Howdy bros, I'm back. I wanted to continue RimQuest, but the combination of an artist shafting me, Rimworld 1.6 breaking all of my saves, life events, and depression have fucked that into the dirt. So instead here's something new.

These are the dark years of the occupation. Gordon Freeman is still just a story passed between cells, squads, strangers, and couples. In this moment in time there's only you, a lone human working to resist the Combine occupation however you see fit and remain able. There will be an Uprising someday, this you're sure of, but the path there lies on the other side of lakes of blood and considerable effort on the part of unsung warriors like you.

It had felt like days since you last saw the sun back outside the outskirts of City 11. The awful stench of the sewers and cisterns which meandered under the streets of what used to be Berlin forced you to find something to plug your nose with almost immediately upon beginning your infiltration. Deep regret at leaving the accommodations, spartan as they were, of the Resistance base north of the city had massaged your mind, but failed to slow your occasionally-soggy step through the barely-lit darkness.
All this had a purpose, you reminded yourself. In the newspeak of the Combine you are an Anticitizen, a Malignant, the malformed cell that starts the cancer, the one that sets the spark which will light the torch of humanity's liberation. Or, in more plain terms, the crazy fucker that volunteers to go back into the Cities in order to bring contraband in, people out, and start up new resistance cells along the way. If there were some omniscient statistician in the sky, he could have given you odds of survival that would have seen you sit your ass back down in Finow when they called for somebody to replace Parks's sector after his presumed loss, but all the same, it needed to get done. The whole goddamned species was at stake, with a biological time limit that edged closer to expiration every year and a planet slowly being strangled of its life. If this generation didn't stop them, there would be no other. Never in human history had there been as existential and desperate a struggle as the one you now trudged through obscure German shit-tunnels to wage.

It had only been half a day since you entered the sewer system when you reached your target. A junction in the tunnels marked by a chalk marker and a lone, white coffee mug. The route into this part of the city was prepared beforehand by a two-man reconnaissance team, people with equipment and experience too valuable for you to know or to be risked with the next, most dangerous part of City infiltration. You were briefed that they left you a red bag full of necessaries to help you along on your mission from here, hidden in a storeroom near the marker.

The world has another side, one with secret societies and hidden powers vying for control. But it is not merely humans, nay. For millennia, creatures which a modern man considers fables have been battling in the shadows, both within their own, and others.
Only the Magical Girls can slay the demons of humanity's suffering, and clean up the supernatural messes along the way!

Following next, a magical girl begins her first training session.

- - - - -

On the last Episode, our Heroine, Magical girl SugarRush, has gotten her first introduction to magical girl society. Witnessing the dark land of the Shadow Market where she met an eccentric ‘apprentice’ E, and a non-combatant Sister of the Magical Girls, the troubled Angel. Now, she has arrived on the beach to train with her Magical Girl teammate, Jacky.

- - - - -

You shake off your troubles, compartmentalization always works, thought it feels like the more you lock away, the quicker you reach your limit. But this is important, you’re here to train with Jacky. She doesn’t seem like the sort to make it too harsh anyway.

So you nod at the short girl. Much like you, clad in bikini and flip-flops, though carrying a small purse.
“Lead the way.”

In a dark place, a made-man struggles against his bonds. Before him, several tools glimmer and sway gently along the wall, the strange bald druggist who knocked him out playing with them. The room is barely illuminated from the streetlights, passing cars, and electric billboards of Level 4. True darkness and silence is not common here.

“...It's always women, prostitutes. Transient kids. People who won't be missed. That's no fun. I think doing it to men is much more fun; but not because you're a boy. More because it's not somebody you'd expect. It could be anybody.”

”You want money? I got money. Pacelli connections.”

“You will be next great creation. Worth far more then any amount of dirty criminal money.”

“Who da fuck... wait, you're from Level 2?”

The man doesn't say anything, instead the stranger brandishes a razor, testing its sharpness against a finger, turning to the mobster. He looks over his captive, eyes looking for the juciest piece to cut first. The mafioso tries to pull out from the rope, the chair squeaking. He sweats. Bribes will certainly not work.

