Previous Threads: https://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=The%202nd%20Primarch%20Quest_The presence of villains of the lowest of character, the slave taking raiders descended from the very worst of the old Aeldari empire, have once again emerged from the gloom to torment the children of mankind. New Varro had been found through the efforts of the league of Celestial Explorers, the world whose people who had long found shelter within the mist and fog swept valleys of Shangrala, whose stolen sons and daughters had fought and given their lives in the wars against the native tyrants of your home. And it had been found to still be predated upon by the thrall takers of the sadists with hearts twisted and withered by cruelty. One of the enemies of not only humanity, but all gentle natured races populating the stars. They had been tracked to one of that cruel world's neighboring planets, a fellow death world, that those who first looked upon it described in poetry as the "Fanged Cauldron the devours all hope", a seething, acidic mire that churned with the rising and falling of metallic spires that seemed like the fangs of some great country devouring beast. It was in this Hellish bog that the Aeldari raiders hid themselves away and took their prisoners from New Varro and nearer worlds. As they had once tried to do upon fair Shangrala. You knew this hideaway was a waystation of sorts, before they would return with their harvest of innocents to the darker depths of the webway. And knowing this, and knowing thus that they would have made a shield around themselves with their captured victims and playthings, you knew that even being given the reins of command of all available imperial forces on this mission of slaver eradication, that you could not simply assault their fortresses burrowed deep in the Cauldron's ever bubbling, ever shifting terrain. An Orbital bombardment to test the new line of star ship armaments, as Tao Dandan had suggested, could simply not be carried out until the captives were saved. Similarly, an armored rain and crawling advance of tanks and squadrons of fighter jets, would also put the innocent victims in harms way, which Dai Niu admitted he had not accounted for in his plans, a lesson to the young recruits for your legion that even veterans of war can overlook key details in a battleplan. And Liberty's suggestion to lure the raiders into a trap, was too risky as those who stayed behind to watch the slave pens may flee into the webway with their captives when they realize the doom of their compatriots. No, the most efficient means to save those lost souls of New Varro, is the same method you have used to great effect on tyrants across worlds and stars. Infiltration, followed by a swift, clean decapitation strike upon the local leaderships of these stellar bandits. Sowing Chaos, before striking a decisive and felling blow with the army under your command.Cont
>>6184790Preying upon these blackguards like the fog panther does, emerging from the mist, dragging one of their number away and vanishing once again uncaring of any retaliation sent your way.Hence, you will deploy a small number of the Brothers of the Panther, New Varro Volunteers, Shuni Bushwhackers, Sheowl Rangers, and your own space marines, leaving the variety of soldiers and warriors at your command in orbit but beyond the range of any sensor arrays the villains may be employing, waiting for the signal to launch their own assault. This force shall be further divided into smaller hunting parties, transported near the each of the strongholds hosting the curs who dare to impede another's freedom and make them into slaves, and will, simultaneously launch precision strikes upon the leaders controlling this band of savages and brigands. And then, the survivors of these attacks will face the full brunt of the wrath of the Carp Scaled Dragon and his armies."Attention passengers" Kanzeon most melodic voice rang through her hangar bay "We are approaching the target planetoid, in moments, we'll enter the effective launch range for your craft to reach their pre selected landsite. I wish you success on your mission, but I don't need to, considering whose capable hands you're under command of. Kill a few of those bastards for me, my scholar"You smirk, as the whole troop transport abrupt with cheers and oaths sworn about how many Aeldari raiders each soldier will cut down and how they'll kill them, the boasts turning from believable to the implausible rapidly, with Chul-Moo declaring he'll kill one of the slavers by swinging another's broken body at them like a flail while one Shuni Bushwhacker declares he'll put a single bullet through the eyes of four different enemies. The New Varro irregulars, remain deathly silent, free of their usual blithe and carefree attitude, their joyful eyes turned sheer cold and flint like as the final preparations for launch are carried out by Kanzeon, with such precision and rapidity, it is almost as easy as it is for her to "Breath" and cycle the air through the various hallways and compartments of her titanic body. You close your eyes, empty your mind and center yourself, cycling a brief glimmer of Hysh through the Sword of Love as you hone and sharpen its edge and polish its surface. Today would be a day of much bloodshed._"What do you mean our employer is dead, I though you incubi would lay down your lives in the defense of their sworn lords?"Iysvan of the scarred web hummed, purring dangerously as the blank stare of the principled warrior stared into him, sensing the outrage and malice radiating from the trained, expert killer "Isn't this shameful, to admit that Lord Ezqir has fallen victim to treachery beneath your..."Cont
>>6184791"Not treachery" The incubus growled, as the blood red lenses of their helmet "A monkeigh""An escaped slave, truly, you are a failure of" The began before the Incubi stepped closer, towering over them Iysvan had taken care not to approach Ezqir's bodyguards for fear of losing his own life if they sensed his ambition to replace the far to lax and unambitious Lord, but he was certain none towered quiet so large"I am no incubus, the owner of this armor fought well, honorably, and died with dignity" The voice purred, as the lenses, once crimson, flashed gold and then briefly silver, as a warp presence bled out of the towering, shadowy figure as Iysvan recoiled, reached for their side arm, and saw their own headless body pull their favored, personalized Splinter Pistol, Spider's kiss "The same cannot be said of you, petty schemer, but your underlings and Ezqir's remaining body guards, will find both he and you dead, by the others orders" The giant in stolen armor explained "And do not concern yourself for your cruel witch of a daughter, she proceeds you to welcome you to whatever hell awaits all of you and all your repugnant kind"But Iysvan knew nothing more, his final thought wondering how a barbaric thing like a Monkeigh could speak such fluent and beautiful Aeldari..._"I should've listened to the Beast Master, this stretch of space has become too treacherous to haunt. Didn't think you were real...Skinthief." The pale skinned, red haired beauty hiding a serpent's nature sighed, completely at peace as she lay dying on the ground, having fallen directly into a trap laid by Shuni Bushwhackers and New Varro Gunslingers, surviving long enough for you to interrogate her as you returned from your own successful assassination of the leader and their duplicitous second in command. Her own underlings lay broken around her, their armor sloughing off with the flesh from their bones as they sunk into the hungry mud of this deadly world, while she lay upon a slab of jutting metal, legs crippled and torso nearly separated from her lower half entirely from the extreme saturation of fire she had fallen victim to."Stollaire has crawled from the grave once more?" You hum and the serpent smirks as her eyes glaze over and become as glass "I see, I'll need to bury him deeper next time we meet""Guessing you successfully headhunted those no good sons of bitches" Redrum redmond snarls, pulling off the bandana he had wrapped around his face "Die like any other mangy mutt. Wish Curly coulda been here to see this bitch give up the ghost""Hear hear my friend, this deviless was most deserving of this sorry end we've met her with, may her soul know torments as her victims have know at her hands" One of the Shuni warriors spits, her handsome face disfigured by a plasma burn "Where to shall we exact vengeance for the meek, Temple Toppler?" Cont
>>6184794"We'll rendezvous with the other hunting parties" You explain, as the distant sounds of fighting reach your sharp, well attuned ears as the fortress you had just escaped from descends into anarchy amid a dozen grabs and scrambles for power and authority. "And then? We call in the cavalry" Redmond asked as he rolled himself a cigarette, barely affected by the vile fumes rising from the bog digesting the dead Aeldari and their wargear "Hit these sonsofbitches hard? or do we go bounty chasing again? Who you kill in that black tower, anyhoo, gold-eyes?""Two villains whose names shall go unremembered and pass from mortal kenning swiftly" You answer as the Shuni bushwhacker nods "Plucked from their false wings, they fall like any other maggot with ambitions to be a butterfly" They hum "Shall we leave this mire, before we join the dead in this slurry""Yeah, Red Rum, Gold-Eyes, lets get the hell out of here for we become supper for this reeking mud!" Another New Varro man whistles sharply as you check your coms and grin pantherishly, flashing your teeth like fangs as you receive, one by one, reports of successful assassinations carried out on the respected and feared veterans and officers of this slave taking tribe, who could in theory have regained order and commanded loyalty from the now leaderless troops.Who do you have lead the conventional assault on the Aeldari' raiders positions, Lieren?>Dai Niu, bring in the Steel birds, iron turtles and steel giants and crush the slavers beneath treads and heel, while your covertly free and rescue the slaves>Give Nikephoros the reins of command, and have him bring in the Creti Gravewardens, Vishnu Screamers, and the Relieved in the imperial army, all of whom are experienced in fighting in conditions such as these.>Give Qian Xiaowen the chance to prove their worth as a general, and allow him his choice of forces to deploy while you lead your space marines.>Yin Delun, who is expected to soon replace his ailing father Yin Jie, has been trained by his uncle the black general. I also think it may be wise to take the Incubi Gear for some reverse engineering for our own uses because thats' some great tech. At the very least we can use it to listen into communications among Incubi whom are nigh always beside VIPs. Hey Malal here.Sorry for the long wait, I'll try to call the vote and write later tonight. Away from my PC at the moment, so I'm posting this from my phone. If I don't call the vote today, it's cause I passed out or my computer's machine spirit decided to rebel after i got back to it.
Calling the vote now, sorry for making you wait a bit longer. I clonked out and had to cook some late dinner.Anyways>>6186562Thanks for gathering up the votes, always appreciate it XD.So Lieren will give Yin Delun, the Future lord of the Yin family the chance to prove if he has inherited his uncle's tactical excellence and tenacity in battleWriting now
Yin Delun stood, a fine military man now, whose noble origins were obvious the manner which he held himself and the handsome features on a face that seemed carved from porcelain. His black hair was hanging loosely, in a style mimicking one you favored during your time as a general in the rebellion. It was due to the cautious nature of his sire, Lord Yin Jie, that he did not bare the over many scars from the wars and conflicts since the liberation of Long-Jia, having kept him by his war table as an advisor or serving Yin Lie in a subordinate role. But, though he was not as battle tested as some of the greatest in the new generation of generals, in his eyes you recognize something as familiar as the back of your own hand, the same fire of zeal that ever burns in the chest of his uncle, the legendary black general. "Sir Delun" You greet, turning over a see through glass filled with freshly brewed white tea around in your palm as you welcomed him into the stilt raised habitat you've taken as a general's tent "It has been too long since our last meeting, far too long since you and I have exchanged words, come, sit, there is much to discuss. How is your young wife?""She yet weeps for the uncouth weeds of her line, that were cut down during the revolt, but I've spoken with her and know she mourns the men they may have been, without the Yan's fang sunk into the hides of my northern cousins" He answers professionally "She intends to name our first son after Zihao, but our first child shall be a daughter. Her mother is already coddling the babe before they're even born into the world""And if it were not for the current owner of the six fanged spear being the emperor, she or her mother would have asked for it to be returned to the hands of your let unborn son" You chuckle, having read what Delun left unsaid"They retain their pride, despite their shame" He smirked "But she is agreeable, our married life is amicable. May I ask how you and your wife who walked one day from the depths of the bone devouring forest are getting along""Like clouds and the sky, and fish and the sea" You lovingly muse, as you pour Delun a cup "The love I hold for her is only matched for the love I have for my fellow man, as a whole. I hope your marriage may be as blissful as mine, young general, but I did call you from orbit, to this misbegotten land and its hungry mires, to gossip about our wives and share husbandly wisdom with you""I expected as such, though I am much curious about how the bond of giants such as you and Lady Kanzeon differs from those of men of lesser stature. There is much rumors about how you have sired so many sons already grown into men...Ah I forget myself" He cheerfully answers, revealing that despite the fire in his eyes, he is still the Delun you knew when you first met him boisterously speaking in his lord father's placeCont
>>6187397"It is a complicated matter, and do not let her hear you speak of such fanciful gossip" You chuckle good-naturedly as you and he both raise up your glasses "But, to chop nails and slice iron, I've summoned you down to this hell-pit, to take charge of the armies presently being transported to the surface"Delun choked on a mouthful of tea"Truly?" He rasped, wiping the spat out tea off his chest and the metal wrough table between the two of you"Truly. Your father and uncle are both getting on in their years, and I know soon you will take Jie's place as Yin patriarch. And like Lord Dai, as stalwart of a man as Yin Lei is, His hair is more grey than black now. The time when he is no longer capable of leading from the van or even directing from the rear, is faster approaching than most, even the man himself, realize" You answer honestly, nodding your head "He has trained you, taught you all he knows. There are few generals I trust more than the Black General""Without his expertise and friendship, some say the rebellion would've been a much longer, bloodier affair" He says, a sad looking flashing through his eyes, bringing up his father's approaching death has upset him somewhat "But I am no Unbroken Thunder's Howl, Lieren""You need not be. Make a name for yourself as Yin Delun. Forge a legacy that the southern and northern Yin Branches may both be proud of. Raise your banner, and march forward to a future where the old enmities and grudges of past wars may be washed away like blood or ink" You answer sternly, swirling your tea around "This is will be your first command. Your father is too far away to impede it or argue for another to take the dangerous role of leader against these foul slavers from beyond the faintest glimmer of the stars. Your uncle is not present for his renown to overtake your authority and take the mantle of generalship from graciously. There is only Yin Delun, beneath the banner of white clouds"He sipped at his tea, contemplative, wondering if he had the makings of a general as fine as his storied uncle."And when white clouds clear, the possibilities of what are behind them are near limitless. Yes. You will do finely, if your uncle has imparted even a fraction of his tenacity and tactical genius into you through his mentorship. Take the reins of command, and lead the armies of Long-Jia in purging this world of Tyrannical filth. I shall lead my sons from Terra, for I am the most informed of how they are best utilized in battle, but in all other things, it is up to your discretion. Examine the forces under your command, and decide how best to employ them" You continue on"And when shall we attack?" He askes clumsily, not yet finding his footing as a leaderCont
>>6187399"When you decide the time is right, General Yin. Until that time, I shall be here, drinking my tea and day dreaming of wading through burbling streams with my wife" You answer in jest, and wave him away, knowing despite the uncertainty and self doubt that is all but consuming him, Yin Delun is the right choice for command. Today will be remembered, though what tales they shall tell of it and the general who subjugated the slavers, is yet to be seen_<Account of the March Through Hell's Cauldron, Given by a Veteran of the Black Jade Reunification Campaigns, Interviewed during the Great Crusade by Remembrancer <Data Missing, archivist researching the cause>"Back then, Yin Delun wasn't thought of too highly in the imperial army. Yin Jie was never respected as much as his brother, Yin Lei, for good reason. Yin Lei, and do not let this leave this humble abode of mine, could have easily bested a number of Lieren's brothers. He was the greatest of generals, and still without peer in many ways. He was a man grown, he had children, and had, in theory, served for a number of the previous wars. Fighting more terrible than what my grandchildren know under the lord of Terra's reign. But he was never on the frontline, never given the responsibility of leadership. He was, as we mocked him then, a crane standing atop the cypress, fearful for the sanctity of its wings and dryness of its feet"*The aged soldier reached for a medal pinned to the uniform, rubbing it fondly between his thumb and finger, along a patina formed by oils of his hands*"And at a time, we wondered if the primarch we were blessed to know, had gone mad from swamp gas. Yin Delun, looked uncertain, queasy when he began to give his orders. Pale around the face, like half a corpse. I was sure I'd die in that horrible cauldron. But, he was our general, and we followed his orders. The officer I served under was adamant that we did. I'd never fought Aeldari before. But I'd heard the horror stories. Seen what they did when they were on our side. Carys of the far sight had shown just how lethal the reedy not men could be in a fight. And we were sent against their sadistic hearted cousin, under the command of an untested general"*The interview lifted up an augmented hand and laughed loudly*Cont
>>6187402"Oh I kowtowed and scraped for hours after the fighting was done. It took days, hard, long days. But we lost more men to the wily bog than those kidnappers. Yin Delun, wasn't like his father. Nor was he like his uncle. A crane, with pure white feathers, we called him. A spring cloud rushing to the meet the storm, we laughed at first. But, that banner of his, splattered with flesh melting mud, burned from the strange energies of dark light and sear with plasma and las scorching, once pure white, was tattered and always at the front. He was no black General, how could he be. But as he lead us through the muck and mire, he did not falter or waste a single man's life. He finished it in a month. And that was accounting for the enemy reinforcements and the strange, agonized corpse monstrosities they unleashed upon us. Yin Lei, was like thunder, loud, repetitive, striking until even a mountain would shatter, Unbroken. But Delun"*The Soldier flicked open one of his cybernetic fingers an lit an lho stick with the flame the appendage produced""He was relentless. He did not pause his march. Once he declared "And I shall drown the last with my own hands, if I must", he kept us on the move, moving across the ever changing face of the cauldron, in rapid, lightning strikes that even the Lai skyriders struggled to keep up with. And that's when, when I was camping with some of my men, I dubbed him the "Relentless Lightning's Roar", and who came stomping out of the brush, but Delun himself! Our Ashen General! And I was glad to have him when the fighting started, even got to fight with the Giants...sorry, I mean the Adeptus Astartes, that day"*Note, this soldier is the fifth to claim to be the source of General Yin's epithet*"Ya know, he refused cosmetic surgery. He was in good enough graces to get it quicker than any of us, could've flown back to those lotus ships in the sky, and looked as unmarred as when he first stepped into the cauldron's heat. But he refused. The acidic burns along his face, arms, that knotted his chest. He kept them. Made them a badge of honor. I'll go to my grave with these cauldron's burns, I swear to you that, young miss"_"He's actually drowning him. Though he was just spitting hot air when he said he would" Red Rum whistled, impressed as Yin Delun, insists upon executing the last hold out of slaver resistance on the cauldron, but pushing the Aeldari who had shot his flag bearer in a particularly acidic pool of water, ignoring the skin it steamed from his arms as he held the stronger man under the surface, having bested him in single combat, as the few raiders that had survived with the last of this outpost, were made to kneel before a larger path of flesh eating march, a rifleman behind each, waiting for their order to put a single bullet in the back of their heads.Cont
>>6187404If there was one praise to be said of these ill natured brutes, it was that they did not squirm or plead for mercy, but rather closed their eyes and waited for their end."It was a swift end, painless as well" You answer "But I'm sure it'll be a sight none of his soldiers will ever forgot. Yin Delun has proven himself a master of the ceaseless advance, and shown how he differs from his much more greatly renowned uncle""And now! Friends!" Yin Delun, voice hoarse and higher pitched from the pain he endured to end his opponent in the manner he swore he would "New Varro is free from the shadow of these black hearted curs! Let the Cauldron boil their bones, and let us, friends and brothers all, leave this reflection of hell, to greet our cousins beneath the same sun!"You clapped as the thunderous cheer that the soldiers, even some of your own sons, responded to with gusto and triumph, rippled for miles across the Cauldron's bogs. And now that the Slavers are dealt with, How do you approach the people of New Varro, Lieren?>Officially, as a minister and official of the Long-Jian empire, returning their lost friends and family home.>As your father's son, a primarch bringing light and unity to them and pulling them from the lonely dark of ignorance>Contact them remotely first through transmissions and speak to their leaders, so as not to frigthen them by suddenly blotting out the sun with Kanzeon's mass.>By disguising yourself as a drifter, and testing their leaders and seeing if returning the refugees and reuniting New varro with wider humanity is ALL that needs to be done today.>Write inYin "Total Drukhari Death" Delun

