NAME: The Club of Abnormal Phenomena (C.A.P.)
COLOUR: Maroon
STARTING VILLE: Right around where Port Hedland is on here.
FLUFF:
Back in their home country of Great Britain, there was a problem. A major problem.
The prisons were simply too full. While they could put a lot of low skill prisoners to great use by being pawned off to wealthy patrons as slaves, The Powers That Be realized that they could use the more skilled prisoners for something greater.
They have found that there is that large empty expanse of land thousands on thousands of miles away from their own territory that has seemingly not been settled. There seems nothing inherently wrong about the land so The Powers That Be have proposed a hypothesis: Here Be Dragons. Or, at least, some sort of unexplainable phenomena that has left the place barren. If there is such phenomena there, perhaps there can be profit to be made here.
To test out this hypothesis, they sent a ship filled with prisoners. While a majority are low skilled, a small leading force of former academics, doctors, and holy men and women were also sent along to research whatever might be waiting at this island.

They were given one goal: To study and research the continent in an attempt to find any supernatural, abnormal, or anomalous phenomena that could be of great use to the Empire. If they could find enough objects, creatures, or phenomena of use to the Empire? Whoever survives would be pardoned of their crimes.

The Eco-Villains
Olive
Middle of New South Wales

This world was made for human exploitation. I, Doctor Barbara Blight, have been sent by The Eco-Villains to conquer this sector of Earth, and extract all of it's resources.

I, together with Hoggish Greedly, Sly Sludge, Looten Plunder, Duke Nukem, Verminous Skumm, Zarm, and Captain Pollution, will exploit this planet and become rich beyond imagination!

First matter of order is to start injecting the wildlife with sludge from coal and oil plants. This will... Help our goal somehow.

The Great Warlord PingPong has landed in the Birds' Head Penninsula of Western New Guinea. The Divine Mandate of Heaven compels him to conquer Australia swiftly, but perhaps it is wisdom to consolidate Papua first?

>>6094358
In their hubris, Humans have come to believe that Australia belongs to them, but this is not so. In the blighted isle of Van Diemon's Land, a dark force rises, a terrible foe many hoped would never return. Soon, the whole continent will quake in the onslaught of their taloned feet.

Australia is a realm of many great and terrible wonders, few of which are known to civilised science. So, a grand expedition has been launched to seek out, understand, and, if necessary, destroy the strange elements of this distant southern land.

THOUGHTS: I already hate it here. I can sense that this place, even without any anomalous influence, is not meant for human habitation. The heat is far more than what we have ever experienced back in the bosom of Great Britain. A lot of the less...enlightened souls are complaining about having to work in the heat. I pity them but only as much as you can pity those who were arrested for petty crimes. We will not be getting food rations for another six months at minimum if not more, so we must explore.
PLAN OF ACTION: We shall go south, staying close to the coast. (since I didn't see anything about dice, I'll just assume we go off post numbers?)

Ok, PingPong calls the billions of his comrades. They launch boats off the mainland packed to the brim with loyal soldiers. As these boats land on shore the hordes leap from the vessel, leaving those who died on the vessels forgotten. These new troops go to colonise the region of WNG and set up a launching point into Australia proper.

Dr. Blight hires translators to tell the aboriginals that kangaroo feet are worth one full jug of petrol each. Drill more oil to keep up with the demand, and direct the runoff into stagnant ponds to concentrate the toxins. 49% of the land rights are sold off to China to do with as they please, so long as they pay tribute to Babs.

The war chest is growing, and soon, surely in no time whatsoever, all of continental Australia will belong to the ruthless industrialist, Barbara Blight!

The world is changed.

I feel it in the water.

I feel it in the earth.

I smell it in the air.

Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it.

It began with the producing of the Great Films. Three were given to Peter Jackson, immoral, widest and hairiest of all beings. Three were given again to the Del Toro, before he did bow out and pass these again to Peter Jackson. And eight, eight shows in multiple series were gifted to the company of Amazon, who above all else desire power without responsibility. For within these films was bound the strength and the will to govern each era.

