Heliopolis Colony has been Destroyed. The Clandestine operation of the Le Creuset Squad missing one of the vital G-Project's mobile suits and its state-of-the-art mothership. Even with two brand-new mobile weapons, Frieden Moon has found themselves unable to force their surrender and the Colony's remains signify the great power of not only the Strike Gundam but of the Archangel battleship... Yet the Archangel isn't off-the-hook with the Colony's destruction obstructing further inquiry into its location. A silent chase beginning to be charted by command of Rau Le Creuset's Vesalius...

"- Kira Yamato. X-105 Strike. Kira Yamato, Respond!"

Kira's hand trembled upon the piloting controls as he looked, stunned and unable to truly comprehend how in just the blink of an eye...

Heliopolis was turned into a ruin.

Yet again, the encoded transmission tried to contact them, himself too distraught with fear and horror to even acknowledge his name being called.

Until... A stern yet bizarrely familiar voice called out to him.

"Kira... Why are you with the Alliance?"

He turned the Strike, wildly, battery warnings running emergency charge for life support and auxiliary movements.

But the Aegis' command horn still eased up the communication line as the greyed out mobile suit raised its beam rifle at Kira.

Kira had a panicked reaction yet... Didn't move as the old friend lowered the rifle, just solemnly floating their mobile suit parallel to his own.

"Kira... I don't know why you're here in... That thing, but I'll ask you. Come with me to ZAFT"

The tension within the Archangel's command post had dropped down into the valley of death. The atrocity in motion of the colony's destruction weighing heavily.

Captain Ramius looked down, uncertain of what to do as proper damage assesments and other priority orders had been issued.

The status of the Strike and their young pilot and... The plan of what to do, surrounded by the enemy yet shielded by the Colony's husk and debris weighing heavily on her mind.

"Fuck this." Allan stood up in a hurry, quickly gathering the attention and cutting the low-rung tension of the bridge as they glared out "I can't just sit my ass down after whiffing that damn shot..." Murrue quickly had gathered precisely the issue.

After all, the Colony Ring only fell down under pressure after First Lieutenant Parsec had failed to shoot at the captured and battery-deprived Aegis that had assaulted them.

"Cut it out, Parsec. It wasn't your fault alone that the Colony couldn't withstand the attack" Mu affirmatively acted on what Murrue had predicted. "I can't really stop you, but what are you really going to do? Go out on a Mistral and get shot by ZAFT's red carpet team?"

Murrue would have added an order to that, wanting the Earth-front Ace to not make a scene...

If their authority wasn't taken by Badgiruel as she took off the comm's officer line "Precisely, you have your order to stand down immediately from any reckless action you had planned. First Lieutenant... What a joke the Atlantic Federation Forces in South America are if you were Captain Material"

That seemed to have ticked off the First Lieutenant as they turned wildly towards "Shut the fuck up, Woman. God!"
>>
>>6357034

Allan threateningly took a step forth, Mu tensing up as they seemed to reach for something by their hip...

Right as Allan discards that idea, just pointing their finger at the Ensign "You fucking career soldiers are all the damn same, perfect scores and everything! Like hell you know what's it like to actually serve as anything but a crowd pleaser at officer school!"

Murrue had enough as that, as she stood up, slamming her fist into her commanding chair as her uniform clung to and moved to her motion "This is enough! I understand the situation is dire, but if we keep bickering with each other, we might as well tell ZAFT to kill us all!" Murrue's backbone stood steadfast from Badgiruel's surprise and Parsec's defiance "Right now, we need to assess damages and chart our next movements. And with our head mechanic injured, I'll need to do the rounds myself as the overseer of the G-Project. Badgiruel, keep trying to contact the Strike. La Flaga. Consult maps for a course to take. Parsec. With me. You got a brochure for the G-Weapons, right?"

The commanding tone of the woman seemed to have a positive effect on the crew as they heed their orders, Parsec relaxing their posture slightly as they nod "Yeah, but it wasn't all-thorough given we were expecting to coordinate exercises within. I'll admit. I started nodding off over the briefing regarding the ship."

Murrue scoffed, the unprofessionalism of the would-be test pilot even getting to her nerves before she straightened her posture up, Allan following by their lead.

"Sheesh, I knew she had a fire but whew." Mu tossed aside a sly comment before focusing at the task at hand "Dalida, Neumann. Help me pulling out the database for this."

The helmsman and system officer quickly made their way to aid the Hawk of Endymion over his own duties as Badgiruel tried to focus upon her own task of contacting the strike.

Yet the young woman couldn't help but concede a slight point to Parsec, as her own beating heart filled itself with dread despite her curt profesionalism.

"That can't be right, that goddamn bastard ignored the grounding orders!" Yzak groaned, incensed at Athrun's sudden rebellious streak.

"He did fine, He's a good enough pilot... But I can't help but resent the fact we're all going to get punished for it." Dearka tried to relax as the tense situation developed.

The Colony was destroyed, the Le Creuset Squad had lost a teammate and friend...

And now, as they awaited for the two arriving pilots to be cleared and ready to ask, Dearka tried to hold the situation from overwhelming him, Yzak reigned his own feelings as they tried to overcome them with bravado... And Nicol, for the lesser shrinked under the pressure they were understandably under.

Yet the airlock opened up as both the younger and older greenclat pilots pulled out of it "Olor! Matthew! What the hell happened inside the colony?!" Yzak quickly crossed them as them both pulled back instinctively.

"We've just arrived, dammit! Give us a rest!" Matthew commented as they passed abide the silver-haired pilot, deciding to leave the pilot bay as Olor scratched the back of their neck.

"That last G-Weapon could contend with Commander Aimann... And you won't believe me, but Athrun and Frieden were there!"

The Squad had already accepted the fact that the Aegis had been pulled out without finishing data collection or servicing...

More glaring, was it the brand new information that the Black-Band pilot was within it afte rthat launch notice... Even more so as Olor recounted what he could

"What the HELL do you mean he was in a plane?!"

The turbulence is gone as you weathered the exit from the crumbling colony.

However, what greeted you in the outside wasn't the comforting sensation that you've managed to get safe and sound from it all.

But the chilling dread that raises up your spine as you looked at rhe destroyed colony at your wake

"Damn it all! My sensors got busted from the atmospheric pressure!" Miguel commented as they pulled off the hull of the FLUGG "I can see we've pulled by... Good Job."

You don't manage to respond, raptured by the tragedy and the full ramifications of it all as you run it all in your head.

Rusty had perished here, His body will never be found for a proper burial.

So many civilians and unrelated habitants displaced... What will happen to them now?

And the whole of ZAFT's involvement... You don't want to admit it deep down but... You all had a hand in destroying this otherwise peaceful colony-

"Natural, You listening?!" snapping out of your dreadful trance, Miguel grumbles as their GINN looks around "I didn't want to make-do without sinking that ship or suit... But."

Aimann's GINN, Weaponless and with limited vision was obviously in no way to fight, perhaps less of an example is you and the FLUGG's near-depleted arsenal for a reason not to seek further conflict. But that also applied for the Aegis and Strike, now with Phase-Shift off.

>Band up with Miguel's GINN and search for Athrun.

You both knew that Athrun, while far from dead weight as a pilot. Couldn't perform adequately now that their battery was strained to its limit.

You of all moreso, having heard and witnessed that briefing of its capabilities.

So the moment you both agreed, yourself leading forth as you scan the surroundings for debris and potential sightings of the Archangel to warn about...

"He can't be that far away, I saw him getting pulled out of the Colony from that hole that cannon made." Aimann comments as you nod partly of relief, That'd mean the Mobile Suit managed to avoid the decoupling and compacting turbulence from within the structure...

Evading the worst of it, however, did not guarantee he was safe, at all.

You stop cruising forwards however, as the N-Jammer interference around the area dims enough for unencoded transmission to pass by, a message beginning to be caught by your systems.

"-rror, reporting Lifeboat 157, mechanical error, reporting Lifeboat 157." You tilt your head, as Miguel grumbles.

"Figures some of them must have gotten damaged, Ignore them. Those ORB guys aren't leaving them alone." Miguel's orders immediately irk you the wrong way.

"I'd read they have routes in their engines, what if they won't get close to the Colony itself? Hell, what if the mechanical error's the life-support?!" You try to argue for it as Miguel groaned again.

"We don't have the time for this! And where would we even pull them over Dimwit?! We're all military vessels!" Miguel argues once again, before you yourself check closer on the shuttle.

"That doesn't matter, there were Coordinators too in Heliopolis, can we ignore them?!" Arguing with the Ace, he just cuts the communication down forcibly as you groan out of frustration.