“You'd be smart to let me go, psycho. I'm a dangerous man, and I know dangerous people!”

He grins at the mafioso with a golden tooth.

*CLUNK! WOOSH- THUNK!*

You block the first tennis ball by the machine, the second rolling out at a different angle. You have to be faster. These are only a very rough approximation of what you're trying to accomplish.

*CLUNK! WOOSH- SPLAT!*

Hmmph.

You are back to being Max again. In your garage on Level 5, you've been digging around a bit more, finding an automatic ball throwing machine that belonged to Cheryl's dad. Apparently, he had a dog at some point. This made you very surprised when you found out.

You could just... have a dog? On Level 5? Ever since the cities took over the world and the people all moved to them to allow the natural world to heal; pet and animal ownership has been heavily controlled and restricted, and commerical farming of animal products was outlawed entierly. While there was once a call for total animal emancipation, there were a lot of domestic animals that simply couldn't survive in the wild. As such, these animals could still become pets, but pet ownership became a status symbol. People on Level 5, like you, don't have the space or resources to properly care for larger animals; so only small mammals like rats or insects are allowed as pets. You have a rat, and he's a good rat, but it's not really the same as a dog is it?

Cheryl has a cat; you know Level 4 is more open, with cats, birds, bunny rabbits and other animals being acceptable as pets. Level 3 is where people can have dogs finally. As for Level 2 you don't really know, they seem more “enlightened” about the whole thing. So the thought of a man just having a dog on this level of the city just blows your mind. Honestly? You're a bit jealous. Owning this garage, owning all these violent tapes, a gas motorcycle with none of the restrictions of an electric one, having a pet dog... Man people in the past had it easy. You keep getting the feeling like things were just better before you were born. And people used to own land and stuff before the cities were around; like actual land where they could farm. That seems like a dream today. Totally unimaginable for anyone today. But society can't just get worse like that, can it? What's your opinion?

>Yes, society and the world is just degrading

>Things are getting better for some people even as they get worse for others
Its not all wealth, either, as Cesar's scene showcases. The city has an elite who are elite for reasons beyond the financial.
>>
>>6346714
It's a fun and interesting quest. I doubted it at first but you are "cooking" as the kids say.
Honestly, I am curious about the setting. Eventually I want to learn about level 1 or what lies outside the city.
One thing that bugs me is the scale of panopolis. It supposedly has 50 million people, but with the impact our previous actions had on level 5, it feels like a much smaller place, almost like a small town really. (But don't let numbers get in the way of a good story)
>>
>>6347581
Yeah. Originally it was going to be more cyberpunkish, with things like "punk culture" having a social media presence to it which explained the mask vigilante style, but that conflicted with the other idea of tech segregation (where Level 5 was literally in like a 1800s tech era where all the lamps were gas powered, Level 4 was like 1940s to 50s, Level 3 was modern day, etc.) so I ended up just making a big number to explain why it's such a massive city megalopolis. If it makes you feel better, we can just say the city is smaller or you're really well known in one "sector" of it, which is just a portion of the city system.

You are Marnie, a girl living in the Ark known as the Digital World. For all your life, you've endured a dreary existence in City 87-O, haplessly railing against a skin-deep system that denies you all but the most meaningless human experiences. You've spent years beholding the shining tower in the center of the city, and watched its guardian Digimon circle it endlessly, protecting the portal that leads out of this sunless landscape. Throughout your youth, you never thought you'd actually be able to make your dream a reality. But things have begun to change over the past few months.

A chance meeting with a Digimon has plunged you into a hidden world of wonders, filled with wild Digimon, enigmatic Code Crackers, mysterious server partitions that reveal the City's inner workings to you, and underground organizations seeking to bring change to this world. Amidst this danger is the authenticity you've so dearly craved, and you've never been happier.

Right now, you're in the middle of a mission to take down your Digimon Nemesis. You and your partner, Phascomon, have broken into the lair of DarkTyrannomon, who has taken over an entire Job District. You've made it past his lieutenants and minions and are mere steps away from facing down your foe one last time and putting an end to his danger.