But they were all of them deceived, for another film was made. Deep in the land of Nippon, in the Shadow of Mount Fuji, the Lord
Kenji Kamiyama forged an Anime, and into this ring he poured his imagination, his tropes and his will to dominate all Media franchises.

One film to rule them all...

Piles of kangaroo feet lay at our collection sites. We discover they have absolutely no economic value whatsoever. On the bright side, kangaroos are now on the endangered species list, so The Eco Villains can charge higher prices at our zoos. The price to throw a peanut at one of the last joeys on earth rivals the cost of an electric vehicle. That reminds me, the next order of business is to ban electric cars, but continue strip mining the earth for lithium to build batteries for export. The abbo sweat shops will need some retooling and retraining, but I, Dr. Barbara Blight, will stop at nothing to make a profit!

OBSERVATIONS: It appears one of our researchers has had a run in with this 'Roo' species we have seen, so I have been tasked with recording and ordering our 'club' for this stretch of time until he recovers. We need to expand deeper eventually into this bizarre continent since as of now, we have seen nothing truly anomalous or spiritual.
I have been told that there is SOMETHING far, far inland in this continent. Our compasses keep pointing south-east. A researcher claimed it is 'magnetic interference'.

Great job so far, OP.
Do we have a time table so players can avoid missing rounds?

Also +1 vote for OP to rethink the bonuses, especially the special rolls.

> Consider using hard/static bonuses for dubs/trips/straights/palindromes.
> Otherwise you get some funky / counterintuitive gets

In many cases it is worse to roll a ABC straight.
(1/5 of the ABC straights results in '0' tiles gained)

60% of the dubs gets are worse than non-special rolls.
(I think a 0033 should be better than 0008, because its a dubs)

Trips rolls can be beaten by non-special rolls.
(0111 ties with any nonspecial ***0)

Yet, some trips can beat some quads.
(3333 = 20 tiles ; 0444 = 24 tiles)

Only 10 quads on a 10,000 sided die yet most result in less than 50

As the leader of the expedition was about to send his orders a message from The Crown came to him and the Commodores under him in the expedition, and this is what it read:

"To the honorable Commandant Walker and all subjects under the glorious Empire's service,
We hope this letter finds you well.
It has been determined that the Club monitoring 'the spiritual and paranormal', whose order lies from the auspices of the King's own will, shall not be harmed or have their activities obstructed unless provoked by their own ranks. Their work, which shall not be disclosed in this missive, is paramount to the interests of Britain within these foreign shores. Any inquiry can be sent with the same means this has come to you.
God protect your fortune in these wastes.

Yours very faithfully

>>
>>6096223
Yeah, I'm just one dude, but I think getting such a low result from such a cool roll is against the spirit of the game!

But it's a head-scratcher. Possibly OP is borrowing/taking inspiration from the archives without double checking the math.

There are 180 possible *ABC straights.
54 of them have a 0 or a 1 the either the A or B slot.

For what should be an awesome roll:
>Around 20% of getting = 0 territories
>Around 30% of getting < 2 territories.
>Around 40% of getting < 6 territories.

There are 20 straight-4 (ABCD)
>OP has it such that 5/20 of these rolls result in 0 tiles gained.

There are 90 palindrome-4s (X Y Y X)
>9 of these rolls also result in 0 tiles gained.

Lastly, and the most egregious in my opinion, is the quads.
Only 10 in the game. Probability is 8/100 of 1% to get such a roll.
>current ruleset results in +20 (at worse) and +60 (at best, w/0000)
>There are more x-y-z straights that give bigger gets (+72)

Sorry for the walls of text.
The USA Risk thread continued for 40+ days, so I believe it's worthwhile to think this through.