You can't shake the guilt of this all having happened because of your inability to act... And yet...

>Rush at the lifepod and try and see if you can tow it back to the ships.
>Reestablish the communication and try and force Miguel to help you and the lifepod out... You think you have an idea
>Even if you want to... Let it go and focus on Athrun and the Aegis. Pragmatically, they're more important.

You quickly re-establish the connection as you force the FLUGG to a dead stop, signalling systems aiding the damaged sensors of Miguel's GINN going offline as such.

"What the- I meant what I said as an order, Black-Band. We can't have them. The Aegis and Athrun take priority as our fellow-." There's a sound logic within the ZAFT statutes of conduct...

The Bloody Valentines War had been one fought to unprecedented ends and lows... It may as well be a brand new type of war in comparison to the deestabilizing events of World War 3 leading to the Cosmic Era calendar.

But, ZAFT formented their officers and aces have a code of conduct and reputation to uphold and of many, many things you'd learned about Aimann in the quarter of a year you've been assigned with him, as you open the communication line.

"You owe me."

Miguel's tone went silent, as if suddenly choking a planned rebuttal upon the choice of words you had said.

His pride defined him.

"Whether it is Endymion or now, You owe me your life. So help me God you don't help me out with these people lest everyone KNOWS what the Shooting Star of Dusk has done here." You threaten them, feeling estranged by it but...

"... Fine, Natural." Miguel responds as you organize the sensors array once again, leading in the Mobile Suit to pick up the Lifepod as your heart's guilt lightens up...

Yet, You have a strange feeling, as you round up and tow the pod with the GINN's hands...

Almost like being watched, even if your Paranoia wasn't merited after thorough examination.

Athrun couldn't believe the response he'd get from his old friend as he offered a way out.

"I can't... Athrun, I can't do that."

>Emotional check = 8 [Majour Failure]

Why... Why is it so difficult?! Athrun couldn't withstand their own emotions at seeing an old friend in the wrong side of the war as he raised the Aegis' Rifle again.

"Why?! Why're you with the Naturals?! Why are you colluding with those that want us dead?!" Athrun explodes out as the Strike flinched.

Even if it was an empty gesture from raised concern, even if he truly knew he wouldn't be able to hurt him.

He still willingly raised their weapon at an old friend

Who did so likewise, as the Strike's legs ejected out a pair of combat knives, edge slightly shivering as an electrical current ran through them.

"I don't want to fight Athrun, but I can't! Not after all this!" Kira positioned their mobile suit in a defensive position, inexperience not quite knowing that he was safe from harm from the deplete batteries "Why did ZAFT attack Heliopolis?! We didn't do anything to deserve it!"

Athrun still kept the rifle raised, yet once again went into an outburst at the implication "You take me for a fool while you're sitting in that thing?! That is proof enough!" Athrun's emotions were bared out, even with the longing he felt after seeing this old friend, he was far too incensed "I am offering you a way out, Kira! ZAFT will kill you if you don't-!"

And just as if on queue to break the bare minimum of restraint Athrun was exhibiting, Kira had to explain his own restraint to the pilot.

"I can't! After the colony's destroyed... I need to defend the Archangel, My friends are on it!"

The legged ship...

He was defending that accursed ship.

Athrun heard it from their old friends mouth, he was deliberately siding with the Alliance.

"Are you out of your damn mind?! Kira! These natural dogs comitted the massacre at Junius Seven, They killed my Mother like the raving lunatics they are! You're telling me you're defending them now?!"

The stand-off broke the tension, Athrun intending fully to tackle and restrain the Strike forcefully as he had enough with Kira's meandering and absurd propositions, the Strike readying itself for the fight-.

Until an emergency broadcast signal hit both Mobile Suit's comms suites, as they turned to see a yellow-and-black mobile armor and an unmarked GINN carrying a lifepod...

Kira suddenly taking the numerical disadvantage and Athrun's stop as he dashed away from the engagement, finally responding to the calls for him as he disengaged the command horn's radius of the Aegis.

"Miguel... Frieden."

Athrun's heart lightened up as he saw both pilots having come out alive from Heliopolis own fall... And yet.

Even as he hailed them... The entire clash with Kira still weighed on their mind, as all three scrambled together to find the ZAFT dettachment.

It went... Swimmingly.

Far too smoothly now that you think of it, slight paranoia still surrounding your mind after the Colony broke apart but...

The archangel was pretty battered from your combined assault, while you're still completely in awe at their resolute lack of a surrender... Well, you think they might not have a proper choice if the damage keeps piling up.

"There they are!" Athrun calls out as you and the Aegis finally see the Nemo, Gamow and Vesalius in formation...

But they seem to be in shuttling distance, even far away from the Colony's ruins... What's so important that it necessitated the two captains shuttling to the vesalius?

"Where are we dropping these people, Black-Band?" Miguel asks away as the Aegis guides its damaged sensors "I told you, this was a terrible idea. But woe me and your-."

"Right..." You cut off their annoyed diatribe as you start to think... Knowing full well you three would have to dock together in order to ease it for unloading.

>Dock the Refugees at the Vesalius, explain the whole situation to Captain Le Creuset and report back to the Squad
>Dock at the Nemo, get the FLUGG on resupply duty and wait for Margellan to come back with news.

"Frieden Moon here, I need the rear access of the Vesalius opened... I've got a damaged lifepod from Heliopolis." Hailing away at the Vesalius flight control...

Well, the fact that the first answer you get from them is a resolute What?...

Just before complying ahead as is procedure, enacting VTOL control to precisely if a little bit on the difficult side, land the FLUGG inside the mechbay without any landing nets.

Which followed as Miguel orderly dropped the pod inside just as you ejected out of the open cockpit, Athrun landing likewise as he releved the damaged machine as the Magic Bullet of Dusk got out of their machine.

It all... Went smoothly.

That is, until suddenly there's two men with submachineguns aiming at you, forcing you to raise your hands up as you saw from the corner of your eye, two others heading towards the Aegis.

In no short amount of time, is it that you and Athrun were handcuffed proper as the men lowered their weapons, the arrival of a woman of raven-haired locks signalling both you and Athrun that...

Orders tend to have consequences when you don't heed them.

"Zala, Moon. Consider yourselves lucky that the Captain has lightened your punishments to your quarters. Now, care to elaborate the meaning of this?" Lieutenant DesLisle elaborated as she pointed towards the lifepod...

You wanted to explain ahead of it but...

You got beaten to the exclamation as Margellan's voice thundered over the hangar
>>
>>6358024

"What the hell is that thing doing here?!" Margellan jumped off the guardrail and propelled themselves forth towards your side, armed ZAFT personnel already getting ready to open it cautiously from the top hatch.

"I couldn't just let them out! Their engines are damaged!" You justify yourself only for yourself to recoil at a slap coming from DesLisle.

"Then why did you bring them here instead of throwing them towards their course?" The Lieutenant tries to make you wisen up as you...

You don't really have a justification now that it's-.

"It's the least we could do after destroying their colony, they would have died eventually if we hadn't done anything." Athrun immediately steps ahead for your defense, even as he rattles their handcuffs in the process.

"Free them. I had informed you of their just punishment, DesLisle..." Le Creuset orders away as you raise an eyebrow, quickly the cuffs around your arms going off as Athrun looked equally as confused until his next order. "Open the pod."

"Le Creuset, you-!" Margellan seems to restrain themselves from profanity as he just straightens their open coat "You know these pods release all their oxygen once open! We can't have them if you plan to-!?"

"It's an order."

Margellan grumbled, seemingly powerless as Le Creuset's own curiosity as the valve of the hatch is opened with a specialized tool, the pressurized air-tanks of the pod let out a set of loud hisses.

As you and Athrun moved to check inside, Respectfully insisting the Armed personnel withdraw from the opening as you gaze inside...
>>
>>6358098

You didn't expect someone to move first, maybe out of panic, possibly out of relief, however as they're aided out by personnel, they push past as they seemingly out-of-reflex...

Glomp Athrun as they lept in the zero-gravity environment "Thank you! Thank you so much, I was so scared!" The young woman rubbed their face onto the Redcoat Ace's chest as Athrun remained stunned, his awkward and reserved nature forcing them to mentally reboot as he held them by the shoulders, quietly attempting to pull them off himself...

As the girl slowly opened her eyes, and glared at the damaged GINN Miguel had left getting hauled by magnetic coils...

The ZAFT uniformed personnel around her, before she consciously pushed herself off carefully from Athrun's own red coat.

Right until she bumps into Le Creuset, turning suddenly to face them in a growing panic as he offered a pleasant smile, despite their mask.