Once that's done, you plan to climb The Tower, defeat its guardian, and finally claim your freedom. The real world awaits.

"No, just the one. He's my partner. Hey, about those videos... have they spread outside of the underground?" You ask nervously.

"Yeah. Actually... I did see a guy reading about it in the train the other week. He had a window up and was just looking over the clip, clear as day. Random wagie."

You pinch the bridge of your nose. If even regular citizens are starting to hear about this, then you really have no time to spare. If you chance across someone who's familiar with the rumors, they could easily report you or call security instances over.

"Ugh. Hey, do me a favor. You guys owe me for saving your butts." You demand.

"Huh? Sure. What is it?"

You look towards Doc's building. You're keeping him waiting, you need to get out of here now and make sure they don't follow you. You doubt he's taking customers as of late, and it wouldn't do to have them track down his base. These guys don't seem like the worst type of mischief makers, but they're awfully curious.

"Don't tell anybody you saw me. There's too much info leaking already. I don't want to get recognized, it's gonna complicate things."

"Sure. Sure, we can do that. Complicate what, though? What are you after? You fighting to take down the entire bot network or something?" Lid guy asks, with an expectant glint in his eye.

"So, you're making a name for yourself, huh?" Phascomon sulks.

"Why do you sound mad?"

"Where's MY rep?! Marnie AND Phascomon! Come on!" He whines, banging his fists against the Digivice screen. He pre-empts your admonishment with a grimace of his own. "I know, I know... We don't actually want the attention. But this stinks. I'd like someone to pay attention to me too, I do all the fighting!"

"Ugh... I don't want people trying to get inspired by me or anything. I just want to go. The Dogs of War can take all that heat, for all I care, but we don't need it."

"Come on. Isn't it cool? You're like some kind of hero! Some kind of icon! If you stuck around, I'm sure you could gather up people of your own. Kinda like Wind's crew. Think about it!" Your partner says.

"But I don't care about any of that." You reply, exasperated. "What would I even do, then? Just keep blowing up data centers until we get caught eventually? We can't stay, Phascomon."

"I get it, I get it, jeez. I just..."

He mumbles, almost too softly for you to hear.

Phascomon explains the encounter with Hyemon, and how you managed to take it down without him needing to lift a finger. He sounds quite proud while relaying the tale. You notice the Kokuwamon and Solarmon standing by to listen. Once he's done, Doc ends up stroking his beard in concern.

"Do you know what's going on, Doc? Why haven't they done anything about it?"

"Is there ever really a situation where you would want to call the bots for help?" He asks.

You think about it from the perspective of those living here. They've just dealt with a crackdown that led to plenty of folks being podded. You can't imagine any one person being willing to snitch and call for yet another investigation. They'd be despised throughout the neighborhood if anyone found out.

"No. I guess not."

"Huh? But that's stupid! Someone has to do it!" Phascomon yells.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean- eventually, someone is gonna need to take the plunge and ask for help, to save everyone else, right? Unless they can deal with it by themselves. Which they can't!"

Once the immediate threat has been discussed, Doc leans back in his chair. Normally, he would have a lot to say, but all that greets you today is silence. The both of you are aware that this might be the last time you see each other. Emotions are welling up inside you. For a while now, he's been someone you could rely on heavily. You would have been caught long ago if it wasn't for his help, and you've paid that debt of gratitude back by saving him in turn.

Phascomon picks up on the solemn atmosphere. He tugs at your pants leg.

"Oi. Come on, say something."

You shift in your seat and try to work out what topic you'll start with.

>Ask Doc about the workshop. It looks different today. Apart from the jammer, it seems neater- no, more sparse. Most of the tools and benches seem to have been emptied out, and the grimy rear half is devoid of machinery.

>Give Doc the data you owe him straight away, then give him a full rundown of what happened inside the partition. He must know about SkullGreymon by now. You want to get his opinion on the book, and on DarkTyrannomon.