Many groups of pirates, shifting back and forth from former to newer plans, decided (after much drinking and brawling) on going back to the original plan of taking New Caledonia and to the seizing of the Solomon Islands after having their fill of the French colony.
>>

In response to an established schedule, I will do my best to update at 12PM and 12AM East Australia Time, though sometimes I get delayed
>>
Fluff:
With the freedom the pirates acclaim, it's only natural those that would wish to get away from the fist of the powers above and do what they wish, so long as the pirate's code is not broken, would be attracted to such a place. A land where the only law is the pistol attached to your belt, where the cutthroat and the ruthless can drink their fill of beer and blood.
In other news, some of the freebooters have decided to cast anchor in Fiji. Having had a taste of more 'subtle' ways in securing their ill gotten gains, they look inwards to tourism and plaster smiles on their faces...

LOG FROM HEAD RESEARCHER, WILLIAM WHISTLETHORE
DATE: 9/16/1724
OBSERVATION: We found our first anomaly! While the roos seem to be ordinary if bizarre looking animal, we have found something truly out of this world! A perfectly generic object! An object with no to very little discernible properties to it! No one can agree what size it is, what color it is, what shape it is, it randomly flips between being magnetic or not...
The only common property all of our observers have agreed upon is that it is a 'green' 'cube', but the exact specifics of what shade of green or what kind of cube are still being debated!
How queer! We have no idea what value this thing could have. Further study will be needed.
PLAN OF ACTION: Expand south.

Most Risk games on 4chan used post numbers to get their rolls since the threads would be fast enough to make it random, but that's not really possible in a board as slow as qst.

As the dawn bled into night, on the inside of a certain ship, it was then found that a quiet had come upon the many crews gathered on a New Caledonia that baptized its many ships and newly made ports with its waters. Today they sailors were gathered together for a vote, as Pirate Republics are wont to do when a great choice is before them. From the multitude a young man came forward and began to speak to the crowd.

"We've come here today to find our fortune. And found it we have!" Cheers erupted once again, and the man waited for the crowd to settle down before continuing.

"If anyone had said before we came to these islands that the world would come to us and willingly give us coin for nothing but laying on the sand and eating coconuts, we'd call them mad and make them walk the plank." Laughter sounded from a few at that "But here we are. Just outside one can see people coming and going, the fat of their pockets going directly to our coffers! And I ask you now" he paused for a moment and looked around "why should we want more than that?" a murmur spread to the congregation, some agreeing and some not. And from a shadow another man frowned deeply, matching the young man's enthusiasm with it.

"Why should we take more? The fight ahead would be bloody, and the price of victory meaningless if we lose what we have. Who here would risk it all just for something as frail as-" but his words were brought to an abrupt end, as he was shot dead. Near chaos started to unfold, but this was brought to an end by another gunshot and the yell of a man with a voice like grating metal.

"Fools!" and like that all was quiet once more as another man stepped forth, the captain of many ships, with a pistol in hand "Have ye forgotten the meanin' 'o plunder and glory? Ye would give it all away fer what: an office job, countin' numbers while ye sit down 'n forget who ye once were?" he spun around with accusations "Ye cabin boys! Would Blackbeard be here, he would send ye all down to Davy Jones' locker! So then, let us bring back the Old Ways like our brethren in other shores, who plundered and looted the seven seas with tales that made 'em live forever. Who be with me!"

Another third silence came down, not like the one before or the one prior to that. Hands were raised, the symbol of a vote in favor among the Free Corsairs, and not many after that. It was not a majority, maybe a plurality at best, but it was enough to send a message.

More figures would soon seek to defy this fate.

<><><><>
>>
<><><><>

The day after, within a tugboat docked by Fiji's shore, a Quartermaster shook himself awake. The events prior had spread like wildfire among the pirate networks, with some agreeing and some not, with many brawls and deaths as a consequence. He knew the Captain well, for he was his very own Quartermaster. While he took all the glory, that 'number counting' he spoke of was what gave the Captain such influence. But these mere insults were nothing compared to the most egregious idea of his; because early this morning an invasion of the British was detailed in the Captain's orders. In many respects, that had been the last straw for this nameless man who worked under him.

