Welcome back.

We're back. Sorry for the long hiatus but life got a bit hectic there.

Rules are simple: Votes are tallied every hour, with whatever course of action being the most popular being the course of action taken. Write ins are encouraged and non-mutually exclusive votes will be combined if possible.

When a roll is called for, roll however many D100 are specified. 5- is a 'crit fail' and generally means something bad is about to happen. 95+ is a 'crit success' and generally means something good just happened. a 'crit success' trumps a crit fail. User input on both will be taken into consideration.

For a short summary for the new and to recap:

You are Alex. A newly minted trainer and camping enthusiast just starting out on your journey at the age of seventeen after your father lost his job in order to help pay the bills. On the road, you met Fie, the Fire Gym Leader, Gareth a novice Aura Guardian on pilgrimage and Holly, a runaway heiress using a pseudonym. You've also made enemies of Team Green a group of violent, radical activists looking to abolish pokemon training.

Recently, Fie returned to her gym for the time being.

Last time, Fluffy learned Body Press and Cosmic Power, you reflected on the Golden Rule, you got to know Martha a bit more and you got in a double battle with a pair of triathletes.

“Rascal, comeback!” You say, recalling him. “Volta, you’re in.” You say, even as you bring him back to swap her in.

"Lanturn, Confuse Ray!" The first swimmer orders.

"Dodrio, Tri-Attack on Meowstick!" The second orders.

"Checkers, Protect!" Holly orders.

The Confuse Ray misses Rascal as you recall him, releasing Volta in his place while Checkers summons a barrier that stops Dodrio's attack cold.

Volta stretches as she appears, before fixing Dodrio with an intense look as she crouches ready to spring.

"Volta, Thunder Fang Dodrio!" You order.

"Checkers, Psybeam Lanturn!" Holly orders.

"Lanturn, Whirlpool Meowstic!" The first swimmer orders, shifting tacks.

"Let's go Dodrio, Tri-Attack Luxray!"

Dodrio gets its attack in before Volta lands Thunder Fang on Dodrio, dropping it into the red in one go and leaving Dodrio paralysed into the bargain.

Lanturn meanwhile is simply knocked out by Checkers' Psybeam just leaving Dodrio up and shaking from both the damage Volta just dealt it and paralysis.

The two swimmers trade looks as Lanturn is recalled before they both hold up their hands.

"Good battle." They say as the second returns his Dodrio.

"Good battle." You agree, stepping forward to shake their hands. "Man, I thought we were done when I saw that Marshtomp, but what was Lanturn's problem?" You ask.

"He recently evolved." The swimmer explains. "I've been doing some training with him to get him back into shape and I thought we were there, but he's never performed well under pressure."

"Well, keep at it, he'll get there." You reply. "Maybe mention that problem to the nurse when you go to the pokemon center, though. Just in case."

"I think I just might." The swimmer replies.

You part there with a round of goodbyes then continue on northward.

It looks like it might be a bit overcast today, but not like it'll storm. With any luck, you ought to be able to make the roadhouse mid afternoon and get some training in or another battle.

That still leaves most of the day for walking though.

You don't really talk too much as you walk, just enough to pass the time, before you finally bow to curiosity and open your pokedex and look to your Mudkip's card entry:

Mudkip\
Ultra Ball
Lvl 10
Sex: Female
Nature:
Ability: Torrent
Training:
Moves:
Tackle
Growl
Water Gun
Mud Slap

Well, that's cool. The females are supposed to be a lot more uncommon than the males.

Now for a name...

You're torn for a minute, before you settle on 'Euphrates' as her name, before you tab out and stow your pokedex and focus on walking.

You make some good progress. It seems like a walking track was recently marked out at the top of the beach, or given an upgrade perhaps.

Either way, there're bollards and an asphalt path for you to walk on and you make good time.

By the time you're thinking about stopping for lunch, you estimate you're only another two hours from the roadhouse.

And it being as nice a day as it is, it'll be easy walking.

You ask the others' opinion and they agree, that you ought to keep going.

Holly's not complaining about her feet being sore either, so her new shoes are working out.

You pass around some trail mix as you walk and before you know it, you can see the roadhouse up ahead.

"Phew... looking forward to a sit down and a hot meal." Martha says as you pick up your pace a bit with the roadhouse before you.

"Yeah, I can agree to that." You say as you hurry along towards the roadhouse.

You're just about to go in though when the door opens and you see stars and feel a burst of pain as it decks you in the face.

"Ah, shit."

You bite back the first half dozen things you want to say, before you take your hands away from your face and spit blood and feel your stomach drop like a rock as you see Fie's dad standing in the doorway, holding the door and wearing an alolan shirt and a bucket hat with a random assortment of fish hooks in it.

"...You alright there?" He asks after a beat, apparently feeling very uncomfortable just then.

This was clearly an accident, because there's nothing fake about the concern you can sense from him or the sudden awkwardness in his stance.

He relaxes fractionally.

"Okay, good. Good." He says, before clearing his throat.

"I don't say this very often, but Wendy set me straight. Good work out on South Crescent." He says.

It's clearly an olive branch for how he acted the other day and you don't need the ability to sense aura to know that he's both embarrassed and that this is probably the closest thing to an apology that you can reasonably expect from him.

"Aerial Ace!" You order.

"Heh, Machoke, Smack Down." Fie's dad replies.

Machoke gets the move off and scores a solid hit on Rascal, but in return, Rascal absolutely nails Machoke and in the aftermath, their auras are both in the red.

Fie's dad looks just as taken aback as you are by this turn of events.

This is going to be a remarkably short battle and it all comes down to who speaks first, you feel, even as Rascal hauls himself up after hitting the ground from Smack Down.

"Peck!" You shout, urgently.

"Rock Slide!" Fie's dad says at the same moment, but your order was both faster and more concise and Rascal flutters forward and lands a solid hit on Machoke, dropping it to its knees as the first pebbles of its attack begin to fall, before petering out altogether as Machoke catches itself before it completely hit the ground, puffing.

Not even fifteen seconds have passed.

Hell, people coming out to watch are bewildered to see the battle already over as Martha declares you the victor.

"Well bugger me." Fie's dad says, shaking his head as he recalls his Machoke. "That was a quick one."

"Yeah, I wasn't expecting that to be quite as decisive as it was." You admit, taken aback yourself.

"Just means that you're training that Braviary right." Fie's dad opines. "Anyway, that was a good match. I'll get Machoke patched up andbe off. See you in Redmont sometime." He says with a casual wave, before striding through the bewildered crowd back into the pokemon centre.