"Good Afternoon, Young Lady... Welcome to the ZAFT vessel. Vesalius."

"N-No, that can't- Not ZAFT...!" The Young Woman started hyperventilating, stressing out over the apparent allegiance of the vessel that had rescued her...
>>
>>6358103

You still feel extremely ill about the wayward scream she had, unnerving the other refugees from the lifepods as you now sat upon your bunk.

The entire weight of the operation now on your shoulders as you laid in bed alone.

Rusty had died, The colony had been destroyed... Even if you wanted to think that there was a large success from the capture of four of the G-Weapons and that green-framed MS... The Archangel could very well still be around the ruins and the Strike amongst it...

"I failed... I failed everyone." You hear out Athrun from a transmission from their own bunk "It was so simple but... But I stopped when I could have taken the offensive!"

Athrun curses themselves as you just listen in, admittedly unsure of the mixed feelings you have on the situation as you infiltrated the Archangel.

In the situation they are right now... It would be precarious to continue on as they are but now with this new demonstration...

What would they expect out of surrendering other than summary execution, regardless of the administering side?

You bid your farewells to Athrun, wanting to rest and attempt to forget about it all if just for a moment, Putting on headphones as you listened in to the media player you had, Scattered thoughts fleeting away as you pass into the land of Nod...

A few hours after the Heliopolis Colony of the ORB union had felled. The combined signal of distress beacons from the lifeboats as well as precise info of ship movements had confirmed the Colony from a scar of war...

Into a Gold Mine for the men and women of Junk Guild, creeds sticking together in an attempt to help out survivors and maybe make a profit out of it too

That inciting incident as well as two conflicting orders had been the catalyst for a legend of the Cosmic Era to begin in proper.

A legend of Red and Blue.

After a brief scuffle, Gai Murakumo had realized the priorities of their mission had changed.

Mercenaries from other companies that had been assigned the same mission soon turning heel on the Serpent's Tail.

He had a veritable level of suspicion on their ties, after he had personally requested to deploy on his usual lonesome with his dedicated support team.

But as he quickly ascertained the combat effectiveness of the very own models he was sent to destroy, Gai pushed those thoughts aside as he engaged in the rush of combat

"Elijah, don't be sloppy and cover my flanks!" Gai commanded ahead to the custom GINN as he saved them from getting overwhelmed, shooting the beam rifle once again as it easily pierces and destroys two mercenary Moebius.

"That Blue-Framed Suit... Wasn't it our-?!" The custom GINN busies itself as it shoots over at strays, not allowing the formation duo to get pincered ahead as evasive maneuvers were applied to its machinegun fire.

"I'll explain later... But we need these traitors dealt and paid with!"
>>
>>6358800

Within the Colony however, one young natural ran inwards, quickly using their wrist transceiver to locate their friendlies within the Colony.

"Lowe! Where's the blue Mobile Suit?!" A woman called out towards the rushing man as he lept in zero-gravity, landing and opening the cockpit of a red-framed Mobile Suit.

"I'll explain later! You guys rush ahead to the H.O.M.E! I've got a plan with our pay dirt!"

As the Red-Framed suit's eyes lit up in green, standing up with the help of its back verniers and leaving their friends in the dust.

Gai and Elijah had finished up with most of the stragglers the superior performance of the Blue-Framed mobile suit and the deadly power of beam weaponry allowing the Mercenary to turn a sure-bound execution into a misplanned slaugter.

However, their mission remained, as Elijah slashed and destroyed a Moebius with their heavy blade "Gai! The Junker ship! Finish it off with a shot!"

Gai immediately moved forth to it, raising the weapon towards the bridge of the Cornelius-class transport ship...

Were it not for his shot to be blocked by a shield throw from the colony!

"Yeaaaaaaaah!!" and with it, A red-framed suit swinging two beam sabers at a Moebius that had managed to elude the Serpent Tail's mercenaries. Shocking them both as the red Mobile Suit had just saved them and the ship.
>>
>>6358801

Therein laid a formal reunion after the attack.

The Serpent's tail Mercenaries realized that their client had ordered their own hit after borrowing communications from the H.O.M.E ship, rendering their contract null and void...

While opening the one Elijah had been tasked with just a moment ago, Of protecting the very same junk guild ship they were just about to destroy

In particular about the Blue Mobile Suit.

"Just Take it."

That had been the mutual understanding between both Gai Murakumo and Lowe Guele in regards of their mutual service.

In space one often meets as many allies as they do enemies, alliances fluctuating. A creed amongst spacers being as such...

"The folly of Man, The Cruelty of Space... And the Heartbeat that connects humanity."

Gai recounted this to Elijah as he held their own doubts after presumably getting humilliated in the process of this job.

"That's all old news from the early days of space exploration, right? I'm not sure it even applies now with the war that keeps putting bread on our tables." Elijah knocked their own two cents on the topic...

Right as Gai suddenly tensed up, feeling something approaching but his sensors not quite catching it.

With an expanded comms array, a Moebius began to fly in erratic patterns to confuse the mercenaries that had just slaughtered their entire company.

"Damn it all, I didn't fly off into the middle of goddamn nowhere to die like a dog! Damn you Sahakus...!" The pilo complained before speeding up, readying up their railgun for a dead-on shot towards the blue-framed mobile suit...

"For the glory of the Union of ORB!"

His warcry wasn't heard by the mercenaries... But either way, Gai noticed the spacecraft far too late to react as they prememptively raised their shield-.

Just for the very space-craft to be pierced by a familiar looking green beam coming from the direction the two mercenaries had been trailing away from...

A damaged, one armed mobile suit of unknown craft having floated, following the two mercenaries around as it jerked, electric currents running across its frame-.

"H-hey, what the hell is that-?!" As Elijah recovered from the shock the distant explosion had given him, raising his rifle, it is gently lowered by the blue-framed MS...

As the Mobile suit's visor suddenly went dim, its frame completely floating motionless as Gai moved in.

"Elijah, that mobile suit just ran out of power! Help me pull it back with the mothership!" Gai grabbed the powered down suit as Elijah followd suit... Before complaining.

"What?! We just came out with our hide and now you want to explain to Reed and Loretta that-!?" Elijah ceases complaining as he reminds himself of the words "Roger... Damn it, why can't it had been a simpler job..."

The two Mobile Suits dragged away the damaged Mobile Suit away from the Heliopolis Colony area...

The ruins of which, shall join in time with the Scar of Space.

You wake up as Nicol did as well, the young man letting you know that your grounding had ran its course by order of Le Creuset.

Alisting quickly with your uniform, however, you saw him staring longing at your side of the bunk, raising an eyebrow, you trail his gaze as...

The copy of the graduation photo stood by its frame in your side of the bunk, noticing Nicol's had been turned down.

"I can't believe he's gone... I... I didn't think-." You try to supress your own apprehension over his passing but.

"We have to keep going ahead, it... It's unfortunate, but we knew the risks when we enlisted." You don't believe in it yourself, you almost understand why Yzak blew up at you when you revealed you were inside the colony at the time of operation.

You could've done far more... And then what?

It's no use to dream of hypothetical scenarios when the reality is that... You didn't know you could have done something until it was far too late.
>>

You bumped shoulders away with the refugees now registered in the Vesalius, Miguel looking rather pale at the broader implications of the operation...

Truth be told, the ship wasn't made to house this many within it and from Nicol's own hearing about the situation. Some of them didn't seem to be that grateful about their rescue coming from ZAFT. The brig being fairly stocked away even as it already set course.

However, knocking and then opening the airlock to Athrun and Rusty's bunk only reveals the blue haired young man wistfully looking upwards as he floated above their bed...

"Athrun, the grounding order's been lifted... We've got to do our duties." Nicol commented away, trying to avoid looking directly at Rusty's own bunk.

For his part, Athrun lightly stirred, his melancholy broken away by the call of duty as he looked to you both...

"Right... I'm sorry for being like-" Athrun moved it to quietly but awkwardly excuse their demeanour before you cleared your throat.

"Nothing to apologize... We have to keep going and yet... I understand precisely how you feel." Trying to lay in your own feelings in a healthier manner, not only as a fellow soldier but as someone older than him that could process it far better...

"So, there you all are."

Hearing that familiar voice, you turn aside to look at Margellan, Athrun finally floating out of their bunk as he, along with Nicol. Looked puzzled at the Captain of the Nemo.

"Was about to order your superiors to carry an order, but I prefer to keep this on the down-low myself. I need you all Gundam pilots to shuttle yourselves to the Nemo ASAP, along with me." Margellan put one hand inside their labcoat's pocket as you raise an eyebrow "And Natural? That includes you."