In another irony of fate, this Quartermaster would seek out to kill his own Captain and seize control for himself. He had the means to do it; countless hours of contingency planning prepared him for that.

Later accounts would find that this Quartermaster did not disagree fully with either the Captain or the young man whose life he took that fateful night. A balance had to be struck, not against an impossible foe like British Empire whose power would slowly strangle the Free Corsairs even if this expedition was extinguished, nor would it do good to stagnate with what they have while others become stronger. Perhaps a more manageable foe could be found, right beneath their noses from film sets to movie theaters, living in holes beneath the ground.

<><><><>
>>
<><><><>

Of the many that would oppose the captain, in a clandestine hotel not far from last night's shakeup, was a group of men sat in a circle and spoke in hushed tones. These were the Council of Eight, seven ex-privateers who sought to find their freedom in the Free Corsairs. To them the way of life under the Pirate Republic was an end to itself, as brutal and ruthless as it was. And they did not like the direction things were going, to say the least.

It was no secret that the Captain would plan to either waste his time fighting the Redcoats or the Fellowship. Neither posed as much of a threat as the Menace from the west, whose tyranny would destroy their precious autonomy. Their style reminded them of the Captain, to their collective amusement.

While individually they would be nothing to speak of, together they made more than a third of the pirate fleets. And they would use this force to tip the scales in whatever power struggle comes about.

But for now they whispered lamenting the young man who had been torn from their ranks too soon. While his ideas were not supported by the rest, his boldness cost him the ultimate price. And the more radical of them spoke of nonaggression with the Redcoats and Hobbits, in deals whose Devils they would soon play the part of.

> Conquest of the Seas was never going to be easy, with weather, scurvy and irate natives conspiring to slow the pirates advance. But with the conquest of Fiji, Caledonia, Vanuatu and the Solomons under his belt, the Old Captain became content to rest on his laurels and rule his new empire.
> But complacency is not the way of the Pirate; in a devilish move the Old Captain was slain, and a New Captain took his place. This was pleasing to Neptune, God of the Sea, who threw up his Trident as a gift; such a prize giving the Free Corsairs mastery over the waves so long as they have the will to keep it.

Both the Quartermaster and the Council of Eight would take note of these diplomatic overtures by the British. From this it came to their awareness that both factions wanted the same thing: for the Captain to disappear. It was easy, especially with the backing provided by their Anglo benefactors, to either slip some poison in the Captain's food or drink. Much less messy than the original plan of simply shooting or cutting him down. It would only take for a single gulp of wine and the Captain would breathe no more.

But it was now was a race to secure a greater position.

The wheel of fate doesn't wait for conspiracies, and to the Captain's grasp was a Trident bearing holy power. Now any dissent was made impossible with the blessing of Neptune on his side, and the Captain would go down in history as legend so long as things continued as they did. And so, another meeting was held between the three different factions.
But behind the shadows pirates plotted, waiting for the opportune moment when one would be proven wrong.

And history showed that-

>The Quartermaster found his glory with clever assassinations and was able to whip the whole of the pirates into his methodical ideas.
>The Council of Eight out maneuvered the Quartermaster and Captain, then used their power to guide the fleets as they pleased.
>The Captain purged his enemies and used the chaos to make his word law.
>The Captain, Quartermaster, and the Council of Eight come to an agreement after some back and forth. Stability would be fragile, but necessity would force them to cooperate lest they are found fighting among each other as the enemies close in (Chosen)

Soon they would sail towards the strongest, a Menace in Papua, before they became too powerful to oppose.
>Focus on taking the little islands of Papua New Guinea, then defense against PingPong's inevitable hordes, any spillover on taking the unclaimed largest island there and the little island beyond it, and finally if there's any spillover from that it goes to seize the unclaimed land on PNG.

Britannia rules the waves! The British sail to those small unclaimed islands beneath Papua New Guinea, which would appear to be connected to Queensland proper. Any spillover will go to retake the northern coast of Queensland proper
>>
>>6097970
The Commandant readily agrees to such terms and asks for more time to ponder a further mutually beneficial pact, yet privately mistrusts the surprisingly open offer from the clan of thieves.