I have a few questions i'd like to ask Malal to confirm some details we'd know in story as far as i know but i think would be good information too have in general. It'd be great if Malal can confirm some of these details. 1) How far from home in New Varro travel scheme wise? Local cluster/sublight travelable or in need of Warp Travel?2) Given four Primarchs have access to the Gold Dragon's Path and we chat with magnus here and there do we know if any brothers have had Astartes dropped off? 3) In terms of combat capacity where would you rank Lieren among the known brothers?4) Have we noticed any interesting developments among our Aeldari Hosts?5) Where does our equipment stand when compared to Aeldari gear or standardised Imperial? Do we get many Aeldari visitors etc?6) https://youtu.be/kjaztR4LNuk this is just us ain't it lmao7) Without telling us how much have we jumbled the order of things8) More PoV cut aways pls?
>>6188541oh shit and has Lieren put any more thought into the Four Keys to the Ice Cell or Isha? Im try to not loose track of plot threads
>>61885412) Given four Primarchs have access to the Gold Dragon's Path and we chat with magnus here and there do we know if any brothers have had Astartes dropped off? probably not, we got our 300 2nd legion sons because we asked for them and we were in the middle of a war where they were most needed to end it with less casualties. When it comes to P and M, learn not to bug their sons for a while (costs too much in power to be profitable if they are not in danger) ,and A has some civil problems with the population on his planet but nothing that needs a spacmarine to solve it.
>>6188541Since we have find it relatively recently likely some warp travel was done, not too far clearly but New Varro doesn't sound very near either. So far Lieren own recent colonization and exploration was mostly done in Shangrila home system. Is one thing we thought about doing, sending other imperial expeditions to Angron, Perturabo and Magnus. It does require some prep from both sides for establish a temporary Gold Dragon Road/Path. And the emperor might be running around with the initial stage of the Great Crusade at this point. So very unlikely.Lieren is quite strong, both a warrior, a psykerist and a general. And also an engineer and administrator, one charismatic and gregarious. His combat experiences are varied, i put him already above Kurze or Lorgar. He will command a strong legion with a strong foundation, and strong bonds both internal and external. I would put Lieren at the level of Sanguinius and Magnus, but not quite. It does need to be said that Magnus, Perturabo and Angron would also change in ranking because they are changing with Lieren around. So far, i would say no. Except the usual, they have settled in really well in Shangrila and the Wanderers are good friends of them. Outside Shangrila they keep their relations with other groups of Eldar Journeymen, such as the one lead by Amatheon across the webway. Right now other Eldars view them with a mix of reactions, but Lieren and Eldrad encounters have avoided anything too bad at least with craftworld ones (many have been kicked by their craftworlds though and are looked down upon). This was further helped by Lieren learning Kurnous shade bow psykerist technique (not the exact name "How Kurnous String his Bow" or a close similar is the exact one), and offering to freely teach it to any craftworld eldar that want to learn it and accept to learn it from him. I do think the golden rays of the Journey have become familiar with them at this point. The descriptions across the quest speak for themselves. The Butcher War and the Expedition of Nuceria might be my favourite. The reaction of the imperial expedition upon looking at the Shangrila militaries is a good example, or the ones of the Olympians bodyguards of Perturabo. Another example recent at that is how much the Long-Jia army that arrived here destroyed the dark eldars forces. In short it can go toe to toe with eldar one, it has in fact adapted or modified eldar technology too. The types of units, ways of warfare and equipment are quite many be a Lai Skyrider or Dai Stalwart, a Vishnu Screamer, a Kang Charger, a Bask Knight and more. Its also more ecological for tech.Sort of, the main difference is that Shangrilans peoples don't dislike using diplomacy, and they are friendly. They will come for you like that if you are a tyrant.Things are so off rails that Hashut was forced out of his hidden hole to play the great game in the open, and Malal out of his slumber.

Calling the vote now, Sorry for the long wait.>>6188540Thank you as always for tallying up the votes for me, XDSo Lieren will first disguise himself as a drifter and test the leaders of New Varo, before approaching its people as the Emperor's son and an official/ minister of the long-jian empire.Writing now. >>61885411: The former, the first raiding party under Cearnarch did stop by New Varro before troubling Shangrala2: Lieren is not aware, but Big E only brought some of the 2nd to Shangrala cause "Oh fuck that's a favored servant of khorne with an angry, evil sapient DoT ship, we need to stop that, immediately" and so the father and son gift exchange happened3: Known to him or just in general? He is very multitalented and multifaceted, and there is a lot that make him a really challenging opponent to have, like casually altering the local reality based on vibes, suddenly adopting the Mein and talents of someone else entirely, and the Carp Style in general and his special eyes...etc So I'd put him pretty high in the rankings, >>6188614 is basically on the money exactly4:Not recently, outside of them getting along with the locals5: It is a mix of DoT humanity and Aeldari tech, combined with Lieren/ Kanzeons own tinkering, so...6: Kind of, Lol7: A lot8: Of course!>>6187522The Yins tend not to employ half measures>>6188815It is in the top favorite of the scenes I've written of this quest still. I had a blast with that whole sequence
After the imperial army except for a small space defense force that took up stations around the New Varo system in preparation for the ships faring those New Varo natives who wished to return alongside a diplomatic force from the various nations and subjects of the Long-Jian empire returned back through the void homeward, and communications had reached the imperial household, there was much ardor and excitement to see families and friends long separated united and to see how much of their Rattleman and Rough rider tall tales were mere exaggeration and what were entirely true of the lethal land. However, heeding your council, Emperor Long-Jia Jinhai demanded both the humanitarians and curious explorers to restrain themselves and await a second signal to begin their journey to the world yet unknown to them all.And that second signal would be you speaking your final judgement of the leaders of the New Varo people, when you declared them to be just and worthwhile rulers or announced them as being tyrants undeserving of living beneath the same stars and heavens as the rest of humanity. But, unlike your travels on Nuceria, you would not be alone beneath the illusionary shroud cast by "The Dragon sheds its scales to walk amongst snakes", for Kanzeon would be accompanying you in a avatar of lesser stature and beauty than the one she usually uses to interact with the wider world and walk at your side, while also keeping an eye on you with her sisters from the orbit of the planet.Like when you donned the identity of aged Kynigos to walk amongst the slaves and gladiators beneath high rider rule, you create a mask to wear so as not to draw over much attention in your investigation and travels.Kanzeon, using historical documents and ancient entertainment videos helps you craft this false personage. A man with no name, but Hunter, face wrinkled, toughed and tanned by the winds and blazing sun to resemble old leather, with habitually squinted eyes and a unshaven beard and wind swept hair the color of prairie grass. Then, with the assistance of Miss Applegate, Red-Rum and Clayton, you dress yourself in the traditional attire of a drifter of the cruel plains and wastelands of their homeland. You decide to don Michah's hat, and wear a shawl called a poncho, colored and designed after the red stone mesas and sandy deserts, and a drab olive green vest covering a white cotton shirt, and tough trousers made of a durable blue material. With a belt holding two holsters for revolvers, a knife and a walking stick made of wraithbone for its psionically reactive properties, your garb for your journey is ready.Kanzeon meanwhile, dresses in the fashion of the aristocracy of New Varro, with a quail egg blue ruffled dress and a hat called a bonnet, shielding the pale, delicate face of her newly crafted avatar.Cont
>>6189761And then, with your preparations complete, you covertly travel to the surface of the world of the ever dependable and loyal gunslingers who have done so much good for the people of Shangrala and beyondThe first night, you spend alone with your wife in a cave, having had to flee inside of it quickly upon the approach of one of the dust storms so often spoken about by the new varro refugees. That you had seen could in fact flay a man in moments, as you had watched occur to one of the Wild Rattles get skinned in the time it takes to blink when you had spent a meager two hours walking through the wilderness"Not the worse weather I have on archive, for a world fit for human habitation at least" Kanzeon hums, her smaller bodied avatar speaking with the familiar bur and accent of the New Varro people "Almost reassuring, hearing that tinny wail. Its shaving away the rock of this cliff we're hunkering under""It is oddly soothing, my love, in the same way the shriek of a dark light lance or the cracking of an ice sheet over a lake is, unearthly yet oddly comforting" You concur as you stir a pot of beans to brew that liquor known as coffee "Once this storm is over, we'll need to head to the nearest population center""Already have a few picked out, the storm isn't strong enough to blind my sensor suite" She answers with a nod as she sidles up next to you and rests her head upon your shoulder, smiling contentedly as the winds howl and rage just a few feet away. And faintly, you can hear the sounds of the unfortunate creatures unable to find shelter or who found their hiding places suddenly torn away from them. While upsetting, the presence of wildlife on a world so hostile to life, is in a way inspiring as it shows just how much resolve life has to continue and endure even in the most dreadful circumstances and harsh environments. And come morning, and the end of the dust storm, you continue your journey to the nearest town beneath the uncomfortable and relentless heat. The whole planet feels like it was placed with in a great, cosmic forge whose flames had been fanned too greatly and were now setting the whole furnace aglow. "This...is the first time I regret giving myself the ability to experience the world as other humans do" Kanzeon pants, soaked in sweat and weary as you lead her gently by her delicate hand "How can you stand this heat, Lieren""It is nothing compared to having your soul lit ablaze or enduring the glare of one of the damnable lords of discord" You explain "We can rest when we find some shade my love, the walk to the town is only a few more miles""Should've...come in one of my metallic drones, instead of a body with actual senses and feeling" She complained, leaning against your as you lead her tired self towards an outcropping of rock and shade, that to your great delight and her relief, has a nearby spring of drinkable water, that you help her drink from with the assistance of Michah's old hat. Cont
>>6189762She lays by the shore, shoes kicked off and fanning herself with that same hat that is steaming in the sun as you sit beside her and watch a nearby song bird with razor sharp wings that are comprised partially out of a metal grown natural from its body. "Poor pick of a honeymoon spot" An unfamiliar voice drawls "You two can leave here above snakes, but, well, you know how it is out here, beyond civilization. Men need to do bad things to make a living""You are choosing the worst possible person to rob, you dumbass" Kanzeon groans, still fanning herself as she sits up "But by all means, carry on, what'll happen if you do will at least brighten my mood a little"The small gang of raggedy, dust covered men...more boys even if their faces are aged from their lives experience, all are struck by confusion and briefly think of nothing before their thought processes restart and they continue to follow the script they had in mind"Listen, we ain't killers, but we'll draw iron if you want trouble. I'll ignore what your missus said, old timer, if you just quietly toss your shooters down and give us whatever you've got" The leader drawls, lifting their long duster coat to show they are indeed armed."Hm. You've never fired those at another person" You point out, smiling and leaning closer "Not even intending to miss. And neither have any of the boys at your back""You don't know nothin" they bluster and you nod"That may be true, but I know people, son, and you weren't lying when you said you aren't killers. But you aren't bandits or robbers either" You continue as Kanzeon complete dismissal and ignoring of them and your calm response puts them more on edge than when they walked from their hiding places, barely having had time to psyche themselves up to commit the crime they had planned "You got lost during a trip between towns, during the storm of a few nights prior, and are desperate for food, water and means to pay your way into the next town over. You're as much strangers here as we are, and they don't let anybody in their homes, do they?"The leader's eyes bogle and he clutches the side of his head, as the impact of being gazed upon by you so directly and for so long begins to be felt as a searing pain."How the hell do you know that, witch doctor?" He squeals, clearly terrified by your ability to read him like a book, and the sudden and unpleasant sensation of your piercing attention. His friends draw, and Kanzeon sits up a bit straighter"Don't get yourselves killed, I might like to see you get humiliated for bothering me and my man, but you don't need to die" She warns "And if you press him, Hunter here will kill you all before you even know you're dead"Cont
>>6189763"Its true, I may not look it, by I'm quicker on the draw than the reaper is to make house calls" You boast, in proper New Varro fashion as you slowly stand up, hands hanging relaxed by your sides in a non threatening manner "I have no intentions to bed you down, but I will teach you youngsters a lesson if you don't stop fooling"All six of them were nervous, moments away from shooting, just out of confusion and fear of your entirely accurate read of their misfortunes and characters. What do you do with this gang of troubled youths, Lieren?>Simply shoot the guns out of their hands, and warn them about the dangers of the life of an outlaw, then offer to let them follow you into the town up ahead and a few more lessons>Simply scare them by performing a bit of psykerism and then hand them enough valuables to pay their way into town or onto a train, letting them off with a warning.>Stand your ground and tell them exactly how many men you've hung and that they are welcome to shoot you, and that you'll only draw if they threaten your sweet wife. "Enough of yer yapping, old timer, draw or" The leader of the gang of youths drawl, arm already shooting for the holster on his side, intent on drawing his firearm first. You merely lean your head to the side and smile softly, eyes squinted against the glare of the blazing sun. His friends follow in suit. You hear the rustling of the leather at their side, the metal of their guns being pulled free. Hands drooping at your sides, you relax your shoulders and lean back. With one revolver, you have more than enough bullets to disarm them without harming them seriously. However some ricocheting would be necessary, a feat easily accomplished without making use of spirit's touch, but why leave things up to chance? Especially when someone else's health was at risk in gambling on probabilityYou draw, not bothering to restrain yourself to an ordinary human level of reaction, and without tensing or straightening your back, you open fire right as they clear leather and, with impressive speed for baseline humans, draw on you with proper posture. They can't react to fire or move out of the way as you fire with one hand and with the other help direct the bullets to where they need to be after striking the sides of the first revolver they strike."Hell!" The leader shouts, his hand buffeted by a cloud of sparks as his gun flies from his hand, and his friends cry and wince as they drop their firearms or grasp at their hands, paling as they see their fingers are all still in place and one piece as their revolvers flip through the air or clatter to the ground. There is a long, tense silence as the young men all look around and realize none of their friends are writhing on the ground in the throes of death or clutching bleeding, ruined hands to their chests. But their relief soon gives way to a mind blanking terror as they realize you chose not to kill any of them, and with inhuman speed, disarmed them and performed a sequence of impossibly accurate shots with a level of rapidity beyond the limits of reason and believability."I warned you" You tell them as you serenely holster your revolver, still smoking, as the head of the gang clenches and stretches open his hands, fingers scorched from the friction of the bullet deflecting right next to them "Now you can't act all hot-headed, with your shooters on the groundThey're frozen on the spot as Kanzeon casually and lazily claps her hands together, the leader of the gang's jaw wagging as he tries to speak."How in the sam hell did you do that? You ain't normal, are ya, fellah" He whines, trying to sound tough by the fear building in him turning his voice shrill"He's the best there ever was" Your wife teases, fanning herself with her hat still "And you best not forget it, boy"Cont
>>6192303"As the lady said, I ain't have a peer on these lonesome roads" You concur with a sagely nod "It wasn't arrogance that had me treating you as if you were as threatening as a particularly bothersome fly. I just knew where you and I stood, is all""And you'll just let us leave?" The leader asked weakly, rubbing his wrist as his friends behind him watch your holster warily"You ain't done no wrong. Ya ain't killers, ya ain't even thieves" You smirk as you roll your shoulders "And I intend to teach you, and warn ya. An outlaw's life is bloody and short. A life lawfully and righteously lived, even if it is short, is better lived and more fulfilling. Live by the gun and you'll die by the gun, and worse, will dirty your own immortal soul with all the foulness you get up to""I..you know none of us were fixin to hurt anyone, we just needed to survive, ain't many ways to get back into town when you've gone and lost everything outside of your home range, an old feller like you should know that" The leader says weakly"And if I was anyone else but me, you'd all be dead if they were faster on the draw or twitchier, or they would be. If you'd aimed for my beau. You'd all be dead. It only takes one mistake for the role to become the actor" You point out "You haven't done any wrong, yet. And I cannot allow you to run off and make that one mistake or else find yourselves in a pine wood box well beyond your years. An Outlaw's life has no true comfort or substance, nor does it have any value or peace. No joy in that life either""You should listen, he's dealt with more outlaws than people you've met" Kanzeon cuts in, as she lifts up her bonnet "He knows what he's yammering about, even if he does look like just an old coot""How many?" One of the other members of the gang of would be criminals asked faintly"More than there are bees in a hive, snakes in a hole, and stars in the sky" You answer vaguely and poetically "More than you'd care to know. But you'd join them under the daisies, if I just let you go. You deserve, as all men do, a chance to thrive. So, I'll just bring you with me and my emerald, to the next town, buy your way in as well""Why would you do that, after we tried to hold you up?" The leader asked"Cause I'm a generous man, if I leave you out here, I can't hammer more of my aged wisdom into your bullish skulls" You answer amusedly"And I have no complaints in helping to guide wayward youths" Kanzeon snickered as she rose up "And you aren't going to get a better deal from the dust devils""No...no we will not. Name's Shane. Shane Picket. These are my brothers, Owen and Ellis. Then there's the Byers kids, Otis, Mack and Ross" he says, taking off his hat, a sign of utmost respect in new varro culture, and using it to point out the various members of his would be bandit clan "She...well, she is a lady, not that you can tell, that is Miss Lamb. Dorthey Lamb. We...uh, hand her set up over the hill"Cont
>>6192305"I noticed. She still has her rifle trained on me. From here, I could shoot out it scope before she could sneeze" You say, smiling and waving at the girl hiding up one one of the rock piles around the spring "I've already been introduced by my missus. Hunter is the only name I need""And the well bred mare herself?" Shane asked politely and meekly, keeping his head bowed "Cassie" Kanzeon answered with a grin, she was really enjoying the chance to play the role of an imaginary character."Well, I am in your debt. Clearly this old gunslinger woulda put a few new holes in my hide if you weren't around to cool his rattler's temper" he chuckled, tugging his hands around the corner of his hat "So...what's your business in Steelfield?""Taking an account of the quality of the local gentries character..." Is all you tell them, before you lead them back to the road and towards the city on the horizon, which is nestled along a mass of ruined buildings that had been shorn and smoothed down by the buffeting sandstorms, turning an urban hive of concrete and steel in a mesa of rusted canyons and pale white crags with a few crooked, drooping spires still rising defiantly out of the mass with opaque glass panes shining in the sun. There are a number of railways towering high off the ground, taller than most of the sires reaching for the skies that sprawl outwards towards other towns and cities. The Old Rails that Old Winchester spoke so fondly of. They're a kind of ancient human technology that you've never seen before. With anti gravity propulsion that is unlike the Aeldari sort and any other examples you've seen. Their presence makes the air thrum with a strange haze and "sing" like glass chimes left to hang in the breeze. And along the red rock canyons the former city was built along and that steelfield sticks closely to in the gutted out remains of the metropolis, you can see long, artillery pieces designed to resemble revolver's fit for a steel giant's hands. "For the thundering birds" Shane explains when he notices Kanzeon's curiosity "Takes big bullets to shoot those mean tempered birds out of the clouds"You nod, and approach one of the entrances on foot, and are stopped by a sharp whistle"Strangers. Stop" A mechanical voice buzzes "We ain't know you round these parts, going to need you to prove your good intentions in our friendly town o steelfield""They got cash!" Owen yells "Enough for all of us to put down a payment. And we swear we ain't here to cause trouble""These boys are with me, as is the gentlelady" You shout out, tipping up Michah's hap with just your thumb "And I have prepared the proper payments to be granted admittance to your fine city. But I'm here on business. I'd have a luncheon with the...""Governor" Kanzeon whispers in the back of your mind "Governor" You say confidently "Doing a census...of sorts"Cont
>>6192306"You have business with the Steel monger? Don't think he had any guests booked or relations from afar primed to visit him..." The speaker speaks as you jangle a handful of pearl necklaces "Though I'm sure he just forget the arrangements he's made with ya, I'll tell him uh""Mr Hunter and his entourage" Kanzeon calls out and smugly adds "And wife""Yeah, them. Have arrived exactly on time" He cheerfully calls out "Open the gate ya deaf mule, some fancy city folks are here to talk with the chief""Not giving good first impressions, honestly, if you have to offer bribes just to enter a town" Kanzeon mutters ruefully, telepathically speaking to you "But so far the town seems if anything prosperous, and the people look happy, healthy and well fed""Its an assurance. There are outlaws and worse in the wilderness, and people who want to escape the lawlessness and harshness of the free range are willing to pay for the security a city offers. It upsets me, but it is a status quo that can be easily changed and isn't offensively oppressive or wicked, from what we are aware of thus far. Though, how those bribes are used, is what will determine the steel monger's fate" You explain to her in your thoughts before turn to Shane "Here, get yourselves a hot meal, while I speak with the Chief of this here town""...We'll save you a bowl of pork and beans, uncle hunt" He exclaims cheerfully, tipping his hat as the seven of them rush into Steelfield before they can close their gates on them "Sorry sir.." A weedy, freckled man wearing a cloak reminiscent of the cult of mars, yet subtly different from the garb of the Mechanicum "The Governor is occupied with other business at the moment, and asks of you to wait for him to finish with it. But he's invited you to his family manor to enjoy his hospitality, while you wait on him""What kind of business?" You ask"Nother family talking bout marry one of his daughters, for access to the mills and forges here" He explained blithely "We make shooters no one else remembers how to make. Cause Steel-Monger's grand...something pappy kept the place in one piece when the whole world went to hell then wild""A near complete societal collapse, probably caused by the world suddenly being cut off and isolated, losing the necessary supply shipments to maintain its then current strata of society" Kanzeon theorizes, mentally, unheard by the tech adept "Caused either by interplanetary war, or a sudden environmental shift, or alien interference. The current state of New Varro is more recent than the Old night. And certainly less far flung than my sisters and I's unexpected arrival to shangrala eons ago. Maybe measured in thousands of years, at the latest, more likely centuries judging by the state of their remaining high technologies"Cont
>>6192308"Then the ruling family were probably mostly descended from politicians or the planetary governing body, initially" You theorize alongside her as you and her silently follow the aid through the town, being gawked at and admired from afar by many passersby, who are in wonder of an outsider being taken to the governor's manor "This steel-monger might be a descendant of a worker, from what little we've heard of him would seem to signify. For his and steel field's sake, let us hope he remembered the humility of his ancestors"The palace of the Steel-Monger, is in fact the renovated husk of a Manufactorum, that is still partially active, with terraces of gardens and leisure spots hanging from it, away from the churning industry at its heart. And all of the servants and workers populating it are in high spirits and good cheer, healthy, well mannered and fed. No signs of abuse or mental scars or psionic controls. No servitors like those that were made upon Nuceria either, at least not where visitors to the governor would see them. And, shockingly, the Governor's prior business ends nearly as soon as you're lead to the foyer set aside for you to wait in.He is a well dressed man, rotund but not grossly obese, with one whirring mechanical leg coated with rust and oil jutting out from a white silk pant leg, and a half mechanical hand clutching a long exhaust pipe shaped into a cane. He is dressed wealthily, but without gaudy adornments or excessive waste. His white clothes stained with a mixture of sweat and industrial pollutants. His face is piggish, hemmed in by a white, formerly blone beard that shakes with his jowls as he dabs sweat from his red brow."So...I heard a strange of wealth wished to do business with me, a census of sorts? You don't look like a government agent, son" He huffs and puffs "Not that us in the city hear much from the Bureaus nowadays. Just enough to know they're still watching, and the State hasn't died. Couldn't tell ya who the president is....""You can drop the act, Steel-Monger" You say "I am not from your government""Hmm..." He grunts, scratching his beard "Thought you might have been, considering the augments of that pretty thing at your side. And your inexplicable wealth...Our government...You further away from being a local than a Shaggy Spook is at being fine company or welcome at dinner, ain't ya""You're more astute than your appearance, which I know you've crafted to be overlooked by your peers and rivals, would suggest" You answer with a smile "And I am a stranger in these parts, yes""Census..." He truly believes keeping the rest of the world in the dark about what transpired in the past is in their best interests, and his mind and heart are remarkably pure for a man of his wealth and trappings"Then...a scientific voyage?" He bleated, dumbstruck"There are Ogryn here?" You ask brightly "Now that is even more expected, I've never met an Ogryn in their right mind who I have not liked""Seems to be a common strain of generational adaptation" Kanzeon tittered, relaxing in her seat "Now, shall we move onto our official business then, love?"Cont

