You've gone to the effort of finding out what you can about the targeted place, the corporate headquarters building of the First American bank here in Malton, your hometown. Although it's more like an office building than a proper bank really, there is a central holdings vault for distribution to the many branch locations throughout the region. It is here then that you'd expect the biggest score, and where you're going to focus on.

In the process of learning as much as you can about the building however, you've found how it's quite a substantial place. Not just the corporate skyscraper but also other attached buildings like a convention and shopping center. There's bound to be a ton of people around at any given moment not to mention the level of security... as much as you'd like to behave in the classic supervillain manner and just walk right into the place to boldly announce yourself, you have concerns about it. Fortunately you shouldn't have to worry about any superheroes at least, since you specifically chose the day and time to coincide with some charity benefit event where several heroes will be occupied, giving you all the time and opportunity you should need for this.

"...also, I haven't really nailed down the right evil laugh yet." you ponder to yourself.

Rather than just kicking open the doors with an evil laugh then, you wonder if you might not be able to infiltrate the bank instead?

Your own superpower should certainly be able to help with that, and the longer you can make it through this villainous caper without setting off alarms, the better your ultimate chances of succeeding you figure. Maybe you can't plan for every possible circumstance, but the less you leave to chance the better. That means dealing with (and being seen by) the least amount of people and getting as close to the valuables as possible, so that perhaps you can be in and out before the authorities are notified.

Just a question then of how you'd try to infiltrate the bank portion of the building, and particularly the vault which is of course immensely secure and located underground.

Well if you're going to infiltrate a bank, you may as well infiltrate right into the vault! A tour would get you close, or accosting an employee would give you interior access, but other methods still involve interacting with people. Which, you personally prefer to avoid if you can help it, but also it's more room for risk. If instead you could begin the robbery already within the vault then you're cutting out the entire first half of the plan in terms of risk.

So for about the preceding week leading up to the big day itself, you try and figure out how to recruit the unwitting help of another party. Someone without a disguise who can get inside the vault and transport you there in the process. It's situations like this where having henchmen would be a great help, but on short notice you'll have to find some other way. And after enough time and effort online, you think you can figure out a way... a bit risky but it's the best chance you've got.

"I guess if they see the money they might try and run with it, but then I could just stop them... I wonder if Kelly or Chris could just- no, no that's a bad idea!"

Using throwaway accounts with Megslist, you end up offering a thousand bucks to someone who will go to the downtown bus station on the day of the event, take a travel trolley case from one of the rental lockers there, and go to the First American building to open an account for a safety deposit box there.

You meanwhile in advance of all that, will cram yourself in the false bottom of the travel case and fill it up with the remainder of your stolen cash if and when anyone checks inside. Then when the time is right, you'll burst free from the case inside the vault!

"Yeah, that'll be cool! I really am the smartest and best villain of all time! Dad will be so proud... erm, maybe not."

Again, this plan isn't without risk to the various steps along the way but you feel it's less risky than the other options you can think of. Risky as you believe it to be though, paranoia drives you to go above and beyond with precautions taken. Like not just using fake accounts to communicate with people, but doing so with a disposable laptop at an internet cafe where there's no surveillance, and even hiring a second person to transport the case to the bus station and rent the locker there so you don't have to. With the days to spare, there's all sorts of ways you can try and distance yourself from the impending crime itself.

Until of course you finally engage in it personally, come the big day.

You hadn't looked forward to it before, but the hardest and most unpleasant part ends up being contorted and crammed into the bottom of a travel case in a way that only an elastic body can. For a few hours at least you're uncomfortably compressed and stuck in darkness, only the muffled sounds of the world around you as some connection. Having only your thoughts to occupy yourself with, if it weren't for the giddy anticipation of the caper to come you never would bother doing something like this. If anything you feel it's beneath you really as a supervillain and in the future you'd prefer more dignified (or at least more comfortable) crime plans.

But then, hopefully that will be the way after this is done, and everything will change for you.

"-bwuh? O-Oh... here we go..."

Perhaps dangerously and a bit stupidly, it seems at some point you dozed off so it's a good thing you're stirred awake by what can only be your hired patsy, dragging the case out of the locker and starting to wheel it along on their trek to the bank's corporate building. There's still to be a good while of waiting cooped up like this, but at least everything is going to plan so far. Probably another hour or so by your guess when the bank is finally reached and the patsy seeks the help of an employee to go through the process of getting a safe deposit box. Although you can only hear muffled conversation and happenings outside the case, you become convinced of what's happening when you feel the case being moved and opened for whomever it is to check the contents.

Again it's a lengthy process, longer than you would have expected or hoped but finally the case is on the move again and not outside the building either, so your excitement grows as you believe yourself to be getting closer and closer to your target. It takes as much self-control as you can muster to remain still and try not to make any noise with breathing or otherwise. Until it is that finally, you feel the case lifted up onto something and opened to be emptied, with accompanying sounds of keys and locks and metal doors and cases.

Just a few more moments until...

"...ha-HA!"

"Wha-?!"

"Holy sh-!!"

Tensing your body all at once, you burst out of the false bottom of the case after a bit of a violent struggle, scattering a shower of money through the air. Landing roughly on the floor after falling from a metal transport cart with the now-broken case, but you scramble to your feet to pose villainous and victorious amid that display. To the bewilderment of two men standing before you, one in plain clothes and a few years older than you... your patsy, and the other an older fellow in business clothes... the manager you assume, if the keys in his hands are anything to go by.

Quickly you look about the closed room with smooth paved floor, lined with metal walls of deposit boxes. A short corridor of them turning out of sight to whatever else is situated in this place... the vault, if you were a betting woman. A gleeful smile spreads across your face and it's hard to contain the excitement in your success, so far, as you return to looking back at the two men.

"...can I help you miss?"

"Wait hold on, she... you were hiding in there the whole time?!"

You may have expected some sort of commotion from your sudden emergence out of the case, and there surely will be soon enough. For the moment though, it seems the two men are simply shocked that a strangely dressed young woman just exploded out of the travel case they'd been transporting and deliberating over for the last couple hours. Still trying to process what has just happened and without you making clear your intent, they don't take you to be a hostile party yet. Pretty quickly though you notice their demeanor change to unease, the longer they look at you... ah right, the discomfort and alarm at seeing your torso elastically distend from such deep breaths you're taking. In your defense though it was tough being stuffed in that travel case for hours, so you're appreciating the chance to breathe freely again.

Either way though, however anyone acts hereafter, the fact remains that your plan worked. At least so far. You managed to infiltrate the holdings vault, with none the wiser and only your hired patsy and the manager here. Just the two of them aware of your presence and just the two of them to deal with. However you wouldn't expect it to remain that way for long, especially if either you or these men make much a commotion in here.

Who needs subtlety when you're a supervillain? That they aren't cowering in fear of you already is a grave mistake! And considering this is something of your villainous debut, the first time committing a big-time caper and disguised in your super-outfit, you feel obligated to live up to your chosen role.

"Mwahahaha!! Tremble before the villainy of Carr- whoops, I mean, Stretch Goals! Surrender to me citizens, and you just might make it through this unharmed! My devious scheme focuses on the vault here, and-"

"-I'm sorry, could you say the first part again? I don't get what you mean by stretch goals."

That was a bit rude of your patsy, to interrupt you like that during your big villain spiel. You expected to proclaim your superiority, so you're a little caught off guard by the questioning.

"...what? No, that's my name! My supervillain name, I mean."

"Pffft- your name is Stretch Goals?"

"Um... yeees? I mean, yes! It's a good name!" you cross your arms in upset, "...what's wrong with it- hey!"

While trying to debate the matter with your patsy, the bank manager takes the chance to try and flee. In a panic you hurry after him, and with a running jump practically throw yourself after the guy. You don't weigh enough and aren't strong enough to cause more than him to stagger a bit, but having landed on his back you quickly stretch and contort your limbs around him, particularly his own legs so that he trips and falls in a mess tangled up by you. What horror he would express at seeing a woman's body elastically snake about him, is quickly stifled when you wrap your arm around his neck and mouth. Though he does physically try and struggle against your tangling grapple, it's like fighting against quicksand since anywhere he does pry you off of him you quickly just constrict back.

Almost as much a weird experience for you as it is for the older guy, since you only recently started embracing your superpower and certainly have never fought against someone like this before. But in the moment of panic over catching the guy, you just do what you can to subdue him since trying to fight him otherwise would probably fail.

"...are you gonna make me catch you too?!"

"-hey, whoah! No lady, I don't know what's up with you, but I'll do whatever it takes to not have... that happen to me."

Angrily you look back to the patsy, who just watches what happened dumbfounded. Hoping to escape the same fate as the manager, he immediately gives up any attempt at a fight or escaping. Such is the case you might expect, when people learn you're a superhuman and distinctly, a strange and very visible sort of superhuman.

You didn't really hurt him at all, but make clear that you can and will hurt him, either of the two men if they cause you any more trouble or make too much noise. For what it's worth, one of the few things you managed to bring with you is a taser but you hope to not have to use it.

Getting back to your feet then and returning your body to form, you march the manager back over to the patsy so that you can better manage them together. May as well zip-tie a wrist of each of theirs together as well, so they can't easily fight back against you or run away.

"What do you plan on doing here, miss?" the manager finally addresses you condescendingly, "The deposit box rows here are the only part of the vault without security cameras, the moment you step around the corners you'll be noticed."

"Hey, how the hell are you even going to get out of here lady? I'm sure not carrying you back out." the patsy adds, more just annoyed by all this trouble you're putting him through.

Well your two captives might raise some good points, that you hadn't really planned for... but what does any of that matter to you?! You know of course that you are the greatest supervillain who ever lived, and you'll probably figure some way out of all this... right? The important thing is you're in the vault and got your two captives under control, without any alarms yet being raised. Furthermore you have the bank manager with you, and importantly the various keys needed to have access to whatever you want in here.

It's just a question of, what do you want to go after of value? Depending on what you choose, it sounds like the moment you set about it alarms are going to raise and the clock will start ticking down for you.

After the time it takes to pressure the manager to open a few safe deposit boxes and sort through them, you realize it will take much longer than you're comfortable with to rob any substantial amount of them. Even without the authorities breathing down your neck, you want to be out of here as quickly as possible. So while you did pilfer a few boxes and got a few nice things to stash in...

"Oh right I broke the travel case, oops... um, give me your jacket."

"This is a tailored suit Miss, a matched set. I can't just get a new jacket."

"Really? Oh, well uh... do you have any bags around here or something?"

Your current outfit is skimpy sports wear for maximum body mobility to your superpower, so you can't just shove things down your clothes for storage. Fortunately there is a janitor's cart around the corner that you can have the two men fetch you a trash bag from, to gather up both the strewn about money from the broken case and used as a decoy, as well as the small collection of valuables looted form the few deposit boxes.

After that then, with everything else in order you set your sights on the real prize. Elsewhere in the vault has got to be some stacks of cash just waiting for regional distribution, and the manager confirms as much. You'll bring attention to yourself the moment you go for it, but that is the kind of value you want to quickly make off with rather than losing track of time going through deposit boxes.

"...hey. Hey! Mr. Seddon! Sir!"

Coming into sight of security cameras is one thing, but you know for sure you're noticed when you pass by the open vault door with your captives, in sight of the guard stationed just outside there. He's not sure what to make of it, what to make of you particularly, but he knows something is wrong and scrambles to activity. You can't have long then, before the police will be storming into the building.

"Oh hey look! There it is, you weren't kidding! Hurry hurry, get the door open!"

Sure enough on the other side of the vault is a metal-barred partition within which is the actual store of wealth for safekeeping. Pressuring the manager to open the barred door, you yourself just elastically squeeze through the bars so that by the time your captives join you in the room, you're already shoveling stacks of packaged cash off the shelves and into your trash bag.

You lightly toss the gold bar to your patsy for him to see what you mean about the weight, which does indeed impress him, but he tosses it back with a reality check about the situation.

"Just turn yourself in to the police Miss, they're probably outside already."

"Well I can change the shape of my body, sort of... but I don't think I could just transform into a police officer, not with this outfit- oh wait, you mean surrender to them? Ha, why would I?! Everything is going according to plan!"

Though the manager makes some feeble attempt to convince you to give up, the heft of wealth in your trash bag is too strong of an argument otherwise! Besides, why would you give up when you're only getting started? No, everything has gone well so far, no need to quit while you're ahead. Just as soon as you gather your valuables, lead your captives back, and...

...oh right, the problem of escape. You were so busy planning the way into the vault and so excited with your success, that you sort of kind of forgot about the way out. By the time you leave the barred partition of the vault, there's now several guards beyond the bars before the opened vault door, and an audible alarm from outside. Seems they're scrambling to find who has another set of keys like what the manager with you has, to get in and out. When it was just one guard before you weren't that worried, but now there's four of them outside, four men you wouldn't want to engage with even if you didn't have to worry about your bag of valuables to mind.

The good news at least, there's no police yet but you wouldn't expect more than a few minutes before you start hearing sirens approaching. And then not long after that, whatever heroes aren't busy at the charity sports event over at the old stadium right now.

Being yelled at through the bars by all the men scrambling to get into the vault gets to be pretty frightening, making you nervous to think of what's going to happen when they get inside and starting to influence your decision process. Maybe one person you could fight against and defeat, but not a bunch of guards and whoever else. Not that you expect they could hurt you in any meaningful way, since your superpower mitigates physical trauma, but if a few men were to just pile onto you then they could simply hold you in place. Not defeated but certainly detained.

"L-Leave me alone! Go away! This isn't cool, I don't want this."

And with only your taser to rely on... you start scrambling for some other plan of escape. What you have to work with, well there's your two captives and the vault itself. You could go the hostage route but you worry that would prolong things, especially with the police on the way. The vault though, the secure partition? There's three sets of barred doors for anyone to have to get past; at the vault entrance, the partition and lastly the room within that where the gold is kept.

Perhaps if you relied on any portion of the vault, between the different sets of bars? Even the bank manager took time to have to open each barred door with keys, so every moment afforded to you is beneficial. With some quick thinking and acting then, you go back to the corridor of safe deposit boxes to stow your trash back of valuables in one of the larger opened boxes. Then you return with your two captives to the secure partition and lock yourselves in, before finally moving yourself into the last barred room with the gold.

Then, it's just a matter of time. Waiting anxiously, fearfully, but determined.

"Do we have the key for this one? We do? Bring it over!"

"You're stuck in there now ma'am, are you going to do the right thing?"

"What's with this chick, look what she's wearing!"

It only takes a few minutes for the guards to pile into the partition, even if it feels like an eternity with a clock ticking down in the back of your mind. Just as you hoped though, once inside they lock the doors again. Probably just in case you should try to slip past them and escape, but of course they don't know about your superhuman abilities.

So when the lot of them crowd around bars to the small gold room you're in and call for the keys, you figure you only need to make some space...

"-ow! Hey!"

"Stop it! Stop that!"

Unsure of what else to do, you start grabbing gold bars and throwing them at the men. Of course the things are heavy so you aren't able to heft them that much, and more than a few just hit the barred door rather than going through. But you manage to chuck a couple at the guards so that they make a little space in front of the door, exactly what you wanted. A moment's hesitation before you take a breath, and lunge forward.

"Grab her! Grab her!"

"-what the fuck?!"

"-hey! Let go of me!"

"What's she... what is this?!"

Quickly you squeeze through the bars and back into the main room of the partition. The sight of this startles a few of the guards, while several others move to detain you. Sure enough though they soon find to their horror that you aren't normal, as they try to grab or hold onto you but your body stretches and deforms with their efforts. Enough of a shock that most of the men don't even know what to make of you, and the few who keep up their efforts aren't ever able to restrain you long before you find some way of stretching or slipping out of their grasp.

If they had all been prepared and acted in unison you probably would have been subdued, but as a realization display, your little stunt throws any effort of coordination out of whack. Enough to where you can struggle your way through the partition and just barely make it to the barred doors to squeeze through again. Scrambling to your feet and straightening up in a triumphant display, in disbelief at your accomplishment but giddy with excitement over your success.