>Start asking about The Tower first and foremost. You want to prepare yourself for the biggest moment in your life. Anything else can wait. He may have insights that Squid lacks, or know of ideal locations for you to set out from.

Is it out of character to suspect that we've done all the work for someone else to claim the City once we hit that portal?

I am really more leaning for the cripple. Do to wanting more freedom to build up. Yet that would just make it one vote for each thing. I am also unsure of the lore and how they think. So it will matter less if they are out for end no matter what.

It's velociraptor, so obviously velociraptor

This is but one of the legends of which the people speak...

Long ago, there existed a kingdom where a golden power lay hidden. It was a prosperous land blessed with green forests, tall mountains, and peace.

But one day, a man of great evil found the golden power and took it for himself. With its strength at his command, he spread darkness across the kingdom. But then, when all hope had died, and the hour of doom seemed at hand...

...a young boy clothed in green appeared as if from nowhere. Wielding the blade of evil's bane, he sealed the dark one away and gave the land light.

What became of the hero is lost to myth, another mystery of the past casting a long shadow. In one village, it is customary that when children come of age, they make a pilgrimage to the nearby ruins, and bring back an artifact. In doing so, they bring what was left in the dark to the light, and keep their history alive.

You are from that village, and today you turn 18, and must make your own pilgrimage. Your father was an archeologist at Hyrule University, and now that it is your day to recover an artifact, you are determined to follow in his footsteps with your diligence.

But shadows hang over more than the past, now. A ruthless warlord has rallied an army, and has laid siege to Hyrule castle for nearly a year, seeking to claim the golden power. Darkness gathers across the kingdom, and shadows stretch ever farther each passing day...

Welcome to LOZ: Umbral Tower, where you will play an unlikely hero destined to save the kingdom from a neverending shadow. In this game you will roll pools of D6s based on your stats, which will improve over time, against competing pools of D6s, where 5's and 6's are considered successes. Ties normally go to the aggressor, not the defender. I may tweak this as we go.

>Particular characters
Iron Knuckles, both as another heavy armored enemy and more specifically the OoT bend with them being Gerudo. There's a lot of enemies I would like to see but I'm making the assumption a lot of them are going to inevitably show up due to the nature of the quest. More on Impa since she's Zuzo's mom would be cool. Old and New Kasuto would be cool and I echo the /qtg/ post about the CD-I games getting an appearance and more work here.
>Descriptions
Good for both setting tone and describing key details. although I wish there were some more visuals for exact layout as personally I struggle to measure where everything is but I understand how verbose and annoying it can be to try to quantify everything spatially.
>QMing rules
Seems you got most things out of the way in this thread. Just keep in mind the 72 hour bump limit so the thread isn't stuck slowly sliding to page 11 when it's still active.
>Vote options
As has been said don't include an option you're not willing to write for. I was honestly very upset at Zuzo getting blinded and imprisoned after the fight with Dead Heart and had to remind myself there was still a chance things could get better (thank goodness they did) but you gave a good rationale for including them in the list. That said I would say that if Zuzo would consider an option bad than it shouldn't appear on the list of options.
>Mechanics
Hard to say because I personally use just a simple percentile d100 B/W/Mo3 in a more narrative quest but this has precedence as a Vidya game. So far it's been working pretty fine but it always stings to see someone get a good roll after someone else.

>if Zuzo would consider an option bad than it shouldn't appear on the list of options.
This is a very incisive piece of feedback that I will keep in mind; sometimes I find myself listing options more from the perspective of the omniscient narrator, and if I ground them more thoroughly from Zuzo's instead, I think that will help a lot.

“HAHAHA, FOOLISH HEROES, KNEEL BEFORE MY GRAND MAGIC!”

Your skeletal body, adorned in robes that have lived longer than any human has breathed, lords over the fallen party of heroes. Your ultimate Origin Magic, though incomplete, has proven more than sufficient to take on the pathetic mortals sent to their knees before its might. Miasma-smoke fills the room, spewed by the necromantic fire left in the wake of your destructive magnum opus. However, to your incredible satisfaction, the Holy Sword itself, the only weapon capable of striking you down, lies corroded beneath the hero’s tattered frame, little more than a sparkly pile of smoldering slag.