Calling the vote now. Sorry for the long wait.>>6195128Thanks for the help, XD.So Lieren will arrange a meeting between the govenors and arrange for the return of the kidnapped natives, and the establishment of proper trader routes. And Have Kanzeon give pointers and the means to improve the standards of living and efficeny with which steel field is ran, while he uses both of these things to attract the attention of Bureau, so he may track and locate their base of operations and pay them an unannounced visitWriting now
"First order of business, arrange for us a meeting between all the governors of New Varro, so I may take the measure of them all as I have done with you, Steelmonger" You start, as Cletus nods and pours a few glasses full of liquor, which you accept when he offers a glass of the golden hued liquor to both you and Kanzeon "Then, if I deem them deserving of their stations and authority, we will proceed with the triumphant homecoming of your lost country men, and usher in a new era of prosperity for New Varro, with the establishment of a hopefully fruitful trade route between this world and Ours, Shangrala""Never heard of the place" The governor jokes, winking "And they'll need a little convincing, I assure you, they're all good, well bred and well mannered folks. We all do what we can for our communities and try to ensure those who live outside of them can...live. The plains can be quite unforgiving, I'm sure you know, Mr Lye Rin. Since I take you to be something of an outdoorsman""One of the very best. My love has a deep appreciation for nature" Kanzeon titters "And he and I have already have plans to convince your peers to accept traveling so far to meet with two strangers. And more, once the talks are under the way. Though if they survive to see those talks, is dependent on how accurate your testimony of their character proves to be. We're here to unify and ensure the well being of the people of New Varrow, but he has a remarkable ability to gauge the exact contents of one's heart and I am not being poetic""Its in the eyes" You explain with a nod "Which is why you and I've become fast friends, Cletus, I can see you are a good man, wearing a mask of opulence and greed to fool those who insist upon tyranny""Well...I assure you, none of them are criminals or pickpockets" He says seriously nodding his head and trying to stare into your eyes, but being unable to look upon them for long "And, how may I ask, madam, do you intend to bring my peerage to the bargaining table and agree to shake hands with....strangers from the stars, friendly as you two are, that is a hard sell for some more cautious individuals""Well, by improving Steelfield" She explains with a smirk "I'll instruct you how to improve the industry and overall standard of living here, and raise the efficiency of which the city is ran, from the bottom to the top. Manufacturing, Societal, technological, everything. That will convince the other governors to sit down at the table, seeing Steelfield's production and the baseline happiness of its inhabitants be suddenly and greatly improved?""Should, but I thought Lye rin would be in charge, Miss..." he starts"Kanzeon" She says with a nod "And he has other work to do, don't you darling"Cont
>>6195452"I'll be observing, from out of sight, since my true appearance may shock your fellows and make them hesitant" You explain "and keeping an eye out for any malignant actors who may seek to impede our efforts of reunification, or else sabotage the prosperity of steelfield. I'll be near, but you will not see me""You won't, don't try" Kanzeon adds with a titter, covering her mouth with her sleeve in a very long-jianese fashion "And in public call me Cassie, until contact between our peoples is officially established""Well, I'll trust my life in your hands, Lye Rin" The steelmonger says with a shrug "And It'll be a pleasure working with ya, Mrs Cassie. I'll get the paperwork in order and see how well Steelfield takes to your handling of it, then, once the results are in, I'll give the other cities a call and show the frontiersmen the improvements, of which I am sure there will be many, and welcome to visit"You smile and nod, sipping the smoky liquor and exchanging some stories with Cletus, sharing tall tales to make the new varro politician more at ease as you can tell despite his enthusiasm, he does fear for his safety and that of his city and her people, if certain unsavory elements pay attention to the changes and seek to prevent them from being carried out. Or try to take his life and replace him with a more easily controlled heir.It doesn't take a full rotation of the world's cracked moon or two Shangralan months for the Bureau to make its move, launching their strike against your beloved rather than the Steelmonger, as she had quickly earned a reputation as a philanthropist and industrial pioneer through the aid she provided Steelfield and the advance technologies she shipped into make the improvements possible, particularly removing much of the industrial pollution from the air and ground and re urbanzing the ancient city steelfield grew out of and reactivating long dormant manufactorums within the Governor's palace.Of course, the attempt was never carried out, because you immediately spotted the would be assassin and swiftly dealt with them. They were a man dressed in a black suit, with surgical alterations and sub dermal cybernetic augmentations that made them an effective killer, however, their implanted armor did nothing to save them from The Branch Snapping Breeze, and while they were crippled, you turned off their communications before they could send a signal of their failure and distress and stopped them from committing suicide through a oral capsule of cyanide implanted within their tongue. The event he had intended to turn into a tragedy is not finished by time you reverse engineer and trace the signal he had tried to sent back to its intended recipient. And aboard Kanzeon, who finds some humor in the foiled assassination attempt since, in her own words, she would've just sent down another avatar and "Scared the shit" out of the assassins' handlers by acting like nothing had happened.Cont

The air was stale, sterile, comforting. The facility thrummed under her feet, like the gentle purr of a tanks engine, the generators powering the lights and circulating the purified air feeling as natural to secretary junior class two Mercy Scotts as her own breathing. There had been a lot of hubbub in the upper echelons of the one true government of the pioneer world. Unusual activity in orbit, sudden changes in the usual affairs amongst the tributary cities, a decrease in projected abductions from rural farmlands and non tax paying citizens, but all that was just water cooler gossip to mercy. The regular irregularities the politicians and field agents had dealt with and calmed countless times before her time. What was important to the unmarried miss scotts was getting her supervisors coffee order right and deliver it to him in the barracks of subsection delta nine six and return to her duties in time to resume her riveting conversation with Prudence concerning the new artificial flower they'd made. It was good that the Research and development had finally stopped playing around with creating biological weapons of war and...."You should move" A serene voice with an accent unlike anything she heard before in the confines of the only true remnant of Varro society sung in her ear. Having been bred to be obedient and taught to obey, Mercy stepped aside, as suddenly the corridor was filled with a blinding, green light. Like a fresh dollar. She dropped the coffee, splattering it and the ceramic mugs containing it, as the reinforced steel and plascrete hallway buckled and contorted, bulging outward as plates designed to withstand nuclear ordinance and extraterrestrial assault were bent like they were made of paper. And suddenly, as the flash dimmed, there were dozens of metal men wearing armor that Mercy had only seen the like of in old history books and propaganda reels. And one of the robotic figures stood taller, more imposing than the rest, moving so swiftly that it nearly caused the secretaries brain to short circuit. She stammered, a primal panic gripping her heart as the squad of unknown, inhuman soldiers spread out, massive, brutish firearms in their hands as they spoke in a strange tongue to one another. Then the alarms started to blare and shut down protocols began. Mercy eyes moved to the steel, air locked door she'd just passed through. The giant among giants, simply lifted up a hand and twisted his wrist. And the sealing door was forced open in the opposite direction, gears meant to withstand winds with enough galeforce to strip a living creature down to their bones grinding and deforming."Restrictions lifted. Enemy force inbound. Control your fire and avoid civilian casualties" Another of the eerily silent metal man said, after saying more of their foreign gobbledygook.Cont