The British now plan out how they could come on top in the worst case scenario.

Keep progressing in New Zealand, to unify the islands. We must consult with Radagast, for the native Kiwis, Kakapos and other local birds find themselves threatened by the Emu incursion onto our isles. Why have they come to this fair isle, when so much of their natural range on the Australian isle remains currently outside of their control? Are they in league with the Dark Lord, or is it mere happenstance that brings them to our door?

THOUGHTS: We have managed to discover a use for the Perfectly Generic Object! It seems like it is able to conduct electricity passing through it with a 99.8% energy exchange rate due to it being so anomalously generic! We are testing out new automatons that could possibly use such energy efficiency but for now, another issue has popped up.
We have finally reached the source of Anomalous Signal #P-G. Thomas has told us to be wary of such contact with whatever may be there but we shall send a proxy message for such matters.
PLAN OF ACTION: Expand south. Let's not annoy our potential acquaintances by stealing their land. Not yet, at least.

PROPOSAL: A non-aggression pact. We will not interfere with you and you will not interfere with us.
ATTACHED: We have discovered many of these artifacts we deem 'Perfectly Generic Objects'. Due to said anomalous genericness, they are incredibly easy to recreate as long as you have one of them. Use this as you will.

The Expedition, in the name of His Majesty, greets the gentlemen of Petrol. The Commandant especially commends them, due to the ruthlessness they all show against the natives in this land.
The Expedition as a whole seems to have keen interest for the trade of weapons, and the Commandant himself is at least favorable to the idea of fighting against some poor devils so long as the Petrol Cannibals agree to assist in combat against enemies of the Crown (and thus the enemies of the Expedition).

The Commandant would ultimately agree, much to the chagrin of certain members beneath him who look down on any and all diplomacy.
Now the question of whom the cannibals are referring to fight against may come to haunt the Commodore but for now he has taken to prepare a gift of a cleaned aboginial skull, gathered from the campaign in Queensland, to the Petrol clan's leader.

Wouldn't it have been 55-12=43 for the conflict when we fought each other on the land of PNG as we aren't fighting over water? Then after I win the battle in spill over into his lands at a half rate of 21 as I'll then be doing my first attack over water. Because if not then all of my conflict with POC will half all my rolls which seems stupid and I'll be bound to lose.

If I'm wrong, defend from POC and attack only on the island i have a foot hold on so my roll isn't halfed. If I'm right straight up attack him.

I'd argue that it's mostly because of my bonus in Free Water Travel and you having to island hop across tons of little islands things ended up like they did. My focus all game has been in defending and taking little islands and free water travel at the cost of not having many bonuses to dice, so I assume the QM used that as a reference for how I want to attack and which battles I want to defend.
If it makes you feel better you don't have any penalty for the islands you just crossed anymore. So even when you say you'll lose that's really just up to the dice, but since you have a better bonus I think the odds are in your favor because of the huge land mass of WNG-PNG I'll need to go through if I want any hope of winning.

>If it makes you feel better you don't have any penalty for the islands you just crossed anymore
It seems I do, because I had that penalty for all of my previous roll where we fought on the large island, which I was already on. I'm at a constant 50% strength at you and there's no way I can win. And I will lose, I had the second best roll possible and it got me 9 provinces. There is no way I can beat you at all if the 50% is taken from the initial attack rather than when I cross the water.
>>
>>6099871
>I'm at a constant 50% strength at you
For this turn yes and and also the turns you go into a new water crossing, but not the turns after those. It was just very unlucky for you that the penalty for water crossing happened when you got the second best roll in the game. You no longer should have that penalty for the water crossings you've already crossed after this turn.

THOUGHTS AND NOTES: I am so glad we are not in the middle of a conflict! It sounds like there's a lot of bizarre going-ons from the territories we directly border. In other news, we have built the first automaton! Sadly, it is too busy calling one of our slaves 'nigger' to actually bother doing anything productive. So it's a lot more human than we think!
PLAN OF ACTION: North! It's been working so far!