You raise an eyebrow, as equally, Athrun excuses themselves to talk personally with Le Creuset...

>Let Athrun go and heed the Nemo's call
>Insist Athrun go with you and Nicol to the Nemo, it must be important if it's all the new units
>Accompany Athrun to their meeting with Le Creuset... You could have some questions of your own to ask

You weren't surprised by Margellan requesting you at the Nemo.

In some regards, you're as equal a crewman of the custom mechanic's vessel as of the Vesalius and Margellan frequently wanted you to oversee maintenance orders or otherwise listen to ramblings full of obscenities...

He made some compelling points, at times. But now wasn't the time for trying to find meaning between the words...

Why did he need all the Le Creuset Squad to board the Nemo altogether?

The answer came in the following thirty minutes after arriving, Dearka and Yzak already looking ahead of Margellan as you all breached into the hangar Bay of the Nemo...

"Olor wasn't kidding, what the hell is that plane?!" Yzak commented, suddenly distracted by the FLUGG being serviced as a red-and-black highlighted hull was mounted atop of it... Matter of which Margellan just raised their hand suddenly, almost slapping them with their backhand on the nose.

"That Plane is amongst one of the most superior crafts in all of ZAFT's engineered history, you try and call it just a Plane and I'll make damn sure-..." Yzak just stepped back, frowning lightly before ignoring the stalwart ego of the former chief-engineer.

"Whatever, Shorty." Yzak weaned themselves off the Captain's vicinity as he looked forth to the lined up machines as the FLUGG's moved "What's with the G-Weapons that you wanted us to board the Nemo?"

As he got right to the point, the rounded-up Alliance machines as well as the Green-Framed Mobile Suit were presented off with a wave of the arm.

"We discussed the plan to follow the Archangel and Le Creuset has deemed necessary to field these new models against my advice."
>>
>>6359421

What followed afterwards was Margellan recompiling as much of the data extraction that had been finished with, in the process of the explanation. Athrun had came, immediately pulling the rest of the Le Creuset squad away as he discussed a new plan of operations penned with the White Phantom's expertise.

Allowing you and Margellan a moment to discuss privately as he led you into the cockpit of the green mobile suit...

"Gundam... Astray Frame?" Margellan finished datamining an initial outlook into the Mobile Suit.

"Yep, Green Frame to be exact... I'm not going to lie, Natural. I'm actually sort of amazed you managed to hijack it with the custom virus with all the safety measures and ensuing Data corruption the machine's got within." Margellan commented as you began to initialize the OS.

Yep, it is precisely the G.U.N.D.A.M Operating System based on Neural and micro-programming that Margellan had touted to be potentially superior to ZAFT's manual manipulation systems.

"Who's the bespectacled Halfling making signs at us?" Garodo commented within a prompt screen as you shook your head.

"Oh, that damned Fae AI is working, right?" Margellan groaned as he shook their head, ponytail floating in zero-gravity "That's another point of issue, It initializes before the System database does and it really, REALLY doesn't like us trying to fix the mess the virus made to its archives." Margellan floated over towards the rest of the G-Weapons yelling an expletive at Yzak's duel as you just breathe in.

"Funny, A lot of ZAFT's reputation is behind that perfect super-soldier image and now I get a show of a ponytailed dork barely breaking five feet yelling at Teenagers." Garodo finally speaks proper as their robotic tones mimics cackling "You could write a flick off this... Right, Frieden?"
>>
>>6359422

You widen your eyes, You don't remember ever giving it your name, not your real one at this point.

"Heh, I didn't read your mind. I just heard out the blonde midget worrying for and calling your name a lot as he cussed out with the rest of his team."

You... Don't believe that, These AI's are really smart if they can intuit these things and then try and lie with a flimsy-

"He doesn't call me by my name unless it's formally required... I've come to-."

"Knock that off, dude. He cares. He's just a big... Well, tiny, sour bastard about it." Garodo lays it down firmly before their tone chimes up "More specifically, the hell'd you've been? Whole day goes by and I haven't heard a lick off you"

Exolaining away your grounding orders, Garodo seems to scoff at them before Margellan tells you to shut the Green-framed mobile suit down, complying ahead as Margellan jotted down on a clipboard.

"I had my systems engineers run diagnostics... I think the AI corrupted some user recognition systems into safety measures... Which. Just reveals my hunch that I'm going to need you here at-all-notices if I even want to work it as it is."

Margellan perks up however, as an alert system picks up a communication from the Vesalius, quickly warning of the soon-to-be silent chase operation beginning in an hour.

"I should probably pick up with the plan, Thanks for everything, Margellan." You mention quickly as you proceeded to float towards the Le Creuset Squad...

Until... You were stopped, grasped by the shoulder as Margellan looked at you intently.

"Le Creuset expected to see all the captured models used in this operation... But I suggest you don't deploy on the Green Frame."

>Insist on going with the Green Frame, you'll need all the help you'll get
>Comply and ask for use of the FLUGG, it seems it got a new hull armour and weapon configuration
>Comply and take an unmarked GINN. You'll play it careful this time.

You look at Margellan, raising an eyebrow.

"Is... There anything wrong with the Green Frame or-?" You tried to puzzle out Margellan's motive, because in a outwards focus. The suggestion seemed on direct contempt to Le Creuset's order.

"The Vesalius is marching on ahead while the Gamow was told to hang back... Rollo looked at me oddly when I mentioned the orders, so the Vesalius didn't inform him of the plan except for me, The Big Bastard that's got the team and know-how to get the suits operational after hours of technical issues... And judging for his plan picked by Zala, I just don't trust him and his choice to front an assault."

You blink... What kind of Plan is...?

That doesn't matter "If not the Green Frame, how about the FLUGG? I noticed it was outfitted-!" Margellan raised their hand to your face, one finger pointing up as you shut up.

"That was the plan, however, I need some input. See what you can get off these Redcoats and their plan first." Pushed off towards them, you flail a bit before stabilizing...

"-That's stupid, I bet I could get a shot off their bridge if you guys kept the Strike busy." Dearka followed a tone, suggesting something as Athrun shook their head.

"Data was unearthed from the technical extraction. The Archangel didn't use it's anti-beam depth charges for the sake of the Colony. I don't think your ballistics can get through their armour either." Athrun rounded up before noticing you "Frieden! Noticed you were briefed by the Captain. Were there any noticeable features in that green mobile suit you wanted to-?"

You shook your head, leading the young man to quieten themselves "I was planning on deploying on the FLUGG, the crew's still working the service parts on the mobile Suit" telling a white lie ahead, Yzak just looked over the red shell being outfitted away within the plane.

"I can't say if it's an acquired taste for you, Natural. But to stick to the past like this...?" Yzak seemed to throw shade at it, as the underlying weapons of the Mobile Armour were supplied "That dwarf's a proper vintage nut. Almost like Dearka"

For his part, the dark-skinned pilot just raised their eyebrow as they afterwards frowned "Huh?! Why the hell am I catching strays like that?!" There's... A veritable pause as he referred to this.

"Alright, That changes the plan slightly." Athrun reconvened away from the silence as they slowly nodded "We'll be waiting for the Vesalius to finish its perimeter ambush or confirm a sighting of the legged ship. For now, just remain on piloting stand-by." Athrun dismissed the rest of the group, as Yzak soon had to answer for throwing a slight insult to Dearka.

Which left you with enough time to ask Athrun the gist of the plan as well as some Minour notations about the FLUGG's performance for him to configure.

It... Didn't sit well as Margellan sat in their Office, staring intently at you.
>>
>>6359986

"Three Million. Three Million individuals displaced from a Space Colony. Only for the immediate recourse to it all being to still attempt to capture the Strike?" Margellan grasped the bridge of their nose as he seemed to restrain themselves.

"To their credit, They don't have any other meaningful unit to defend them." You illustrate a good, sensible point in the plan. If you all were to capture that las G-Weapon...

The Archangel would become practically indefensible to a proper skirmish with Mobile Suits involved. Which is why Olor, Matthew and Miguel would only involve themselves as rear echelon guards as you and the Le Creuset squad cornered the Strike until its battery gave out.

"I get it, alright... But I'm not stupid to think the news haven't flown out proper into the earth sphere." Margellan glared ahead as he pulled out a hologram from their command table projector...

Condemnations by Uzumi Nara Attha, current leader of the Union of ORB being the focused in topic on a PLANT State-run newsletter.