The air is already thick with the multitude of smells produced by death and those conjured up by the propellants expelled by bolter rounds in their flight."Remember my children, every life holds equal value, fight to defend yourselves but only to preserve your own life. Spare as many of these subterranean dwelling men as is possible, we come not as conquerors but as peacemakers" You declare, waving your hand and sending out a flicker of hysh's light within you outwards, to guide you to the throne upon which the tyrants sit "Not destroyers, but preservers. Keep casualties to a minimum, and capture and secure any of the technology possessed by these opressors who dub themselves the Bureau. We aim for their government heads, not their tormented soldiers robbed of their will or their masses who know naught but their rule""Understood, loud and clear, Primarch, watch your fire, only return fire do not initiate" Nikephoros says with a whistle "That means Ignatios is on rearguard duty, direct the civvies away from the action, Hyun-Shik will be in command. Any contradictory orders, father""No, that should cleanly and efficiently preserve the lives of the innocent here, in this strange stronghold far beneath polluted earth" You answer, giving him a quick but respectful dip of your chin "Carry out your orders, and let us sally forth" With the element of surprise and the superior quality of your forces as well as their armaments they wield, there is little that the Bureau is capable of doing to defend themselves. The non nerve stappled troops, that still possess their own will, quickly catch on that you are not pursuing them when they retreat or opening fire on the civilians and clerks they shelter and shield. Some try to take advantage of this. They do not live long to regret it, as you simply freeze them in place with silver frost and execute them personally for daring to endanger the lives of those who are without guilt or fault for the tyrannical rule of Bureau and know nothing of the world beyond it. But, seeking to preserve lives, does result in some of your sons being wounded. But thankfully, none of them are slain in battle, due to the swiftness and efficiency of your assault and the superior protection offered by their powered armored and the actions of their battlebrothers, but as the Bureau senses its impending toppling, they release more ancient technology and desperate means of guarding the head of their unjust government. But, fortunately, the innocents within the facility have the presence of mind and are sensible enough to not attempt to impede or otherwise harass your force, instead seeking shelter and hiding away. And Eventually, there is no more need for bloodshedCont

Calling the vote now. Sorry for the wait.>>6201402Thanks for counting up the vote againSo Lieren will force them to watch New Varo join with Shangrala and flourish, and allow those they've treated like test subjects judge them, executing the deserving and forcing the rest to join the wider society of New Varro, confiscating their technology and hidden basesand lead the extermination efforts of their genetic experiments and biological abominations to make the deadly ranges of New Varo at least a measure saferWriting now
With the main branch of the Bureau secured and subjugated and its armed forces surrendering to you by authority of one General Whitehall, the other branches quickly fall into line as word of their so called presidents' Assassination spread and video evidence of your technological and military superiority are shown to their local leaders, governors and councilmen, all advisors and toadies of the late and final president of the tyrannically remnant of the original society and culture of the charmingly wild and beautifully dangerous world of New Varro.Only one outpost, a purely military garrison, turns temporary refusal into armed aggression. Liberty reduces its location to a smoldering crater, having been waiting for an excuse to open fire after being informed by a still amused Kanzeon about the doomed to fail attempt on her life. The remaining holdouts, and those stations and bunkers that had refused summons and did not even deign to respond, quickly surrender themselves to your mercy, preferring it greatly to the alternative. One of their scientists tries to ask just what kind of space station you used to blast a hole into a mountain before they could even scramble fighters or arm orbital defenses. You remain silent. You find those who are most responsible and cannot find redemption through community service or later charitable deeds, those who were true tyrants and villains, and then, bringing them to the gathered governors of New Varros surface cities, and explaine to Cletus Steelmonger and his peers, the exact circumstances. With assistance of your wife's drones and some lent by her sisters who joined her in orbit, you broadcast the extensive trial of the leadership of Bureau. It lasts until the arrival of the Shangralan Delegation, head by Empress Daiyu, to reach just the last two generations of crimes. Several of their leaders, generals, scientists and politicians are given posthumorous judgements and across the plains, ranges and deserts outside of the cities, effigies are burned.Redrum and Clayton Pratt lead on themselves, gathering together some of the roughest of the gunslingers from New Varro taken from their home, who survived the wars on Shangrala, to drag straw effegies of the worse of the Bureau's ancestors across the routes. Apparently, there are talks of turning it into a national holiday of remembrance, marked by a race.Steelmonger, leveraging Steelfield being the first of the cities helped and uplifted to a higher standard of living, and Kanzeon's fondness of him, is declared as the leader of the "Unified New Varro Republic" as the cities have decided to name themselves, wisely choosing to distance themselves from their past as mere puppets of the bureau. There was an honest vote, and except a few ill mannered mountain hermits, nearly the entire literate population of New Varo voted. Cont
>>6201885Several voted for you as "Goldeyes" and many more voted for Kanzeon's disguise as Cassie, but Steelmonger won the popular vote by a slim margin. So he is there to meet Empress Long-Jia Daiyu as she arrives with much pomp and ceremony, alongside the other governors and several sheriffs from "Boomtowns" of some import beyond the reach of "true civilization". The former heads of the Bureau and those underlings of theres whose personal wrongdoings can only be punished through execution, also intend, so they may see their work to stagnate and control New Varro fall to pieces. There is no attempted assassination, as even the rowdiest and most defiant amongst them are struck with mortal awe and terror at the sight of Kanzeon's true body descending from the heavens, as Daiyu asked her to serve as their landing craft. For intimidation purposes. And even the "Vice President" is silence when Kanzeon's sisters shadow the skies above Steelfield as Steelmonger and Empress meet. The people of New Varro are, stunned by the fact not all "Shangwhatsits" are as tall in stature and broad of shoulder as you and your sons, and almost childishly fascinated by the current fashion trends of the imperial court and the manner of armor donned by the imperial soldiers. Yin Lei has been given the vaunted privilege of guarding the empress as she arrives and returns the stolen men, women and children of New Varro to their homes. And while you watched the procession of Empress Daiyu, alongside General whitehal and your sons, guarding the Bureau's condemned leadership and on trial soldiers, scholars and officials, you counted the reinforcement ships you'd asked for to perform the extermination of the unnatural lifeforms the Bureau seeded across New Varo as bioweapons and living security systems. To your supreme surprise, the thundering birds and Shaggy spooks were not the results of, as Anahita put it "Honestly embarrassingly shoddy" attempts of genecrafting performed by the Bureaus' scientist"Empress Black Jade greets you, Monger of Steel" One of the interpreters, one of the oracle breed, whose abhuman appearance draws many an eye of the crowd that had gathered to meet "The aliens touching down in quiet ol Steelfield" "Pretty name, for a prettier lady" Cletus compliments, as the oracle breed girl returns the compliment "And I, Cletus of the Steelfield Steelmongers, greets her empressship in turn, I am to understand, you and your hubby been keeping good care of our boys and gals them sleek, razor looking craft rustled in the night and out in the black void yonder"Cont
>>6201886"The empress is touched by your compliment of her fairy like appearance, your words ring with the truth of a murmuring spring, Monger of steel, and the wind whispers have reached your ears true, they have lived in silken manors and have rode a steel horse and done many a deed worthy of recounting. They, selflessly, bled alongside the valiant sons of Mist and fog, and threaded the rope to form the noose of many an ill ruler. The gun singers are as the folk heroes of old, writ in flesh and deed rather than ink and story" She returns and you quickly realize that translating the innate poeticism and elegance of Long-Jianese directly into the New Varro dialect is akin to doing the same with Aeldari into low gothic, and that is with the interpreter using her skills to try and use the more immediately understandable phrases, idioms and sayings when applicable "The tamers of great serpents, those of corpse eyes, sealed the crypt and guarded the graveyard for many of our people, truehearted and stalwartly. A debt that cannot be paid in jade nor gold, is owed, and is paid upon this hour of this day"Steelmonger looks to you and Kanzeon with a pleading, desperate look"Our native tongue is one of artistry and metaphor" you explain, smiling "Neither the empress nor the interpreter have enough of a grasp on your regional dialect to translate the meaning of their words easily, what may sound nonsensical to your ears, are actually words in of themselves or sentences that can be understood through the traditional phrases steeped in history and symbolism used in their place. Please, allow this humble architect to explain in the empresses stead'"Oh for..." Kanzeon sighs, annoyed by even your polite explanation "Fairy like and fairies in general are used to denote beauty in their culture, springs are a source of water and thus are associated with origin and by that association truth as most Shangralan cultures have a great respect for their ancestors and lineage, Wind whispers are the translation of their word for rumors and gossip though my husband also uses the same characters to describe telepathy, Silken manors mean comfort bordering on the obsecenly luxurious and is somewhat archaic as such indulgences are frowned upon in modern Long-jia. Ride a steel horse is one of the many, many poeticisms used in place of "fought in a war". Sons of Mist and Fog is one of the terms for the Shangralan people, taken from an ancient poem written by a man fed to...a certain breed of giant chicken. The thing about threading rope, is a poetic way to say "Helped us give tyrants what was coming to them". Gun singer is a common alternative to gunslinger in their popular culture, due to a mistranslation and heavy accent of a play written about one of their tall tales"She paused to refill her lungs, having to consciously remind herself she needed to Cont
>>6201887"Tamers of great serpents, the Long-Jianese have only heard of your rattler herds from the exaggerated accounts of those refugees they've been sheltering and after recent encounters with town crushing serpentine formed lithovores controlled by a race of sapient fungus....the universe is ridiculous...they have the idea that they ride similar lifeforms" She continues on, increasingly irrigated and exasperated as she hears herself talk "Corpse-eyes, Deadeye. There are many ritual surrounding the treatment of the dead and superstition of their souls, which leads into Sealing the crypt and guarding the graveyard. That just meant "saved the lives of and or prevented unnecessary deaths through their heroic actions", and yes, New Varro volunteers did help greatly in several of the recent wars waged by the people of Shangrala. And finally, they really just love jade. My darling earned a reputation for making jade out of nothing, for instance. And if I let him explain, he'd have added a new layer of symbolism and metaphor to cut through, because he, like all Shangralan natives, cannot help but to be the most verbose of poets""Ay, can we take a moment of the lovely creature you are so fortunate to call a wife's time and have her assist in our deal making?" Steelmonger asked after a long moment of silence "Of course, I'd be happy to help" Kanzeon grumbles sarcastically, arms crossed "Nothing I like more than talking trade and politics""She who perceives the sounds in the world is of course always welcome to attend Black Jade Empress of the Dragon Family, before or behind the cotton screen" The interpreter answers after Daiyu stopped giggling and whispered her commands to her.And so, the ceremonial first meeting of President and Empress, which is recorded for posterity and for viewing on both New Varro and Shangrala as transmitted through several formations and arrays of dragonfly drones projection both light and sound, comes to include an irritable and short of patience Kanzeon. And Daiyu has her fun using even more archaic and obscure Long-Jian idioms, koans, metaphors, symbolic turns of phrase and strings of poetry to annoy her further and make her, at one point, go on a several hour long tangent explaining the exact method of breeding and caring for a certain breed of iridescent scaled carp to explain a phrase that lasted exactly five syllables and was comprised of three unique characters. A phrase that was closely tied with the Gao families past and particularly their mythologized founding. But that in essence, meant "Member of the Gao family", as Steelmonger brought up lineage by asking about the imperial household and why Jinhai wasn't the one to travel to New Varo. The answer of which could be surmised as, Jinhai was visiting Yushan on his way to investigate another human world the Celestial Explorers had made contact with, that had asked to be made tributary of Shangrala.Cont

Calling the vote now. Sorry for the wait,>>6203026Thanks for collecting the votes once more, XDSo Lieren, in a rare moment of peace, take the chance to meditate on the ancient wisdom and knowledge entrusted to him by one of the great old ones. And reassign Dae-Hyun to shadow/ guard Jinhai in his planetary visit, while the rest of his sons purge New Varo of genetically engineered bioweapons/ abominationsWriting now
Long-Jia's bureaucracy is a well oiled and above all supremely efficient machine. The initial trade routes between New Varro and Shangrala will be charted by the expert cartographers and well trained astrologists and astronavigators in short order, more complex trading systems and paths are unnecessary until the empire of Long-Jia expands its influences or is subsumed by your father's terran born stellar empire. Al-Uzza needs no assistance in collecting and cataloguing and processing the technological catches and hordes kept by the now defunct Bureau. And the eradication of their creations, the foul bioweapons that have long plagued the people of new varro and thrown its many unique, harsh and enduring ecosystems into disarray can be entrusted to the skilled soldiers of the imperial army, the brothers of the panther lodges accompanying them, and above even those master hunters, the capable hands of your gene-sons, the Astartes of the second legion. As for Jinhai wandering into what could be an assassination or kidnapping attempt with a mostly unknown political entity. Dae-Hyun is honored to be given the duty of honorguard and brings a congregant of the Sheowl rangers with him to shadow the emperor of Long-Jia as his bodyguards This affords you a rare moment of peace, bereft of guiding responsibilities and duty. In the void of space, shielded from the vacuum by a telekinetic bubble of air atop Kanzeon, you begin to meditate, clearing your mind and preparing it to once more glimpse up the fragment of a fragment of the great plan entrusted to you by the one of their number incarnated as a turtle spirit in the warp.Upon the featureless white void imagine, with swift brush strokes, you begin to trace the origin points of geometric circuity that was branded upon your psyche, cautiously repeating the same sequence of sigils in your minds eye in the exact order and form you first witnessed them take, well aware that a single mistake was not only a great offense to the weaver of this power but would create an intense backlash of psionic and probable energies that would wound you both body and soul. Using Hysh's light as an aid, the geomantic web alights with an uncaged wind of the empyrean, untouched by Jian Qi's foul talons, a purer expression of the fragmentary plan. Weaving Hysh, silver moonlight and golden fire together, you weave a foundation around yourself, recreating the schematics implanted deep in your mind and watching the familiar fractals spread outwards from the position you hold within the great plan yourself. And as you recognize the portions you have already gazed upon, you taste copper, and feel blood trickle warmly from you nose and eyes. Enduring, steeling and centering yourself, you dive back into the sacred geometries of the webbing pattern. Containment has spread further, replicated and splintered into new forms and lessons.Cont