Yes, your ultimate victory has been achie–

Pain unlike any you’d ever imagined stabs through your very being, a thin, needle-like blade jutting out from the cluster of mana animating your undead body, destabilizing it, causing your very being to quiver and weaken. Something is wrong— something is very, very wrong. . You collapse to the floor, your head snapping 180 degrees back to see just who had landed the killing blow. If your eyes could widen, they would: the Hero Michael, who you had thought collapsed in front of you, stands proudly behind you with an unknown blade in your back.

“H-how?”

“Lich King Atrebor,” the hero declares, his obnoxious condescension shamelessly leaking into his words as he drives the blade even further through your ribs, “you may have been wary of me, the possessor of the Holy Sword, but you paid far too little attention to my real strength: my friends.”

You turn your eyes back to the party: an illusion, a paltry trick, dissolves from the worthless entourage of the chosen one, revealing a golem in place of his second in command and that same eternal loser, Reinlock, in his place.

“Impossible!” you roar, “I was certain! He– he had the holy sword! He acted just as you would!”

how about we just say that the demon lord is back and that we came with good intentions (bonus points for truth)
basically option 5 but better worded
this might put his mind towards more pressing matters. since we are clearly at his mercy.
>>
>>6347568
So just change the subject and don't answer him? Could work, especially since the information is shocking, but ultimately I think his suspicion will remain. I think the rolls for any of these options would be difficult, but we should have a few things in our favour. One being that a cultist of Katellor probably wouldn't be testing him for being a demon, even as a method of verifying an ally. They'd just go 'hail Katellor' or whatever and hope for a appropriate response. Nor would someone versed in infiltration not think of their bizarre nature and how suspicious that would be (though it did actually cross my mind, I just assumed every other anon also thought of it and was prepared for it).

I'd personally just prefer to give a definitive answer and try and have it align with whatever backstory we're going for or what we've already established. Bearing the blood of the first hero is technically true, using the blood scales aligns with being associated with the sea, as would revealing any deep knowledge of ancient times that we've lived through, since the seafolk are long lived. Presumably the blessed of the sea share a similar longevity. Rejecting the churches would fit with our conspiratorial info that we are soon to reveal, and being a devotee of Paeora would fit with our ring and potentially absolve us of his prime suspicion, etc. Though at this point, I'm just restating myself.

I wonder how Corrin is taking all this, the update doesn't make note of his reaction. Speaking of the good scout, we should take care of what we say next here in front of him, since the churches of moon and sea are likely close-knit, being paired schools. we should definitely try to keep our lies to a minimum
so i would probably go with a variation of option 4 or 5 and risk a roll
>I wonder how Corrin is taking all this
i think he isnt in the room. QM would have described something he was doing by now.

or we could say something vague like "i am someone who seeks mastery over all schools of magic" since (i checked) our favored school is origin magic meaning we have no restricted school (which is also rare to have)
"i am but an ambitious mage"
>>

>”I don’t know.” (requires a roll)
We woke up in some lab, patchy memories of our time before we were kidnapped and imprisoned by the monstrous Lich King Atrebor. We're obviously some kind of experiment, but we hate the undead and all evil because of our harrowing experiences, and will do anything to rid the world from those monsters!

Gets the closest to the truth with an essential misdirect. And hell, there's no way they can disprove it either.

>A truth told with bad intent,
>beats all the lies you can invent.
>>
>>6347578
>Not in the room

I think he must be.

>>6346997 "Despite your lack of visible reaction, you see the duke smile, “You have brought an interesting one, Scout Corrin Laughe. I can see how she managed to spot a troupe of skinwalkers so easily.”"

From when we entered his chambers.