I graciously invite you to a non aggression pact so we dont need to waste warriors in the outback between us. There are fresher meats to feast upon.
>>
>>6099881
The issue is if I don't get the roll again then I can't do anything to you and just have to wait for you to finally conquer me. I don't see a path to victory for me without repeated insane rolls. Also what would have happened if you rolled higher that me? Would I still have taken the malus despite us having a land border?
>>

SCROLL FROM BLESSED PRIEST, FATHER THOMAS
DATE: 10/10/2024
RESPONSE: War is not something we are interested in. For now, we shall accept due to our main interest being in expansion and discovering artifacts. Have this perfectly generic object as payment for you not bothering us in the future.
Do not ask what color nor shape it is. Even God doesn't know. We just know the anomalous artifact exists.
>>
>>6100002
>The issue is if I don't get the roll again then I can't do anything to you and just have to wait for you to finally conquer me.
I personally see it a bit differently. Even if the crossing penalty stops you for a turn you'd be able to cross the ocean without the same penalty next turn, so I'd have to blitz you and try my best in not turning this into a war of attrition (since after the first turn you'd not have the penalty anymore and my free ocean travel bonus would be useless).
But if I'm wrong and you need to actually conquer the tile/island to stop the malus, then I'm guessing you'd need to have and keep the Free Water Travel I have in order to negate the malus in full. Which if true more than makes up for how painful it felt to expand through the islands from Fiji lmao
>Also what would have happened if you rolled higher that me? Would I still have taken the malus despite us having a land border?
I assume we would just fight normally then without you getting the malus since you wouldn't be the one attacking in that situation.
>>
>>6100029
>Even if the crossing penalty stops you for a turn you'd be able to cross the ocean without the same penalty next turn
No, it's the first crossing each turn. So this malus never goes away for our battles. No matter what I'm at 1/2 power against you, you are equal to two nations.
>I assume we would just fight normally then without you getting the malus since you wouldn't be the one attacking in that situation.
So if I got less that you last roll then I wouldnt get halfed? What if I got 18 to your 12? It means I'd beat you, but because I beat you it'd get halfed, which means you get a higher score, which means I get my full bonus and I beat you. It's a loop, it's broken.

>>
>>6100035
>No, it's the first crossing each turn.
I'm mostly getting what I'm saying from the "subsequent crossings do not", which I think means once you cross and/or try to cross in water travel you won't have the malus anymore for that specific crossing from then on.
>What if I got 18 to your 12?
I'm assuming you'd push me out of the land areas, but you wouldn't be able to go across the water until next turn, and your malus wouldn't be there for that specific crossing anymore for your.

>>6100048
I kneel.
>>
>>6100068
It talks about subsequent in relation to the first crossing each turn, rules as written means the malus doesn't go away.
>>
>>6100076
If that's true then you're right, but I thought that "First Crossings in a turn halves the get value, subsequent crossings do not" meant that the crossing malus wasn't there after you traveled/tried to travel through water towards a specific place once. I mean you're right you can't roll again in the same turn, making "subsequent crossings do not" impossible in the same turn so I assumed it was meant for every turn after the first crossing was made in a prior turn.
Although QMOP ultimately has the final say, so we can just wait for the QM to clarify things.

Grave news. the Ayys, on which so much hope had been placed, have been delayed. Push back the Emus, retake what lands migth be retaken.

Inexorably, the foul birds come at us. Despite all our valiant efforts, despite all our preparations; it seems as though the foe they faced upon the mainland has faded away and we are left to face the full wrath of the Malignant Emus. We must keep fighting them, buying the time that is needed by driving them back.

Unless.

There are some who speak of giving in to the power of the One Film. Of gaining the strength needed to save our people through the most desperate of means. It is too risky, they say. It is too demeaning. It turns us into that which we most wholeheartedly decided to oppose.

And yet.

Whilst hope remains, we must reach for it; fight with every last gasp and dying breath to remain what we are and where we are.