"Trust me you don't want to see what independent presses say... But the Alliance's ignored the whole thing, conveniently." Margellan adjusts their glasses as he turns off the hologram projection "I can already expect Le Creuset be recalled back for getting three crews sunk and this political scandal but... So as well I can expect Zala's rethoric on neutral nations see his hide saved"

Looking down, you already felt uncomfortable at a rally event for the armed troops that was televised for all of ZAFT during New Year's eve.

Nearly a year in to the war and a harsh pressing had been made by Patrick Zala on the complicitness of the neutral earthen and colonial nations around the earth sphere... And with the secret news bomb of these brand new mobile weapons made by an ORB company.

"I can tell someone's got to burn... I just can't tell if it'll be the end of it or all of us after the fire sets." Margellan stood up their chair as he set up the projection towards FLUGG schematics "I want to bring up something with you... Once we're clear of prying ears. But we've got to set up the Red Jacket."

Margellan quickly made a joke that you've had a test of a prototype mounted version of the configuration back at Endymion. But the finished product was refined ahead, ditching the crude manipulator arms for new cyclic fittings and feeding mechanisms that would render it able to use any and all armaments from a GINN while keeping it well armoured for a mobile armour.

And given now that you'd only use the cosmo-cruiser mode for this deployment, Weight wasn't an issue on consideration still, you'd decided to...

>A rifle and wire-guided missiles, the kind of basic loadout given you'd use it only to pepper the Strike's battery down.

"Pardon?" Margellan raised an eyebrow with a concerned tone on their voice as you suggested mounting the obvious anti-fortress ordinance to the sides "Are we jumping hoops or you've just gone completely-"

You frown at the insult as you snapped your fingers, cutting off the former chief engineer as he listens in.

"I was planning to misdirect the Strike's pilot with this loadout... I calculated some speed notations Athrun gave me and the FLUGG moves faster than anything but the Aegis' own mobile-armour cruise-mode." Explaining away, Margellan still doesn't quite look convinced...

"I'm sure you can say that, whatever the fuck Le Creuset told you to read during your punishment instructed you as much..." Margellan however, seems to reconsider as they notice your confused raise of an eyebrow at their statement "Nevermind that... I'll trust your piloting ability, but don't shoot at the Strike with them. There's no way in hell you'll land the shot." You nod and agree to that, quickly, Margellan lets the order be relayed to the mechanics as he lets you out to prepare your pilot suit and stand-by for the Vesalius' order.

Matter of which, is it that you exit his office, a young woman in a redcoat uniform waiting just outside of it as they glared at you... Making you raise an eyebrow.

"So, you are the Mindkiller... Frieden Moon." She seemingly confirmed it to herself as you just nod, slightly puzzled... Who are they? "I suppose your performance isn't quite mission-oriented. But you certainly live up to your awarded reputation."

The strange feeling of doubt as you scan your mind for all the faces you've seen within the Nemo makes you realize that this one is brand new... As you ask who they are, they lean closer towards you grabbing ahold of one of the manual rides within the walls.

"I am Mayano Arisman. And I carry news that Siegel Clyne wishes to summon you as soon as possible."

You widen your eyes as she takes off through the automated pulley system across the hall...

Supreme Chairman Clyne... Wants to see you again?

Kira adjusted data values within the Strike's OS noticing various bugs progressing from within the cockpit as a simulation proceeded.

There's too many here! This G.U.N.D.A.M OS far below just an alpha version of itself, so why is it annotated as a final unrevised version?!

The Strike's eyes dim out as once again, the pilot within it wipes out in the simulated environs.

"Fuck's sake!" Allan comes out of it as they threw the piloting helmet across the Hangar bay, getting a mechanic to catch it as he yelled a rude gesture at the earthen ace "Kid! The delay is still noticeable, the hell's the matter?!"

Kira winces back, as Allan realized how hard they are working on it only for the Ace's temper to get at an explicit civilian... The pilot floating down to the connected terminal as Kira examined the code closer.

"I only opened the command prompts and removed the pilot assistance that runtimed the hydraulics into manual control... I don't even know where to start with the delay on that system, do you have any documentation for the system?" Kira wiped their tired eyes as he had spent the better part of the morning... Or what would have been morning at Heliopolis, Data-crawling the Strike's OS to adjust it for Allan to pilot it at his own request.

The outlook? Not so well, Kira could only pilot it because of inherent sensory advantages of being a Coordinator and Allan couldn't pull Manual Control without some level of assistance, not that he'd felt confident enough to survive against a whole squad of Aces in equally superior Suits.

"Don't you have that other Nerd friend of yours? Buskirk or something?" Kira shook their head, having already known that unfortunately, Kuzzey wouldn't be of much help. "Then we're shit-out-of-luck. Let's hope there's some computer nuts over at Artemis."

"I'm not so sure we're in smooth sailing, Parsec..."
>>
>>6360367

Turning both towards the arriving Mu La Flaga, Allan scoffs at the Ace as Kira gives a curt nod.

"I appreciate you helping out with Maintenance with Chief Mechanic Murdoch out of Comission, Kid." Kira could only wince once again at the Mechanic he could only barely save back at Heliopolis, currently in a sedated recovery state after profound oxygen deprivation damages "But you should know command gave YOU the machine, Not Allan."

For their part the former test pilot just groaned as Mu reminded him of the reality of feeling powerless against the ZAFT assault "Don't you feel like a bastard sending him off to fight the battles we should be having?"

Kira remained quiet as the Ace vouched for them... Obly for Mu to nod "Says you, My Zero's operational and from the sounds you've been making while I've been doing hands-on maintenance. You can't pilot the Strike as anything other than a coffin" Allam scoffed once again, deciding to take their leave from the hangar bay as Kira tried their hardest to resolve the Software issues the pilot assist has.

His mind still clouded with guilt as he looks over their shoulder, mechanics bay overburderned as Captain Ramius oversaw upon them wearing the jumpsuit they had donned upon Heliopolis.

"I understand the apprehension, the situation's far from Peachy. But consider this, Kid." Mu motioned as he laid a hand over the young man's shoulder "You're the only person who can pilot the Strike, and for now, You and I are the only ones who can defend the Archangel for however long it'll take us to reach Artemis. Maybe it's not what you'd like... But it is what only you can do"

Mu patted them before shuffling off from the Hangar bay as he made their way to the bridge, Leaving Kira once again with his thoughts.

Guilt, Grief, Hopelessness and yet... Only he can do this

His mind wanders towards his confrontation with Athrun after the colony's destruction... And he really wonders if he really can fight, after all this
>>

Your strategy meeting with the Le Creuset Squad over the FLUGG's role goes...

Strangely aggresively.

"Yeah, I agree with Dearka, If you're carrying that firepower, why don't you just fire it at the damn legged ship and get it all over with?" Yzak accented away into the main counterargument for the plan.

"Are you sure you're going to be safe? One stray beam shot from either us or the Strike and it could all backfire terribly." Nicol argued away for the inherent danger that strapping the set of rockets over-exposed from the hull could be.

"I'll take my chances, the Pilot probably still has the colony falling apart fresh on their memory, I'm sure he'll prioritize me once I give chase" Noticing a nervous fidget from Athrun, you stare at him as he seems to realize. Steeling his gaze yet noticeably looking strained as you decide giving it no mind.

"But really? Are we just getting the Strike out and capturing it? Rusty's blood is on it! He could have-" Dearka commented, one final objection suddenly getting to Athrun's nerve as he glared at the dark-skinned ace.

"You shut the hell up about what Rusty'd done! We're capturing the Strike and it's final!" Athrun decided to prance out, Dearka caught offguard by the outburst as Yzak just pulled by their shoulder, deciding to prepare both the Duel and Buster for the operation...

"I... I'm not sure I get it." Nicol commented to you as you both made your way out of the pilot prep area "Athrun's been really on edge about the Strike... I know Rusty... Perished trying to hijack it. But... You know what I mean when I'm saying he feels uniquely different about it?" Nicol attempted to sort out Athrun's feelings and... Your own musings aside.

It was clear something was off.

The case however, was different as the Vesalius already had given level-3 battle alerts after sighting the Archangel, speeding ahead in order to pincer it.

It'd take a few minutes for the order to deploy to go ahead... But you and the FLUGG are all but ready

One thing remained on your mind as Nicol had commented.

The young ace was still figuring out functions within his Mobile Suit and that much was evident as they launched towards the Strike. Using their own command-unit antenna.

You had caught something until Athrun could tune it down... A name.

So when you floated up towards Athrun taking sips of their strawed-cup while checking intel sent by the Vesalius...

He didn't give much thought as you asked about the Aegis being an explicit commander unit, although he does manage to admit he feels... Unworthy of it, just like with their CGUE...