"-hahaaah... well gentlemen, it was fun! You ought to be commended for your attempt to catch... Stretch Goals!"

"...wait, is that really her name?"

With a smile and a bow to the guards then, you hurry back over to the deposit boxes to fetch your trash bag of valuables, and then it's out the barred door at the vault entrance. Which, you yourself can squeeze through easily enough but find yourself in a bit of a panic when the trash bag won't fit between the bars, too bulky with loot.

It takes you a desperate couple of minutes of tugging the bag against the bars and scrambling to shift and empty the contents around, before you finally get it through and just in time as the guards unlock themselves from the secure partition and pile against the barred vault door.

"And a thanks to you two as well!"

"Uhh... good luck?"

And of course, your two captives waiting outside the vault. Having hurried out when the guards were opening and closing doors to get to you, the manager and your patsy stand in shock or awe of you managing to have escaped with the money despite a host of guards. You give the two of them a big hug partly in appreciation but mostly just out of high spirits from your escape.

Well, maybe not truly escaped, as you hurry to try and find your way out of here... recalling that you were transported within via a travel case so all of this is new to you, trying to navigate a building you've never seen or been through before. Well not never, you vaguely recall your school field trip down here when you were a kid. But by the time you manage to find your way from the vault sub-level, upstairs by an emergency fire exit, you thankfully emerge into a much fancier part of the building and can see windows up high... at street level again, but you can distantly hear sirens outside now.

Holding your bag stuffed full of valuables to your chest in worry, you wonder what to do now.

The arrival of the police just means the perfect audience, truly the greatest opportunity for your devious debut! What better stage to announce yourself upon, than front and center of city (and perhaps even national) news? Hefting your trash bag then, you boldly and victoriously stroll on through the building, towards the main atrium and entrance. Along the way you notice a fair few people either fleeing or sheltering in place, most if not all of them unaware of the situation beyond alarms and apparent word of a robbery.

None of that is your concern though, as you press on through the rotating doors and emerge outside once again, already feeling a little chill due the scant covering provided by your outfit. It seems you're not alone however, as a small crowd of people are being dispersed by both security and the newly arrived police trying to gain control of the situation.

"-gonna have to move out of here, this is an active crime scene!"

"This way ma'am, if you-"

"...wait, is she the one?!"

There aren't enough people for you to blend in with the crowd, and it doesn't help when everyone quickly notices you by how differently you're dressed, and gives you space. Whether or not these civilians are fully aware of you or the situation is unclear, but the police certainly are. Although it seems they didn't expect you outside so quickly, nor to have just walked out the main exit unchecked.

"Mwahahahaha!! That's right officer, I am the one... the supervillain! Who just-"

"What she say?"

"You'll have to speak up, the sirens!"

Understandably some difficulty in communication, what with the noise of the gathered people around and the police cars forming a perimeter and shutting down streets. You're a little annoyed but now that people start dispersing to move away from you, others farther out are noticing that something's up and particularly a news crew on the scene a ways away.

Exactly what you wanted, as you strike what you believe to be a victorious pose, and perhaps a little sexy to boot.

"I said, I'm the supervillain who just robbed the bank! Or well, the building, it's not actually a bank... but you heard me right, there's a new supervillain in town! Malton is in for a reign of terror from Stretch Goals, for this is only the beginning!"

"Hah, that's a good one... alright, come along ma'am."

"-hey! Let go of me! Why is no one taking me seriously?!"

You thought your villainous debut was awesome, you certainly feel that way having made it. Whether the officers think you're crazy or something though, they obviously don't seriously believe you, and the nearest one just grabs you by the arm and starts hauling you away. Without him expecting it, you can easily slip his grasp and reach for your bag to open it enough and show off the valuable contents within.

"Look, see?! All from the vault, all stolen by me! A supervillain, not just some petty- gyah!"

"Get her! Take her down!"

Demonstrating that the police are more prepared than the bank guards, you almost immediately get jumped by the nearest three officers once you display the contents of the bag to everyone. A fitful struggle follows, similar to your encounter with the guards in the vault before, where you have to make use of your powers in order to escape. At least, while still keeping hold of the bag which one officer specifically tried to take from you. Frightened by the sudden escalation, you notice more police approaching fast and scramble to your feet and run back to the building entrance in a panic.

Roughly shoving through the rotating doors to find yourself among a different small crowd of people having gathered within the entrance atrium, at the doors to watch what was taking place outside. By now they're aware of you and what's going on, backing away in a panic to give you space. The civilians at least, not the few security guards among them who cautiously approach.

"Give it up lady, the cops are coming!"

"Uhh uhh... here, catch! Dinner's on me, everyone!"

Clutching the bag of valuables to your chest in worry, you make a snap decision and reach into the bag once more for a couple handfuls of loose bills to toss at the crowd and in the air. The resulting scramble overwhelms the security guards and even delays the police officers in their pursuit of you, only moments behind. Doing your best to avoid the crowd then, you break into a run back through the building again looking for somewhere, anywhere to escape to.

How about... upstairs? You rush to the elevator lobby and hurriedly smack all the buttons, jumping on the first one that arrives after giving the occupants a chance to get off. Just in time too, as right about then do you see the group of security guards from the vault, finally having gotten out and followed in pursuit of you upstairs to the ground floor. The group of them rushing for you, and the police close behind as the elevator doors close.

Taking the elevator as high up the skyscraper as you possibly could, and relying on fire escape stairs the rest of the way, you manage to reach the uppermost floors of the tower in pretty short order and without much attention. Of course you've been so quick about the robbery so far that people haven't had a chance to evacuate the building, if there even was a need to, so the upper floors are certainly not empty and you pass by many people along the way. But as of yet you were nothing more than a strange sight to them, some strangely dressed trespasser? Security will deal with it probably.

So you can make it all the way to the top floor without triggering too many door alarms, finding a rather expansive and fancy sky lobby as well as what you assume to be the bank's corporate boardroom. And saying nothing of the incredible view over your city, but of course you'll be seeing it even better soon enough. Running about the uppermost floor every which way you can trying to find an access to the roof.

"Oh no... locked?! No, I didn't come all this way for nothing..."

Enough searching and you can locate a secured maintenance way to the roof, but as you probably should have expected it's locked. You start to panic about what to do, until remembering the gold bar still weighing you down in the trash bag amongst all the cash. Good thing you brought it with you, as you fish the gleaming brick out and use it to smash open the door. Of course an alarm sounds, but you're much more taken aback by the blast of wind when the door slams open.

Careful, carefully now... moving slowly along the terraced rooftop, alongside and between the great metal spires that jut skyward against the afternoon sun. You're not too afraid of heights and given the surface area of the rooftop of a building this size, you're not in any risk of falling unless you intentionally move too close to the exterior. However it's still a lot to take in for you, that you remain on edge while up here. Shaking and shivering from anxiety and cold temperature alike.

Thankfully it shouldn't be for long though, as by coming all the way up here you're really only left with one option. Looking up at the spires, and around at the city below.

"I guess... it's now or never. Oh I hope this doesn't hurt... well, either it will or it won't be my problem anymore."

You very much would have preferred to practice or work your way up to something like this beforehand, but now there's no chance for that anymore. All you can figure is... to wrap your arms around a pair of the spires in a particular direction, stretch yourself as far back as you can, and then let go to slingshot your whole body as far in that particular direction as you can. Your hope of course is to land on the roof of some nearby building rather than just falling to the streets below, but you've never attempted something like this before so you really have no idea how it might go. Furthermore at this height, even if you made it such a distance to land on the nearest and next tallest building, it would still be a fatal distance for any human. As resilient as your superhuman body is, the knowledge of that doesn't just do away with the instinctive aversion to death. Same as how you could take a punch to the face without harm, but that doesn't mean you wouldn't still flinch.

Again though, you've kind of left yourself without a lot of options now that you're up here. Faced with the authorities hot in pursuit, probably only a couple minutes behind at the most, you may prefer to just take your chances and hope for the best.

You're already undertaking an immense risk by considering this, but then it was an immense risk to get involved with any of this to begin with. Robbing a bank? The only reason you've made it even this far is because you're superhuman, anyone else would still be stuck dealing with the barred doors of the vault! No, if you were risk averse then you wouldn't be up here now.

Still, looking down at the city around you, it's a daunting and fearsome prospect. With little other choice however, you run a quick loop around the rooftop to do a survey of the nearby skyline and other highrises, figuring what you'll try to aim for so that you can choose the correct pair of metal spires. Then, you loop the trash bag of valuables under your sports bra and tie it off so that you don't have to worry about losing it, and finally make several attempted efforts to elastically wrap your hands and wrists around said pair of spires. Though it would be easier to just grab and hold them, you know you don't have the strength for such a grip once you start stretching the rest of your body far enough away.

That effort which takes a couple minutes for you to manage, as you keep losing your footing and getting dragged back towards your hands wrapped around the spires, and otherwise this overall takes as much might and effort as you possibly can muster to stretch your body to your limits. Becoming more and more painful the further you stretch to your limits.

"Alright, here we go... come on, let's go... do it! Do it! Come on Carol... come on... I... I can't..."

As high as the stakes are and as much as you try to hype yourself up for this, the instinctive fear is simply too great for you to overcome, and you end up caught in a panic not wanting to let go and unleash yourself. Your mind a frantic mess of possibilities otherwise, considering perhaps even to just give up and surrender at this point. All of this, it really is too much for you and perhaps you've reached your limit.

It was fun while it lasted, but here at the end of things you've got to admit, it was a pretty silly fantasy-

"Don't move!"

"Gyah!-hhhaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH-"

The sudden arrival of the police on the rooftop, their hostile demeanor, startles you enough that you lose your footing. After that, well... your entire body, massively elongated body snaps back to form in the direction between the two spires. There's even an audible sound somewhere between an elastic twang and the slapping of flesh, as you are slingshot from the top of the tower and out over the city. The experience is so sudden and violent to you, so much force applied that you mind hasn't the ability to process it. Just an overwhelming blur of color and intense force. Until it is finally that your body catches up with you in an sense and fully returns to form, for some glorious few moments as you soar through the air, free as a bird with the wind whipping your hair.

"-ahah... ahahahahah-haaaaaAAAAAAAAGH!"

Surprise, bewildered, amazed, delighted, such a mixed surge of emotions in your elated heart for that sensation of flying through the air over the world and against a golden sky... until slungshot momentum gives way to freefall. The dreadful feeling as all your pleasant emotions are near-instantly washed over by terror, screaming and flailing as you fall. For what it's worth you did manage a significant distance away from the First American tower, having cleared enough distance that there's a different highrise beneath you. But it's coming up fast and all your panicked mind can think of is how much it's going to hurt when you hit the roof, if you even survive to feel it.

"-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"

"-gotcha!"

Between your screaming and the intense wind you hadn't heard the approaching sound of a jet plane, or perhaps a rocket. A sudden and violent stop in your fall that utterly bewilders you in its unexpectedness. Not as sudden or as violent as if you'd just hit the ground or the roof, something cushioned and moving. Instinctively and in your panic you violently grab and wrap body around whatever it is, for the few moments you have till landing atop the roof.

"-stop it! I can't fly like this!"

A rough landing as it were, but nothing like falling off a skyscraper. A messy tumble between you and... another person? Whoever it is, the pair of you roughly come to rest after skidding across the rooftop. Perhaps not as delicately handled as your would-be savior may have intended, but your own body ends up dampening most of the impact for the both of you.

Again though, the entire experience from slingshotting off the tower roof to now here, was so terrifying and intense that your mind is struggling to process it all and catch up with where things are now. The other person, a man by the sound of things and feel of his physique, eventually starts moving with a groan to try and reach his feet. He faces difficulty though with your body and limbs haphazardly wrapped around him every which way and entirely though.

He struggles to get you off of him, but really it's only once you start regaining your senses and gradually calming down, that you start to loosen your bodily grip of him and slide off. Remaining sat on the ground though, clutching your head and bringing your knees to your chest, breathing heavily from it all. Only when you feel a firm hand on your shoulder, are you better able to perceive the world around you again. Hearing a voice transmitted through a helmet.

"Are you alright missy? Are you hurt?"

Heart hammering in your chest, adrenaline making you feel sick, you're not sure why but you feel compelled to hug him... and start sobbing as a result. Well you try and hug him, but as he's standing next to you, you kind of just hang onto his waist. But it's a comfort anyway, to help get over the terrible wash of emotions you're trying to cope with, as a result of all that sudden excitement. The wrong kind of excitement. Having faced the prospect of death and survived, you don't much care what condition anyone sees you in right now, distressed crying or otherwise.

Though, eventually as you start calming down better and steadying your breathing, wiping away the tears... realization starts creeping in. As to the situation and specifically who this guy is, how you ended up here with him. The hissing and steam (or exhaust?) from the apparatus on his back, he managed to catch you in your freefall because he was flying. It wouldn't matter how he was dressed for you to know that he's a superhero.

"Don't cry, you're alright now... hey, you mind telling me why you jumped off the tower like that?"

And you, of course, are a supervillain. Whom he's just caught, at least in a literal sense. At least you're away from the authorities, but this is a whole other situation now. A whole other potential danger. For what it's worth, you wanted this to be your supervillainous debut and would it really be complete without a superhero?

Given the uncertainty of the situation, you could very easily imagine yourself getting nervous or afraid of the guy under normal circumstances. But after what you just experienced, settling down from such an emotional flux, dealing with a stranger hero feels like a cakewalk. Maybe not in terms of what you actually do, but for keeping your composure and having the confidence to hold your own against a potential enemy.

"I didn't just jump off, I was trying to get away. Not all of us have flying jetpack things you know... wait, who are you anyway?"

"Me? Well if we're doing names, I go by Jetstream. That's what everyone calls me at least, how about yourself?"

When you hear his name your heart skips a beat. You know about him without having to think on it, he's one of the few famed superheroes of your city. Not the most famous or celebrated but he still makes the news. You try not to lose your cool but it's hard not to get excited, for you it's like meeting a celebrity! And what more, you've met under the circumstances as a superhero and a supervillain. You might have secretly hoped for it, but never actually imagined that you'd cross paths with a hero on your villainous debut.

Naturally then, when asked about yourself, you scramble to your feet for a triumphant pose befitting a supervillain's introduction.

"Mwahahahah... me?! Why of course, I-"

"-ah, you might wanna... wardrobe..."

Averting his gaze once you make it to your feet, you flush red when noticing your skimpy outfit ill-fitting and hanging loose off your body, after having stretched your body to your limits. And after being slingshot through the air at such speed, you suppose it's just luck that you even have anything left on you at all. Hastily you adjust your outfit and untie the trash bag of valuables from your sports bra, before trying to play off your embarrassment with feigned confidence.

"-ahahaaah... it's Carr- I mean, Stretch Goals. That's my name."

"Oh that's pretty cool! Because of the... stretching thing you can do? That's impressive, whatever it is... good name."

It helps feeling less awkward when it seems the guy is embarrassed as well, but that's the least of your concerns when he comments on your introduction. That's the first time someone has complimented you over your villain identity, and from a hero no less! Your heart leaps to your throat, you're so elated and without a care for anything else that's happened all day. You'd hug him again in glee if you weren't trying to act the part.

Unfortunately though, after such a great start he has to go and rain on your parade.

"Well if you can explain it to the court, they tend to go... easier on mutants- er, superhumans, sorry... as a first time offender they probably won't throw the book at you, but then you did rob a bank?"

"Ehehehe, likes my name... wait, what are you saying?"

"If you come with me, I'll take you to the police. Do everything I can to help, say you surrendered and cooperated and all that, they like that and it sounds good."

He'd moved towards you and put his arm around your shoulder, in what you thought was friendly gesture, if a bit forward. When he starts talking about your crime and the authorities though, you realize (and try not to panic) that it's an attempt to get you to lower your guard and cooperate. Give yourself up so he can hand you over to be arrested.

"What?! No! I'm not surrendering or cooperating!"