Upon the Southern Continent, a great mega-war has broke out, with a clear victor yet to be seen. The Eco-Villains have achieved the first kill of the game, casting the drop-bear republic to a fate worse than chlamydia.

In the East, the great yellow menace ruthlessly hunts down the pirate republic that once ruled the seas. Perhaps they should escape while they still have the chance...

Meanwhile, the vicious Emu-Kiwi struggle has taken a turn with the Ayys joining the fight, and now two powers with strong bonuses seem poised to invade the continent. Time will tell if any one power can claim a region bonus in time to resist...

<><><><>

Saying the situation was bad for the Pirate Republic of Oceania would be an understatement. Morale had plummeted, there was constant faction backstabbing, and the self styled Free Corsairs were now driven back to Fiji and New Caledonia, the places where it all began. The latter of these islands would be presented by the Council of Eight (now down to four) as a bargaining chip for any foreign power's assistance, in an act of desperation. The Council had been stretched thin after the Warlord Republic had driven them back. The Quartermaster didn't fare much better, having lost an eye and gained less sleep with each passing day. The Captain was rarely seen out of his quarters since the loss of Neptune's Trident, a wound to his pride that ran deep.

However, this would change after a swelling of their ranks from the most unlikely of places - the tourists.

Men, and even women, from all around the world would be enamored by the lifestyle and romanticism of being a buccaneer. While reality was much different, the swelling of numbers (and the money they brought, more specifically) would stem the tide of the Horde.
Indeed, the people that were once seen as an afterthought at best were now granting the pirates what could possibly be the turning of the tide in this war. The irony wasn't lost on the Captain when he heard the news.

South of Cape Ottoway. the Emus are met by an advancing force of... Emus. Tamed and saddled, broken and mounted these birds are; the riders on their backs armed with weapons of gleaming Dwarf-craft steel and shimmering Ayydevices. Bearing down upon the feral kin, the foul birds; the leader of the Fellowship force rises his hand and speaks aloud!
Arise, arise! Spears shall be shaken, shield shall be splintered, a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now, ride! Ride for ruin and the world's ending!

(Attack the Emus with everything we have)

Whilst the isles of New Caledonia lie independent of us both between our domains, we hold no grounds nor reason nor method to make war upon you. So long as such a state remains between us, we can make this agreement; and should upon any whole or partial acquisition you immediately pass lands on these isles into our hands, we would hold to it still. But should you ever yourself move upon the isles of New Caledonia with intent to hold them, we would have to consider such an act a fore-omen of a war to come.

And whilst Yellow has a +10 bonus, the pirate's own roll gives them 12, and they get Fiji's +1 given back to them, tying their scores for no direct territorial change in the conflict.

(The above is under the assumption that the Emus declaring the single word 'Enough' as their action doesn't actually count as an attack against the Ayys, who are only defending+passing everything else to the pirates, whilst I'm actually actively attacking the Emus this turn with a score of 15+10 bonus against their roll of 8)

War condition steady. Imminent end of hostilities with petrols expected. Total eradication engaged.

CAUTION: BEF represent significant threat. Turtles non-responsive. Elimination of one enemy combatant does not eliminate all threats to Pine Gap Containment Facility.

CONDITION: Continue war footing. Attack and eliminate Petrols. Spills into the NT. Continue reducing containment procedures on primary subject. This war must end.

CAUTION: Reduction of containment resources represents major risk of containment breach! Approaching containment field limit!

In regards to the fucky water rules, I wasn't certain (and still aren't) what interpretation of the rules and player instructions would be fair to the attacker and defender (or the attacker and attacker). If someone can describe a logic sequence that is fair for everybody, that would be great

I believe the PRO using diplomacy is the correct way to play/win the game, although it came a bit late this time. The smart move (imo) would have been attacking/negotiating into QLD once it became obvious that YM couldn't be beaten. In either case, PRO has exhausted all their diplomatic capital and is almost certainly a goner next turn

This may be the Pirate's last hurrah. They sail, without the fear of death.