But that was only building up to the question altogether as you made sure you both were alone within the halls of the Nemo.

"Athrun... At the colony. Who's Kira Yamato?"
>>
>>6361556

Athrun came to a dead stop upon the hallways of the Nemo, tensing upright and a twitching eyelid immediately letting you know he was already projecting a guard.

"Where'd you...?!" His panic however, becomes reigned in not only because of his own attempt at keeping composure, but the acknowledgement that you had tried to keep this under wraps... "Where'd you heard that name...?"

You didn't bother to answer hin, hinself already running two and two together from the questions you had built up as you slowly raised your hand to their shoulders, Athrun slumping down their chin as he gazed towarss the cosmos from the window of the Nemo..

You feel uncomfortable pulling this card as Athrun noticeably eased down from their tense guard... But it works as he turns towards you "I can go without you telling me, but it's affecting your piloting aptitude... We've already lost one of ours and we don't want to lose you too."

Athrun raises their chin up as he weans off your grasp, breathing in deep as he seemed to compose themselves to the best of their ability.

"You can't tell anyone this, Miguel's close to blowing a gasket over the Strike and... And I don't even know if anyone or even I can process what's going on with it."

You raise an eyebrow confused at what he meant before he outright looked towards you.

"Kira Yamato... Is the pilot of the Strike, A Coordinator that I used to be close with before... All of this happened."

That's-...

That's a Coordinator fighting against ZAFT. You measure up what you even have to say before you piece something odd about how he-.

"But that's- that's because they're forcing or coercing them to, the Alliance! Kira said as much that they had their friends aboard that damned legged ship!" Athrun soon pulls off to tell further, as you raised an eyebrow.

You don't have a reason to think he's lying or deluding himself... But the thought does cross your head as you measure the reasonings behind a Coordinator in the Alliance.

"Athrun, you're fifteen... You used to know them but the April Fools Tragedy still occurred" You mull your thoughts over as Athrun widens their eyes.

You yourself are unsure how to feel upon it, you departed to Artemis from boot camp in the Alliance before it happened proper... To tell the truth, you're even puzzled how to feel for it. It's a world you haven't experienced and only have heard remarks or statements of...

"I... But Kira wouldn't-..."

Athrun's attempt to reason that fact, or even that his friend had changed in the interim of their departure... Is cut off as alert levels are raised to level-2
>>
Rolled 8 (1d100)

>>6361876

You let the topic go untouched as you and Athrun made way to the hangar bay to launch proper.

Forgoing the questions and complications that had arisen in order to proceed with an Operation that had been dubbed Pied Piper as per Vesalius command.

The first order of business being your own unit carried away into the launching rail, Margellan doing some final inspections with your help...

"Rollo was just given new orders, coincidentally, he's going to draw their fire and attention." Margellan let you informed as you nodded to it "Bastard's a dick. But I don't want to see him or his crew sunk just 'cause we need a distraction and lure for that Mobile Suit. Make sure of that." answering the Captain with a Roger, you take hold of your piloting controls as you recall the first step of the plan...

The Gamow would lure out the Archangel with a possibility for Danger, ship-to-ship combat precarious with its current damages, but affordable with the proper defenses the ship has as they would deploy the Strike for reinforcement...

"Frieden Moon! FLUGG Red Jacket. Launching!"

Magnetic coils immediately launch you out of the platform of the Nemo as you quickly thrust in ahead, configurations of the cosmo-cruiser already in effect to close the distance on the Archangel and give them a good lookout at the weaponry affixed into the Red-accented frame of your mobile armour.

It would then be easy enough to Maneuver them into the waiting Le Creuset Squad, taking a backseat from leading the deployed Strike away and intent on distracting it from effective countering at the expense of their battery.

It was a good plan on paper.

Yet, a rippling wave crawls up your spine as you notice the Archangel deploying something outright... A glint of orange barely seen by your eyes.

Before it directly heads towards you!

You could only confirm the silhouette of the space craft dashing ahead of you before it made itself clear as day... Wired Gunbarrels dettaching from its flanks.

A cold shiver runs through your spine as you quickly call out the presence of The Hawk of Endymion towards the Nemo and the rest of the Le Creuset Squad before engaging combat mode maneuvers.

>Dogfight = 61 [Minour Success]

You fired, trusting your gut instinct as the Mobile armour yoked out of the under-mounted machine gun of the FLUGG, using the full range of vision your linear cockpit gave you to-!

Dodge away of the fire of their remote weapons, almost grazing towards your protruding rockets.

"Le Creuset said that damned ship only had the Strike in it!" Margellan's complaints heard over your encrypted radio, you just grunt, engaged in a cagey situation wherein your every move could be stepping ahead into readied fire from all angles.

Still, you struggle ahead, cut off from the most direct route as the Moebius-Zero deploys another linebarrel in a ever-so-succesful attempt to shoot at your exposed rockets before you engaged firing distance with the ship...

Gritting your teeth as close calls start piling up their razor's edge ever so close to your neck.

The Le Creuset squad waited for the Strike to be called out as sighted.

The plan would have all four G-Weapos cornering the Strike, overwhelming it at all ranges and letting it exhaust its battery as each of the Gundam pilots worn it down one-by-one...

A plan that, however, kept them all tense as Frieden warned of the presence of the Hawk of Endymion within the operational area.

"Athrun, what the hell are we waiting for?!" Yzak argued forth, watching the live feed of the FLUGG and Zero's dogfight within the Nemo's extended sensors.

The group was tense, no less from the death of their friend Rusty... The tension-filled balance of the fight between Natural Aces wearing thin on their patience.

After all, The FLUGG could tag the Moebius, for certain. But one singular, precise shot from the Alliance Ace, no matter how much the prideful silver-haired Ace thought the concept of an Alliance Ace was laughable...

One shot could spell another death in the squad

Composure Check = 6 [Majour Failure]

"Fuck the plan!" Yzak cracked first under the possibility as Athrun gasped, stunned as the Duel flagged a green light for deployment "Nicol, Dearka! We're not letting the Natural get themselves killed just for showing off!"

Athrun immediately held back the Duel as it attempted to prop itself up into the launching rail "Yzak, wait! We don't have confirmation on the Strike!" Only to be brushed off crudely with a bash of the unit's shield!

"Off my way! To hell with the Strike! Command's hearing you out just 'cause you're Councilman Zala's son... And I ain't going to stand for it!"

Quickly enough, the Blitz and Buster flagged themselves up for deployment, Athrun suddenly realizing his plan was being ousted off away as Yzak firmly placed themselves to lead the charge...

A full frontal assault against the Moebius-Zero going into shape as he remained unable to wrest focus into the Strike

"Duel Gundam, Yzak Joule... Launching!"
>>
>>6363020

You struggle as you wade away from the Linebarrel's fire...

The FLUGG's mobility and vision advantages not managing to get through fully unharmed, having managed to turn some close grazes in using the Red Jacket's armouring.

But right now... Right this moment.

Beams suddenly fly past you, startling your heart only to look back as the general direction of the attacks is targeted at the Moebius.

"Natural! Change of Plan, Sink the Archangel!" Yzak calls out towarss you through comms, as you suddenly find yourself stunned in confusion?

What?! Who's ordered this?

Finding yourself rid of the assault of the Moebius, you have a clear shot ahead of the archangel, Leg ports opening up as a launching catapult's engaged... And yet, so is it that the remains of their weapon suite come active as you closed the distance.

"Frieden, Don't!"

You find yourself suddenly stopped from taking the open shot as the Aegis thrusts itself into the battle, arriving late but at faster speeds than their remaining units by use of their mobile armour mode.

"Stick to the plan! Yzak and the others can keep the Moebius pilot busy! But I need you!

The sudden intermission of Athrun. Remarking a plan that kept constantly shifting as the remaining members of the Le Creuset Squad chased away the Moebius from an effective defense of their respective mothership...

There really is no more golden opportunity to take a shot than now... Were it not for the plan to call on never using them.

The Aegis shifts back into humanoid form, blocking with their beam-coated shield ahead of you as you're snapped into reality.

Athrun may have wanted to capture the Strike... To capture their friend and maybe, through the spirit of the plan... Give rest to Rusty's soul through the complete capture of their would-be machine.

You empathize... But that is not going to happen with the Archangel still fighting back.

Heeding Margellan's attempt to try and not delve into brutality has you recourse your focus to the remaining beam cannon of the battleship.

A target of incredible importance as your lock-on confirms.