>ambitious mage, looking to master all schools

This is entirely besides the point. The issue is our ability to wield divine authority with extreme power but very low finesse, while obviously being a mage. That and alleviating his suspicions of us being a Katellor cultist. Hence we need an explanation for that. Some sort of blessed or inheritor heroic blood explains the 'high power, low skill' bit, but any specific claim, especially of godly blessings brings entanglements of the churches, which is problematic given the information and claims of conspiracy from the church we want to bring forward. Leaving claiming heroic descent the only one we have no info on out of character. Maybe even then, we still need something specific that rules out being a Katellor cultists, hence my suggestion of saying we serve Paeora, since a favored school of creation magic rules out necromancy.

Every solution must address those two things; our odd nature and his suspicions of us being Katellor cultist. Whether that solution be claiming ignorance or making a specific claim of allegiance or heritage. Or we could distract with subject change as you said, or just refuse giving an answer, but not addressing this ultimately makes us less trustworthy.

Once upon a time, there was a stricken land where there was no such thing as day, nor morning, no sunrise or sunset, but endless dark. It was alone and obscure, on an island surrounded by waters as black as the sky. Yet the wind carried whispers of warmth and light, so the sad peoples of this land, intoxicated by the drink called hope, entreated their king to find the mythical sun and bring it to their lands. The king of the dark vowed to bring the morning to his people, and departed.

After five years, while the king did not return, the morning did come, with all of the light and warmth that could be dreamed of. Yet while the people were happy, the new king’s heir, his granddaughter the crown princess, was skeptical of this new light. So, she ventured over the dark waters towards the light, and finally, she found a great tower atop which burned a sun nothing like had been spoken of, nor what seemed to create the new day.

There she met her grandfather, and demanded of him the truth. Was there a sun, or no? Were they living in a day that was just night under a mask? Her elder, sad and weary, asked the simple question of if she could tell the difference. What distinguished the False Light from the Dawn?

She could not answer, and returned home, keeping the secret to her grave. Yet, friends and followers of Ange, what if the Dawn that comes is false? What if it is so convincing that none of us can tell it true? What if indeed, the facsimile created is the true one after all?

Grand Zen-Oh, the omni king and ruler of the omniverse has declared there will be a massive tournament to be held in his honor. A grand affair between several universes, each battling it out for the very right to exist. And at the forefront of this grand spectacle will be the Saiyans of Universe 7, who Grand Zen-Oh has grown fond of watching battle. Twenty eight years ago, the Saiyan race were annexed into the PTO as just another race, one of many sent to conquer other worlds. Now, the Saiyans are widely regarded as the strongest warrior race in the entire Seventh Universe, defenders of the PTO led by their strongest, the “Dragon of New Salda” General Karn and his family.

You the players will (most often) control Karn. A man who has grown from his lowly beginnings as a Saiyan Brawler with a sub-3000 powerlevel in Age 733 to become not only the strongest Saiyan of his time at AGE 759, but also personal friend to the former emperor Lord Freeza, father to well over a dozen powerful and unique children, a mentor and teacher to his fellow Saiyans, and the best hope for his universe's continued survival. No one warrior can hope to battle eight other universes' strongest fighters alone and hope to prevail, one man's power and skill won't be enough to overcome the looming threat of extermination. But this coming battle will be the ultimate test of how you've lived your life until now, the choices you made not only for yourself, but for the fate of your entire universe.

>So, a bit of clarification. Doom STOLE Dormammu's powers, completely ripped his magic from him. He's not possessed or controlled by Dormammu.
So is Doom with Dormammu's stolen powers as dangerous as Dormammu or more? I find this opponent to be very enigmatic in terms of how much of a challenge he will be. Then again stealing Dormammu’s power in itself is impressive.
Do you think that after tournament Chilli and Doom will start to hang out since they are both very smart when it comes to magic?

I remember I really liked one Quest on /tg/. I still hope it is not over since there were so many things to do. There was an entire adventure ahead. I hope it will continue (pic related).

There is only one problem with this. The last time QM of that quest posted was 12 years ago. I’m starting to think that maybe there will be no come back.

My point with this is that it is really awesome that your quest is still going strong. You never ghosted us. I really appreciate this. Thank for all the fun that Saiyan Conqueror brings.