"Ugh... please? I saved your life, you can't make this easy?"

"You didn't save nothing! You'll never take me alive hero!"

Annoyed and upset, you try and shove him away but aren't strong enough to budge him. You do manage to throw his arm off though, and clutching your trash bag of valuables you break into a sprint to get away from him. Where? It doesn't really matter to you, just away from him and away from the direction of the police. Approaching the edge of this building's rooftop, make a running jump much to his exclaimed alarm. Whereas you may have hesitated before, after your slingshot escape from above the 65th floor of the First American tower, a drop from this ten-story building's roof doesn't even phase you.

"-AAAGH-oof! Ouch! Gugh!"

Well maybe it should have concerned you, given the roughness of your fall. From your running leap you end up colliding smack dab into the brick wall of the adjacent building across the gap, falling all the way down and hitting a fire escape before landing on an air conditioning unit. Thanks to your elastic body you're barely even injured (though it does hurt some) but you're definitely left dazed from the rough fall, as you try and clamor off the humming machinery and drop to the ground of the alleyway.

Struggling to stand up with a wobbly body, around about the time as the hero descends to the alleyway for a fine landing.

"Come on Stretch Goals... is just Stretch okay? You give it much longer and one of the others will come for you... believe me, you don't want that."

He moves beside to help you stand up, though you shrug off his hands. Fortunately it does indeed seem that you've escaped the police for the time being (sirens audible not far away though), at least until they get a helicopter out to search for you. But like an aerial response, this guy can fly so you wonder how you'll be able to escape him. Scrambling for ideas, since if one hero is here now then it probably won't be long before others find you.

Your immediate impulse is to try and fight the guy, in a large part for feeling upset about how your interaction with him has gone. Probably normally you would be too worried or afraid to try something like that, but right now you're mad as hell! Fortunately not so mad that you forget the situation; the looming threat of the police and even other heroes. If this were say, some moonlit night on a rooftop without having commit any crime only there for a showdown, then you may well try to engage a hero. But succeeded in your robbery and you don't want to botch it by failing to escape.

So escape becomes your primary concern, though in a roundabout way you need to confront this bothersome hero if you want to get away. You can't very well escape after all, if he won't let you go. And as long as he can fly then that's a problem.

"-hey! Stretch, cut it out! This again?!"

"You're not taking me in, I'm not giving up!"

You didn't appreciate his help, but use his proximity beside you to your advantage. After some quick deliberating and realizing your only options, you hesitate for some long moments until he makes contact with you again, trying to move you along with him out of the alleyway. In a bit of a panicked response you throw yourself at the guy, clamoring up his chest and wrapping around his helmet so he can't see anything. Resulting in him stumbling against the air conditioning unit as he tries to yank your body off of him, but wherever he manages to pull you away you just stretch and snap back.

It isn't until he gives up trying to struggle against you mundanely, reaching for some sort of extending electrified baton or prod, that you panic and reorient yourself against his body. Stretching to move and wrapping yourself around his torso and particularly his shoulders and arms, to try and keep him from zapping you.

"-stop it, leave the pack alone! This is serious!"

"I'm serious! You better let me go, and leave me alone!"

The struggle is so hectic and visceral in the moment that you don't have much time to think about anything, though you are surprised by your own effort; if you tried to just normally fight this guy, you wouldn't even stand a chance. Using your superpower though and struggling in such a strange manner, it's not a coordinated or "clean" effort but you do manage to restrain a grown man and a superhero at that. At least enough to keep him from subduing you, prevent him from winning the fight.

His demeanor changes rather drastically however, from trying to cooperate with you, to outright trying to disable or hurt you when you start focusing on his back and particularly the jetpack. It hadn't been your intention at first, merely you were trying to stop him from using any gadgets against you. But with your body partly wrapped around his back, you can't help but notice the jetpack and the danger it poses you. Specifically his ability to pursue you without fail... so what if you were to disable it? You couldn't possibly hope to understand the apparatus and with it cased in metal you wouldn't be able to damage it. What if instead though, you just removed it from the guy's body?

Thinning yourself out to squeeze between his body and the device itself, and start pushing outward against his back with all your might. You're not strong enough to just bust the thing off him outright, but the space you create shows every connecting belt or latch to his body, which you immediately assault with your hands and body however you can to try and loosen, unlatch, or otherwise separate. Of course he doesn't just let you do this, but his violently serious effort to stop you takes many forms in rapid succession, from trying to attack you with various gadgets to simply trying to pin you in place between his back and the jetpack by backing up against a wall.

"-you don't know what you're doing Stretch! You're gonna get yourself killed!"

"Mwahaha! Sounds to me like you're scared of- WAAAAAGH!!"

Unfastening the securing harness or support belts is one thing, but when you find and pull tight some cable and try to bite through it, the jetpack suddenly activates. It probably wasn't Jetstream himself since he emergency separates him the rest of the way from the device, before he suffers the same fate you do... screaming bloody murder as the jetpack rockets off skywards in an uncontrolled flight, with you clinging to it for dear life. A black trail of smoke and fading screams in your wake, as you smash between the building walls of the alleyway back and forth in your ascent, till finally clearing the rooftops and spiraling off over the city skyline to god-knows-where.

"...oooouuuugh... my... everything hurts..."

Struggling to even move, you reach up to grip the rim of the dumpster and pull yourself up, alive but in a world of pain. As it were, the malfunctioning jetpack careened off through the skyline of Malton in a haphazard arc, striking and rebounding off several more city obstacles along the way before attaining a downward trajectory and and crashing back to the earth. And all the while, with you barely hanging on for having your body tangled in the harness trailing behind. The final landing was a crash along a rooftop restaurant, before plummeting over the side and taking you with it to smash-land in a heavy duty dumpster far below.

You think you probably lost consciousness from the impact or elsewhere along the way, eventually coming to and feeling like you lost in a game of chicken with a semi truck. You want to imagine that if you were seriously injured then you wouldn't be able to move as well, but it's still with a lot of pain regardless. Gingerly pulling yourself up and out of the dumpster, to land on the pavement outside it with a groan.

"Bwuhuhuuuh... daddy... I wish dad were here..."

You try not to sob too much from the pain, and rather more from just the overall stress and trauma of the day. Ending up in the gutter doesn't help either. For what it's worth though, if anyone knew where you were or were still after you, they certainly would have caught you by now. And fortunately you had the good sense, while struggling with Jetstream, to tie off the end of your trash bag of valuables around your neck... well maybe not the smartest idea for as risky as that could have been, but you do still have the bag with you. Weakly loosening it from your neck to look inside, a pained but triumphant villain laugh overcoming the sobs. Plus, well you'd rather not deal with it after how much trouble it caused, but there is the detached jetpack buried under debris at the bottom of the dumpster.

All in all, everything considered, not half a bad end to things. Could have gone better but could have gone much worse. Though you're not totally free yet, still needing a way to escape downtown and get back home. The way you reached downtown in the first place, you drove and parked your car in a parking deck far away from the scene of the crime. And if you needed to you could probably find out where you are and walk back to your car. But in your condition, in your outfit, with the trash bag of loot, and potentially even the jetpack? It's not an easy thing to accomplish.

Of course your first inclination is to destroy the jetpack, that damn thing that almost killed you. Using the dumpster again and wincing to pull yourself to your feet, you clamor back amongst the debris to drag the apparatus out. As far as you can tell it seems inoperable but that's not enough, you want to make sure it will never fly again. Unfortunately with what you have available to you, you don't think you'd be able to accomplish more than just banging on it with some discarded metal pipe or something. To really properly destroy the thing you'd probably need something industrial-grade like a compactor.

So you resolve to hide the thing for now and come back for it later, when eventually you can take it to a scrap yard or trash dump. In the meantime, your own predicament is more pressing. Leaning against the dumpster for support, you look about your surroundings to see what you can and try to figure out what you should do. Getting to your car would be ideal but you're in no condition to be wandering about downtown Malton, especially dressed as you are.

No, as unpleasant and unwanted as it may be, you'd do better to find some place to hide. To lie low and rest, at least till nightfall when your prospects for escape will be better. And so keeping to these alleys and backstreets, you stagger along checking doors and windows until eventually you find a parked semi-trailer in the rear loading bay of some business. Of course the thing is locked, but you can move the rolling door ever so slightly for enough of a gap that you can squeeze through.

Maybe it's not ideal but it's dark, quiet, and among the contents of the trailer you find some stacked carpets. Better than hiding in a dumpster, as you struggle to roll one out in the enclosed space, and pretty quickly pass out from exhaustion and pain.

"-no! Argh... that hurt."

Jolted awake from a fitful sleep by the sound of a passing helicopter overhead, you lash out in confusion with elongated limbs and catch yourself an unlucky one against something in the dark. Breathing heavy, eyes wild in panic, eventually your memory comes creeping back for you to be able to make sense of things, and where you are. Curling up on the rug and hugging your trash bag close for awhile, till you can settle down and think of what to do.

Eventually you do recollect yourself and your senses, making your way back out of the semi-trailer and noticing that you're feeling better. Still in pain across most of your body, but the dull pain of your injuries setting into your body, rather than the sharp pain of them fresh. And it is past nightfall now, however longer past you're not sure but the city lights of downtown Malton shine against a dark sky. Feeling better than you can skulk about the backstreets here, watching and waiting for any passerby until you can approach someone and offer to buy their clothes, or some of their clothes at least.

It takes several attempts but you cobble together enough of an outfit to fully conceal your villain attire, and able to take of the mask so you can walk the streets without obvious suspicion. You may still look odd, staggering along in pain and dressed all weird, clutching a trash bag as you go. But beyond the occasional weird looks and stops by strangers to ask if you're okay or need any help, you otherwise can make your way along the downtown streets without risk. Particularly so, with the frequent police vehicle and heightened police presence all over the place, which keeps you in a state of worry yet never do you actually get accosted by any officers.

And so finally, after eventually locating where in downtown you are and figuring where you need to, an hour or so walk and you can make your way back to your car. Finding the particular parking deck, struggling up the many flights of stairs, and finally unlocking your villainous sedan to collapse across the back seat. At least a good half an hour of just laying there processing the events of the day, after having turned the car on and getting the air conditioning going and the radio on...

"Uagh... no more... that's enough supervillainy for today..."

...the radio, with a constant barrage of reporting about the high profile crime of a supervillain that took place in downtown Malton. You switch to a music channel just to be able to relax. You're tired, you're thirsty, you're hungry, you're in pain, and you just want to go home.

Now that you're back to your car though and able to get your phone again, your stomach sinks when you turn it on to find countless missed calls and texts from your dad, and indeed after just a couple minutes of checking your get yet another call from him. As much as you want to go home, maybe it would be better for the time being if you didn't?

As much as you want to go home, get back to your room and just lay in your own bed, you know dad is going to be there and you're going to have to deal with all that fuss. If he's aware of the news and some high profile crime taking place, then he's probably worried himself sick about you same as if some accident or natural disaster happened. Of course you had your reasons not to call and let him know anything, but he'll naturally overreact and assume something happened to you.

So no, after all the stress of today, you'd prefer to avoid a concerned or stern talking to if you can avoid it. You text him that you're alright and everything is fine, so that he doesn't have to worry or do anything drastic, but then you turn off notifications and calls.

"I guess I could just sleep in the car here then... ugh, this sucks! After what I just pulled, I deserve a bed at least!"

You aren't going home then, but you still need a place to spend the night. Your first consideration is a hotel and certainly there are some fancy ones here in downtown, a nice taste of luxury after such a villainous victory. The more you think about it though, the more you feel like the best thing to do is to distance yourself from downtown altogether and not be anywhere near the crime scene if you can help it. Not like the police would have any reason to single you or your car out, but why even risk it? Not a hotel then, and not home, your friends maybe? Kelly or Chris would probably be fine with you crashing at their places, and it would be nice to spend time with them again after all you've been through. But then, if you rely on them you run the risk of suspicion, both from the condition you're in as well as anything relating to your villain activity such as your suit or the stolen wealth. Maybe you're being paranoid but that's another risk you'd rather not take.

About now you're feeling how much more convenient things would be, if you had your own lair or at least your own place. That you could perform any evil caper like the robbery, and be able to come home to your own place and kick back without any worries.

"Hmm? This is... oh right, that club thing..."

It does seem that there could be another option however. While checking your wallet and stowing some of the loose stolen cash if you should need it, you notice and draw to examine the sleek black card. Having stolen it from your dad's crooked former business partner, from his home safe no less, you'd kind of forgotten about it when faced with the much more significant matter of planning and preparing for the vault robbery. Given your current predicament however, you start considering it again.

Really you have no idea what to expect given how little information is on the card, but if there's any degree of exclusivity or professionalism to the place, then maybe someone there can help you? At the very least some of the employees may be able to find you accommodations for the night, even if it's just them arranging a hotel for you that isn't downtown. Plus, after everything you've been through today... all the trouble and danger and stress and pain and... it could be nice to spend the remainder of the evening at some fancy club, until you figure out where you'll be sleeping for the night or next few days even, till everything settles down.

Between driving and using your phone to navigate, it takes you about an hour to find what you assume is the right place. Notably it's in the fanciest part of town, Tyver Park where all the old mansions and rich people live. Though you can't do more than guess since the grounds of this place are obscured by tall trimmed hedges, and there's even a gate with a little guard house. Strange, that you've only seen that sort of thing at the entrance to suburbs in Malton, not individual homes. Then again this can't be just any home given the apparent size of the property from the extent of the hedges along the road, but you can't see much beyond the gate besides a gravel driveway lined with fancy lanterns.

"So dad and me are living in our dump, while Kovacs gets to kick back at a place like this? What a load!"

It makes you want to spit knowing your dad got the short end of the stick while his old business partner lives the high life in such luxury. It just makes you all the more glad that you recently robbed his house and gave him a little comeuppance. Now then, you might as well make the most of things and rack up the debt or favors on his club membership, at least for the night if not the weekend!

Only question is... knowing nothing about this place, how do you want to approach? Both in terms of dress, and how you'll behave or act.

With absolutely no idea what this place is like, you're left a bit nervous on how you should approach the situation. Even the club card itself has nothing but a name and a scan code which sent you the address. Still, you know at least that the card had been kept secure in a hidden safe, and that you'll want to be careful when it belongs to someone you committed a crime against. That tells you that there's something important or exclusive about this place and that you'll need to be careful about your identity.

There's still other ways you're at risk of course, like using your car to get here (you at least bother to remove the plates before driving up), but after everything else you've been through today you'd like to not continue pulling your hair out over every tiny detail. Taking a deep breath then and re-affixing your mask, you roll up to the gate of the property. Waiting for longer than you're proud to admit before noticing a little camera-and-intercom box standing amid the tall hedge. You lean out of the car window to examine it and eventually have the idea to wave the card before the box, causing the gate to open.

"Good evening... Miss Kovacs? How can I be of service?"

"Oh, hi! I'm uhh... here? For the thing?" you wave the card again, unsure of what to do.

"Head right on in, to the valet. And, headlights please."

As nervous as you had been approaching the entrance, uncertain of how you'd be received, you're thankfully surprised to find that the guard seems to have no qualms about you wearing a mask. So he opens the gatehouse for you to proceed ahead along the gravel drive, having to go by the aligning row of fancy lanterns without the use of your headlights. The property is quite sizeable from what you can gather of the sweeping grounds, though it doesn't take long to reach the place itself. A fancy old estate lowly lit, bigger than most of the mansions around here but not the biggest you've seen in Malton for sure. You try to glean anything you can from the place as you approach but from the outside it appears normal enough.

"Keys please!"

"Oh uhh... lemme get my bag."

You slow to a stop on the gravel drive that makes a roundabout before the front of the house, trying to examine the entrance before a valet startles you. You're not too keen on giving your car over to someone else, but it will probably end up with the few other parked cars you saw past the side of the house.

Leaving you standing there on the gravel then before the entrance, clutching the disabled jetpack (bundled up in clothes) and your trash bag of wealth slung over your shoulder. You give one last look around the exterior of the house before making your way to the entrance along the lighted path and steps.