Paradox Creation. The term is more esoteric than Containment, yet despite the simplicity of the concept, that expression of great plan of the late old ones is astonishingly complex and the universal causalities and truth that are fueled by it exist nearly everywhere within reality. But the forms and expressions in which Paradox creation can be found across creation are fewer and further between than the principles fueling and powered by Containment. And as such there are fewer visions to be conjured that may be connected to the creation of Paradoxes. The paradoxical is termed as such becomes the circumstances and causes of that which is called paradox cannot coexist by basic reason to exist. And yet they do, yet they may. You have encountered true paradoxes. The service of a noble, righteous man beneath the heel of a tyrant, the culmination of opposed energies you had forcefully fused and melded together, Silver moonlight and Golden Sunlight both shining within and branding themselves upon your soul. Just as your previous meditation brought forth examples of Containment in its various forms and meanings when you contemplated the mysteries of teaching and technique of the Great Plan's record of Containment, so to do images and examples of paradoxes that you've encountered and known, even those you had not recognized as such, rush to fill the void of your thoughts. Another demonstration of the curious quality of the strange knowledges entrusted to you.And once more decoding the fraction of a fragment that is contained within the phrase Paradox Creation is a challenge, even with your analytic mind focused solely on the effort as you meditate. As you work upon unwinding and unraveling the raw information and wisdom that comprises it, which you picture as a legion of snakes formed of smoke and mist, once more the sensation that gripped your heart as you've faced the most repugnant and ill natured of the warp's denizens grips your heart. Casting aside the sensation before any of the villains may find sanctuary in your thoughts, the fractal that contains the once lost guide of the creation of paradox, the forging of the impossible and implausible, the creation of the unreal, originating from the accursed brand scarring your brow.Images of golden fire, being fueled by handfuls of fire taken and fanned from the embers it creates from itself, immediately fill your minds up as you dive headlong into the mandates, guidelines, protocols, means and methods penned by the eldest of all races. Sites, locations of its useage, one of them being a familiar battlefield upon Shangrala, spread out before you as real as if you stood upon all of them simultaneously, surrounded by ever flowing currents of lines of code and mathematical formulae. Concepts beyond even your mortal ken, descriptions of once immutable laws of physics now lost and broken. They simply appear as blanknessCont
>>6205083True nothingness. The real picture of the void that'd drive lesser men to delirious madness. So you simply do not try to comprehend that lost pillars and foundations of the universe and turn your attentions instead what still exist or may yet be. The only way the unknown may become know, the indescribable described and recorded and Nothingness turned to something tangible, is to embrace it. By facing it directly and confronting the core of the mystery and gazing upon it, studying it intently and diligently as you look within your wife's eyes, as you adore and treasure every individual of the human race. Love is your shield and guide, the pure white, selfless and chaste love you hold for Kanzeon and that you hold for all of mankind. It defines you, and thus will serve as an anchor as you take the first step of a new journey and dive into the swirling abyss of impossibilities and uncreation of the sea of knowledge contained within the shard of turtle shell that holds the guide to [Paradox Creation] Wreathed in the purest expression of the love you feel, donning it as an armor, your mind is able to endure long enough to adapt to and process the storm of new information and insights that assault your psyche as it acid sears and hot brands itself to the chemicals, bio electricity and neural pathways lining the grey matter of your brain.Golden flames turn to silver frost that burn yet remain as solid as ice. Merciless hate coexisting within the mercies of a gentle heart. The presence of soul beyond death, the continuation of life in a universe defined by its finality and limits. The flow of time returning and merging with itself, future and past colliding to form the present. The brief mingling of smoke and steam as a log reduced to embers is tossed into a stream. The creation of new life. The end of old life. Existence and death. Paradoxes. For a single fragment of existence is extinguished yet all of it may never be fully wiped out or depleted. Paradoxes exists everywhere.Light produces shadow. Heat cools. Night turns to day. And day to night. Only defined by the boundaries between them. The thresholds that define matter and all of reality. Paradoxes are the natural state of being.Boundaries ... [Containment ] ....none of the innumerable boundaries between different expressions of existence are unbreakable and unchanging as they seem. Illusion is reality. Have you dreamt you were a butterfly, or are you a butterfly who dreamt they were a man. Even those boundaries that seem uncrossable, unchangeable, may be and are intended by nature itself to be surmounted and overcomeThe boundary between life and death, melts away as readily as frost. Night does not end. Neither does Day, they simply replace the other. It is all about perspective and belief.Belief shapes reality. For nothing is real, except what we create.Cont
>>6205085You have already made use of Paradox Creation in setting your soul ablaze to fuel the fire that burns your soul to repair and mend thy spirit. And have called up the creation of bubble of altered reality and transformed existence and taken upon yourself the mantle of those connected to your vast soul and lent your power and expertise to them as well in their times of need. The golden sea is fills a thousand vessel and in turn is filled by the same thousand. The cycle without beginning or end.But now that fragmentary enlightenment expands, to see that those powers of yours are simply one expression of the universal ability to define reality as what it seen and believed. Consensus was drawn, eons before, to give form and reason and sanity to existence. But now you see the weld marks, the lines drawn in sand are not iron walls and heaven piercing mountains. They are just lines, easily blurred, erased or simply stepped over. And knowing this. Realizing this. Allows you to comprehend non reality, to make it real. [Paradox Creation] is no longer a unknown factor, a path unwalked. You've been enlightened and now see the thresholds that prevent paradoxes from forming without purpose or guidance. The boundaries that only exist in the mind, the walls that stand because they are perceived. It is a bit clearer now, but you cannot claim to possess knowledge until you put it to the test, the same is true with all wisdom and ability.Waking from your meditations, spheres and globules of blood floating around you in the vacuum of space above new varro, sensing Kanzeon's distress for you immediately alleviate as she senses your consciousness returning to your body after confronting the most ancient of riddles and insights, blood still flowing from your orifices and pores from the sheer mental strain of meditating upon and simply being in the presence of even so small a sliver of the great plan. You immediately put into practice the first and lowest foundational level of [Paradox Creation] Holding out your hand, you summon a tongue of the fires constantly lashing and surrounding your soul and then be screwing your eyes and purposefully ignoring the boundaries between heat and cold, fire and ice, erasing them momentarily in this singular instance as you make yourself go crosseyed through the effort and strain.AndIn an instance as the fabric of reality arounds you warps, you brand, upon this singular gout of soul fire, your insistent belief that fire can freeze and be turned solid and tangible.Creating twin paradoxes. Fire frozen like amber. And a portion of your soul, severed and free from the majority. A fragment of Lieren that is no longer you. A blaze of soulstuff that's absence is noted and healed by the same fire that surrounds it. He could be sweet as honey that boy, sweet talk the oneriest of rattlers into the pen and don't get me started on how sweet he was to the fairer sex while the women folk are around"Ol' Wilbur smiled weakly, thumbing the brim of Michah's hat as he turned it around in his head, eyes watery as he looked up to you and Kanzeon as you sat around the humble table in his humble abode"Didn't think the boy would take my joke of "I wish someone could find that ol'coot Winchester and bring him back" seriously, I thought my friend was dead, taken by a spook or thunderin bird" He continues on "But Michah, well he could be mean as a scorpion who woke up on the wrong side of his bed when there was fightin to do, and from the stories you've...you've told me, he found a lot of fighting that needed doing on you world of Shangrala. >>6207373Michah's family would take Jinhai up on his offer, but you were not present to hear what they discussed and spoke of during the humble rattle farmers trip to Shangrala, for you were busy working with Carys and the other Aeldari journeymen to find the most comfortable worlds to set aside for the abhuman and alien members of Shangrala. Many were content and all were welcome living alongside the rest of society, but it was not humanity's prosperity and contentment that you were responsible for.The floating colonies on Black Abyss, complete with artificial beaches made with the assistance of imports from new Varro and trade deals struck with Alf'Harim, had turned the peculiar world into one perfect for the Se'ah'in. And Jaw-Ripper who had fully matured into "Slow wise sunbather" according to the juveniles she still bossed around, convinced the rowdy youths of her gang to behave themselves as they were transported to Black Abyss, which, Jinhai, in a flight of whimsy, decided to rename by allowing the first leader of the Se'ah'in to give it a new epithet as they swam under the storm wracked waters and relaxed on the artificial beaches connected to the mobile colonies inhabited by the settlers from Long-Jia, who were of primarily Zoroast and Lomb stock, though a bask knight had bought a colony and established a new order with the Se'ah'in, or at least the ones who could sit still long enough to listen to him talk of high chivalry and honor. "Eh" Jaw Ripper Languidly grunted, being roused from one of her numerous mid day naps, her bulkier tail fin flapping as she rolled over onto her stomach, scratching her jaw with one of her four arms, the webbing between her fingers having retracted somewhat "The young idiots won't call it anything but "Fun spinning water, flashy flash light, woo" or something dumb like that, but since you asked nicely, crown guy, I guess you can call it the..."And then she sang a melodic song, that was half se'ah'in and half long-Japanese that, awes the crowd gathered around the eldest most Se'ah'in, and brings both you and Jinhai to tears."Or something like that, can I go back to bed now?" She yawned as she flipped closer to the water and dipped her hands in the lapping waves"A planet named after a poem, how quaint, very well, by imperial mandate, Black Abyss will cast aside its designation and be redubbed as "Violet Waters, Mirror flashes of lightning, A storm without end""Try to get the stupid babies to call it that, big boss. Where's the storyteller, I'm bored" Jaw Ripper rumbled, chewing on a stalk of imported sea kelp as she languidly stared out at the sea, humming a song as you spotted two of the younger Se'ah'in fighting. Cont
>>6207374She was singing herself a song lamenting the idiocy of youth and how annoying her juniors were by nature, while waiting for the Lomb Chief she'd befriended to tell her stories or teach her crafts, since the blubber and mass she'd put on as an adult had made her a much less dexterous swimmer than she had once been and hadn't yet adapted to the more slow paced and sedentary lifestyle of a grown Se'ah'in. But you'd noticed she'd become somewhat introspective and philosophical, and had even asked you to translate the "Frozen" words of the journey for her, and had learned to imitate your voice to get her now disrespectful underlings to listen to her. As well as several other voices, which she uses to entertain herself with harmless mischief. The younger Se'ah'in, while you had concerns about the native wild life of Violet Waters, Mirror flashes of lightning, A storm without end, being a threat to them, show their carnivorous and bellicose nature by quickly teaching the local predators that Se'ah'in and humans are not on the menu. Usually by eating the local apex predator and playing with its bones and entrails. The Nosa Rubigin, however, with some assistance and care, find themselves homes in every world under Shangrala's banner except for Eternal Celestial Engine, being hardier than most of their native plants and quick to adapt to new enviroments with some assistance and specialized soils and fertlizers. The people of New Varro are quite fond of the "Rosebushes" and the subdued Yushanians form a close bond with the Rubigin, the fugnoid intelligences and the ambulatory plants both finding ways of communication and interaction impossible for any other species, and several flocks move to Yushan to help tend to its ecosystem once they are convinced that the Yushanians will program the animals to not view a group of Nosa as a salad bar, as one, oddly popular Nosa Rubigin comedian phrases it. Though one or two groves move in with Carys flock as they find Aeldari movements to be a near religious experience and can watch one at work for hours. The Sagit, find they enjoy the jungles of Yushan and ranges of New Varro more than the mist swept valleys and fog shrounded mountains of Shangrala, and the hustle and bustle of its urban centers and Sharp-Talon immigrates the largest population to Yushan, though some remain on Shangrala and others travel to New Varro. The Merchants of mirth simply find comfort wherever sapient creatures dwell, and so scatter amongst the holdings of the various colonies and vassal states of Long-Jia, and as you work about finding the first colonies designed for the health and comfort of the non human residents and protectorates of Shangrala, the league of celestial explorers spread outwards. Most of the human refugees prefer the civilized life of Shangrala over the newly established colonies of Violet Waters, Yushan and avoid New Varro like a plague. Cont

And the Jokaero seem to have decided to settle one of Shangrala's moons, having covertly created and flown a craft up to it and established a habitat for themselves in one of its craters, along with a stock of their favorite fruits and plants, that you discover around the time the governors of New Varro decide to officially join Long-Jia as a vassal state after seeing just how well the trade routes and deals had worked out for them. And for a time, you're duties are mostly signing off requests for architects and members of the ministry of development to travel to newly found worlds to work with the scientists and scholars of the league of celestial explorers if the world is suitable for human habitation and settlement, or if it can be safely set aside for the future generations of "Our brothers from the stars" which is considered the polite term of address for the collective whole of the non human citizens of Long-Jia. And giving your blessing and being named the honorary uncle of many of your adoptive children's own children or the sons and daughters of the new colonies.Jaw-Ripper even trusts you enough to show you her first clutch of children, having given them all "Stupid Baby names" while they still asleep inside the eggs she, and the rest of the Se'ah'in, are fiercely protective of, while the man from bask, and the knights who flocked to his "Chivalrous order of the Violet Sea" stand guard of her favored patch of artificial beach while she cares for them and tries to civilize the juveniles of her gang. Apparently they are to compete against Elazar's own knightly order and several others to win Mari's favor for the year, soon, and are improving their discipline by standing guard of the amused Jaw-Ripper day and night. Mostly they've had to chase off curious scientists and scholars, one of whom was deafened by startling jaw ripper awake and being one of the few to hear a Se'ah'in's "Fighting song for fighting" as they call their bone shattering screech, and surviving. But soon enough, not long after the five first worlds of the Long-Jianese empire find equilibrium and the two colonies and two vassal states begin to flourish, grow and improve, and as you are enjoying planning the development of each of the worlds and keeping the shipments from them going smoothly, and the colonization of several other worlds with your lovely wife and her sisters, that Jinhai approaches you with a requestCont

>>6207392This is blatantly against Lieren’s morals. Using human as raw materials to construct stuff is cruel and he still considers the soul fragments humans albeit crippled ones which was the whole point of the earlier in story discussion about it. He’s the sort to consider any treatment of humans as resources evil, and he’s justified to treat it so seeing how the history of 40k is one big slippy slope, where one evil action triggers another until evil is consuming the whole galaxy. If you want to use souls in the construction then you have to create them.

Also, more realistically speaking, we already don't speak much with our space marines children, even though it's like one of the core parts of a Primarch. We already have children, a shitload of them. We do not need to create something new. I know it's from a good intention, but let's be honest, if we start adding a "real" child into the mix, it just would take way too much space in an already fat stretched narrative.

