Currently the Votes are Tied at 2 - will it be the nomadic Centaurs or the savage Vanara trying to strive in this harsh world? Are we lost in a desert or stranded on a floating island - only time will tell...

The life in the sky is harsh at times. Even though your floating island provided your tribe with enough to survive the ressources scattered around are sparse. Each day a few Vanara are gathering berries or hunting for small birds to keep your tribe from starvation.
At the evenings the elders tell tales from the great war. This was the reason for your exile - your banishment from the ground as you used to know it, exiled on a floating island to spare your race of extinction. Many tales of the era before the war are lost and few dare to speak of it for the scars in your minds cut deep - the suffering and loss you had to endure are traumatizing for every one who can still remember.
If things werent dire enough the only place you dare to life in is a small cave for in the night the harpies of the south hunt - and they are hungry.

Last week the former tribe leader died from a lightning strike. Storms are common here and have been the death of many of our people. Some call it a bad omen, some call it a punishment from the gods - others are on the verge of surrendering. However one stood there to give a new spark of hope to the tribe - the child of the former leader. A Vanara young, strong and full of sheer will to change the fate of your Tribe to the better.

before we properly begin we need to:

>name our leader
>choose the type of animal companion your tribe has

Our new leader will try to tame his companion - an essential step for every Vanara coming of age.

A larger magical variant of the ordinary crow. They're a fierce and opportunistic creature that serve as scouts and carriers in exchange for the ritualistic eating of the dead bodies of the Vanara. It is said the greatest and oldest of the Carrion crows can tap into foul necrotic magic.

Since i wont be here for much longer today and anon put the most effort in his post we will go with this for now to get us started.

Our new leader Akrule departs on his quest to tame a Carrion Crow. The lair of these beasts is located on a Mountain to the South of our Cave. With iron will and the determination to bring prosperity to his people he climbs the mountain with his bare hands. On top of it he spots a rare sight: an albino Carrion Crow. His red eyes appear to pierce right into Akrules' soul. With a ritualistic offering (the arm of the deceased leader) he approaches the young Crow.
Before nightfall he returns with his new companion and will now be properly recognized as a leader. He is sure that a great future lies before them. In the midst of night the tribe comes together and Akrule discusses with them his plans.

Currently our tribe consists of 20 Vanara,
5 of them are still children,
8 are seen as warriors who formed bonds with Carrion Crows,
5 of them are untested vanara who either failed or have yet to perform the ritual of the Crow and can work on simple tasks and
2 of them are elders - unfit for work but they may have knowledge to share

It is currently Spring
The food is sparse and we life from our daily gatherings and the occasional hunting. If we want to survive the upcoming winter we should better prepare or we might face a disaster.
The new Leader Akron boosts morale by a bit but the general mood is low.

We fear the night for a tribe of harpies is hunting anyone left outside the cave in the darkness.
We know nothing much of our surroundings apart from the berries to the north and the Mountain to the south which houses the Carrion Crows.

>we should scout our surroundings
>explore deeper into the caves - possibly dangerous but it might be worth it
>other

will be back in ~11 hours - i have so much more skaven to paint and currently lots of free time. Have fun discussing plans. Art and naming of characters is strongly recommended

We explore further down the cave in hopes of finding precious ressources we can use for our tribe. As we venture deeper the cave walls begin to glow in a bioluminescent green, apparently caused by some mushrooms. The scouting party consisting of 4 warriors gather a few for further inspection in the camp. Suddenly one of the party drops down. coughing blood. The rest quickly pull him back towards our small camp near the exit but on the way up another one starts coughing and looses consciousness. Apparently the air here is highly toxic probably caused by the mushrooms. Morale takes a hit and a few hours later the other 2 warriors fell ill and need to be treated. The crows of the 2 deceased warriors refuse to leave their dead bodies and if you could see worry in the eyes of a bird you would see it in the cros watching over the beds of the ill warriors. Akrule, our leader, declares the cave off-limits for now.
>we lost 2 warriors, 2 more are sick and need treatmentdue to poisoning in the cavern air below.
>2 samples of mushrooms are kept away from our camp as to not poison any more members
>morale of our tribe is depressed
>food and medical supplies are dwindling
>end of spring

What is Akrules plan to keep us alive?

>booby trap some small prey to test the mushrooms on the harpies
>ask the elders for treatments and ideas against the poison to possibly venture again into the cave
>ask the Carrion Crows if their necromantic magic can do anything for the deceased
>other

Roll 1d100 for success (to prevent meta gaming the last votes roll will count - if forgotten i will roll)

We will go with this for now since i sadly have to take my leave for today

You prepare a couple of rabbits with the mushrooms and wait for the night. The harpies, having faced no serious opposition so far, devour them without a worry and drop dead in a few secounds. The mushrooms proof to be highly poisonous if ingested or if their dust is inhaled.
>the cave mushrooms proved to be highly poisonous - if only we had a way to harvest them without getting sick ourselves.
>2 harpy corpses lie next to the berry fields - they cant be eaten as they have ingested the poison but maybe we can find use for them in another way

Currently our tribe consists of 18 Vanara,
5 of them are still children,
6 are seen as warriors who formed bonds with Carrion Crows, 2 Warriors are currently being treated with rest and are sick,
5 of them are untested vanara who either failed or have yet to perform the ritual of the Crow and can work on simple tasks and
2 of them are elders - unfit for work but they may have knowledge to share

It is currently Late Spring
The food is sparse and we life from our daily gatherings and the occasional hunting. If we want to survive the upcoming winter we should better prepare or we might face a disaster.