"Welcome Miss Kovacs! So good to have you tonight!"

"O-Oh hello, nice to meet you... uhh, who are you?"

"You can call me Ryan."

"And I'm Robin. We'll be your hosts tonight!"

As soon as you make it up the steps the front doors are opened and you're ushered inside by a friendly pair. A young man and woman, both dressed formally and speaking with some accent. They're quite charming towards you but their effect is the opposite as you become nervous, worried even by their white rabbit masks. The few others you can glimpse from the entrance hall of the mansion, you can see all have similar masks as well.

At least you're somewhat dressed for the occasion you suppose, with your own mask.

"It's always good to see a new face, and young too! How wonderful, usually we aren't as close to our guests in age."

"Oh, but you can't join the fun looking like this! Come along dear, we'll have you the most lovely woman here tonight!"

The pair of them size you up, though your attention is more occupied as your eyes nervously dart about, still trying to figure out what this place is from any clues you could possibly notice. When the attention is drawn to you however, you do feel pretty self-conscious compared with them and this place; dressed in an ill-fitting hodgepodge of random clothes, and smelling like a sweaty dumpster. You're alarmed when they lead you away with them, up carpeted stairs and down stately corridors to a regal room. The more you see of everything the more you feel out of place.

"I think a wash is in order, quick as you please."

"Something nice to wear as well. Can't have you to the party looking like this!"

"I uh... okay, but I don't want to leave these just lying out."

Prompted to the bathroom, you set the bundled jetpack and the money in the bathtub, before taking some time to marvel at the facilities themselves. Just from what you've seen so far you've never been in a place this high class, so you're more than a little off-guard to go along with what you're told, wanting to feel as little out of place and awkward as possible. You can get the shower running and undress from these strangers' clothes, lastly your skimpy supervillain outfit as well. Bundling everything up and setting them on the sink counter, after which you get into the shower.

And groaning, from the pleasant sensation of the hot water to your injured body, as well as watching the tiled floor as surprising amounts of dirt and grime wash from your body down the drain. A bath would have been better for your condition you think, but this is certainly a welcome relief.

"-no, no I'm not finished! H-Hey?! What are you doing?!"

"Helping, of course!"

"It's our duty to make sure you're presentable!"

From under the water you thought you heard the bathroom door open, and cover yourself up in a panic when you see Ryan and Robin through the glass door of the shower, promptly undressing and moving to join you under the water. You withdraw in a panic, up against the wall and ready to either stretch your way up and over out of the glass walls of the shower, or to viciously fight them if you have to. You're somewhat disarmed however, by the strange sight of them both having swapped their rabbit masks for blindfolds, and how easily they seem to navigate without use of their eyes. Although, the weirdness of the situation might have caught you off guard enough to not just attack, the embarrassment is no less severe.

"-no! Don't touch me!"

"H-Hey! Careful! You don't have to get rough!"

"Relax dear, relax! We'll have you washed and ready, here smell this Italian shampoo and tell me you don't want it!"

Still desperate to move your way around the pair and escape the shower, you turn hostile when they reach for and make contact with you, moving against and slamming Ryan to the wall. Though the pair of them are in amazing shape body-wise so you're certainly not stronger than the guy, he doesn't react or resist you at all and simply tries to defuse the situation. Robin as well, hesitantly touches and then gently grips at your arm to get you to try and not be so on edge. Well maybe you won't fight them, but you're not comfortable playing along. So you end up just sitting awkwardly and embarrassed on the tiles with your knees to your chest, as Ryan and Robin with use of the shower head and the various fancy cosmetics, try to wash you as much as you'll tolerate. Which isn't much, you prefer to do whatever you can yourself, however they admittedly do an amazing job washing and treating your hair.

Well you don't enjoy the discomfort of being attended so... closely by the pair, but the estate otherwise is so wonderful that maybe you wouldn't mind staying awhile? As long as you can get people to leave you alone, and just enjoy yourself. In any case you're glad when Ryan and Robin are finally content with how clean you are, that fetch towels to dry you off and cover up. And in the process, come to notice a pair of... are those scars? Branding marks? Whatever they are, a pair of identical marks above their right shoulder blades.

"Here you are dear, so we can switch back to our masks."

"I agree with Robin, you strike me as a cat dear."

You find yourself presented with a black cat mask, which despite being creepy, in this regard may be preferable to your usual domino mask because this fully covers the upper half of your face rather than just around your eyes. And once you accept to put it on, they too swap back to their rabbit masks, in order to see for the remainder of what they're doing. Ryan takes his leave for the time being, leaving you in the care of Robin. As she pulls out a rotating chair for you so that she can blow dry your hair and make further (resisted) attempts to pretty you up with whatever fancy cosmetics you tolerate. Again, same as with washing your hair, for what little you allow her to do she proves to be very good at it. And finally, you're a bit ashamed of yourself for gasping, but you didn't expect to be surprised by Ryan on his return with such an elegant black dress to wear. Brand new it seems, and seemingly perfect size for your body proportions suspiciously enough.

All in all by the time you get dressed, needing help since you're not used to fancy dresses like this, you're shocked to see yourself in the mirror. More than just a completely different person, you look like no person you've ever seen before except on TV. And with Ryan and Robin standing dressed similarly fancy, you look and start to even feel like you fit in with them.

"I-Is that... really me?"

"Oh look, our little cat is blushing!"

"We told you dear, you'll be the be the toast of the party!"

Oh how it starts to feel like a dream, seeing and smelling yourself in such an elegant way. You hardly care about Ryan and Robin attending you so overbearingly now, and you even start to wonder if you should have just let them do everything they had wanted to fully wash, pretty and pamper you. Who are these people, what's going on, what is this place, these things which had worried you before seem so unimportant now, how little you care as they lead you out by the hands. Your heart aflutter each time you catch a glimpse of your reflection in the windows or mirrors of the corridors, being led from the bedroom back to the main entrance. Even getting applause from the other fancy dressed mask-wearing folks in the entry hall, as you make your way down the stairs. Feeling like you're walking on clouds all the way.

And from there, on through the foyer to the dining hall apparently, wondering where your dream will take you next...

Swept up in the glamor and elegance of it all, you find yourself led along by Ryan and Robin to the dining hall, through doors opened by similar masked attendants who also escort the three of you to seating. Not that you know anything of high society or stately homes, but you don't get the impression of an actual dining room. Rather more a grandly decorated and spacious hall with large windows, that you would have guessed to be something like a ballroom. And you suppose it may serve that function as well but for tonight there's various smaller dining tables situated about the place to accommodate the various guests.

Although there's not a huge number of people, you're still quite self-conscious about all the looks and attention you're receiving as a new face, yet you're just as thrilled for it when you know you've been dressed and given the look to impress. Though, a bit creepy when everyone around also has various masks on but then you needn't feel out of place when you have one yourself.

"What will we have for dinner then dear? I know you'll choose the best for us!"

"Well, where's the... can I get a menu?"

"No menu dear! Whatever you could want, they have."

A bit of a daunting task then, and certainly where you're out of your element compared to what these fancy folks are used to. After wracking your brain in hesitation, you opt to simply ask for whatever the neighboring tables are having. The sorts of high class food that normal folks could go their entire lives without tasting, and here it's all you can eat if you care to. Well it may all be a bit too fancy for you to really appreciate, but you certainly can stuff yourself considering how hungry you are after such a long and exhaustive day. Really though the biggest appeal is the wine, glass after glass and as much as you please. You try to keep moderate about it, but Ryan and Robin both drinking along with you, may cause you to get a little carried away.

Not that you have to worry too much about appearances, the rabbit-masked pair always seem to be able to correct or account for any etiquette mistakes you might make in your unfamiliarity with how things are here. As well as that there's some classy entertainment even to hold people's attention otherwise, if they weren't already occupied with conversation over dinner at their respective tables. A musician at a piano playing light jazz, with a singer relating humorous anecdotes between song numbers.

As many feigned kisses to the cheeks and actual kisses to the hand as you receive from total strangers, you're glad to have Ryan and Robin to help you through it all. Already they seem aware of your... ahem, social shortfalls, so handle most everything for you. Between introductions and banter, to simply wiping your face of food or wine. You feel like a pet on display or something, being shown off for everyone to fawn over, but admittedly you enjoy being the center of attention for once. At least all the nice things being said such a warm welcome, leaves you feeling quite pleasant.

Or maybe that's just the wine getting to you, but either way, despite being a little embarrassed with it all it's still a good feeling and an unfamiliar one at that.

"Oh darling, you are joining us in the theater after?"

"You simply must! Miss...?"

"Oh, uhh..."

That's right, thus far you'd gone along with the borrowed identity of Leonard Kovacs, the man you stole the members card from. Not literally him, but assumedly someone in his family. Now that you're in the club though, uncertain yet if you could quality as a "member" yourself, you still have the chance to present yourself however you wish. Certainly it might be a wise consideration to at least distance yourself from Kovacs, considering you robbed and viciously assaulted him in order to be able to enter this place to begin with.

As well as that, Ryan and Robin have mentioned you getting your own card with membership, so they need to know how to identify you... it seems you got in here with Kovacs's card, but the staff are aware of your deception, yet seemingly don't mind?

As much as you'd love to keep stuffing your face and drinking all they have to offer, after awhile you feel overwhelmed by all the fawning and attention over you, and the forced social interaction. It's a nice place and all and you love feeling like a part of it, but dealing with so many people is exhaustive for you. Thankfully your rabbit-masked hosts become aware of this, and deftly manage to keep people from bothering you further. At least until the musicians take a bow to applause, and folks conclude the fancy dinner to head elsewhere in the estate.

"Oh you're going to love this Cat!"

"It's still early in the year but you picked a good night to attend!"

Although you wanted to keep eating and drinking, you're led along after everyone else instead. Feeling a bit disoriented and nauseous from the seemingly labyrinthine layout of the estate... although that might just be from drinking too much. Thankfully like everything else, Ryan and Robin take good care of you and escort you along with ease. A succession of regal rooms between fancy corridors until eventually you find yourself in a classy stage theater. Not to the scale of an opera house but still pretty large, all things considered, and with banners depicting unfamiliar iconography hanging about the place. The various guests from the dining hall and others from assumedly elsewhere in the estate mill about and socialize, but Ryan and Robin hurry you along to try and get seating front row and center.

It's a good thing you're wearing a mask then since between the comfy seating, dim lighting, the background noise and of course the exhaustion from the day, you end up dozing off after several failed attempts to keep your head upright. You assume it wasn't for too long though (and a good thing, else your body may have started softening and losing definition), as you jolt awake at Robin gently stirring you, finding yourself slumped against Ryan's shoulder and drooling on his sleeve some. Brushing off your apologies though, the pair of them direct your attention forward now as the lighting of the theater goes dark, leaving only the stage lighting. It seems everyone has already taken their seats for the start of the... show? As the curtains draw on what looks like some Greek or Roman architecture and environmental backdrop, to an otherwise empty stage apart from a center podium.

Visible standing to the sides however are numerous uniformly plain-masked and dark-robed individuals, one of whom makes his way to the podium.

"A warm welcome to all on this first week of Spring, the annual commencement of our sacred purpose, to which this gathering of kindred minds and spirits will beat witness."

All this fancy and flowery speech is impressive, albeit a little boring for you in your tipsy state. As well as that, you're still not entirely sure what this whole place is about. But you can at least try and keep your head up, your eyes open for whatever play-thing they want to put on. Fortunately the speech itself is not that long, something about celebrating the purpose of this establishment, looking forward to the year ahead, and some initiation to start things off. The finishing applause from the audience jolts you fully awake from any risk of dozing off again. What follows is much more interesting to you, if a bit weird and creepy, as the rest of the robed figures make a procession onto the stage.

Some sort of strange commencement ceremony, the deeper meanings of which are entirely lost upon you. Probably largely in part to their chanting of some foreign language, possibly Latin even? Definitely weird and creepy seeing them all move in practiced coordination and patterns, in time with whatever they're chanting on about, preparing the stage both symbolically and physically for some sort of initiation process. Which becomes apparent when a pair of the robed figures whom seemed to be the focus of the ritual, are summarily disrobed entirely, two impressively fit young men standing naked before all.

"Whoah... wh-what kind of party is this?"

"It's the chance to prove themselves Cat."

"Usually they stagger the genders but on same-nights, expect the guys first."

Covering your eyes in an embarrassed panic... though not completely covered, you glance about for the reactions of anyone else at this scandalous display. By the looks of things though, this seems completely normal or accepted to everyone in attendance, Ryan and Robin included. If this sort of thing is normal then, well you can try not to stick out like a loser, and do your best to play along. As a semicircle of the other robed figures is formed behind the pair of initiates, being symbolically anointed for whatever ceremony is to follow, with oil or body paint or whatever you assume it to be.

"Here we stand, dear members, guests, and initiates, at the threshold of ascension. Come to the end of this journey, may these men be blessed with clarity, courage, and inheritance." the lead speaker brings things to a head, in time with some rather eerie music sounding in from who knows where. "Incipe!"

An unseen bell sounds, and the two men immediately rush one another with a ferocity that causes you to jump in your seat. Clutching the hands of Ryan and Robin in surprise over the fight that commences. By their reactions and that of others though, again this seems normal and so you try to settle into things and just go along with it.

While the nudity seemed mundanely accepted though, there's a growing current of excitement amongst the audience you notice. People are too polite or formal to stand up and start cheering or anything like that, but there's definitely wide and eager eyes around you as folks are sitting forward on the edge of their seats, and murmuring amongst themselves. Even your pair of hosts chat back and forth past you, about their expectations for who will win and how they apparently are familiar with the two men?

And for what it's worth, they definitely put on an impressive physical display. As much as you can try to look past their nakedness, the two men are clearly in peak physical form but they also appear to know how to fight, whatever martial arts it is that they're employing. Like watching a more risque MMA match on a stage rather than in a fighting ring. Between the engaging fight and the eagerness of the audience, you eventually find yourself swept up in the excitement as well, even if you start to notice two concerning things the longer the fight goes. Firstly that... well you're not familiar with men or fighters in this physical capacity, but they seem to be managing immense physical feats. When their bodies and blows connect you can feel the echoing force, and at a certain point one of the man slams into the other so hard that the floor of the stage smashes open, to everyone's audible delight. The second matter, is that it seems they're not holding anything back? In as much as two men, or two people in general wouldn't hold back anyway, but the brutality of their combat is shocking to you. More and more the slight of blood on their bodies and across the stage is distressing to you, until eventually their savage duel reaches a conclusion, and one man is left triumphant over the other yet even the victor is quite brutally beaten and maimed.

"-is... is no one going to st-stop it?!"

"Shhh, it's all part of the initiation!"

"It's alright Cat, don't worry!"

The one man kneeling over the other, he seems to be waiting for something that you're unaware of until you glance about the audience to see if anyone else is concerned as you are. Instead you see the same eager faces, with their hands raised to show either approval or disapproval of... something. Whichever side has the majority you can't tell but you assume the ones running the show know, because some tacit approval is given before the victor clenches his bloody fists with a yell and pounds into the chest of the defeated.

What seemed like an unnecessary blow at first, like kicking a man when he's down, turns horrifying as repeated strikes make wet cracking sounds and the man against the stage starts choking up blood. The wooden floor cracking beneath him, it doesn't take many more before his chest is a gory mess of pulverized flesh and bone, and it's when the victor rips his way into the defeated man with his bare hands that you can't play along any longer and jump up in alarm with a scream of horror.

Or, you try to. Halfway through your terrified display, Ryan catches and forces you back down to your seat in his arms, while Robin covers your mouth to keep you from screaming further.

"No Cat, don't make a scene!"

"You're fine, you're fine with us."