>>6208433I think you wrote that to cope with the fact your plan is still immoral but you still want to sacrifice human souls to appease your hunger for this particular agenda. Regardless of how you try to frame it you are still sacrificing people, as such it’s an evil and self-deluding action. Furthermore I would like to establish a well intentioned tyrant is still a tyrant, and just because you think something is good does not make it good.I also wonder why we should waste our time attempting an evil action when we could attempt to fix the souls by healing them or whatever.
>>6208664....are you high on something?I spend almost a week thinking about how to write it in a way that was both moral, economic and symbolically. So excuse my language but where the F@&# in my write in did I write that my plan would use a shit tone of human sacrifice, three pieces from Lieren and Kanzeon combined to create three souls.not over 100000 not 10000000000000, 6 soul fragments combine into three souls, three children with time and care could grow inside into their bodies of living metal (star metal changed it to be more dramatic) so before you accuse someone of being morally corrupt read what they actually write and don't put YOUR words in my mouth and accuse me of it (this proverb doesn't translate very well but I'll roll with it)
>>6208664How is it evil to have children? It may be that my write-in does it in an exotic way but when you boil it down, I am suggest that Lieren and Kanzeon get three children.I see no harm in a willing married couple forming a union that leads to three children.
>>6208664While not the retarded namefag. Pretty sure one of the paths in a prior thread more or less would lead to 'soul creation' for the ships that wouldn't require mass offerings.
>>6208713I don't remember exactly how it was written, but I think it was either doing it the same way they first did, sacrificing a shit ton of humans, or basically the same process as demons. But as I said, my plan doesn't involve one or the other.
>>6208710Just drop it man, no one wants that weird write-in
>>6208727Oh, I know my write-in isn't popular, but if you had spent almost a week thinking about how to write something and then had some people accuse it of being something it simply isn't, I think you at least had the right to defend it. The point about how our sons had reacted to "real children" was something I admit I didn't think about, and it made me question whether my plan was a good idea. But I'll let it go as long as no one accuses my plan of being something that recommends mass murder.
So ive bene thinking about Legion organisation and empire management so to speak. Due to the many responsibilities of being Primarch of the Emperor, Guardian of Shangrala, Hunter of Tyrants and Scholar of Lore. Lieren has had to become adaptive and self sufficient, realistic and ever informed by the horrors of the past. To this end in the “Chimera Mandate” has been penned. The Second Legion will draw their recruits from all worlds under control of the Shangrala Throne. Each system shall be put under the protection of a Grand Company (est 10,000 Astartes), in turn each of these systems shall see to that Companies needs as best they can. Yet upon selection all shall be first trained alongside their brothers before returning to their Grand Companies.>ExampleA child taken from new Varro will receive their training alongside those of Shangrala and so on. Until finally upon becoming a full Astartes and meeting the training standards of the Legions preferred tactical acumen they will make their “Homecoming” and rejoin the Company of System Kin.>ReasoningThe purpose of this methodology if fourfold.1) The Home systems will be defended by Locals and thus far more familiar with both terrain and bearing sheer zeal to protect them.2) Each Grand Company while unified through the common doctrine will develop their own specialisations and tactics.3) Grand Companies naturally are made up of ten companies of a thousand Astartes which can be assembled and folded into other forces while not exausting their own duties.4) This lessens the burden of care upon Combat Command staff and makes localised leadership more effective.>The First Grand CompanyThe Veterans of the Legion will be operating directly under the Command of the Legion Master or Primarch. The Company Captains within allowed to shape their Companies into their preferred methods of war.
>>6208902sounds good but the part with "protection of a Grand Company (est 10,000 Astartes)" as I understood it, the numbers for the legions were quite low and the largest was barely over 20,000 Astartes.Of course, I might be remembering it wrong.
>>6208962Those are very off. some legions hit the 100,000 plus mark the Wordbearers were more and the Ultramarines got close to 250,000 at one point.
>>6208902>Each system shall be put under the protection of a Grand Company (est 10,000 Astartes)My dude, that's an OG Legion's worth of astartes in every controlled system. That isn't realistically possible without at the very least decades or centuries of uninterrupted buildup. It is literally so many that Emps and Malc would get nervous about our intentions and would probably try to dissuade us or take charge of the resulting forces.
>>6208978bro it really aint
>>6208979Numbers might be inflated but remember that by 40k, the number of worlds claimed by the Imperium number about a million. In comparison, the Manchurian Crusade brought a 1000 planets back into the fold of the Imperium. Also official numbers from the Black Library, by year 203 of the Great Crusade, these were the listed fleet numbers:> 4,287 expedition fleets engaged in active exploration> 372 expedition fleets engaged in refit and repair> 60,000 (approx.) detached compliance groups involved in occupation and colonization.Just assuming only the 60k known planets requiring further beatings or a helping hand, 10k marines per system require 600 million marines.
>>6208981Thats why I suggested system not planet and why i specified only the ones we take under Shangrala's domain not imperial doctrine
>>6208902Well is a bit more than that.We are also, the Minister of Development of Long-Jia. He does that job quite a lot. And we remain even Grand Master of the Wanderers (also of the Nameless since... even with transferred command Malcador isn't connected with them properly since the Imperium is yet to connect properly with Shangrila. Meaning someone need to check that and call the shots). We remain the figure head of the Journey too. And Lieren often acts like a diplomat.Lieren has a lot of roles on his shoulders. Still manages to be a educator and father. On the rest, provided that said systems are allowed to build their own infrastructure during colonization and that military speaking, are allowed to establish first the military standard of Long-Jia and his Shangrila vassals and allies on their colonized system. Then Legion structures can be built, and coordination/cooperation between a Shangrila Colony and Grand Company can start. Of course the Legion will through Lieren, Kazeon and her sisters set up a deal of how this is gonna work with Legion and Shangrila domain, on the matter of supplies and resources sent to the Grand Companies. While Grand Companies, will work together with Shangrila fleets, armies and garrisons. Thus maintaining a tradition they picked up from Terra wars. Now if it should be exactly :1 Grand Company > 1 colonized solar system of Shangrila (Long-Jia/allies)is up to debate. It might work for major colonized systems or systems that finished the colonization phase and are now an integral part, like Shangrila it self and in the near future no doubt Yushan and New Varro too, but for newly developing colonies might be a bit too much work. Its much better those colonies develop first, and ensure their military is built like the Shangrila standard so it can be part of that military and integrate properly in his organization. On the matter of recruitment and creation of Astartes, the process could become different, if Lieren and his extended family are allowed to take a look in. The exact final number of Astartes can likely increase from canon, and with a significant decrease of deaths during surgery, during training and during recruitment (if not a 0 on both training and recruitment since is on the Legions to provide the best tools to their recruits. Lieren, for his legion, will make sure that happens for the respect and duty he feels towards the families that send their sons to him). Of course :Emperor knows this since he is not blind, and he will have to decide if he wants it done or not. Both in terms of final numbers and methods. Even if honestly, i think methods will be allowed because Primarchs run their legions how they want it and methods fall in to that.
I just watched Luffy vs Lucci...its a Lieren Vibe when we channel Concepts, stole some frames and I figured this is what the Dark Aeldari always have the nightmares of
>>6208979Honestly, since we've refined the process by selecting only those with the highest chance of Geneseed compatibility, I'd say we could probably reach the 200 000's, maybe a bit more. Also, what traits do our children inherit from our geneseed?
>>6209348>Also, what traits do our children inherit from our geneseed?Boy, it sure would suck if the Chaos Gods decided to treat everything with our geneseed as a lesser trophy to be corrupted or slain.
Calling the vote, sorry for the really long wait. Monster hunter is consuming me. The PC hunter's personality reminds me of Lieren a little, probably cause I tried my best to translate his appearance into the game lol>>6208542Thanks for collecting the vote.So Lieren will investiage the mysterious conglomeration of space vessels that appeared at the outermost border of Shangrala's stellar holdings/ influenceWriting now>>6209043Oh I really love this, the lightning is excellent and the details on the drukhari's face and their expressions are just incredible, especially light how the light and Lieren's glowing eyes reflect in their eyes. And Lieren himself looks properly intimidating/ Terrifying, and I like how you captured his "Pantherish" grin in thisAnd I need to catch back up with One piece, this makes me realized lol
There are several incidents within the stellar borders of Long-Jia's growing cosmic holdings that are brought to your attention. Cao Yunru is given the task of choosing an uncolonized world for Alf'harim settlers who have asked to be brought under the wings of Long-Jia rather than live in the cuthroat and monetarily minded world of the Alf'Harim culture, a population taken from a number of clans and tribes who retain their unique scale paint even in exile.Jinhai is busy convening with advisors from across the bureaucratic ministries, Noble houses, and imperial army to decide the best course of action for handling a primitive human world engaged in inter tribal warfare that has upset several of the observers, cartographers and the first emperor of the Long-Jian Dynasty. Feng volunteers to be an envoy, when Jinhai has chosen the stance to be taken with the primitive human culture. While Half Jaw Hu and Shaved Head Wei, valiantly, volunteer to lead a rescue operation of a merchant vessel assailed by hitherto undocumented assailants, and you give them permission to rally the majority of the members of the brothers of the panther to take to rescue the celestial explorers and the Alf'Harim merchants they were trading with before being assaulted by unknown ships from beyond Shangrala's reach and observations.Meanwhile, curiosity leads you to request to head the investigation of an unusual anomaly, of a hulk of numerous star ships seemingly fused and combined together that appeared seemingly from nowhere in a system that was among the furthest flung of those that the celestial explorers had found a world fit for human habitation and began to the construction of an orbital outpost to await the imperial decree allowing them to initiate the first steps of colonization. And the fact that Kanzeon is also excited to explore and witness the peculiarity herself, certainly played no small part in your decision. You are accompanied by Shirong and one of the late Shan's foremost students, who are quite content in the lodgings afforded to them aboard Kanzeon's true body. And, since her armaments and personal defense array are more than enough to handle any threat that may emerge, you are sent without an escort. The trip is peaceable and you spend most of it in the company of your wife, writing poetry or looking over reports and requests for the ministry of development with your old friend Shirong and Shan's student, as well as dictating several orders to the assistants they've brought along and onboard. Cont
>>6209552And when you are not enjoying the bliss of married life or seeing to your responsibilities as the head of development for several worlds, you are training with or meditating with your sons and discussing with the seniors amongst them Dai Niu's ailing health and the lessons he has been teaching the aspirants to enter their ranks, or other matters, such as their hobbies or their artistic pursuits or the friends they've found amongst the many people of Shangrala."I see the reports had not exaggerated in the slightest" You hum, as you observe through a view screen the mass of melded ships, drifting precariously close to the pristine and serene world that has yet to be named, as the heads of the expedition sent to it are in disagreement of which of its idlyic features stands out the most "That is indeed a titanic vessel, in comparison to the orbital station and celestial explorer ships, but it is dimitive compared to your majestic self, my love'"Hmm, ever the flatter" Kanzeon chuckles, tapping her chin as the air in the observation chamber warms and the engravings upon the wall shift, the relief of a field of flower turning to full bloom according to her whims "And that does appear to be a spacehulk. See, the ships that comprise it come from several different species and eras. My scanners have picked out several of human make and a few Aeldari and a couple of more esoteric sources, and only one or two detectable vessels in the mass that are entirely missing from the records within my databanks""Space hulk? What a clumsy and crude term, though I can tell it is quite accurate even viewing the hulk from such a distance" You remark, holding her hand and rubbing a circle on the fair skin of its back with your thumb "Can you make out any identification from the constituent craft?""Partial and my deeper range scanners are picking up some signs of life. If you want my expert opinion, husband of mine, we should either send a boarding party, and break it into sections for recycling or blow it out of the sky before it can land. You can never be sure what you'll find on a craft like that. Survivors or...well, things that should remain in the cold depths of space" She advises, emerald eyes locked with your own, staring deeply into them "Could wreck more havoc on the planet's ecosphere than the sudden orbital arrival of such a mass would cause""I am curious" Shirong says, hands pressed together in a pleading gesture "For a chance to study the mass, while it is still whole. The threat it possess to the world below cannot be overstated, but that must be a trove of knowledge and technology""It might vanish and wink away as suddenly as it entered the system" Kanzeon warns, looking down at him "Can't you be satisfied with the data gathered from its processing"Cont

She suggested with a pleasant smile and complete honestyHow do you approach the space hulk, Lieren?>Send and lead a boarding party of your Astartes, and a few of kanzeons dragon fly drones to begin taking apart the space hulk for recycling and refinement.>Tow it a safe distance from the habitual world and detonate it and pick up the pieces>Indulge Shirong's curiosity, and escort him and a team of scholars and scientists, with the members of the Book-Wyrms sect as additional body guards>Seek an audience with Magnus, and see if you could not engineer some Psykerist feat to pry the ships apart from one another>Write inSPACE HULK!

"Cease your bickering" You gently reprimand and stand from your seat, Shirong and Shan's disciple both nod and compose themselves, standing rigidly at attention as Kanzeon smiles smugly, reclining upon her sofa "Though you are possessed with a mind as clear as autumn waters, esteemed scholar, your curiosity has outstripped your intellect and seen you forsake self preservation and safety for progresses own sake. Though her rebuke was somewhat sharp tongued, my treasured wife's own advice is more sagacious than your urgings of ponderous study and preservation of the unknown fusion of dozens of once disparate vessels, Shirong. It is out of concern for yourself and the scholars under your wings that she argues for a more militant approach""Precisely. I've already lost one of my friends and rare intellectual equals, to old age of all things" Kanzeon says softly and with the warmth of a mother's love "I will not see Long-Jia reduce its three great remaining geniuses to two, because you wanted to play archeologist, Shirong""I see. And I accept your decisions, great philosopher and daughter of the bone devouring forest. I will, however, request time to study the resources and materials stripped from the vessel, prior to their recycling and repurposing" He answers with a stiff chin and dignity worthy of a man of his wisdom and standing in society"Well I am sure my husband will find some trinket or souvenir for you" Kanzeon jokes, but Shirong takes her seriously and his eyes brighten with freshly stoked hope."Then it is decided. I shall depart with a boarding party of my sons from Terra, accompanied and observed by the dragonfly drones controlled by my dearest" You declare and Kanzeon smiles"I'll broadcast a live feed, to make up for not allowing you to go rooting through something as dangerous as an uncharted, undocumented space hulk, as well. And, the video should be useful in training your recruits for your legion and those space marines who were chosen for the task, hm?" She excitedly adds, as she sits up, straightens her back and stretches her arms"I shall take those of Creti stock and whom are veterans of the subterranean combats of the reunification of Terra, those who fought in the warrens of depraved descendants of stock humanity and the tunnel cities of the tribes of techno barbarians and machine cults" You state "Nikephoros, will be my second in command, and if more was known, the Creti Grave Wardens would accompany us. I imagine, of the groups my sons organize themselves into, that the majority of this squad will be comprised primarily of members of the Grave Heralds and the Ascetic Storm sects. Of the two hundred and forty seven, I shall bring with my forty of their number. The remainder shall remain here, in the event of unexpected retaliation sent from within the Space Hulk""It is a privilege to witness the great road builders peerless intellect at work, personally!" Shan's disciple exclaims excitedly as you leave.Cont
>>6211583"To think we would also claim the high honor of being the first Astartes force to perform boarding actions, just as we were the first to fight upon two of the primarchs' homeworlds and begin the great crusade from our own launching point" Nikephoros exclaims, boasting to the thirty nine other armored and armed space marines, waiting to be sent across the voice in a landing craft fit for warriors of their stature and weight, while the still inactive dragonfly drones rest in compact positions along the floor "The first to meet four primarchs, the only space marines with a mother as well as a father. Hah, the boys back on Terra must be gnashing their teeth in jealousy, father""Perhaps, hopefully it shall drive them to achieve even greater feats than we have together, loyal Nikephoros" You answer with a nod "I am sure some will forget themselves and be envious of the second's accomplishments, but others will be inspired by what they hear when we reunite with the main force lead by my father. Of that I am certain. But save the celebration for after the action, my son""Of course, my primarch" He answers with a nod, as the two of you look over the gathered strike force, all of their names and faces being known to you, for they are as much your children as the tiger cubs you shielded and protected from the crimes and monstrosity of their forebearers "I am simply overjoyed to be given a chance to fight by your side once more. You are an artist in all you do. But in combat, you are as the reaping whirlwind. A force of nature. And while not having any intel isn't preferable, not knowing the manner of foe we'll meet, does excite the tactician in me""They shall not remain unknown for long, Nikephoros, be prepared for anything. A threat without a face or name may be the most treacherous of all" You offer sagely advice as you shift your robes with a mental command to mimic the appearance of the star metal powered armor you sons wear into battle "My sons! We are to depart to capture and tear apart the vessel named by Kanzeon as a Space-Hulk. Though its occupants and origins are unknown to us, expect to only have hostile encounters with whatever denizens it has found through its long, storied sojourn through the stars""Be ready for charlie!" One of your sons returns, with a salute "And expect them to be dug in like ticks on a bull. Understood!""If it is possible, preserve any unique technologies you may find within its labyrinthine halls, but the primary motive for our boarding action is too remove it as a threat to the yet uncolonized world below us and to recycle its materials into more useful forms" You continue "Do not take risks without purpose, until we encounter hostile forces, we shall proceed with the task at hand of separating of the primary masses from the main body of the space hulk with precise demolition carried out by way of melta bombs" Cont

Harberon of the Burning Wing Exodite Clan looked over the orange dunes of his home, it beautiful home which for the first time since the fall was at peace; the Ork had been wiped from the canyons and deep tunnels, the spire mountains had been picked cleansed. He'd fought for this place all his life and now...peace? Salvation had finally come to them in a most unexpected manner for while they hoped their own kin cousins would arrive one day having heard their pleas their saviours arrived not as Druchii nor the Dancers or even Asuryani though at first they'd thought them such. But instead something new...but also somehow..old?They were a conclave of Eshairr; outcasts. They'd emerged from the Webway simply enough looking to all the world a ragtag group from all across their sundered empire but what united them was something simple, the Tears of the mother which hung around their neck were now encased in a wraithbone flower of some manner, their skin etched in runes and sigils of purest white which glimmered in silvers and golds under the setting suns light. They'd offered their aid out of the blue, no trade was bartered for nor demands set forth, nor entreaties for the services they'd rendered so openly. The Warhost joined the Burning Wing's own and together laid waste to the Greenskins. While the Exodites fought in the ways of old in these new comers they witness the old ways made new? Spears of Wraithbone wielded by armoured figures whom danced and almost swam through the way like the Wyrms of the underground rivers? Psykers wielding golden fire, unyielding frost and even light so pure it brought tears to the eyes of they whom witnessed it. Yet the greatest shock was the shadowy figures whom stalked in the shadows of the Host, moving not as a unit but individual hunters, true predators moving among their kin unseen until the truth was revealed.Their Bows.Crafted from their very souls, strung in starlight and firing arrows of pure dread intent. All the Exodites knew it when they saw it, they felt it in their hearts, their blood, nay their very souls.Their father's Bow had been found.A member of these Hunters approached him and offered to teach, to pass on an inheritance so long denied. He asked what he should call them; Lierayrea.“Those taught by Lieren”

Really, really liked this
The eastern facing portion of the Spacehulk was the cause for the greatest concern in your eyes. A forest of crystalline spires formed from pitted and damaged wraithbone, created by the forced fusion of a number of Aeldari vessels pressed and melded together. Knowing what you knew of the Aeldari, there were surely souls lost within it, hanging by a bare thread above the maw of repugnant Se Nie. But that was not the greatest cause for concern. Through the black canvas of the void of space, you could hear that the wraithbone itself was singing a mournful dirge, weeping a funeral song out to the empty and apathetic expanse of existence as it wept and bled pale tears. Tears that threaded through the boundary of the veil between the two worlds to drift as a stream of liquid sorrow behind the crystal spires, as the most mournful of banners and flags, leaving behind trails of tragedy wherever the hulk did pass through reality or the unreality. And, even across this great distance, with a viewscreen and Kanzeon's own hull between your searching eyes and the space hulk, you can sense the presence of that which is most foul. Your primordial enemy, towards whom you hold with an enmity without end. Evil Spirits. Brought into real space, into reality, into the dominion of the dragon carp and the peaceable fields and gardens nurtured for mankind's benefit and those who have sought shelter with them in the dawn that now follows the long night. The vulture of the Emperyean, the scavengers, picking through the bones of brave stellar sailors, and trading their very essences for favor with the Maiden of Wanton pleasures, she who thirsts for corruption and barest depravity. And they must be punished and driven back into the howling winds of the warp, cast into its deepest seas. Their torments of the Aeldari souls trapped within the hulk that drifted through the stars for untold years, shall be brought to an end by steel and high yield explosives. But, you are bound by an oath to your father, to disguise the existence of Chaos except when revealing its presence and informing others of their depredations is unavoidable and necessary. You call upon Hysh, and hear the wild, pure winds whisper in the back of your head as you pass by each member of your boarding party and sanctify their helmets with a brush of two fingers bearing the cleansing light of hysh, illuminating their eyes with its healing incandescent, preventing the perversions and lure of chaos from reaching their minds, granting them a view of the world unshackled by such things as illusions and lies."The enemy awaits us, wielder of my light. Let us remind these degenerate spawns birthed from the squamous hide of the lowest of all Harlots why her kind once feared my brilliance" Hysh whispers and guides your hand "Let us reveal to them the truth you demand, and bring them low through the clarity of the reality you ever seek, Wielder of the wind of light"Cont

One cannot know what lurks within the halls of a collection of vessels so ancient and windflung, the possibility of there being creatures upon it that could pervert your view of the world or befuddle the thoughts of Adamantium willed warriors even such as yourselves, my sons, is not outside of the realm of possibility" You explain "Especially as we are making our landing in the remenants of the Aeldari vessels""And they are a species of psykers, who knows what madness they have left in their ruins, we've all seen how our friends from Carys' followers can distort and bend reality to their whims with the subtlest of incantations and gestures, and how the wanderers in the fog can do the same" Nikephoros remarks, bowing his head as you trace Hysh's sigil upon the brow of his helmet, the visors glowing a brilliant white as the wind weaves itself around his noble eyes"Little sister Meixiu is the stand out example. I've seen her buckle the armor of one of the Dai's tanks just to show off to Uncle Mag's friend" Sergeant Aadolf, the only bookwyrm in the expedition laughs"Meixiu could probably fight a farseer and win from the might of her spirit's touch alone." Lieutenant Rafaī́l Táphos remarks, sunken cheeks alighting with joy as you touch your fingers to his brow and mark him "Our father's precautions are as merited as his concerns "We all know how dangerous the Aeldari can be, from the lessons of the emperor and from the battles we've fought by their side. We'll put to rest the agony of their psionic minds and subjugate whatever may have been born from them in their final moments, the Qi rippling from that pile of crap floating by is...putrid, pops, something awful is waiting for us""I can sense the repugnance of the threat present within the vessel, hence my precautions, Rafail" You answer with a nod "A psionic predator of some kind, a thoughtform given form from the dying dreams of the Aeldari perhaps, or a parasite akin to the kind that haunted fair Prospero before my brothers arrival""Fucking hope it isn't the Psychneuein" He says, spitting to the side before placing his helmet over his head as you hear the shearing sound, like sharp winds cutting through a valley or the flaying gales of new varro as Kanzeon's drones cut and entrance into one of the spires"Whatever beasts await us ahead, I shall be the first to confront them, to get their measure and know the threat they pose, before the rest of the boarding party will advance" You explain, drawing the sword of love from its sheath with a flourish"Hear me, oh wielder of truth seeking light, can you not hear the cries of the damned? The pollution is a step away. Shall Hysh burn the foulness from your sight, Mistwalker who released the sun from the blackened clouds?"