>Gameplay

>ask the elders for treatments and ideas against the poison to possibly venture again into the cave

The elders trying their best to treat the poisoned and at first with little success. Since they only inhaled a small amount their situtation wasnt deadly at first but their condition is worsening by the minute. All they could do at the time was reducing the pain of their patients until the crows helped us once again. The 2 crows of the deceased warriors bonded with the elders, combining the elders knowledge and the crows necromantic magic to come up with a magical cure. In a ritual the elders managed to cure them and even improve them beyond their former selves. Those 2 Warriors now are bestowed a necromantic blessing giving them limited regenerative capabilities as well as a body thats immune to most poisons unless of a potent magical origin.

>2 warriors, from now on known as the "poison guard", have high poison immunity and slow regeneration
>in this process their Crows feathers took a green taint - they may be able to retrain to cast poison magic instead of necromancy
>the elders gained 2 crows, now assisting them in their search for medical and arcane knowledge
>morale is now back at a medium, your tribe felt that it could prevail in hardship and the successes against the harpies and the treatment there seems to be a glimmer of hope in the eyes that once surrendered their fate.

Nonetheless our situation is far from good - the food problem still persists and summer will shortly arrive, time is ticking. 2 Mothers gave birth to new children, increasing the mouths to feed even more.

Currently our tribe consists of 20 Vanara,
7 of them are still children,
4 are seen as warriors who formed bonds with Carrion Crows,
2 Warriors are known as the "Poison Guard" with Crows as green as emeralds and have high poison immunity and slow regeneration,
5 of them are untested vanara who either failed or have yet to perform the ritual of the Crow and can work on simple tasks and
2 of them are elders - unfit for work but they may have knowledge to share

Apart from them we are led by Akrule, who commands the tribe and has an Albino Crow resting on his shoulder.

>we could try to send akrule and the rest of the warriors into the caves, getting them poisoned and reawaken them as poison guard (50% death chance per individual)
>our poison guard could scout the caverns some more
>the poison guard can harvest more of the deadly mushrooms
>search the surroundings to the (east/west) for a food source

The landscape to the east didnt look all to promising at first. Rocky cliffs and deep canyons made exploration difficult. As the scouting party was seeking shelter from the burning sun they found what they first believed to be a hallucination. Almost like an oasis between the canyons a lake surrounded by grass, fruit bearing trees and filled with fish was hidden from previous exploration attempts. Water gathers from the surrounding cliffs and fills this massive body of water, almost half a mile in diameter. As long as we dont over-fish this should be a sustainable food source for many years to come and the fruit trees will make a fine addition to our diet in the summer.

With our food situation taken care of for the moment the vanara find themselves in a celebratory mood - maybe we can survive in this hostile land after all!

>fishing is done with our berries from the north as bait and simple fishing rods made from wood
>3 children grew up and 2 of the "untested" made their way up the mountains to the south to find a carrion companion

Akrule feels that with our most basic needs fulfilled it is time to improve our situation for the years to come in other way. He considers to either

>fortify the cave and build simple huts and shelter from wood inside since so far we have been sleeping on straw beds next to the campfire close to the entrance
>set up a training camp for our warriors to improve their battle proficencies and give them an edge in upcoming conflicts
>set up defenses against the harpies (happy to hear your ideas)
>build a school for the elders to teach the young ones
>other (always encouraged to bring in your own ideas)

>summer has arrived

>set up a training camp for our warriors to improve their battle proficencies and give them an edge in upcoming conflicts
>with a focus on ranged weaponry
Setting traps for the harpies won't always work, we need to be able to do something face-to-face in case something pops up.

You set up a Training camp to improve your warriors proficency with ranged weapons. First Tests on Slingshots work well and are simple enough to produce in large quantities. Your People now carry slingshots while the Warriors regularly train with them and are quite accurate with them even when moving after a few days. The poison guard even came up with the idea of loading in a few poison mushrooms from the caves so you can now throw them at a range however be careful not to end up in the crossfire with your normal troops.

Everything seems to be going well for your small tribe and morale is great today.

>wait for nightfall and test the new weapons on the harpies
>explore (cave or west)
>build something
>other

Rolling for random event next turn :)

>>6088561
Explore the cave. Collect more mushrooms with our poison guards. Test if another warrior can overcome the poison.

Maybe our poison crows have spells to help resist poison. Don't let the elders handle the mushrooms they have less constitution.