The sound of applause from the audience around you, drives you to peer through Ryan's arms and catch a glimpse of the victor on stage pulling free the defeated man's heart and standing to present it before all. What he does with it after that, you've no idea for you can't bear to watch any longer. Hysterically sobbing into Ryan's chest (under the noise of the approving audience) for fear of what you should or shouldn't do, your instincts screaming for you to stretch your body free and escape from this place by any means possible. It's when you notice blood nearing your feet, having run over the edge of the stage from the dead man, that you notice your own body. Spattered across your skin and surely on your black dress even if it isn't visible, blood from when the victor's brutal pounding the defeated into a pulp and scattering gore about the area.

The fear turning to revulsion, as you feel the urge to puke. Wanting desperately to leave this nightmare. Wishing you'd gone home, to your own room tonight instead.

Keeping your eyes closed, breathing deeply, trying your best not to puke. It's not an easy feat however as the bloody spectacle keeps playing out in your mind. Though you're not unfamiliar with violence by now, this is the first time you've seen someone killed and especially in such a visceral way. First time you've seen something real, and it hits you hard. One thing to see someone hit by a car or shot with a gun, and quite another thing to see a man beaten into a gory pulp and his heart ripped from his chest.

Thankfully you have Ryan and Robin to rely on for support, even though it's concerning that none of this bothers them.

"You're alright Cat? If you need to leave, we can take you."

"...n-no, I'll try and stay."

"That's a good girl."

As much as you would like to run away screaming, you can take a hint from your two hosts to not cause a disturbance and draw attention to yourself. And while you don't have to sit here and enjoy it then, engrossed like the rest of the audience in the brutality on stage, you could at least try to gain some... tolerance for it. You'd never want to be okay with what is happening but it may do you well to be able to sit through something like this without losing your composure, or screaming and puking as you would have.

After all, if you are going to continue down this path of supervillainy then you ought to get used to things like this. Or at least the possibility of them. You don't intend on killing anyone yourself... you hope you don't, or don't have to. But better to adjust to the sight of such things now, than in the moment and suffer the distress at a crucial time.

At least, that's what you try to tell yourself, as another distraction method from what is happening.

You try to avoid watching much more, but from what you can tell the winning man receives the accolades of his victory over the other. A congratulatory and inducting speech is given by the lead man at the podium (moved to one side for better audience view of the fight) during which time the stage is cleaned and given some makeshift repairs where need be. A final short ritual of praise and submission by the other robed figures up on stage, towards the naked and bloody man is performed, where a hot iron is brought forth to brand him with some symbol on his back... the sickening smell of burning flesh... after which he is then led away to the darkness beyond the stage.

And then, just like that, after a eulogy for the dead man the stage is once again prepared for the ritual ceremony anew. Much of the same as before but this time it's two young women, similarly disrobed before all and anointed for brutal combat. And same as before these women are very physically impressive, clearly trained in martial arts, and capable of staggering bodily feats of might. Beating each other to a pulp and damaging the stage in the process, until a victor arises from the fight and again to the approval of the crowd, pulverizing her defeated opponent to death and removing her heart.

And worst of all the screams and cries of pain through the whole fight and grotesque aftermath, same as with the first bout.

"So wasteful. Both of the losers could have made for fine inheritors."

"You know how it is sister, people always want a show for the commencement every year."

You're horrified by how accepting of it all your hosts are, while of course the audience enjoy the show. But after the unexpected and shocking first combat, and knowing the nature of these proceedings, you find it... a little easier to watch the second bout this time around. Hunched over a toilet in one of the fancy bathrooms, Robin holds your hair while Ryan stands by with water to offer. You were at least able to keep your stomach down for the remainder of the ceremony, which after the two bouts of combat was comparatively boring and procedural. Just the head speaker reiterating some ongoing efforts of this group, as well as news updates on apparently important things. Particularly, and what was the tipping point for your nausea, was a disturbing focus and importance placed on the efforts of a particular supervillain who robbed a bank earlier today. Thankfully that's near the conclusion of the ceremony so you can keep up appearances just long enough to be able to leave for the bathroom when everyone else of the audience are getting up from their seats.

"I hope I'm not intruding... is there a problem?"

"N-No, no! Poor girl, she just had too much to drink is all!"

Of course it wasn't really the food or drink that made you sick, even if it didn't help. But things become a lot more frightening when the head of the ceremony comes to join the three of you in the bathroom, with attendants of his own. It seems that despite everything which transpired through the ceremony, your behavior was noticed.

You try not to scream when the man approaches to lean down and rest his hand on your shoulder.

"Don't worry Miss Scavok, the twins will take care of you... I was also hoping to find you, and present you with your with your updated card."

He snaps for one of his attendants who brings forward a similar black and silver card for the members club, only this one belongs to you now and is keyed to your information. In exchange you are prompted to offer the stolen card in return, which Ryan handles... why does he have your wallet?

"...what about... the old card? You know it was only... I'm supposed to give it back... to him?"

"...it isn't our concern of how you came to be in possession of Mister Kovacs's card, only that he lost it to you. For which he will be dealt with, nothing you need to worry about. We value careful members over careless ones here, so enjoy yourself tonight and make yourself at home."

With that, he reaches to flush the toilet for you, before giving your shoulder a squeeze and straightening up again to take his leave. Though they don't comment on it, you notice Ryan and Robin visibly ease up and become more comfortable once he's gone. Robin even hugs you with glee after Ryan helps you to feet again.

"Look at this Cat! Your own card now! Oh you simply must stay!"

"We could at least head to the gallery and congratulate the victors. Unless you'd rather retire for the evening, Cat?"

After Robin dabs at your mouth with a washcloth, the pair of them make an effort to fix up your appearance again so that you're looking no worse for the wear after all that happened. Apparently by the sound of things, after the ceremony the victors are presented in the gallery for the audience to interact with and celebrate over, which the twins would have you attend. But first and foremost they remain aware and accommodating of your own desires.

By the sound of things, that it was an intriguing thing to happen, but it was unacceptable that they didn't know about the superhuman responsible and the scrutiny of the organization would be turned on this matter.

You would assume that's a negative thing given what you've seen of this group, and you wouldn't rule anything out since everything these people say seems to have secret double meanings. But at face value it's not like they expressed any need to eliminate the perpetrator, just to learn about them and hope that they "follow the order of things".

Both composition and control could help with that yes. With the elasticity of your body, you can imagine composition along the lines of viscosity, so is your flesh more like solid tough rubber, clay, gooey taffy, or even like syrup, or something in between or beyond even.

So right now for example if you pinched your arm, when you let go it will form back like a normal person, but depending on your composition, you could pinch it and it will stay pinched in that shape even if you let go.

Your preference would be to get far away from this place after what you've seen, however for your own sake and at the advising of the twins, you've committed to keeping up appearances and now drawing suspicion to yourself. Because of what you've seen already, you can at least try to grin and bear your way through the evening here until such a time as you can appropriately take your leave.

And for what it's worth, you can try to get a better idea of what this disturbing place is all about as well as get a look at those responsible for murder.

When you're feeling a little better and had your appearance fixed up, the twins lead you back through the estate to an expansive gallery where a congratulatory event is being held for the two new victorious initiates. Still naked and covered in blood and bleeding themselves, but standing on display it appears as if they were champion racehorses or something, for all the members and guests to marvel over and congratulate. That's an uncomfortable sight enough, seeing all these fancy dressed and masked people milling about these two brutal murderers, the young man and woman who won their respective fights.

But the dead bodies of their defeated opponents are also on display at the other end of the gallery, which to you is disturbing enough to upset you, and only being able to hold on tightly to the twins for support can you manage to try and keep your composure. It's just fortunate that they can do the socializing and speaking for you, as they're aware of your discomfort.

"We just wanted to say how sorry we are for your loss... isn't that right, Cat?"

"...mmmright... s-sorry..."

"Still, he made a valiant effort and deserves the honors for his impressive display."

"Oh thank you for your concern... I did beg him not to be so eager for a commencement initiation, but we are proud of him nonetheless."

The twins have you pay respects to the families of the defeated first, since it seems all of the initiates involved were children of members. Two pairs of parents who are naturally upset over the death of their son and daughter, yet not as much as you'd call grieving... they're taking it disturbingly well and along with their upset, they are just as proud of the performance of their children and the opportunity at a commencement initiation, despite their horrible deaths.

Although condolences are exchanged between the twins (as well as various other members who offer sympathy) and the families of the defeated, you're not able to glean much of the purpose or meaning for what's going on. Not when you're trying your hardest not to scream or panic, and not seem suspicious in your attempt to avoid looking at the dead bodies as much as you can.

"Such a show! Truly worthy of an Inheritor!"

"We mean no disrespect, our guest simply wanted to congratulate you! What do you say, Cat?"

"G-Good show! I-I mean... congratulations, yeah..."

By contrast, paying respects to the victors is more difficult. Both in just approaching them through the small crowd of members fussing over them, but also some uncomfortable social exchange that takes place between the victors and the twins. Apparently if it weren't for you, they wouldn't have tried approaching? Though it's easier for you to do this than with the defeated dead, you still have a difficult time of it when brought face to face with a naked man and woman of such striking physical stature, having just murdered two people and still covered in blood. You make an effort to give some praise without seeming suspicious for trying to avoid staring at them too much, which is acknowledged since they afford you more respect than the twins. Not unlike the twins in regards to you however, it seems most of the interactions between people and the victors is handled by their respective family... given how on edge the young man and woman are, maybe it's just because of their brutal fights, but it wouldn't surprise you if they were on drugs or something.

In any case things seem straightforward enough in the followup to the ceremony here. Apart from the disturbing display of violence and death between the bloody victors and the bodies of the dead, everyone else just carries on like this is the most normal thing in the world, and cheerily socialize in what would be a pleasant atmosphere otherwise. After paying respects to both sides of the conflict, you're glad the twins make some distance between you and others, as they all rub elbows and celebrate another "successful" commencement ceremony.

You would be inclined to eavesdrop on what's being discussed and gossiped, but in trying to calm your nerves and catch your breath after coming face to face with the losers and victors of the ceremony, you find your attention wandering more to the gallery itself rather than the celebration.

It's a rather strange experience at first, where you see the portraits of people you think you recognize but can't seem to place. The more you dwell on it though and wrack your brain, eventually it comes to you. Much longer than it should have, but they were the last people you expected to ever see in a place like this, so it didn't occur to you at first. The portraits, statue busts, and other artistic representations of various super figures, both good and bad. Quite famous and classic heroes and villains from back in the day, many decades past. Famous or not though, most people wouldn't just recognize them at a glance or off the top of their head, the only reason you're able to remember them is because of your longtime obsession with all things superhero and villain.

It makes things start feeling a little surreal, now to contrast against the bloody ceremony of this group, whatever they are.

"The winners! Now that they're Inheritors they don't have sexual restrictions. We could get you the night with them if you like, as a guest."

The proposition of the twins catches you completely off guard, and you turn red at the idea of it. Struggling to understand what they try to explain, it seems like now that the young man and woman have prevailed through the ceremony, they gain various rights and privileges as "Inheritors" now. One of those things as part of the celebration for their victory, among the rewards they get is to appreciate some of the debauchery that club members enjoy. Thus why the pair are on display now, not just for congratulations but for interest in matchmaking after their violently appealing physical display. Perhaps the Greco-Roman aesthetics of things weren't just for show, as these would-be gladiators get showered with all manner of fruits of victory.

I have the feeling that if we're going to pursue this career, we'll have to up our Liveleak tolerance and know the work rules properly too. It's impressive that we got to rob a festival, beat the shit out of Kovacs these people are definitely going to make him disappear for losing his card to us, aren't they?, and then steal from the bank. But we've been skating by dumb luck and surprise rather than skill, and it will only go so far when people learn of and anticipate the antics of Stretch Goals. Being a supervillain implies doing fucked up and crazy shit eventually, better to acclimate now than choke during a high speed chase or an extremely violent altercation.

While in this place you feel the best idea is to follow the advice of the twins when they give it, hence going along with what you have so far. What little you know versus this life they live, they last thing you want to do is stand out or slip up and draw attention to yourself. Finally though after your first-time showing at dinner, and attendance of both the ceremony and gallery viewing, there doesn't seem to be any further decorum you have to observe.

As much as you can tell, when overtime you see the various other members and guests filtering out from the gallery to elsewhere in the estate. From what you can glimpse and what you hear, it's more or less free reign for the rest of the night for folks to enjoy themselves however they please and by what the twins tell you, this place caters to all possible tastes. For some members this is just a place socialize and unwind, alongside of course the messed up rituals and decorum of the cult society, but for others this is a place to seek delights and thrills beyond the notice of outside society.

And a part of you at least considers that, given how much you enjoyed dinner at least. You wonder what kind of fun or trouble you could get up to in a place like this, if only to take your mind off the brutal displays you witnessed thus far. Couldn't hurt to try something once...

...mostly though, you want to get away from this nightmare. A moment's peace and quiet from the barrage of attention and disturbing sights. And the chance to figure out what this whole place is really about.

"Oh? You want to go back to your room? I'm sure this was a lot for you to take in, but you did so well."

"Besides, we don't need any of all that. We can have just as much fun in your room!"

Expressing your desires and not feeling the best either, you get a sympathetic hug from the pair of them before being led back through the estate to your room. Along the way, passing through other rooms where you get glimpses of all sorts of questionable things. One room where some members are merely enjoying drinks and chatting over a board game, another room where several members are in varying states of undress and sexual congress to your embarrassment, while along a corridor you can see through the windows to the pool outside where music is playing and members are having all manner of good times when there's hard drugs available as well.

Finally though, you're brought to your room again and can start to breathe easy. Still anxious about this whole place but at least you have some privacy again. In the bathroom that is, where you get away from the twins who wait in your bedroom.

"...I messed up... I'm in over my head here..."

While you try and slow your breathing and steady your heart, getting carried away examining yourself in the mirror and frantically trying to wash away any of the remaining blood on your body from the theater death matches.

When eventually you're ready to leave the bathroom, of course the twins are there eager and waiting. Looking to accommodate whatever your desires may be, as much as you could have sated them elsewhere in the house like the other members. Your desire however is to sit and talk with them, but even that can't be simple enough, not with the two of them. They drag you onto the bed to lie between them, feeling a little fluttery to be sandwiched between such attractive people and the center of their fawning attention. Not to mention your exhaustion from the day and your injuries, which is really starting to catch up with you now, given the chance to lay down and relax.

All manner of praise to your presentation and performance tonight, as well as concern about your injuries. You try to remain focused though, and seek out the real reason for why you came here with them.

"What do we do here? We enjoy ourselves of course, and you should too Cat."

"N-No I meant... what is this whole place about, this uhh... group? What's going on with... everything I saw?"

"Well, let's ask you this... what do you know?"

Maybe it isn't wise to lower your guard with anyone in this place, but you take the risk in trusting the twins at least, for how much they've taken care of you. As well as that it's hard not to feel... safer at least, with them when they're caring for you as such. Stroking your hair, kissing at the injuries on your arms, offering to fetch for some treatment and massage you better. Though maybe that's all on purpose to get you to lower your guard, but you have to give something to get something.

After admitting how little, nothing really, that you know then you can start getting a basic explanation.

"Well it was after the second World War, is when superhumans started showing up-"

"Before that and longer, but it was different before. The way things are now, started back then... we think, at least."

Given your condition it's not the easiest to make sense of things, but from what you can gather, this secret society is fairly old. When superhumans emerged in the world however it changed to the cult you've witnessed tonight, with utmost secrecy and strange rituals and hidden meanings. Specifically it seems that after the war a number of... questionable (and even foreign by the sound of things) people believed that superhumans were the ideal "next step of evolution" or something like that, an actual master race. So there was an effort to gain the cooperation or at least the genetics of superhumans, most obviously actual superheroes and villains, who made themselves known to the world rather than some impossible effort to locate superhumans who didn't express themselves.

"So those paintings I saw were... members?"

"More like sires, but sometimes members on occasion."

"Those were your American heroes however, we two are from Europe with our own superhuman ancestors."