You snarl, acrid stench of sweat and sweet musk and perfumes, touched by fruits allowed to ferment and rot washing into the compartment as the hatch opened and the refrain of a lullaby reaches your ears. You advance, leaping out of the cabin, and landing on the wraithbone floor woven into a web of grasping hands and screaming faces and laughing skulls that oozed a foul, thick liquor colored like cherry blossoms.Shadows danced around your visions, enacting lurid scenes and theater of depravity that'd make the horrors you witnessed in the palaces of the yan princes seem tame by comparison."I advise you, illusionist, to not approach me wearing a guise of a fair face, for my wroth shall be all the worse should you dare to attempt to trick these eyes of mine by wearing a mask of the faces of my loved ones" You warn, as the shadow shift and the disgustingly sweet perfumed air shift, coloring with a heady cloud of opium smoke and becoming scented with hot spices and silver wetted in bloodYou parry, catching the crustacean claw attached to a mockery of femininity, a lashing tongue whipping for your throat."Wise, for an animal" You remark, as you grab the willowy throat of the she demon and hoist them into the air, hooved feet trembling with pleasure then thrashing with mortal fear as you wrench off their arm and crush the throat of their material form, before whipping their body into a pulsing tumor with the opacity of a silken screen. Out bursts a chimera of bodies as the sisters of the capering crab clawed harlot prance about, the spear tailed manticore screaming with an Aeldari's voice, as limbs made of entwined hands reach up, claws formed of crystalline tears flowing from the main body's head's eye sockets and out of the obscene tusked mouth torn through the midsection where half a dozen Aeldari bodies were joined forcefully together in a perverse displayAnd you can see their souls screaming and tearing to escape the fleshcrafted abomination, as its tail jabbed and probed at your defenses. They were stitched and chained in place by lace patterns and silver hooks connected by bands of taught silk and leather."Away" You command, and thrust the chimeric mass of suffering away and into a wall with a palm of spirit's touch , grimacing as you saw the spirit stones were physically fused to its scaly hide, placed between the serpentine scales like jeweled piercings. "Do what must be done, huntsman" A voice croaks from one of the heads smoothed along the bulging thighs of the spear tailed sufferant "Hynaaaah" One of the spirits hissed in delight, sensing your rising fury through your armor of contemptCont

I just think it's neat symbolism wise, it'd be like the demon is impaled by spears of ice which is how we first hunted but also like how we mained their war god briefly and had the frozen spear awhile back. Maybe we'll luck out and find an avatar of khaine inches wreak or whom knows?

"Trust me oh tormented dead, as I call upon the chill winds that whisper across the great sea" You breath out, and adopt a stance once favored by Guozhi and stiffen all five of your fingers as they're coated in daggers of frost and sword intent, the Dai monk exorcist technique The Five Daggers of Winter's Embrace, of the Cleansing Rain school, and empower the simple expression of warp ice with the gentle yet wrothful silvered moonlight contained within your heart. The chimeric creature howls in recognition and mortal terror as the hands of the ghostly dead reach out and cover their eyes as they weep pale, milky tears"Come, face me, befouled flesh, puppeteered by the parasite of the mind!" You roar, and with a flick of your other wrist pull it towards you with great rapidity, your spirit's touch peeling it from the wraith bone wall you'd pressed and crushed it against, as you hop and lunge, thrusting you arm covered in pale white scales of frost into its slavering maw, freezing drool and blood as you scatter the five daggers, and use them to form protective spiritual barriers around the spirit stones containing the souls of the long tortured AeldariThe beast bites down on your arm, a bolt of grey warp lightning strikes it in its primary head as Rafaī́l Táphos wades into the flame, eyes aflame with hysh and fury formed out of filial piety."A mere twisting of broken flesh cannot pierce my skin" You say calmly as Rafail engages with the nearest spirit harlot, bashing them aside with a flick of the staff he had himself forged and imbued with a mote of his spirit"Curious creatures, aren't they. You called them thoughtforms? I wonder what dying dreams these Aeldari dreamt to give spawn to such disgusting apparitions " He remarks as you heft up the hulk of mutated flesh and breath in deeply, golden tongues of flame and a pearl of white light escaping the edges of your mouth and sparkling upon the tip of your tongue as you exhale a gout of soul fire and radiant light. It passes through your helmet as you, and washes over the abomination, burning its body of stolen flesh to ash in an instant as you continue to breath more and more blazing contempt upon it, until even the ice formed by your own hands cracks and begins to melt. You let go, and watch its ashes fade away."Nikephoros. Join Rafail in fray and engage these nightmares given form. They are naught but illusions, figments of the imagination brought into being temporarily by the combined psionic influence and Qi generated by the collective consciousness of the dreaming dead upon these vessel, they have the intelligence of animals, but some low cunning. And may be capable of mimicking speech, in a similar manner to some birds" You order and lie as you turn, and swing out a free formed spirit subjugating blade, taking the fire and light and donning the Cloak of the ever burning will, cutting down four of the evil spirits before they can speak the truth of their natureCont
>>6216292"Understood. Engagement authorized. Fire at will men" Nikephoros responds, and a second later the pack of Se Nie's lowest born progeny are hammered and torn to shreds by a withering hail of bolter rounds, torn to shreds as your space marines advance from the boarding craft and enter the hall of weeping bone and singing stones "And what was the creature you burned?" Rafail asks, peeling a scrap of daemon flesh from his staff and immolating it with a snap of his fingers"A misbegotten thing, formed from the dangers of traversing the warp unprotected. I can only theorize" You explain, speaking another lie, you knew exactly what it was, a purposeful creation, a chaos spawn formed by the scions of the spend thrift of souls to cage and delight in the agonies of several innocent Aeldari, before consuming their essence entirely once they had been properly seasoned by despair "It looked like something the raiders would make in their labs, stitching together flesh and knitting together bone" Nikephoros remarks as he detonates a still twitch daemonette corpse with a burst of bolter fire, having crushed the foul thing underneath his armored boot "The immaterium is a realm touched by many minds, the accidental fusion of flesh could have survived through their ancestral memory of such practices, when they had the misfortune to be made to occupy a singular space simultaneously" You answer with a believable falsehood, as you knelt down and retrieved the spirit stones, thankfully undamaged "And considering there are still Aeldari alive in this vessel, even in a reduced state such as this, it is made all the easier for such occurrences to transpire. Trapped in these gems, their aggrieved and damaged minds can cause all manner of unpleasantness through the unrestrained influences their psionic abilities have upon the relative reality of this vessel""Seems like some of them melded with the wraithbone itself" Aadolf observes"I can hear their pleas for death in my skull, Father" Rafail admits through gritted teeth "How did such a thing happen, don't they only travel through the webway?""There are breaks in the labyrinth. They slipped through a crack, and were dragged unprotected into the wild realm of the warp" You answer sorrowfully "A tragic end. They suffer more than those the Yan princes took as their playthings, than the cloned warriors Nitya Sinha sent out in endless hordes. All we can do is give mercy to those who are whole and collect the spirit stones. And soothe their nightmares by slaying the ones they'd embodied through their own flesh and materialized psychic energy""Understood" Nikephoros "We have our orders, sweep through here and find the containers Aeldari like to stuff themselves into to avoid death""A foolish endeavor" Rafail sighs "But, the fear of death is a natural thing, I suppose, even for a race as ancient as the Aeldari" Cont
>>6216294You proceed, meting out mercy killings and gathering the few spirit stones that remain intact and unmolested by the hungers and depravity of Se Nie's brood, and battling with those spirits that had glutted upon enough of the wraithbone's tears and the soul fragments of the stones they shattered like monkeys breaking the hulls of nuts to remain in physical reality to do assail the boarding party. It harrows the soul. And only you realize the true cost. Of all those who crewed these crystalline spires that had once been ships, only a dozen souls can be retrieved, and they are broken, traumatized things. Your sons do not share in your angst, for they do not, and cannot understand the truth. Until it is necessary to swipe the fog from their eyes, they will remain ignorant. They simply see a stellar sailing disaster, the loss of life, but you understand and comprehend that the spirits once held in the stone have been sent into the gullet of she who thirsts and that each mewling face in the wraith bone is one person slowly digesting in the belly of a devil harlot. You alone understands why the wraithbone sings a dirge and weeps tears. You can feel her faint presence. Isha is aware of this loss. She witnessed it. A gift given to Na Gou by Se Nie for some infernal bargain and trading of favors. An atrocity for the plague toad to delight in the tears Isha shed for her children's sake alone. And that was disquieting. The great powers of discord rarely formed pacts and gave favors to one another. So for what purpose and end did Se Nie and Na Gou to conspire to orchestrate this tragedy? Se Nie is a covetous serpent and a jealous, self indulgent being. And Na Gou is deeply possessive of his captive the willow queen Isha and self deluded to believe themselves a gregarious and generous hostThe brand upon your brow aches and burn as you contemplate these things, while throttling a Daemonette that had grown particularly fat and blubbery upon the marrow wraithbone and the fermented flesh of the doomed Aeldari that once crewed these vessels. And Hysh brightens in your eyes."The Aeldari once had a pantheon, lantern holder" the light whispers to you "The gods they grieve for, were not the only spirits that tended to the Aeldari, just as I am not the only win, and the maiden of frost keeps court despite remaining bound by chains...."A lesser Aeldari ancestor spirit? Still existent. It made a sick amount of sense from the perspective of the discordant ones. What a prize such a remnant would be. Na Gou and Se Nie aided eachother to secure it in this prison of misery, and are competing to see which will corrupt it in finality. It is a contest, a petty distraction, with Se Nie dangling the spirits of the aeldari above it like ripe peaches upon a snapped branch and Na Gou whispering of their mother's misery at seeing such predations into their mind, urging them to drag them into the bewitched contentment their plagues offer.Cont
>>6216295"Father. You're emitting some kind of black smoke" Rafail says, clutching their head "Its clouding my spiritual sense, and...enraging me, influencing my mind""I am merely enraged at the pointlessness of all this suffering, my son" You do not lie. What do you do, Lieren>Break your pact with Rafail Taphos, and trust him to share your contempt for chaos enough to form a shield around his heart, and take him with you to free or slay the scion of Isha trapped here>tell your sons to begin demolishing the wraithbone structures, while you "Scout ahead" and seek the spirit on your lonesome, to release it or turn it over to its new master in humilation >Explain that it won't be safe to recycle the wraithbone unless it is cleansed, and remain here with an honorguard while your sons brave the rest of the ship, and you delve in the spiritual realm to search for the prize the two discordant lords vie for. >Task the lingering souls of your departed friends to do the work and focus on disarming this space hulk while they see to ending this cruel game of the self entitled "gods">write in

Given Shangrala's culture, Lierens regular Aeldari interactions and the cultural overlaps i've based how i picture he's become by now. Grown into a statuesque man wearing the armour of a general, a few cultural charms and sigils from several races be they Human, Aeldari or anyone else, I listed a few nicknames he's earned and used the colours we've been going with; pale creamy armour, azure and plum colours with bronzed trim.Hope y'all like.

So I got thinking about how we're going to have to deal with our sons seeing some [REDACTED] stuff. I don't want to lie to them but the truth can't be told either. So I have an idea one that will serve as a blanket statement but also a foundation for when they inevitably have to face the truth."My sons the warp is a place of emotion and thought, the mind shapes it even when not in its depths. I tell you of these thought forms as much as I can but not as much as I know, not because of foolish mistrust...you would not fail but because they are ideas and emotions, to name it is to give an idea something to hold onto, to look into concepts is to embolden and fulfil them. Cognito hazards, when you face them, steel your mind, will through action and inner thought their none existence, banish them like errant thoughts then think on them no longer. That is what I may tell you"
Could someone please do me a solid and drop the thread number where all our Legion Sects are explained? Or just list them?Equally I'd like if possible a description of each xeno client race we've picked up?

>>6217295Fug, on top of that it'd be good if we had a list of all the races/nationalities on Shangrala itself. Like, there's the Bask, the Oracles, the Angra, the Vishnu, the Forest Vishnu, the Tigerfolk, the Long-Jia (and associated noble families) and a bunch more that I don't remember off the top of my head.
>>6217337There was someone who made art and summaries of all the families as it was then, thought I'd see if I can collect it up later tonight and the 2nd legion all ther sects.
Deep beneath the growing Imperial palace upon Terra itself the Master of Mankinds truest friend and confidant was circling a lone Astartes whom was bound in chains of Auramite which even now were coated in a creeping frost cooling the ancient chamber with a chilled mist. The Line Captain of the Second Legion was in an induced slumber delivered by the Sigillite himself and whom had been taken by a pair of the Golden Host to this place. Yet the eyes of Onni-Mikael were open and focused, they were wafting pale blue witchlight and his mouth still moved despite the stillness of his slumbering mind.“Who are you” the Sigillite questioned circling the bound thing in both the world of men and the ethereal, the Custodes on watch saw an old man with a walk stick circling a bound marine. Yet in the world beyond the veil the truth was much more. A swirling storm of parchment and dustclouds, a maelstrom of humanities oldest things bound to the will of a tempest whirled around two prisoners. The spirit of Onni-Mikael was a pale shadow of the man himself stained red from bloodshed, yet unmoving and resolute, but perched upon his shoulder was another thing; a Deamon of the Warp. The creature took the form of a colossal owl, and it's head spun to always keep itself looking into Malcadors own; “I am...a Servant of Law and my Lady Reborn.”Another question came; “Why are you here, how are you here?” Swiftly a voice sounding like that of an lover spoke through the lips of the soldier, it was familiar but also wrong... to comfortable. “I am protecting the Son's of the Lexarch from harm as he has done my own kin. Like their father the Sons caress the veil without tearing it, so thin only a dream away, only a hope from grasp. Without me Onni-Mikael would have fallen, now he is alive.”“You doomed this man for he may not leave, your kind have no place in this World.”The thing of frost and pale light closed its wings around her perch and now when it spoke it was as a gale, as biting frost and unforgiving winter.“I will not let you damn this pure soul, you who have so much to atone for!” The words struck Malcador harder than he wished to show but sure enough in the warp it knew the truth. In the world of mortal men, frost began to cover the walls and the Custodes levelled their weapons only to be halted by the old mans raised palm.“Then you shall stay here forever-” he spoke quietly “-take him to the Black Cells.”----Lierens sons might have his curse, leaves them vulnerable to possession, yet they also might have helpers on the other side whom aid without being asked...is it possession fo the power is given freely?