You were just a regular peasant woman in a small village in the frontier. One night, you were snatched out of your bed, gagged and dragged into a cave. You thought some horrible monster was going to eat you, but instead a group of figures wearing black robes put you in the center of magic circle and chanted. You felt hypnotized and soon realized that they had done something to your mind. You woke up outside the village the next day and walked home. In your mind you knew that you gained the power to cast some dangerous dark magic! You can hear voices inside your head telling you to do things, horrible unspeakable deed...

You go back to sleep, and you sleep surprisingly well despite the scrapping sound.

In the morning, there are only piles of bones outside your door.

Seems like the magic of the temple animates undead at night!

What will you do with this knowledge?

You go out to forage but make sure to return before dark. You then rummage through the bones until you find an unblemished skull.

You bring it with you into the room with the beds and leave it on top of one of them.

After a few hours you hear a loud scream.

"I'm alive! I'm alive again! Where... where is my body? Oh no! I'm still dead..."

"What are you?"

So ride on, let us go back on saddle and ride with Charles de Villeroi, our gallant hero, who has just left the capital to go to Tradnod, to give the duchess of these lands the locket that she has lost and that he has found after vanquishing awful men made of wood and other foul witchcraft.
For those who are new in our crowd, worry not, for I have here all the links to the previous scrolls detailing the adventures of Lord Charles de Villeroi.

kek, truly deus DOES vult, huh?

You are a thrall, a slave, bonded to the house of the Chieftain of this village in order to pay off your late uncle's debts, under whose scornful eye and ready hand you had been formerly raised.

Though the debts are formidable, your labors these past seven years have diminished them to the point where a release seems no longer impossible. You cannot claim that it was by your diligence alone that this was accomplished; the Chieftain's generosity also played a substantial part. He took you into his own home, to serve as a companion for his only son, and has always dealt fairly with you as he does with all his subordinates. Indeed, he seems more eager to see you freed from bondage than perhaps even yourself. And it is that sentiment, along with a hundred other kindnesses he has shown you during your time of service, that compels you to remain with his house, even after your freedom is achieved.

It is an outcome not entirely unwanted by the Chieftain either, for your service has revealed the possession of certain worthy talents.
>You have a natural genius for sword-skill. A quickness of eye and hand that are unmatched in the village, which you have developed into a kind of preternatural sixth sense for danger.
>You have a gift for making others feel at ease. Your good looks and skill as a raconteur are contributing factors, but it is your naturally sunny disposition that charms all who meet you.
>You have a prodigious gift for symbols, figures, and other abstractions. Your sense of measure is especially keen, making you an ideal craftsman, shipbuilder, or even sailor

Take your time, happy holidays everyone <3

Somewhere in the southeastern United States is a small town named Whispering Oaks. The town has a population of roughly 10,000 people and it’s situated about an hour’s (assuming good traffic) drive away from the nearest big city. There’s nothing particularly special about this small town that sets it apart from the rest, but it’s your small town. It’s where you were born and raised, and it’s where your family’s planted their roots.

It’s an off year. The president was elected last year and the midterms are the year after this, so there’s not much in the news right now, election wise…except in Whispering Oaks. Not only is every seat in the city council scheduled for re-election, but so too is the mayor.

You’ve thought about it for a while, but now you’ve decided: this year, you will run for mayor, challenging the sitting one.

But first, we must figure out some key things about you. It should be noted that some of these factors will influence your chances of getting elected.

Then I (>>6345744) agree: let's get started!

Looks like we’ll be hitting the campaign trail! Locking in.
>>
Your decision has been made. It might’ve taken longer than you wished for, and it might not be perfect, but you have done everything you feel the need to do to set up and prepare your campaign. Now it’s time to hit the campaign trail!