>spoiler
Yeah, hindsight is 20/20. I probably should've tried to ally with the BEF or the Eco Villains. Maybe I should've invaded them, or allied with the Emus and invaded the Hobbits, but I didn't want to gang up or bully a weaker player than myself. I'm paying for that line of thought, kek

As for something that might be more fair, maybe instead of halving the roll it could just be a -10 roll or something similar for the first time someone tries to cross the waters, and nothing else.

<><><><>

The honeymoon period for the pirates directly after the recruitment of the tourists wouldn't last, and their inexperience would lead to many preventable mistakes in the ensuring battles. Selling territory would grant relief through foreign assistance, but this would only slow their inevitable fall.

This did not change the strange glee and celebration that marked the last days of the Pirate Republic, as many would fight to the death in a last cheer. Those that didn't would sail towards Polynesia, Hawaii, or the Caribbean, something the Quartermaster would do, where the Pirates had a firmer hold on the region. The dwindling League of Eight would join the ranks of those who fought to the last, fighting for their ideals to the last man in a doomed war.

The whereabouts of the Captain, now dubbed "Captain Goldbeard" for his acts in Oceania, are unknown. But it is widely believed he sailed to South America.

But for the Pirates, this was their last raid within the region of Oceania, and their final journey to Davy Jones' Locker.

<><><><>

Thus ends the story of the Pirate Republic of Oceania, their life, struggles, and final defeat, a small ragtag bunch originating from a branch of the Free Corsairs that was able to consolidate a large amount of islands in the region.

Attack the autist alliance of pinecucks and the diary club

I imagine myself in Australia, leading my horde. Our mission is to stop pinecuck dogs from advancing. We mow down pinecuck dogs but they keep coming. I shoot pinecuck dogs but I run out of ammo so I draw my sword and begin slaughtering pinecucks, since pinecucks are way more psychially inferior to me, I slay them by dozens. Then I get shot, but I didn't fall, I kept fighting. Then shot again and again. Pinecucks were shooting me from a distance like the cowards they are. I lie down, facing up to sky and I see Mell Gibson (MAD MAX) smiling at me, I smile back… Then I woke up, in the outback, my homeland. My dieselmaxxxed brethen gave me a warm welcome to heaven. Forgot Map lol

>> Recap
Much excitement has occurred since round 20. The painful wars across the isles of Melenesia have come to an end with the Yellow Menace sinking the last fleets of the Pirate Republic, and claiming their ocean travel buffs on top of that. The back-and-forth stalemate between Emus and Hobbits has turned in the Fellowship's favour with the timely intervention of the Ayy Empire.

The sentries of Pine Gap came close to seizing the Northern Territory buff, but the Petrol Cannibals made a deal with the devil and invited the Yellows onto the continent - granting them a beachhead for the divinely mandated invasion of Australia.

Fresh off killing the koalas, the Eco-Villains set upon terminating the turtles, nabbing an impressive lead in points with another trophy mounted on their wall. Alas, their lack of a region bonus seems to have finally caught up with them, as more buffed neighbours look to expel them from the East. Their lead may come for naught if they are simply wiped off the map.

With alliances and objectives shifting by the moment, its still hard to say who will emerge the greatest empire in Oceania...

Push full force into Pine Gap.

PingPong the warlord from Chyna, goes to the front and witness the might of The Yellow Menace's military. Victory over Pine Gap is inevitable. But will come next? The Treaty of Yellow Cannibalism has been signed, which promised NT for The Yellow Menace and WA for the Petrol Cannibals. Whilst we are promised the worst of the two territories, it does not matter, the greatest prize is the enduring friendship with the Petrol Cannibals.

Looking to the south east of Australia PingPong can't help but wonder what will happen after the fall of the Eco Villains, something he is looking forwards
to immensely due to the insults sent his way. It seems the Ayys will be penned in by the BEF and the Hobbits, trapped in NSW, he wonders how the diplomatic situation will evolve and if any will ask for his aid.