First, while we were on an undercover mission inside the colony, he decides to swing down and attack us after noticing we were piloting the astray frame instead of trying to attack the strike, the truck containing the strike's weapons, or the people below. And this was right after from his perspective where he was thinking something like "there's still big problems among my own forces" while fighting Mu. He then singled us out and if we'd reacted slower only the captains would've known where we were, but it would've been seen as "MIA during the chaos of the destruction of Heliopolis" rather than an assassination by the commander since we hadn't communicated the capture of the green frame.

Then just now we strapped rockets to our hull based on the information he gave us in our briefing, where he neglected to mention the presence of the Hawk of Endymion, and this almost resulted in our getting blown up. He probably would've responded along the lines of: "oh I didn't know he was there, what a tragedy for such a promising young man, but showing off has led many to an early grave, no?"

Bottom line, he really wants to get rid of us as cleanly as he can. It probably has to do with our sensing him so well during our ZAFT training, my guess is we're seen by him as an actual way this war may stop, which would go counter to his goal of the destruction of humanity, but I'm not 100% sure.

I don't know how much things have been shifted around in this quest, but in SEED he had a real hate-boner for humanity and wanted to guide it to it's "inevitable end" since people "don't want to understand". Given both sides of this conflict are revealed to be pretty extremist, it was actually possible to happen.

A twitch of a finger.

A singular moment of focus amongst the coming storm.

Precision discarded away as the need for being combat-abled outweighed engaging with the plan as you let out and scatter the full racks of D-Type missiles

>Destroyer-Type Cluster = 88 [Majour Success]

The four missiles scattered disorderly yet roughly along an area of CIWS defense turrets, the remaining main beam cannon and the protruding outward facing cannons, solid hits instantly cratering the surfaces of Nanolaminate armour incorporated into its hull...

An ill-feeling running abound your spine as the Archangel's Mobile Suit catapult glows red hot.

"Kid, I could use some backu here!" My called out for Kira as the pilot positioned their mobile suit in the launching rail.

Fact which is clearly seend and worried every member on the bridge command... former and just recently enlisted both.

"Lohengrin, Fire!" Badgiruel gave out the order, even with one of the emitters damaged by a D-Type volley...

Through skillfull corralling from the Hawk of Endymion's evasive maneuvers to sheer happenstance is it that all approaching ZAFT units have to disperse as the antimatter beam flies off blindly towards the location of the Nazca-Class pincering them.

"Well, goddamn it! That's the other cannon down!" Allan complained upon finishing damage reports with Neumann "Haul out the Gottfrieds! Stern-most side CIWS are down!"

Leaping forth towards another targetting computer, Badgiruel raised her eyebrow but didn't comment as the stressed out captain of the Vessel did for her "You're not hitting Mobile Suits with it, Lieutenant Parsec-!" Her complaints however, seem to rub the earthen ace the wrong way as he snaps back.

"Shut the hell up! I'm not planning on taking shots alone like this... New Girl! Get the Kid in formation!" As the ace shouted order, Mirialia Haw, just barely managing to accept her reality as the Archangel's supplanting comms officer, nods away nervously before contacting down into the Hangar.

"Kira... Kira! You've got permission to launch, do so ASAP!"

Kira shivered, gripping their controls even harder...

If Mu had told him only he and them could defend the Archangel as it is...

And their friends... Now readily enlisting themselves into various roles of the ship to support him...

"Kira! Launching in fifteen seconds!" Tolle raised up their voice as the assistant engineer was helped out by the remaining crew in preparing the launch "Give 'em a wallop and send them packing! You got this!"

All of it.

And of all of everything... Everyone's got placing their hopes on him...

>Surprise Attack = 90 [Majour Success]

You clench your teeth, dodging away as the Strike feinted, deploying a barrage of CIWS in your general direction as you dashed and boosted away of their effective range-.

Right as Athrun kicks them away with a out-stretched kick, the two machines immediately squaring each other with their rifles as they pulled back, mutual shots missing across them.

"Kira, Damn it! I'm trying to help you!" Athrun reasoned again with their old friend in the Strike as the Aegis proceeded to loom across it, dodging shots as you prowled likewise.

"That-!" Kira stopped, yelling loudly on the comms as he missed clear shots with their rifle at the Red Machine "Why did ZAFT destroy Heliopolis, we were all Neutral!"

The question stumps you in your attempt at a charge to the Strike's flank, failing to proceed with the rotation of the attacks as just a slight few seconds of doubt-.

Made the Strike lock dead-set on your craft.
>>
>>6364463

The Creuset's Squad haunting the Hawk of Endymion pushed the Ace far beyond their breaking point.

Three high-performance experimental machines vs one that was phased-out as old news... It was rather laughable how much the disparity between them was at a specs level

Which meant that Mu la Flaga had to get particularly crafty and inventive as he recalled multiple engagements he had had in his military career.

>All-Range Attack = 34 [Minour Failure]

An Enemy trying their hardest to keep a perimeter for a sniping position is often far more immobile than they'd think of.

"Dearka, trail the shot after them. You're wasting energy!" Yzak called forth as they kept the pursuit on the Moebius, firing out their CIWS vulcans in an attempt to graze and inutilize one of their linebarrel cannons.

Dearka himself sweating cold as he had to also worry on fire from the Archangel, Phase-Shift protecting them from harm but weaning off their-.

"What the-?!" Dearka however Did not realize the two linebarrels that had sneaked away on the distance from their unit, attempting to push away from their position....

And getting the Buster riddled with shots, precisely aiming at its arm joints as the Phase-shift armour, powerful enough to leave it practically spotless, wasn't strong enough to mitigate the recoil. The buster's combined weapon rods flying off its hands "Damn it, this guy's cracked!" Dearka pushed off, chasing away for their weapon.

Just as Yzak faked a retreat from their pursuit, allowing the Blitz to corner down the Moebius...

Usually, those that may stand in the sidelines aren't well-aware of the long-range support at the point they jump in.

>Blitz Attack = 7 [Majour Failure]

"Now!" Mu yells out swinging the nose of their craft downwards along with the swing of the black mobile suit-.

As at that point, a precise coordinated call-out comes from the Archangel. Allam Parsecs aiming squarely as four Gottfried shells impact the Blitz squarely in the chest...

The smoke clearing out from the impact as it laid motionless, phase-shift winding down.

"Nicol!"
>>
>>6364734

This chicken of Endymion's dead meat!

Dearka quickly pulled by, recovering their weapons and the motionless Blitz before scampering away, the Buster having found itself unable to shoot more beam. Shots as they covered their escape with a salvo of missiles.

>Braveheart Duelist = 76 [Minour Success]

The Duel prevailed away, using their shield and their honed instinct to keep the par with the Alliance Ace on their lonesome...

"Out of my way, Mongrel!" the Duel's pilot shot away a beam into the open space, finally hitting one of the moebius' pods as it explodes, releasing its spooled wiring.

And making the Ace smirk as they now pressed the advantage despite the initial setbacks.

Yet... He could notice something by a glance, another duel... Albeit, far more taciturn.

The Strike Gundam had deployed using yet again, another unknown weapons configuration... Yzak had heard some fata of them had resurfaced after being cross-referenced with the spied-on meeting and the Computers of the rest of the G-Weapons.

But it was mostly evident that Little Devil's absurd plane wasn't fully equipped to do lasting damage to the Strike and Athrun was holding back, noticeably so

Reason enough for the redcoat ace to scoff ahead, readying into battle as they leave the dazed Moebius in the dust!

The FLUGG wildly turning over its axis, the Strike's beam rifle shooting at it as your evasive maneuver makes your entire linear cockpit blind itself with the ensuing green beam-!

But you come out unharmed, suddenly feeling out the scant distance left abound of your craft...

And a feeling of complete, disarming incredulity. Coming away from the Strike before it is forcefully disarmed by a kick from the Aegis

"Don't you ever do that!" Athrun yelled out, consumed just for a moment by sheer anger at the close call before the Strike pulled out something from over its shoulders-.

A beam rifle swing cleanly cleaving through the barrel of the Aegis' Beam rifle as it explodes in the Mobile Suit's hand.

The Aegis recoils, only for the Strike to kick it off and away, your fighting chance soon coming up as you deploy your vulcans and missiles across the Strike's hull, weaponry that while draining the battery of the Mobile Suit...

Could hardly be described as actually harming it...Until something who could do so, appeared.

As the Duel rocketted upwards, slamming the Strike's head with their own shield, You and Athrun could only look in askance as the Strike attempted to counter the Charge.

>Duel = 88 [Majour Success]

Yzak was faster on the draw quickly squaring a hit on the Strike's sword arm as the phase-shift was forced to take the strength of the full scorching blow, recoiling back...