So in some way or other, over the decades when rarely possible, this organization internationally have sought the involvement of heroes or villains. And made the most of any... contributions made by such superhuman individuals. A doctrine of eugenics married to the ritualism and worship of a cult, behind the clandestine nature of a secret society. Hence the title and importance of their "Inheritors" from superhuman sires. Your obvious question then, is if the organization is responsible for creating any super figures, but it seems rather that for the most part they closely guard their practices and any such individuals are merely hidden within the cult.

Curiously however, it seems that over the decades there was less interest in actual superpowers, but rather in the naturally heightened traits of superhumans. Better strength, better intelligence, better appearance, and more. Not always, but often enough. It seems rather than trying to foster superpowers (although those do hold a special reverence here), rather the organization is interested in humans that are plainly superior by simply their natural physiology. This would explain the physicality, intellect, and attractiveness of Inheritor candidates you've seen, the twins as well, and why they rely on such brutal and ritualistic methods for selection. Any "inferior" individuals are symbolically and literally weeded out, it would seem.

Although this is all a rather horrific and shocking unknown-history lesson to you, the twins maintain a positive outlook about the whole thing. For what it's worth, and at least as much as they tell you, the organization isn't interested in evil pursuits like world domination or extermination of "lesser" humans. They simply seek the unattainable goal of human perfection like "gods of old", and to quietly enforce the outside world along it's natural trajectory. And seem well-capable of it given their power and resources on an international scale... though you glean whispers of possible other groups or individuals, who aren't so benign in their methods and goals.

As disturbingly enlightening as this all is however, it's about the extent of what you can learn, as exhaustion starts to take you. The comfort of the bed and the twins with you, as well as their carrying on talking beside you, serve as swaddling for your tired body and stressed mind. Struggling to keep your eyes open, a voice inside you screaming not to fall asleep in a place like this but not doing much against the weight of everything upon you...

As much as you probably should try to get home, you're barely conscious to even make the effort. It may be taking a big risk, but with little other choice you decide to trust the twins at least even if you don't trust this place. To let them know you'll be spending the night.

"Alright sleepy Cat, let's get you to bed then."

"Come on, sit up. You can't be sleeping in that dress."

The twins move to action, helping you through your drowsiness to get undressed, and along to the bathroom at least to wash your mouth out after losing your stomach earlier. With that though, you slump back in the fancy bed and fall asleep before they can even get you some water to drink. Not noticing either as they switch to blindfolds again, so they can take your mask off for you not to have to sleep with it on.

What strange dreams you have, a distorted blur of a masked pasty inside a bank vault, under a rain of blood. Or it seemed like a masked party, as you try to peer through the haze and see the people are actually just animals in clothes.

You fearfully try to leave, though you stand out for the effort and so the animals set upon you with teeth and claws. Trying to flee from them feels like treading through syrup, and only because of the presence of the vault bars can you squeeze your way through to freedom and leave them all behind.

Freedom outside the vault, and from the blurry haze as everything appears so much clearer now. Standing in a park? On a sunny day. Seeing a mother and her young daughter at a water fountain, after the little girl tired herself out on the playset. Reaching to be picked up for help to drink from the fountain, and her mother who screams in horror and practically throws the girl away in a panic, when the act of picking her up causing her small body to elongate.

You jolt awake in a crying panic, fearful in confusion at where you are. It takes the twins either side of you in bed, to ease you to lay back again and eventually start to calm down as you recall last night's events through a headache. A gentle hand to wipe away your tears, a pleasant kiss to the cheek, you at least feel some comfort in knowing that you're in good hands.

Or at least to say, you didn't wake up gagged in a basement, or missing your kidneys or something.

"Don't cry Cat, you're here with us."

"We were wondering when you'd wake up, you must have been exhausted from yesterday!"

As before they sandwich you between them for a sympathetic snuggle, though it's more embarrassing now that you're sober and the three of you down to your underwear. Also some worry that if they act too close or physical with you, they'll squish or stretch your body in a way beyond human norms, the same worry that has always kept you from being close with anyone before. Fortunately despite their musculature the twins remain ever so gentle with you, that you mind their attention lesser the longer it lasts.

Now that you are awake though, they have a pair of silk pajamas for you if you like as well as your cat mask to wear again so that they can lose the blindfolds, and Robin offers to fetch you all a late breakfast. Leaving you snug in Ryan's big strong arms and red as a tomato. Trying to think of... something else than what you're imagining, there was something nudging at the back of your mind that you hadn't the chance to ask about last night.

"Superhuman members? Oh, not for some decades I believe, not here at least."

"B-But when there were... did they get any ummm... sp-special treatment?"

"They sit on top of the mountain. Whatever they desire, whatever they need, it was done. That's the way it should be."

Here you can glean the nature of the cult again, and their practically religious reverence for superhumans. For the most part it is just a secret society for members to enjoy themselves, but for their greater and more shadowy goals, nothing else is a higher priority. It makes you wonder then, if some of those superhuman men and women you saw portraits of, got to be as famous as they were because of support from this organization. Or if the people here were merely drawn to the success of those famous superheroes and villains.

Not that you get much chance to ponder it, as Robin eventually returns with a fancy little trolley laden with trays of various breakfast foods, and drinks to accompany. The smell alone drives your hunger to dominate your thoughts, as Ryan helps you to sit up in bed where Robin serves whatever you desire. The three of you to enjoy yourselves over a scrumptious breakfast, before getting up and ready for the day.

And indeed, what you might get up to here, as the twins chat at length about to you. Usually the only people to spend the night here are ones who got too carried away partying, and promptly leave in the morning. That leads to the estate being comparatively sleepy during the days compared to the nights, and thus being the center of attention of the staff, with all the amenities of the estate fully at your disposal.

It's quite a conflict within you, between wanting to escape this nightmarish place, and delving deeper out of morbid curiosity as to what else you might find. And not least of all, to appreciate and enjoy the various comforts and luxuries this place has to offer. Ritual murder and selective breeding? No thanks, but you can turn a blind eye to that for such wonderful food and mention of a spa. You want to imagine you can at least.

For what it's worth though, you probably wouldn't be able to enjoy the facilities here to their fullest anyway. Not without revealing the superhuman truth about yourself. The moment a masseuse at the spa gets their hands on you, or you try to improve your physicality at the gym, it's going to become plainly obvious to anyone that your body is not normal. Although you aren't ruling that option out, in case you should choose to benefit off what this organization can do for you, you'd at least want to spend some time to better think on it and decide.

Plus, it's not like you can't come back later... right? As distressing as everything here was for you, much of it remains fascinating.

Over breakfast with the twins, you can discuss some remaining concerns you had. Namely if you are even able to return to this place after leaving, which it sounds like you're welcome to come back whenever you want, and what the responsibilities of members are here. As hosts though the twins can't offer you a full explanation but just from the basic idea they give you, it doesn't sound too bad or demanding. There's some big collective hedge fund or more, that everyone pays into (varying amounts by individual) which handles the funds and supplies the organization with anything it could need, from just the luxury accommodations here all the way up to political favors and more. Because secrecy, cooperation and reliability are the most valued things here though, even someone penniless could be a member if they entered that circle of trust.

It takes much effort and determination for your part to decline the fawning and attention from the twins, to pressure and tempt you into staying with them. All sorts of wonderful things they promise that would make your life oh so pleasant hereafter. But at the end of it all, they don't try and stop you or force you to stay, and merely inform the other staff of your desired departure as is custom. The pair of them lead you outside then, for a teary goodbye on their behalf. Hugs and kisses from them both, and hopeful wishes that you'll return soon.

And after that, they hand you your stolen money and the malfunctioned jetpack (moved into fancy carrying cases, assumedly by the staff) and pat you along your way. Waving and calling goodbye from the front steps as you trek across the gravel drive, led by a valet to your car again. Stowing all your belongings in the trunk again, and several minutes sitting behind the wheel simply trying to process everything that transpired at this strange place... wondering if it all wasn't just some strange dream, before starting the car up.

Driving slowly the long gravel way across the grounds and back to the entrance, back to the real world beyond the gates.

With your phone to rely on again, you're able to navigate your way from the member's club grounds back home, to Southside Malton. By having your phone on again to navigate though, you can't help notice all that has transpired since you silenced it. Countless calls, messages, and texts from dad, but also your friends as well... it seems he got in contact with them too, trying to see if you'd gone with them as to why you wouldn't be answering him.

"Oh damn, now Kelly and Chris might suspect something... dad would never tell them anything, but..."

When eventually you do make it back home or at least back to your neighborhood, it's around midday. You hesitate from actually driving up to your house though, going up the driveway to park, instead idling from a distance away and watching. Wondering what you should do, and how. Knowing, fearing what to expect and nervous to act.

You're not going to just sit out here waiting forever, so in the end you decide to just keep doing what you've been doing for months now; continue lying shamelessly to your own father! Sure you might feel bad about it, but you know it's for the best and for both your sakes. Although there was some consideration about coming clean to him, given the nature of how things have so radically changed with your situation. But you'd rather not get into that, at least not now when there's already so much on your plate, and you're so stressed and tired.

So after working out some convoluted excuse in your head about why you've been off the radar for so long, you finally take a deep breath and drive the short distance remaining to your house. Pulling up the driveway to park, and remembering at the last moment to take off the cat mask you still had on before getting out of the car.

"-oh, h-hey dad..."

Maybe you should have expected it, but you're still surprised to see your father already standing outside the side entrance from the driveway. He looks worse for the wear, disheveled and exhausted so if he probably stayed up all night waiting for you. It's no wonder then why he noticed you so quickly when coming up the driveway. Even from here the look in his eyes, anger and concern and... something else, makes you worried and second guessing if you should have come home at all.

Not like you can just get back in the car and drive off though, so nervously you move around the back of the car to approach the house, startled when he meets you halfway.

"-d-dad?!"

"...you're alright... my little girl, thank God you're alright..."

He hugs you so hard that he picks you up off the ground and even manages to hurt you, from your injuries sustained yesterday, despite your elastic body. You don't get the chance to protest because the moment he notices you wincing from it, he eases up on you, though not so much where you're not still held in the air. You feel awkward for it at first and wait or try to prompt for him to let you down, but eventually something in you gives and you slowly end up returning the hug as tears start welling in your eyes.

He hasn't held you like this since... since mom left, and all of a sudden you don't feel like some super cool supervillain poised to take over the world... you feel like a kid again.

Aware that you're hurt, when eventually he overcomes his relief to see you and starts breathing easy again, he practically carries you inside the house to your protest. Sitting you down in the living room to fetch the makeshift first-aid bag from atop the fridge, he kneels before you trying to check where you're outwardly injured and treat you however he can. Though your external injuries have had the chance at least to clot in the... not yet twenty-four hours since, he still fusses over you for them since he can't do much about your internal injuries and soreness.

"-oh I just got hurt because the car was still moving when I got out at a place, I fell over and had to rush to catch it before it rolled off into the road. Still getting used to driving, you know." you try and wave off your injuries as mundane and nothing to be concerned about, "But that's why I was gone all yesterday and last night, I was helping a co-worker. You don't know Millie, but her cousin went missing after getting out of rehab. Her family was worried he relapsed, but it turns out he went to stay with his ex-girlfriend and only bothered to tell his grandparents."

Yeah, that's a pretty good excuse! Convoluted but not in a bad way you think. It's a good thing you bothered to check your phone first before coming here, or else you'd have defaulted to using your friend Kelly for the excuse.

"Of course the whole thing could have gone easier if her family had a way of contacting his girlfriend- well, ex-girlfriend, but after yesterday who knows? The important thing is-"

You shut up, the moment he speaks your full name while rubbing at your knees with disinfectant, to get away some asphalt ground into your skin you hadn't noticed. You were just droning on with your excuse since you thought he was focused on you, well it turns out he was, but focused on listening to what you were saying.

He never uses your full name unless it's something important. He sets down the damp cloth to turn on the TV, already on the channel you assume he'd been watching. Sure enough it doesn't take but a minute on the news, before there's reporting and footage of your crime at the bank. Something you try to contain your triumphant glee over.

"I know my own daughter when I see her, even if you try and disguise yourself."

Oh damn. He speaks with such disappointment, but rather as if, because you thought he wouldn't notice you.

Oh shit. He looks up at you not in anger, but desperation.

"Why did you do it?"

Oh fuck. He takes your hand in both of his. You try not to cry, but when you see him tearing up you can't help it. You preferred it when he was just hugging you, but of course he senses you feel that way, as he moves to do so. Holding you in his arms on the couch together, while the news continues on about the new supervillain in town.

As cool and tough as you may fancy yourself to be, it's only natural that your guard would be down around your own father. Finding it easy to cry into his shoulder as much as you may hate to do so, wanting to expect better of yourself. But then there's a lot of reason for it, beyond just getting found out and feeling guilty. All the trauma and stress and... fear, of the last twenty-four hours alone, who wouldn't be emotional after that?

Maybe that amazing and terrible supervillain Stretch Goals could deal with it all but for Carrie Cross, going up against a superhero and stumbling into a murderous secret society cult, it's all too much.

Given the time to settle down and process things, you're feeling better at least to talk. Even if it does take awhile your dad has all the time in the world for you, as the news continues on in the background for reporting all manner of details and speculation about the brazen bank robbery by a supervillain. This actually does a lot to help you deal with these complicated emotions you're tangling with, at least a clear indicator of your villainous success.

But of course dad's patience and acceptance carries you the rest of the way, as you sit together on the couch after he's cleaned and patched up your injuries as much as he can. His support, encouraging you to try and put to words these thoughts and feelings you hadn't yet known for certain, even to yourself.

"...I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you this dad, but... I am evil and I enjoy it. Don't try to stop me."

"You're a lot of things Carol, but you're not evil. You're smart and tough, beautiful and kind, but not evil."

You're a little annoyed to be shot down so simply. It's always nice to hear how highly your dad thinks of you, but how often through your life has he always praised and complimented you? He always makes you feel better when you're with him, but when has that ever helped you the moment you step out the front door into the real world? It's like uplifting a mouse with fostering care, plenty of food and a comfortable cage, and then seeing how well that helps it after getting run over by a car the moment it leaves the cage.

Though you are just speaking honestly, you have some regrets when you see how deeply your last comment visibly hurt your dad. Whatever things he imagined for your life to be and to have, great or otherwise, your idea that his giving life to you was for this outcome clearly tramples on his hope for you.

You can feel as much, when he takes your hand in his.

"If you are going to do... this, to live this life, why can't it be for good? With your abilities, why can't you be... I don't know, a superhero? Something like that? I know you can, I know you have it in you to be great! To help people, not hurt them."

"...help? Why would I ever help anyone? No one ever helped me."

Now it's your turn to be hurt, as you pull your hand away from his in upset. His touching on a topic that has always been... difficult for you, for your relationship with him. The difficulties in your life brought on by what you are, and fatherly support of you without ever actually helping you in any way it mattered. You know it's not his fault and you've never held it against him, because he has no way of actually helping you, being superhuman and something he could never understand or relate to.

You start tearing up again, trying not to cry as you make real by speaking, things you've always felt about yourself. He tries to comfort you in some way, tries to hug you again but you push him away this time.

"I-I'm sorry dad, but I have my limits too... I can't stand just living a life as some scared pushover working at Barstucks, ashamed of and hiding my power. Being a supervillain lets me be who I want to be. It gave me... it gives me the freedom to not feel like a freak of nature, ashamed of my own shadow. Stretch Goals is everything the meek and helpless Carrie Cross wishes she could be!"

You pat at your chest to emphasize the last part, though by the look of your dad you don't need to. Face buried in his hands, you come to realize that he's crying too, or trying his hardest not to. You've only ever seen him like this once before, back then. With a deep breath he wipes his eyes, nodding to the TV.

"I know you feel that way, that's why I was so scared. I watch the footage of you, and for the first time I see my daughter... confident. Brave. A young woman who isn't afraid of anything, least of all herself."

Over the years you've known him to shoulder hardship, from mom leaving and financial troubles of getting ripped off, to his own health problems and his worries about the world. Always weighed down and taking its toll on him, when he's not even forty years old. Now though he looks crushed in a way you've never seen before, and this time you feel like the one to want to hug him.