"Nikephoros, you are to take command of all but a select honor guard. This wraithguard must be treated and psionically purified before it can be safely recycled. I trust your abilities as a leader and soldier to take the rest of the hulk and prepare it for disassembly" You order and explain with a wave of your sleeve, sitting down, a dozen spiritstones held safely in your hand "I shall remain here, to cleanse it of the lingering emotional energies, purging it from the dangerous psychic force and turbid and polluted Qi generated from the suffering of these once proud vessels lost crew""Understood. I shall leave those with the sharpest eyes and instincts and best aim to stand guard over you" He answers, lifting up his hand and closing it into a tight fist "The rest of you will fall in line and formation and follow me to the next section, we'll gun down anything that gets in our way and find the weak points to begin demolition this hunk of space junk"Rafail Taphos is the lead of the three honor guard you keep with yourself, the psykerist creating a seal of protective wards and barriers of gilded fire as the two astartes under his command take up defensive positions on either side of you as you cross your legs, clap your hands thrice in the way Guozhi would have done, and then clear your mind of all distraction and unnecessary thought as you project your soul into the eddies of the Emperyean. Immediately, you are best by a scavenging bird of prey, that you strike down with a sequence of four bolts of warp lightning infused with the conceptual elements of stillness and death, breaking the spirit shaped like the mythical harpies of the Zoroast with a few carefully placed shots of elemental electricity. Judging from their dress and the brands upon them, they were a pet of Se Nie. And judging from the milk glass statues of mutilated and humiliated Aeldari, this was where the souls of the lost crew had been taken to be made into a feast most foul by denizens of the tarnished silver palace of she who thirsts. A carpet of caressing and grasping hands, pale and flawless as polished jade reach out to greet you from below as tatter banners and stretched out hides of spirits and Aeldari flutter in a perfumed wind.Cherry blossoms with razor edges dance around you on the unsavory breeze as a singing, maiden faced spider collects the smoldering feathers of the vulture woman and weaves them into their scintillating web. But you sense no chaos corruption from that warp denizen, merely the great sorrow of years gone by and lost to fading memory. It is, another sorry trace of the Aeldari crew, their nostalgia of halcyon days given shape and form, too bitter tasting to draw it into Se Nie's fold and much too repentant to attract Na Gou's withering attentions. So you leave it to its song and weaving, and seek out the trail of the ancestral spirit caged and tormented, donning an ethereal panther skin cloak and whistling the call to hunt.Cont

Lots of strange spooks and devils out here" He greets you kindly with a wave, moving with a slithering, snake like grace as he walks by your side "And speaking of devils...""Ah, grandmaster, it has been too long" A skull surrounded by black smoke and plum flames greets, as beneath it forms the body of a sage wearing robes of the wanderers in the fog sect, as Cai's face emerges from the fire and holds his own skull like a lantern "Seems my days of grave robbing and experimentation have bound me yet to mortal memory. Forgive me for not speaking to you sooner, I've been watch Guozhi in his new life, in that most depraved of cities, But the soul of Xueqin was willing to take my place so I may see what business you have in the realm of the dreaming dead, my teacher""We are going hunting" Michah answers with a nod "Not sure what for, but the other boys know what ta shoot at and what to lend a helpin hand to, so I just follow their lead""A spirit that may yet be saved, fought over by two deranged nobles of hell" You answer and Cai nods, his face turning skull like as Michah grins, and becomes half a whirlwind of dust and sand, as a solemn stone statue marches down from a hill of floating black marble squares, followed by a one eyed imp"Zian and Rong" They say in turn, briefly showing their mortal miens before returning to their fully spiritual forms "Reporting to serve the architect once again""Dying did nothing to improve his humor, Lieren" Rong complains, grinning as he cartwheels and leaps in front of you "I guard the imperial heirs" Zian answers with a shrug "I have no time for humor, friend. And forgive me my lord, but not all of us guardian spirits will be able to attend to you and join you on this righteous hunt""There's trouble with one of the bastard spawned princes, trying to take as a wife a soul that isn't there's to claim" Rong explains, smiling cheekily "A fair princess of winter, who some of our number swore oaths to protect""Chen, Bai and Xin, Liang and Jiang, Kamakshi and Rudra have sworn themselves to be her shield, until her unwanted groom has lost their head" Zian explains "Manu, I asked to take up guarding the imperial household"The half gelatinous shakes as a red faced, grinning ogre emerges from a cave torn through a trembling hedge of razor wired roses and whispering lipsCont
>>6217951"Hah! The other ogre!" Red faced Wei salutes "It is good to see you again old friend, I was battling for my skull before I heard your call, and slew my foe with one strike""I was taking a stroll through the graveyard of banditos, seeing if any of them had a quicker draw than myself" Michah laughs "So. whose this spirit we're going to rescue from being sold at a pennyshow, boss?""A descendant of the progenitors of Carys' people. A spirit thought lost to the hungers of the glutton serpent princess" You explain and Cai snarls, becoming a horned skull surrounded by black and plum fire, as the statue of Zian shifts, dust moving as Red Faced Wei roars furiously "Forced to watch them to devour and shame their cousins of flesh, to break their will and golden heart they had been chained and made to be audience to the foulest of molestations and depravations done upon their relatives of substance and life. We are to free them from this imprisonment, or if they have fallen to the lures of the chaotic path, cut them down and deign their new master a valuable servant""Hah, sounds like a good reason to start a shootout" Michah whistles"I'll tear their jailors limb from limb!" Wei roars"They shall no know rest or repose, even from the grave, for their crimes!" Cai promises"We'll lend our spears to your heroic quest, of course, my lord, for the honor of fighting under your command once more" Zian swears"If only our deeds after death could be made into songs, the one they'd write about this adventure would surely make women weep knowing the heroic men who have gone beyond their grasp!" Rong laughs, his pure joy causing the crooked landscape to recoil as if disgusted by its mere presence. "I am glad to see death has done little if anything to damper your spirits, my friends, and that you remain as righteous hearted and noble charactered as I remember!" You cry out, filled with pride and delight, as the landscape shifts to more resemble the forests of Nothing, mist shrouded and serene. Cont

Calling the vote now. Sorry for the long wait, Nurgle hit me with a sucker punch and I felt too ill to get out of bed for a couple of days. But i'm better now.>>6220275thanks for the assistance, XD, in counting up the votes. So Lieren will release the light of Hysh and ride upon its white light, assailing the fortress directly with paradox and caged mercy, while the spirits of his faithful friends sneak inside to deliver the spirit within to its fate, be it freedom or deathWriting now.
The white mist disguise your approach until the citadel prison of the child of nature and the hunt comes in view, jutting brutishly from the pearlescent soil trod beneath your feet, rising from jutting cliffs formed from the yellowed fangs of some once great and mighty warp predator. It is formed of pitted and rusted iron on one half, and of silver polished to a mirrors gleam on the other, oiled and slicked with the froth that comes forth from a bubbling cauldron of decaying flower petals and poisoned wine mixed together with the unnamable excretions of evil spirits and the juices squeezed out from bodies long decayed and proliferated with mushrooms and the hot blood fleshly poured from still living victims, who had been ground and juiced like the sweet lemons of Shuni or the bitter limes of Nuceria before their tattered hides and empty husks were discarded upon flowing, heaven's challenging brambles of brightest gold, like the verminous victims of a shrike."This is where we must once more part ways, though it pains me greatly to deny myself the privledge of hunting and fighting side by side the souls of the most valorous and noble of men" You sigh somberly, shaking your head as the mists and fog swirl and cling to you, taking on the appearance of ethereal furs and steam hung over your shoulder and rising to form a half halo from your back and arms "But, recall my friends, our greatest victories. Of battles one with a single man's death or capture, of our scaling of walls breaking sieges and ending the resistances of stubborn men who'd command those undeserving of death to fight to the last to shield themselves from the rightful wrath of our people""You're entrusting us the task of infiltrating the enemy fortress?" Zian asks, stone face shifting and as tears like rain drops fall down his carven tasks "Without you""The panther's climb" Rong says proudly "To end a battle before it begins. I'm sure Lieren has a plan, and his own part to play in it. And as ghosts, and as his men, isn't it our specialty to get where others could not""Though we did more of that than you two seniors" Red face Wei boomed "But I welcome your presence in the shadows none the less, for once beneath the panther's fur, always a brother to be found""I will follow the lead of those who fought against men, rather than the restless dead" Cai states simply "But I must ask, what is your plan""If I had to guess from the fire in his eyes, the big man is going to raise a hell of a ruckus and get all the devils in that mess of rust and silver charging out to face him, while we slip in like snakes in a boot" Michah, correctly ,surmises"The man of New Varro speaks my thoughts" You laugh, as you smack a hand on your chest and reach into your spirit, extracting a mere portion of the gleam the wild and free Hysh entrusted to you upon their release "I shall fly and challenge the champions of decay and excess guarding this place, and face them in single combat"Cont
>>6220351"Ride fast, ride hard, and tear them to pieces!" Red Face brays, tusks peeking out from behind his wild grin "And we shall meet the spirit, and judge them in your place, old friend""A noose if they are found wanting" Zian states, lifting up the spear he had held until it broke as he defended Jinhai to his last breath against the butcher kind"And our protection if they still deserve it" Rong snickers, capering and clapping his hands"Lets ride for hell's maw, and give whatever foulness we find in side some real New Varro heat!" Michah hoots and hollers, his face vanishing in the storm of sand and dust "Death to the undying!" Cai bellowsYou smile, wiping a tear of jade from your eyes and holding it to your heart, before capturing it inside and sealing it in a [Confinement] Prison, actualizing it as a mercy and gentleness, a deadly poison to the progeny of discordant winds. And then, reaching up, as the glimmering star light of hysh surrounds you, you create and forge a paradoxical weapon. Instead of golden flame or silver ice, you craft it from two aspects of your heart. The passion and fondness of life, the powerful emotions and undying devotions, as a peach pink colored metal that you entwine with cogs of bronze and steel, rationality and logic, efficiency in all things and doings as well as the duty of dealing death and pruning the gardens of humanity to ensure they flourish. The laughter of Lieren the man, the rose hued heat of your cheeks in mirth and the steely gaze of Lieren the execution, of the second primarch's original nature, the cold glare that has condemned countless criminals and villains before your gaze. The peach metal turns into a flowing, curling haft of a spear, fashion in the style of clouds in traditional paintings or of the flowing data streams Kanzeon's avatar dons in her heart of hearts, with oaths of devotion and words of love you've whispered to her and her alone carved along it as protective wards. Around this stylized haft, gears and cogs wrap around like leather wrappings, forming the grip as well as one half of its split head. The other split side, curves like a fishing hook or a Bask Billhook where its tip makes its point, but the rational side is long and weighty, like a Guan or Chen Dao's blade, with an armor piercing tip, long narrow and weighty. It is a curious design, but one that reflects the paradox of your mind and self. With spear in hand and mercy as your shield, you rise upon a cloud of nebulous white light and fly with all haste and rapidity towards the split citadel, booming a wordless wary cry that carries across the dreamscape and through the valleys of bubbling drool and raw flesh lining the edges of the mountains of fangs.Cont
>>6220352Immediately, two figures appear on the opposite ramparts of the divided fortress. On the silver edge, stands a knight, taller than any man, with pink skin peeking out from their swan styled armor, with two great white wings rising from the small of their back and a single spiral horn rising from their unhelmeted face, which is a thing of deceptive beauty. But beneath the swan knight's veneer of chivalry and handsome looks, the rot of their black soul is clear to see, the blood soaking from curled saber teeth and the network of thin scars drawn across their body, reaching everywhere except the base of their neck and their headOn the rusted, iron side, stumbles a mess of bones wrapped together by the roots of a tree, from which a grinning face blossoms from the broken jaw of their original skull, piloting the bones and holding patches of meat hewn with iron nails and taken from man, beast and wicked spirit alike to hold their once mortal form together in an affront to the humanity they had once possessed"Ah, fools who followed in the first damned and first fooled" You declare, raising up your spear as the two competing princes of daemon kind, stand upon balconies to face you, the swan knight calling a buckler shield and rapier formed of white, razor toothed feathers to their hands and the bone walking flower lifts up their hands and summons from within their own body a crude cudgle formed of arm bones entwined and fused together"Hark, oh rival, do you hear the mewling of the child, the chattering of a monkey! The questing beast all seek has delivered itself right to the door of our keep!" The Swan knight mocks, flicking the tip of their serrated rapier through the air "A bounty most prized, the golden disappointments alloyed sun, cavorting with a patchwork bride born of mass suicide and scrapping before a prisoner, mutilated and molested, calling her to command her children to die in the battles he fights to amuse our lords, thinking his struggles offend rather than entertain. Such a sweet lark, I shall become drunk off your blood, foolish monkey""Nnnnr, the one who has so offended my grandfather, to spit in his eyes and declare he shall steal away his wife, while bedding the network of souls who burned themselves together to form a mockery of life. He who declares himself the enemy of our house, yet, contents himself with his own morality. Yes. I hear the declaration of the fool, and our prize, rival. You need not shout. I felt their approach, by the bounty brand upon his skull. I will allow you, a goblet of blood, but the rest shall be fertilizer for the gardens, an undying warning to all those who would spurn Na Gou's generosity" The root wrapped warrior of bones comments churlishly "Come, oh winged divinity, let us make battle with this cur"Cont
>>6220353"Oh, I shall lead our way, oh ever blooming corpse flower!" The shipborne throne room of the Long-Jia Dynasty was vast, lacquered pillars painted with constellations and cosmic dragons, its gilded ceiling reflecting the faint shimmer of the stars beyond. Yet for all the space within this hall which could easily hold a thousand there were only a handful of souls. The Emperor Long-Jia himself; accompanied by eleven bodyguards of the Second Legio Astartes helms carved to resemble the snarling faces of ancient Shishi guardian spirits. Then finally two men whom claimed to be envoys of their own human world far from this subsector, they claimed to wish to test the young ruler of Shangrala's heavens. The taller of the two, a man with an air of practiced elegance, bowed with the grace of an old courtier. “Oh most magnanimous Son of Dragons, Arbiter of the Stars, it is an honour to stand before one of such dignity. I am... Tai-zhen a keeper of knowledge, and I have journeyed far to bring before you a question to prove your wisdom for unlike my companion I believe your people are.”His companion, shorter yet radiating an aura of restless intensity, scoffed, the flowing sleeves of his robe shifting as though caught in a breeze unseen yet his eyepatch remained still. “A foolish question Emperor of Dancing Spears,” he said, voice was flat but it carried an undercurrent of contempt. “But since my misguided companion insists, I too shall abide by your coming judgment. I hope you will prove his flattering don't sway you.”Jinhai remained seated upon a throne of smooth of ghost pale green jade, for a time observed them in silence. His robes, embroidered with threads of starlight, shimmered as he raised his hand, bidding them to speak.Tai-zhen produced the artifact a pcube of ancient metal, inscribed with unknown glyphs. “This,” he said, with reverence, “is the Heart of Nao-kor, a relic of an old...family from an even more ancient civilisation. Within its shell lies the sum of their wisdom, their poetry, their histories—all that remains of their vanished world.” He paused, his weathered face inclining slightly. “I say it must be preserved, placed where scholars, poets, and dreamers might learn from it.”His companion let out a low, dismissive sound. “Fleeting gain for petty histories? You prattle like an old fool. The Heart of Nao-kor contains more than history—it holds the key to a future beyond reckoning, it that could reshape the stars, tip the balance of war, and elevate this fledgling empire beyond even its wildest aspirations. Emperor of Long-Jia it's power core provides this but he insists he keeps intact! He wants it's light to be caged and used to cast shadows of the past!” His voice deepened. “You claim to be a wise ruler. Then weigh this!”1/?
>>6221035He snatched the Cube with remarkable lack of care holding it before the royal.“cling to the past, or seize the future?”The hall fell into a stillness so deep it seemed even time hesitated.Jinhai folded his hands into his sleeves and slowed his breathing. His face betrayed nothing. When he finally spoke, his words were slow, deliberate, like a poem unfolding.“A tree whose roots grow deep may shelter many beneath its boughs, but a seed that is ground to dust will bloom no more.”The shorter envoy stiffened, his fingers twitching in irritation. “You speak in riddles.”The Emperor’s gaze did not waver. “The knowledge within this Heart has endured long past the hands that first shaped it. If I sunder it for momentary gain, then the wisdom within shall be lost for all time. What ruler extinguishes the light of those who came before for their own glory?” He gestured toward Tai-zhen. “This relic shall be preserved.”Tai-zhen dipped his head in approval, his posture despite it's hunch exuding satisfaction. “A decision worthy of the ancients.”The other envoy turned sharply, his resentment palpable. “You doom your people to ignorance and stagnation. You play the scholar while the galaxy burns.”The envoys said no more. They turned in unison and departed, their footsteps soundless as they vanished beyond the great gates of the palace. The Divine Emperor’s lips curved slightly with the ghost of a knowing smile. “I have learned one truth of war. It is not only weapons that decide its course but wisdom, patience, and the ability to choose which battles must be fought.”
>>6221036At those words the shorter figure stopped and almost as if restraining himself turned in twitching motions his lone green eye staring with a hate the Emperor had only seen in eyes of gold. The envoys voice was dripping with venom but somehow...somehow the words seemed true.“What do you know of WAR? what do you know of PATIANCE? You are young and idealistic, foolhardy and ignorant of what waits for you in the stars. When the skies run red and worlds burn, when you reach for a better tomorrow and find it denied by those whom came before you, who have the power to save you but won't I shall remind you of this moment. You need power to take your future from the Old Ones of the galaxy or they will sweep you aside, you and your petty ideals.”The taller figure reached toward his companion and tapped his shoulder, a tired metallic sigh left his lungs after the furious diatribe, the Astartes were moving to forcefully make the men leave; but as if waking from a dream in a moment...they were simply gone. The Emperor of Shangrala sat in deep thought...where had he seen them before....why couldn't he recall...like nostalgia?

Hey so, on the topic of "things we should do when we get a chance", it occurs to me that there's a race whose major flaw is that they reproduce too quickly and rapidly outpace their resources, but we also happen to be well-acquainted with a separate species with a natural ability to manipulate genes and extensive experience doing so.Just saying, introducing the Alf'harim to the Yushani might be a good idea.