Election Day is on November 8th of this year. You could just pull your phone out of your pocket and read the day on your lock screen, but you’re old fashioned, so you of course have a physical calendar handing on your wall. It’s not the most becoming calendar—12 months of beautiful east asian ladies in bikinis, as per your tastes—so it’s intentionally kept in the back corner of your office space, which already few people besides yourself end up spending any time in. It’s June 1st. Sometime later this week, Katherine Hubbard will be endorsed by the local Democratic and Republican Party organizations and the race will officially begin. You make a note to take the calendar down before your office is turned into a temporary campaign headquarters between now and when you find a more suitable place to establish your central command.

As you’re thinking, you hear the door to your office swing open.

“Aye! Hey-”

You jolt in surprise and unintentionally let out a yelp alongside it. You scowl at whoever had just barged in before bothering to recognize who it is that came in without knocking. It’s Aiden Mitchell, your Communications and Digital Lead. He’s carrying a cup holder with two coffees inside. Ah, that’s right. You asked him to come over to help you clear out your office to make room for campaign space, but not without getting some coffee on the way.

“Sorry, sorry…you’re still paying for these, right?”

You rub your forehead, calming down. “Yeah, yeah. Just put them on the desk.” He promptly does just that. You don’t know what he got for himself, but you damn well hope it isn’t something expensive. That’s a personal philosophy of yours: coffee has no need to be expensive. Nobody drinks that shit for pleasure, just for the caffeine. Anybody who says otherwise is lying to themselves. As for you, you just told him to buy a large iced coffee with vanilla cold foam.

“So. Where do we start?” The young man does a slow 360 degree turn around your room. As he does this, you try to act casual while you remove the bikini calendar off the wall and shove it under the desk.

It’s fifteen- no, twenty minutes into you and Aiden stuffing things into boxes and going through old junk. The boy returns after carrying a box into the storage room, but he then lean against the doorframe, arms crossed.

“What’re you doing?” You ask, curious why he stopped helping you out.

“Have you thought of a slogan or anything? I’ve talked to some of the other folks on the team, but none of them seemed to have even thought about that.”

You pause for a second. “Hm. You know what? I haven’t, actually.” Your shoulders slump. You’ve made it this far into your campaign and you haven’t even thought up a slogan? What the hell is wrong with you?

“I’ll think about it,” you say before gesturing for the boy to continue helping you clear out the office.

>Choose a slogan for your campaign. Anything goes, but keep in mind it will affect your appeal, both overall and with specific demographics. You can have up to three.

It’s dark outside. Under the ridiculous yet enormous poster of the black man screaming, Ellie is using the two secondary arms coming from under her head to hold the tower of towels above it; both her hands are struggling with bags. Sammie’s are overloaded too, yet she manages to push the trolley forward with the rest of her body.

֍ Ellie: ƝЏƺƔƝɎσɸ

֍ Sammie: No, Ellie. Nothing of value was lost.

Sammie is talking about Fubuka, but Ellie is talking about her plushies. Neither will ever know. And they won’t need to.

֍ Fubuka: Damn, girl, what took you two so long? You did hit that arcade, didn’t you?

It’s Fubuka wearing an armless white dress with a short skirt over striped patterned stockings, one black and red and the other black and blue. A single black ribbon is wrapped around her left arm. At her feet are fake cephalopods.

֍ Ellie: ƝɎσɸ!

Ellie rushes towards Fubuka dropping towels everywhere, who giddily opens her arms only to find them empty seconds later. Again, Ellie is hidden under fabric tentacles. Fubuka’s cheeks grow. She kneels and finds Ellie’s cheek under those tentacles, then pinches.

Since when we have established that Sammie turns extra introvert near autistic territory when facing strangers, the first charisma fail? I gonna continue this shit of her not knowing how to deal with supposedly friendly people lol

Anyways
Sammie does not know that she has been following us since getting out of the abandoned plot of land right? She only knows that the girl has been following us for a certain time if Ellie had to point her out.
Her first thoughts would be like gucas are rare so this random girl is very likely to be a normie so I need to find a way to subtly shoo her somewhere else……
But wait Weird Eyes did say she is introducing her clients to us! Has word been spreading so fast what if she is one of the gucas introduced here oh no what should I do how do you even talk to somebody that could be a friendly person oh no oh no