"...I'm sorry Carol. I tried to give you a good life, but I couldn't even give you a normal life. I only want the best for you, always... but is this really the way?" you notice he can't bring himself to look you in the eyes, perhaps out of his own shame now.

Honestly you expected the worst when coming home, dreading all since last night that you'd get shouted at and disciplined. You wouldn't wish for that, but maybe it would have been better. Easier for you to deal with, than this. Though, sitting here on the cough with your dad, trying to work through such a painful heart to heart... you don't regret it.

Well it's nice to know that despite such a shocking revelation to him about what you've been doing, and as significant a crime as robbing a bank, through it all you still have your dad's support and of course his love. Automatically you start wondering then what you could get away with or it there was a limit to what he would forgive... would he still hug you if you had blood on your hands? None of that is really important right now though, as the both of you are still trying to find some understanding through this together.

Of course you've had months, years to go over this in your mind and all the other ways you planned it out, so it all makes sense to you. For him trying to cope with it though, you can tell it's not easy for him and it didn't help to have learned it in such a harsh way. Although he supports you, it's obvious that he's disappointed in you for going down this path rather than perhaps that of a superhero, as a comparable example. Or anything really, that didn't involve crime.

You wipe your own eyes and muster some confidence to speak up for yourself and defend your choices, and for that you sense some pride in him at your conviction. At least he's not tearing up which in turn makes it easier for you, and you can be the one to give him a hug now without breaking down. The embrace he returns now is one of strength, rather than one of fear or worry when you first got home.

Are we sure letting the secret society handle our wealth is a good idea? I mean sure for a eugenics based murder cult their about the best you could really hope for as far as that basic premise goes but they are still a cult and generally letting them handle your money is one of the first major steps people take into trapping themselves into said society for the indefinite future since now the cult has full control over all their finances and theirs the implicit idea that if the person ever leaves they won't ever see that money again.

Of course we got literally superpowers so we could probably convince them to give us back the money anyway if we wanted to leave (although they would probably push back HARD against this) I'm just pointing out that if we do let the cult handle our funds then be prepared to stick with them for the long haul.

First thing's first, to dispose of the jetpack. That wretched thing which almost could have killed you. Under normal circumstances you might just throw it in the trash or even just leave it bundled up in the garage, but because of it's relation to a superhero you want to make sure it is properly disposed of. And for that, you'll need a trip to the nearest dump. You want to handle this matter personally, so you assure dad you'll only be gone a little while and leave him to start counting the money at least.

For your task then, it's only about a fifteen minute drive to the Badger Den, the fancy name for the municipal landfill and recycling center closest to where you live. A ten minute wait in line, and you're able to haul the damaged jetpack out to chuck in with the pile of various other scrap metal and discarded appliances to be crushed down together.

"Now what the heck is this thing?"

"Uhh... water heater? From Korea, that's why it's all advanced looking!"

Beyond confusion as to what the apparatus actually is, you don't get questioned much by the workers at the site. You even want to remain to watch and personally make sure that the jetpack gets crushed and melted down, but workers assure you it'll be taken care of and anyway the crushing only happens when a threshold of disposed metal accumulates so you may be waiting for for a couple hours. Better to handle your other pressing matters then, if you really needed to you could return before closing time to make double sure of the device's destruction but by this point you've done everything you can to see it gotten rid of.

"I bought lunch on the way home, I mean it's fast food but-"

"-two million! There's two million dollars here Carol, each of these stacks are a hundred grand alone. Oh and the... gold brick, from what I saw on the internet it's worth something like eight-hundred thousand."

Well it seems your dad managed to count the stolen money while you were gone, hitting you with the total when you walk in the door. Stunned in response, you drop what you're carrying and panic to have to clean up the spilled drinks. Dad meanwhile looks overwhelmed, sitting at the counter with his hands to his face. As tired as he is, this is all a bit much for him it seems, but the immensity of your villainous feat isn't lost upon him. Almost three million dollars in value stolen, and as far as you can tell... as of yet, gotten away with.

Having made clear the total amount, you do start to worry as he did that you can't just simply get away with stealing it, this isn't like robbing a gas station or anything. Though you did try to act and plan as carefully as you possibly could, if for example the FBI or someone sets about investigating this, then you can't help but be afraid of having slipped up somewhere. You know you'll be wracking your brain and losing sleep, trying to retrace every step and detail for any mistakes you could have made.

At the same time though, it was certainly obvious to anyone witness to your crime that the criminal in question was superhuman, in fact a self-proclaimed supervillain. And from what little you understand of the law in such matters, superhuman crimes are handled differently so that both complicates things but also abstracts them. In any case, while you might worry yourself sick over this, you won't let it control your life or change what you do.

Fortunately as for what to do about the money itself, you have some ideas and particularly, a fortuitous lifeline in the way of the secret society. You wonder if you should go as far as letting them manage it, but at the very least you could hand it over to them for safe-keeping; you know they're discreet enough for that, and already given the chance to steal your money they instead neatly packaged it for you to take when you left, rather than just the trash bag you had before. That can come in time though, for now at least you feel it might be wise to lay low for a few days. At least to fully recover from your injuries if not to assess whether there's heat on you for the crime.

Your first impulse is to return right back to the secret society, now that you've smoothing things over with dad. Both for the purpose of possibly giving them your money to manage or even launder, and for wanting to spend more time there. You're not sure yet if you want to let on that you're superhuman since that seems like it would be the deciding point of commitment, but just as an establishment it was a pretty nice place all things considered. Apart from the cutthroat nature, the murder and selective breeding, but yes apart from that it was nice!

The more your concerns about the money linger in your mind though, the more weight they start to burden you with. Eventually to thoughts even, that perhaps you should just throw it away to avoid getting caught with it? In the end though your dad can at least convince you against doing anything too drastic, but there's no helping the discomforting paranoia that persists. If you do have your misgivings about reaming here under suspicion though, then why not leave? Skip town for awhile till the heat (or the perceived heat) dies down, and you can return to normalcy.

Of course realistically speaking, given the amount of money you stole and from who, the heat will probably never die down in that regard. Especially if some long-running and many years-spanning investigation into the matter is launched, as is likely to happen. But at least you'll personally feel better about the matter, as much as you care to delude yourself!

As much as it'd be nice to travel someplace with your dad, really your reason for doing so is to have him along to deal with things for you that you're uncomfortable with, like interacting with strangers wherever you'll be and adjust to unfamiliar places. But he raises a good point that you're probably not going to be traveling around carrying millions of dollars and a gold brick with you, as well as that it might be suspicious to anyone who knew your family, if you both up and left town after the robbery.

So he's willing to stay and cover for you, some excuse about looking to out-of-state colleges, while finding a good place to hide the money. Or most of it, you'll be taking some with you for sure in case you should need any. He'll be able to find a place to stash the stolen wealth that the police wouldn't find even if they had some reason to search your house and the property.

Awhile later and dad's gone off to bed early now that everything's been more or less settled between you two, and considering he stayed up all night waiting for you. With the house to yourself now though, you gladly return to your room and collapse on the bed with a long sigh. Rubbing at your face and remembering your way through all the stress and frenzy of recent events. It strikes you how haphazard your villainous career has been thus far, and how a lot of it was luck to account for your inexperience or stumbling your way through things. In time you hope to attain some professionalism to compare to the classic and classy supervillains of yesteryear, but for now... even though you like the way things are, you like your style of villainy and certainly you have a lot to show for it, it also couldn't hurt to have a little more care in how you operate.

At least, then you wouldn't have be all paranoid about going on vacation.

"Well I could drive wherever, but there's nothing stopping me from taking a plane either... ah, but what about work?"

Laying in bed with your laptop and browsing about on the internet for where you might go, there is that annoying reminder that nags at you all the while. The matter of your manager job at Barstucks. Of course now that you've a multimillionaire at least, the idea of having a job is even less appealing to you, if such a thing were possible. However it might add to any potential suspicion if you were to just up and disappear right after the robber happened, or even if you were to officially quit, to do so right after as well. That, and... well not that you really care much anymore, but it wouldn't look as good on any resume. So while your thoughts and concerns, your life in general, are now so far beyond mundane matters like your wageslaving job it is worth considering at least.

Otherwise though, your focus and growing interest is of course much more towards this potential little vacation you might get away on. Wondering where in the world you could go...

Well it's worthwhile to consider whether you still want to keep the job going forward. Before it was a means of keeping up appearances, maintaining your life as Carrie Cross, and as well a potential way of accounting for newfound money you were getting with small time crimes... and of course, maintaining the illusion of normalcy to your dad. While you've made up your mind to get away from Malton for a time, you're definitely not going to go off-grid, but rather to an even bigger city! If you got into some decent trouble here in Malton, a middling city, then it stands to reason you would get in little trouble if any in a big city, and extreme trouble in a small city. Plus, you already had considered lying low at the secret society for a time, and you should be able to manage that as well if you so desire when you expect there to be branches of the secret society in any big city you might venture to around the world.

The only question is where and when, and you suppose it will have to be at least not for a week or specifically the work-week. For all your villainous triumphs and change in fortune, you're dismayed to remember that you still have to go in to work on Monday. Even if you want to quit, you can't suddenly do so now as you worry how suspicious that may seem after the robbery just took place. And so if you are going to keep the job at least for the time being, you'll need to keep working until you can schedule the time to take it off or call it in sick, for an adequately long enough time.

"Can you believe it?! When was the last time something like this happened around here?"

"Yeah but who cares? She's got a dumb name and a dumb look, kind of... you know, kind of skanky?"

"Well you can think what you want, but I think she's pretty cool. Robbing a bank, or whatever it was, who even does that anymore?"

And so you spend the rest of the weekend recovering, and bitterly head into work on Monday morning. Annoyed with the circumstances and feeling like this is all so beneath you, after what you've seen and done recently. But, you can at least fake a smile and put in the effort, all the while counting the hours until you can clock out. Just five days of this, at least. Five days of acting the manager of this chain-cafe and dealing with your employees as much as customers. Particularly your employees who you can't help hearing their discussion and gossip pertaining to rather personal matters, of the new supervillain in town. That seems to be a pretty big topic on everyone's minds, with reactions ranging from fear to interest to ambivalence, and everything else between.

Damn it all, they can't even get your name right! Stupid media taking it upon themselves to change your name for what they thing sounds better to report on and broadcast. But then, how often is it that people don't get to choose what they are known as, or for? Still, considering all the gossip is obviously very personal to you, you try to gave your input on the matter without putting your foot in your mouth. Your effort is... recognized, but regarded as strange since you otherwise never usually converse and get along with your co-workers. The best you can try to do is pitch your involvement as relevant, due to the proposed initiative of creating some sort of drink to sell that commemorates "Stretch Girl" and her villainous efforts, in order to cash in on people's interest.

Still, if you have to continue working here you wouldn't mind being on better terms with your co-workers. That's your desire at least, but then like the job itself, it feels even harder to relate to these people after what you've done and seen even just recently let alone your overall situation. Like there's still interest from Travis and the offer of going out with everyone after work, whatever that may lead to. But already you're thinking of skipping town after having committed a serious crime, so what common ground is there?

Ah well, your fickle heart you suppose. Emotionally a bit frustrating how Stretch Goals continues to triumph and grow as a presence in the world, and Carrie continues to stagnate. Perhaps that's just the way of things, if you truly want to succeed as the greatest supervillain of all time, and to take over the world.

There's a pretty wide spread of possible improvements, but it seems the mainstay is between Composition and Control, so both will be improved. Bringing you to;

Notably then for your two currently-preferred stats, your Composition is nearly that of a normal human body, to where your body would only distort by your will and someone else couldn't just grab and pull you to stretch your body. As for Control, you now have full manipulation of your body out to 80 feet, where your maximum stretch distance is 100 feet. So before you had been limited in the range of 40 feet or less, now you are able to for example, consciously stretch yourself out (rather than needing to pull yourself on something) to such a distance without any hindrance to your manipulation or dexterity; so you'd be able to type at a computer just fine even when stretched out so much, for example.

And because you made use of a special benefit to do this, you immediately gain competence with all your stats as they are now, rather than the usual period of needing to exercise and learn about/how to use them, and waiting for your body to grow and adjust with your increasing abilities. So as it stands, you are now significantly more capable with your superpower than you were even a week ago.

As much as you want to shove your head into the ice blender for listening to all the gossip in every which way about "Stretch Girl", there is some benefit you suppose to hearing what average folks have to say and what they think about the new supervillain in Malton. It would be too easy to just continue withdrawing from the world and focus on being a supervillain without ever knowing or caring about your place in society. Maybe there's nothing wrong with that... you don't particularly care for other people on a good day, but at the same time you don't want Carrie Cross to be forgotten to the world. Secretly, and only secretly of course, you'd prefer if you were a popular social butterfly! But you're not really cut out for that, probably too late to change now that you're twenty and emotionally bitter about the whole thing.

Bah! But if you can't have that, well there's nothing wrong with trying to make new friends, if only so that it makes your job a little less miserable.

Monday you have the idea, Tuesday you wrack your brain over how to approach the matter, and Wednesday you manage to work up the courage to finally ask. Unfortunately in this day-and-age, for most people their job isn't some fun place to hang out together and treat co-workers as friends. Or certainly a wageslave job at Barstucks isn't the place for that, and you aren't the only one who normally tries to just do the job and not want to be bothered about it after checking out and just going home. A few of your co-workers though know each other outside work, and Travis in particular asked you out with them before. Of course you get the impression he's into you and would want things to go the way of dating, which wouldn't be the worst thing you suppose, but for now you're just interested in spending time with these people and getting to know them better.

Ostensibly to better know and gauge how the common citizenry think and feel about Stretch Goals, but then it wouldn't be the worst thing if you became familiar with people other than your two only friends. Unfortunately since it's not the weekend you probably won't be able to spend time with everyone of the usuals outside work, but a few to start with isn't so bad. Travis of course, Millie, Rachel, Quentin, sometimes Davonne. They're the ones who don't just keep to themselves at work, who you're most likely to hang out with beyond job hours.

As much as you'd like to tag along with your co-workers, it took you as much time and deliberation to even ask them for it, so you can't imagine how you're going to be able to actually attend without making a fool of yourself. Unless of course... you have help! That's right, your friends Kelly and Chris could act as wingmen or whatever appropriate term would apply here, so that you're not just the odd one out among your co-workers. Plus you'll feel a lot more comfortable being there with them so you can better make friends or at least better fit in.

Though to enlist the help of your two friends, they can't promise anything on such short notice so that cuts today out. Which is fine anyway you suppose, since it just means you can focus on this weekend. Only a couple days away and more of what you had in mind with everyone going out together. Not to mention more time for you to prepare, as your mind feverishly toils over the following couple of days, as to what you should do and how you should act and everything else.

Without worrying yourself into a coma though, Friday comes around and it's finally your time to shine! You'll become the most popular person in the group, amazing and delighting everyone with your personality and presence!

You put so much effort into making this all work, organizing for your friends to tag along with you, trying to dress up nice and offering to pay for everyone. And sure, you do get positive attention and appreciation for it. But as you should have expected, Kelly just effortlessly steals the show and quickly becomes the center of attention while you end up relegated to just fetching people drinks... without even getting to have any yourself, because you're the only loser without a fake ID.

The venue is nice at least, where you all go out to; the old mill district west of downtown that has gentrified and been renovated in recent years. A pretty cool and lively nightlife scene with plenty of people around to appreciate the numerous bars and clubs, restaurants and cafes, hip businesses and quirky little hole-in-the-walls like a walk in massage joint and a couple art galleries.

A cool enough place that you wouldn't mind going even just on your own sometime, and in a way it kind of feels like you're on your lonesome anyway. Currently your group has found its way to some open-air brick plaza between old mill buildings, where there's a competitive jeopardy effort among groups of people in the outdoor portion of one of the bars here. Of course as usual you made the mistake of trying to take things seriously and actually play the game, before eventually realizing that everyone is rather just treating it as a backdrop to socialize instead.

