in the west aren't taught the skills properly."I'll be honest, I don't know enough about the US wrestling-wise to say anything qualified at all about the training. I agree with your other points, though.
>>20222365>"Wrestlers in the west aren't taught the skills properly.">I don't know enough about the US wrestling-wise to say anything qualified at all about the training. Don't get me wrong, Western training is still solid. WWE has, obviously, a massive impact on how things are handled in the west. Their "Developmental" puts heavy focus on showmanship and character development. Not lacking in techniques training, but the style is more "technique for the sake of the show" rather than "technique for its own sake."
Closing out tonight with this >>20185114 request from last week. I hope you see this. Totally blanked on it last week, I apologize.
>>20222403And here it is clipped down just to the "moment." Hope you got what you wanted! I'll be heading off now. Tomorrow I'll have more GLEAT and a little surprise to round us out, maybe King's Road too, if I have time. I hope we stay bumped 'til then! I'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight, bros.
Old school is coolPlease if you have the time, check these out and post something from them. >>20222584Ernie slow as fuck Lad
zing
>>20223549These two are the worst pairing for each other
>>20224560Jay would work my ass so hard with this shit when I was new to modern njpw. I just wanted to see out of context bangers and this son of a bitch was denying me!
>>20223551zang
I'm back! Thanks for keeping us bumped. I'll start out with the requests and get right back on the GLEAT train after.>>20222584Here you go!
The colors in this look so damn good.
>>20225292This looks like a fucking movie scene. KINO as fuck.
>>20225361>>20225464Seeing Andre in briefs is so bizarre
>>20225502That's what I'm used to, but that's because it's what he wore in NJPW. I can see how it's jarring, though.
Slick.
SLICK (2)
I don't think this is technically a question mark kick, because Ikemoto both hits the leg kick and CROSSES OVER to hit Sato's head from the other side. No idea what this would be called.
BIG Junjie
Again! Maybe if he keeps at it he can stomp that gear off of him.
This is from GLEAT Ver. 24!
I missed Tamura.
I posted this in the /njpw/ thread but I figure it's worth dropping here as well. Aaron Wolf doing one hell of a throw on a TV Abema special
>>20226372God damn, that's beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
I fucking love this move.
I wonder if fully bridging into a magic screw is possible.
Holy lucha bullshit
Jesus Christ.
>>20226983Wtf is this? Is it children wrestling or is it just aew guys
Love this "you're going whether you want to or not"-ass suplex.
Ito's sell here rocks. He absolutely crashes and burns from one stray shot.
They established Watanabe's sleeper super well, and that was with basically zero build. Ito sells the panic super well, too.
And then they do this. Don't get me wrong, I prefer Ito as a wrestler and I was rooting for him, but like, really? That's two titles for Watanabe now, both of them being taken via upset wins over well-established, strong champions, and a total of 43 days reigning and ZERO defenses. V0 both of them. I thought for sure there was no way they'd do it a second time. I genuinely burst out laughing. Poor guy.
I'm going to close out with a continuation on the shoot style theme from the LIDET matches! First up is a fun little oddity, Yoshiaki Fujiwara vs. Taka Michinoku in Fujiwara-Gumi from 26.08.1995.
GIGADIMES SPOT
>no sells literally all of your offenseBases
>>20221951Make that two in one thread. God damn.
To close us out today is my #1 pick for the most underrated wrestler of all time, Fujita Jr. Hayato, vs. what might be one of the most underrated grapplers at least of his generation, Masashi Takeda. This match took place on 26.07.2008 in BattlARTS!
Hayato kicking the arm away is a nice touch.
These are some HIDEOUS fucking stomps. And then that dropkick too, just insult to injury. So good.
>dumps you on your head mid-submissionGet ribbed kid
I love a good slicer.
>>20224619Gotta love the Jaymeister, you just gotta.
Such intensity in this match.
>>20222584>>20225196>>20225292>>20225361>>20225464Thank you so much webm bro!
That last kick. So good.
>>20224560>>20224619I miss him so much. He really fit the dishonorable piece of shit role as Bullet Club leader
Fuck, this one is nasty.>>20228912He was the best wrestler in a world for a few years, and he's earned a permanent spot on my top 10 for that alone. I miss him.
Yet more based content.
Ibushi eat your fuckin' heart out. God I love Hayato.>>20228928Yet more based anons!
>>20228920the hardest i've popped when watching a match was him countering the Rainmaker into a Switchblade to beat Okada for the IWGP title. Between that and Goto winning the title because I would have never bet on Goto winning the title in the year 2025 but I wanted it so bad after his performance in the NJCup the year prior
It speaks get said enough that this is consistently one of the best threads on this board

That's all for this week! Next week I'll have started catching up on recent DDT happenings, as well as NOAH Apex Conquest, Death Vegas Invitacional, and maybe even the first nights of the Champion Carnival if I find myself blessed with a wealth of free time. Either way, I'll see you right here on the usual time. Thank you for your time yet another week. Goodnight, bros.>>20228936>to beat Okada for the IWGP titleThis is in my favorite wrestling moments ever, silent crowd and all. His promo after is legendary, and I popped out of my chair for the win. Fuck, I BREATHED that night.>>20228943I appreciate the kind words, brother! It feels nice to have a thread where wrestling really is the main and only subject.
>>20229034thanks for the webms! have a good one!

Great thread. Im an old 90s WWF guy and not super familiar with NJPW but these webms are awesome, really convincing me to check out NJPW thanks. Is it available with subs? Thanks for the thread OP.
>>20230605Almost every NJPW show since the mid 2010s has been broadcast with English commentary.

Do you do AEW? I saw Dax take a back bump from a ddt and I need the webm