Really your only company is Travis, who tries to make time for you besides the others, and Chris who also isn't drinking.

It's been some time since you talked with Chris let alone spent time together, but you're glad to have brought him here even if neither of you are suited for it, at least you can keep each other company while everyone else socializes. Always having had pretty similar interests, you're at least more comfortable even in a social setting like this, for having someone you can relate to.

Kelly is your best friend and you know she wouldn't try to rain on your parade, but you know you're never going to be able to compete with her in a social environment. You could lean on her to help you out or at least share the space with you, but then you wouldn't want to hinder her either. Best to leave it be then, if nothing else you'd still count this as an overall success. You managed to tag along with your co-workers outside of the job and you avoided making a fool of yourself thanks to the help of your friends... even if it was simply by the attention being drawn away from you.

And besides, there's the chance to catch up with Chris as well, it's been awhile since you've seen him and the two of you can talk until the matter of food is brought up among the group.

"I want to get something to eat, there's plenty of places around here and I couldn't drink anymore with only snack food from the bar here."

How nice of you, how generous, how cool. Carrie volunteering to pay for and fetch everyone's dinner for them, while they all continue to hang out together and enjoy the evening. This is your best bet to keep relevant without participating, and a chance for a breather after already spending so much time already with other people all around you. There's deliberation among the group before settling on a restaurant around here, and then placing the combined order yourself to pay for everything.

Before you can make your way from the bar, Travis calls after and catches up to you. Offering to help you out and keep you company, well you wouldn't mind it. Better the chance to make a new friend and not just keep up with old ones.

Sitting together outside some nifty Korean restaurant and waiting for everyone's food to be ready for takeout, you get to talking with Travis and have a pretty good time of it even. Nervous at first of course but he's friendly and accommodating enough, if a bit forward. When it was a group of people, whether or not they're strangers, you didn't have the drive to be able to engage with them. Far too easy and quickly to get emotionally exhausted by that degree of socializing.

Just one person though, you're better able to ease up and feel comfortable enough to talk freely and enjoy yourself even. And the both of you are able to learn more about each other in some fifteen-odd minutes than you had in the last six months working together. What high schools you each went to, what compelled you both to take the job, some shared disdain for Malton in various ways, and what you both like to do to make up for the shortcomings of your shared small-town-city.

"I don't want to be working at Barstucks forever though, I was thinking of applying to UTM... err... well I did apply, but I'm thinking of going!"

"Oh yeah? Me too, still got awhile to work for it but maybe we'll end up going the same time? Then it won't be just work we have to see each other."

You try not to get too giddy about things, but it's difficult when you're feeling nervous again. Not awkward nervous though like usual, but excited nervous. A strange feeling you're not used to, but fortunately Travis doesn't seem to mind if you slip up here and there like a goof. This is your first time hanging out with a group of people anyway, so you're bound to stumble here and there but your new friend makes you not mind it that much.

Yeah, this is better your speed, and more your enjoyment than trying to stay afloat among a group of near-strangers. You wouldn't mind spending the rest of the night like this with him, but even if you return you already feel you'll manage better amongst the group after this little triumph.

As much as you might like to see where things could go with him, you're happy to be getting along with Travis so don't want to go and trip over yourself when you've made a new friend at least. You're enjoying yourself and the way things are going, so it's fine to keep things the way they're going for the rest of the night. Maybe another time you could spend more time with him personally, for now though you're actually kind of eager to get back to the rest of the group, for once.

So you continue your conversation with Travis while the two of you carry the food together, back to the outdoor seating for the big projected movie screen and much to the celebration of the rest of the group.

"Y-Yeah! I thought, you know, it was better than pizza at least."

"Hey, it isn't just a pizza place! You've gotta try it next time."

Able to find your place among the group at one of the tables they dragged together for this, and more a participant than a spectator to the socializing. Though you wouldn't go as far to say you're "in" with the group, much less the center of attention, but you're able to talk and laugh along with them at least. Better than quietly sitting off to the side or fetching people drinks back and forth. Thanks to Travis, well it wasn't all that much really but a little helped you along enough of the way.

Though it is admittedly quite exhaustive for you to engage as much with as many people, but you try your best to keep up with things. Perhaps too well, enough to get distracted for your situational awareness to be amiss. It isn't until the others start asking and talking about the fuss among other folks in the outdoor seating area, that you start to pick up on something going on. Many people on their phones watching something, some broadcast, until eventually it garners enough attention that someone gets the movie projecting crew to cut it short and change over to a site or station which is showing it.

"-and you don't think this would be a matter for the authorities to handle?"

"Sure I respect the police, but criminals like this don't respect them. They don't respect nothing! Well I've got some strong words, I don't know if you have to censor this or not, but I'm gonna say it."

"Well this is live broadcast, we can't exactly-"

What you see, what ends up being projected on the big outdoor screen is some sort of news broadcast of an interview? It has to be something independent because it's like a live stream rather than an actual news corporation channel, but it still looks professional nonetheless.

A reporter lady and weirdly enough a superhero, it seems the interview has been going for a bit already by the time people started catching on and the buzz spread. Who the hero is though, causes you to gasp and stand up in alarm.

"H-Hey... I know him!"

"Well yeah, he's that uhh... Jetstream guy?"

"Everyone knows him around here."

The same superhero you encountered during your big robbery of the tower, and ended up getting into a tussle with on the rooftops and down in an alleyway. Why he's on TV now or some live broadcast at least, you don't know but your instinctive reaction of familiarity is fortunately overlooked by the others around you. Besides what's being discussed in the interview, you can glean some information from the screen graphics and something about having a message for the new supervillain in Malton.

The hero himself certainly has his opinions, as he moves to grab the microphone with the reporter struggling to take it back.

"And if you're listening Stretch Girl... that's right, how you like that name? When you hear this... I'm calling you out! Tomorrow, same place as last time, same time as last time! Unless you're too chickenshit to show! Wouldn't surprise me Jeanine, you know? These criminals, these... "villains" they want to call themselves, bunch of two-bit losers all of them. Good thing we got rid of them, but it looks like someone didn't get the memo!"

The tirade continues for a few moments longer, as long as it takes for the projection crew to scramble and cut it off. Trying to switch back to the movie while you hear some guy yelling at another for switching to the broadcast in the first place. Though, that's the least of your notice, and much the same as everyone else really.

Millie out of everyone breaks the silence to say what was on everyone's mind... or rather, on your mind at least, probably not anyone else's. Though everyone is quickly taken to gossip and how wild this is... public exchanges between heroes and villains, but you meanwhile are more than a little shaken by what you saw and heard. Still reeling as if the man himself had slapped you in the face, a real conflict of emotions between fear and anger and everything in between. Getting singled out by a hero? You should be gleeful as an indicator of your success as a villain, but you can't help feeling afraid for his vicious targeting of you! But why be afraid when you should be furious, at him reinforcing your false-name of "Stretch Girl" in the media, and possibly that he even was the source of it?! He thinks he's angry, well you're angry and want to pound his face into a bloody mess!

"You alright Carrie? You're looking kind of... out of it."

A firm hand to your shoulder, as Travis reminds you of where you are and what's going on. Everyone else continues to ignore the movie and gossip, since this potential chain of events is far more interesting than anything else going on. There haven't been heroes contesting villains since before any of you were born, and of places for it to happen in, is your sleepy city of Malton. Even if this little tirade on broadcast is all that ends up happening, it's still something significant.

That said, you're too emotionally distraught to contribute or participate much in the conversation. You can keep up the act for the remainder of the evening, but your mind will be on only one thing and you'll be counting the minutes until you can leave.

Honestly if it weren't for the group of people you're with and your friends, you would have already dashed off to find the bastard and whoop his ass. And not even so much for enjoying yourself on the night out with everyone, but simply because it would probably be rather suspicious if you suddenly up and had to leave, and then shortly afterward Stretch Goals shows up to fight the hero for all to see. He wants to broadcast to the whole city and insult you like that, worst of all get your name wrong and propagate the media lie? That's a personal affront and you'd be happy to ruin something of his in return.

Hell, it may even be worse, people across the country finding out. As others in the group said, this is kind of a big deal and heroes versus villains hasn't been a thing for a long time, to now potentially be happening again? It makes you angry that you want to break something even if it isn't his face, and you have to catch yourself from elastically deforming your face from clenching your teeth so hard. Absolutely fuming, it's a good thing you have company to watch out for you.

"-no! No... it's... it's fine, I'm fine... it's nothing..."

Already aware of your reaction to the video, Travis notices your anger sitting next to you and unfastens your grip on the table with his own hands. More than being friendly, just a caring or rather worried gesture, which helps a lot in... well, trying to calm down at least. Able to breathe deeply (but not so deep that your chest distends) and easing up a little, letting go of some of that anger before it makes you do something stupid. Feeling his hand to yours and helping to steady your heart.

Of course you're not going to just ignore this and you're still angry, but at least you're more level-headed to be able to act normally again. The key word being act, as you pretend to enjoy yourself as you were and pass by the rest of the evening with a smile. Until eventually everyone calls it a night later on, and after giving a ride home to Millie and Davonne, you can rush home yourself. Practically throwing open the kitchen door and startling your dad who was sitting in the living room.

"That you hun?"

"No dad, I'm an arsonist."

"That's nice... you enjoy yourself?"

Stomping around the kitchen in a maddening mix of anger and fear, you don't have to worry about keeping up appearances or driving angry and getting in a wreck, now that you're home. You even punch the countertop and annoy yourself for it not hurting and elastically rebounding, throwing you off balance.

Fortunately but weirdly though, dad doesn't seem to notice much and is occupied? You'd worried on the way home that he'd see the news or something about the broadcast and worry for your sake, when a hero calls out a vendetta against you. Though the TV is on but some channel other than the news, he's occupied reading something on his own laptop. Looking for something to do other than be angry or afraid that a superhero wants to take you out, you stomp over behind the couch to lean over and hug him.

"What'cha doing dad?"

"It's nothing... well, it's something. You probably don't want to hear it..."

"No, go on. Tell me."

To your confusion and then concern though, he actually asks you to take a seat beside him before talking, as you kick off your shoes and clumsily clamor over the back of the couch to plonk down beside him. He doesn't take your hands when he speaks so you know it's not something personal, but he still looks perturbed and closes the laptop to speak to you.

"How do I... you remember my old business partner, Leonard? You haven't seen him in some years, if you don't remember..."

"Mr. Kovacs, yeah I remember him." as quickly as you blurt it out, for your very significant and recent interaction with Kovacs, you notice some confusion in your dad.

"Right, well... he's uh, dead. I mean we had our differences but it's, you know shocking to hear. I only found out earlier today."

It's a good thing he didn't take your hands in his, or he'd feel your reaction to this news. You try your hardest not to give anything away but when it comes to your dad, he can read you effortlessly. Fortunately though, he would never suspect you of doing anything like what you did do, so he probably just thinks you're oddly upset about the news rather than suspicious of you for it.

"...h-how did he... die?"

"I'm not totally sure, but it doesn't sound good. Like he'd gone off south or something near the border and was... well, it's not pleasant but he was killed."

And just like that your anger and fear about being targeted by a superhero, just blew out the window. Now you're alarmed at hearing this, and fortunately it's horrible enough news that you don't need to worry too much about your alarmed reaction. Although of course, you are alarmed and worried about this for completely different reasons than your dad. Without even thinking much, you find yourself holding against the pocket of your dress... your mind drifting to the "club" membership card in your wallet.

When eventually you can get back to your own room then, collapsing on the bed and screaming into your pillow, you're able to calm down a little more and start thinking clearly. In part, a lot of that is due to the rather sobering and even terrifying news of the grim fate of Mr. Kovacs. Though you had your suspicious of what might happen to him when you were at the members club, finding out it actually came true is nevertheless shocking to you. Not that you liked the guy at all, but if you had known it could have cost him his life, then would you still have stolen the membership card from his safe?

And what was he doing with such a card in the first place anyway? Something you might want to ask or try and figure out, if you ever go back there. Without being too obvious of course in asking questions. Maybe you shouldn't want to ever go back, but hearing that they killed a man who assumedly fled across the country, doesn't really hold as much weight as when you personally saw a man and a woman beaten to death in front of you.

"Ergh... now I kind of want to get away even more..."

The good news is you can take the week off work at least, having now cleared it and scheduled your time off over this workweek passed. You almost don't want to though, the reason for your anger mostly being the superhero calling you out on live news broadcast to anyone who would listen... so the whole city basically, and even beyond. You feel yourself just getting more frustrated when you try looking online for the internet response to it all, so hoping to spare yourself the aggravation you choose instead to just ignore it all.

You're not going to be there tomorrow, you're not going to answer the petty summons of some upset hero. You'd planned on skipping town for awhile after your big crime and so that's what you're going to do. And all the better for it you might add, you really don't need more trouble right now... even if you could show up looking all badass, and totally beat the guy up with your awesome superpowers, and show the whole world you mean business and get super famous and respected, that would be so cool and-

You start looking around online for any sorts of package deals or limited time promos you can benefit from, and then remember that you don't have to worry about money anymore. So whether it's fly or drive, wherever you get to you can more than afford whatever accommodations you want for as long as you want. Though, probably only part of the week since you'll have to get back to work the week after that.

If so, I wouldn't be able to make a new thread until after the weekend, so that will give some time to fill however you see fit. As well of course to decide where you want to go, for when the next thread starts with you arriving to the new destination.

So yes, the write-in is for you to decide where you might want to travel to, and as well if there's anything minor/small time you might want to do, or have ideas for in the few interim days between. Like, spending some of that stolen money you have, could be an example of what you'd do, or practicing and exercising with your powers and coming up with new ideas and techniques to use. I suppose this is as good a time as any to figure out what you'd like to do with your abundance of money.

Last it was, there seemed to be a potential majority towards letting the secret society handle and manage your funds? Unless that has changed since, now would be the time to finalize that.

But aside of where your money is to be kept, you also have the chance to spend it if you want. Probably not the best idea to pay for legitimate things with stolen money, like buying yourself a house. But if you wanted to spend it on villainous stuff, you can probably figure out a way to do that clandestinely and/or illegally. Just something to consider, now that you've got more than enough money to get whatever you want for your

Seems like a slight majority for Miami then, and a definite majority for a Lair. I'll try to make the new thread here then, either tonight or tomorrow and will link it here same as last time.

In the meantime though we can still make use of this thread then, to specify what you want for your lair. As to the actual place itself and what you may want, that is bound to be pretty open-ended and whatever you players can come to a consensus on. Similar to your choice of villainous vehicle, the ultimate choice will be yours but some options could include a skyscraper penthouse, a cold war bunker, a fancy old mansion, or perhaps even blurring the lines with vehicle a little, such as a luxury yacht, or even some airborne vessel?

These are just examples though, and the rolled 82 (>>5971673) can account for something fairly out of the ordinary if you should so desire, or if you settle for something along the lines of the examples, then a factor that would set it apart from other such similar locations. So if for example you chose an old bunker (an impressive but still conventional location), then the 82 could apply to it being an old missile silo specifically, something that would set it apart from other such bunker locations.

As for the actual stats though;

>Defense (0/5) - How well constructed or secure the lair is, including actual security measures.
>Comfort (0/5) - How habitable is the lair? Is it some austere place with only villainy in mind, or is it a luxurious place you call home?
>Accessories* (0/5) - What is the lair capable and equipped with, beyond the norm?

Say that you have somewhere in the range of two-million dollars to work with, you can go ahead and assign four points across the categories, or potentially expand to a new category you think would be appropriate/relevant and useful. Not a ton to work with perhaps, but real estate is expensive! Though like your vehicle, you can continually improve your lair overtime with more resources. Note that with the Accessories category you can specify if there's any particular accessories or modifications you had in mind, like a death ray as an example.

And same as with the vehicle, certain locations with have inherent category values. So like an old bunker will naturally have a high defense, while a skyscraper penthouse will naturally have a high stealth.