As the unfortunate reality of the three-on-one duel suddenly befelled the Pilot, who started an attempt ar making an escape, doubling back just as Yzak threw away their own Rifle.

"Face me, Natural Coward! Not so hot now that you aren't fighting a bleeding heart and one of your ilk, Huh?!" Yzak's cruel remarks shock you as they pursued the fleeing strike.

"Yzak! The plan! The Strike can't-" Athrun tried to affirm control over the situation as Yzak barked back.

You let Athrun rev up on the distance, drawing fire from the Archangel as you flew closer to it...

The Duel's melee scuffle with the Strike becoming increasingly one-sided as the latter's pilot missed every single of their shots on the saber-wielding mobile Suit-.

That is until a singular swing to their weapon imbalanced the whole fight, the Strike's beam rifle exploding at its side as it threw it off out of reflex to it being sliced apart-.

A maneuver that already made their battered form and rapidly depleting battery give in as the Strike's hull begins to turn a shade of gray.

Miguel, formerly leading far ahead in the formation stopping dead on their tracks as they watched the Strike having been captured... And swung their fist abound.

"Damn it, Athrun! You should have destroyed it!" Miguel yelled out as their voice quivered between measured and livid "I'll see the pilot myself! He better be prepared to pay for the-!"

After almost losing their emotional control. Miguel is snapped back to the situation as Olor reminds them "Commander! We have a window, let's go!"

Miguel glared one last time at the captured unit, his fist clenching onto the controls of their cockpit... Before rocketing far ahead, leaving his formation at a distance as the Ace would curse his situation...

As the Archangel would prepare their last means of defense, A barrage of CIWS, missiles and cannon shells pouring out of it.

You grit your teeth, looking around your surroundings as you ascertain a feint feeling of uncertainty in the air... No less helped by the screaming going between Athrun and Yzak.

"I had them dead to rights! Why the hell are we lugging the Strike and the asshole piloting it back to the Vesalius?!" Yzak argued away, as you uncomfortably looked around the Duel with your linear cockpit setup.

"I HAD a Plam, Yzak! Now Dearka and Nicol are out-of-comission because you deployed ignoring mine and Le Freuset's orders-!" Athrun's own rationalization of the plan, made you raise an eyebrow, because he sounded out-of-breath.

And a tingling sensation running across the nape of your neck as you disengage from Athrun and Yzak, who started trailing beam rifle shots at the speeding orange craft.

It struck you as... Unusually serendipitous for this to happen.

Likewise mirorring the Hawk of Endymion's accolades as lone survivor of their special unit and the man who allowed a number of Alliance forces a clean getaway amongst the disaster.

Which is how as you recovered from the wild barrel roll, you looked back to see the Strike attempting to flee, Yzak turning the duel's head towards it-.

"What?! That's crazy!" The senior-most engineer aboard the Archangel complained upon the plan that the Bridge had suggested, holding tightly as an explosion rocks the Archangel "We're opening a catapult hatch while under siege! What if the pack gets shot down?!"

His complaints fall on deaf ears, As the First Lieutenant in the other side of the line scoffed and cursed at them... Right as Tolle listened intently to the plan.

The power packs in the Striker Pack units... That's how it could fight back in Heliopolis for so long.

"Kira..." He couldn't help but get worried by the sheer merit of how thin the rope his best friend was walking along defending them all...

How could he stand there...? Doing nothing but worrying when Kira's fighting-!

"Koenig! Eyes up, Bridge has the timing but we still have to stand-by for the power!" The Senior engineer snapped Tolle out of his own musings as he took a look to the catapult hatch controls...

Keeping the Moebius busy was far more demanding than you'd had thought, but you prepared to that reality as you faced another Ace forged under the heat of the Grimaldi Front.

Dodging away of Railgun fire, the Moebius charges in, gritting your teeth as you keep pace and block them from getting cleanly away to aid the Strike...

Who by your own side-glance, had just gotten disarmed off their shield by an approaching GINN, ramming the mobile suit with their shoulder as the rest of the three-man squad followed behind it.

It can be all over... Just hold the Ace for a bit!

You widen your eyes however, as a sharp sensation jabs at your back, suddenly disengaging from the fighting as the Moebius' front sends out a rocket anchor, almost hitting you if not for the sudden maneuver that instinctually overtook you.

However, having done that, the Moebius charges ahead, anchor snapoing back to its main body as it trails behind the Aegis in Mobile Armour configuration!

A scant feeling unnerves you as you saw even further, the Catapult of the Archangel sending out... Something that you can't quite recognize at the distance.

But as the Strike reached forth towards it... You realize you only have two missiles left in the FLUGG's chambers.

Wildly setting your lock off as you pirouette away from a projectile! looking back to see the Ginn that had held the Strike back struck and stunned by a knife sticking to the connection between its head and torso.

Right as the Strike outpaces with surprising mobility as they ditched the backpack unit mounted on itself!

"Goddamit!" Yzak yelled out as you noticed the Duel having recovered its beam rifle in the struggle with the Moebius "You aren't going to walk out of this alive, you hear me?!"

Adjusting your shaky lock, the Duel prepared a rocket grenade strapped to an under-barreled chamber under their beam rifle...

As the Strike slided into position for the piece of equipment sent its way...You fired

The missiles and grenade impact the strike, creating a flash of light and a plume of smoke that made you unable to look at the result, maneuvering back towards Yzak's side.

"Bagged him!" Yzak exclaims out with a proudly confident tone "Athrun, get Miguel out of the danger zone! We're finishing-"

Your heart stops for a moment, skipping a beat as a primal chill runs through your entire body.

You bolt out of the way, ejecting the red jacket as it weighed the FLUGG down before Yzak's command is interrupted by a startled grasp of incredulity.

As He dodges, a second too late as the FLUGG's jacket and the Duel's rifle and right arm melt down from the impact and residual heat of the beam outcoming from the plume of smoke.

And the Strike itself coming out of it. The GINN squad in tow drop down their D-Type equipment as they hurriedly pulled their rifles

"Yzak, Frieden! Pull back!" Olor calls out as one of the GINN's begin firing at the Strike, it deftly dodging around their fire line "O'Roarke! Cover my flanks!"

Matthew's GINN moved likewise, the Strike now being cornered as it cleared the line for their missile launcher, a salvo of three missiles flowing out from the port in its shoulder... Just as you saw Yzak ignite their beam saber!

"Are you stupid!?" You call out to them, Yzak groaning out in impotent anger "Take the exit! You can't fight with your unit like this!"

Even as you yelled at them, The duel stared intently at the ensuing fight from the Strike and the pair of GINN's, their maneuvers cleverly countered as it revealed an auto-cannon catching Matthew by surprise...

"Damn it all...! Shut up!" Yzak soon boosted out as they're given the exit, you likewise following along as you saw Olor's GINN hit by a heavy vulcan, staggering just in the moment as the Strike armed their large beam cannon.

You winced, the Strike shooting out it's powerful beam cannon as Olor could obly recover at the very last moment!

As their unit's immediately clipped all the way down through the waist by it, Olor screaming out from the impact until his communications suite shutdown... As a fusselage part from their cockpit jettisons with a loud hydraulic discharge!

>Endurance Roll = 14 [Olor has survived with minour injuries]

You sweeped in, the smaller profile and quick movement of the FLUGG letting you quickly pass by the damaged mobile suit as you do an emergency opening of your cockpit, it sliding up instantly as you scoop and catch Olor within it...

Dashing out of the way as Precise Linebarrel fire now joins the powerful beam launcher discharges, Olor's GINN getting detonated with a precise shot to its exposed cockpit as you see it from behind with your linear cockpit.

The young man... Only clutches their rightmost side, no apparent damage clearly being visible.

"Rout! Operation Pied Piper's failed! Retreat right now!" Athrun's commands are heeded as the Aegis fired a covering shot for Matthew to retreat with their Mobile Armour cannon.

Dropping out Miguel's GINN as they float, removing the knife that had been stuck to its mobile suit's neck.

"I'm not running like a coward again!" Miguel yelled out as they grabbed a floating rack of D-Type missiles "I am the Shooting Bullet of Dusk! I'm not getting outpassed by some pseudo-psychic Ace and some Natural in a prototype suit!"

"Miguel! No! Retreat!" Athrun affirmed once again before the Ace yelled out!

"Die! Natural Dog!"

Miguel Aimann had enough of getting upstaged by the Strike and its Natural Pilot... Against all common sense, his wounded pride was all that mattered to him.

The missile blast is sent out from the rack, Miguel's damaged GINN getting sent back from recoil-.

Just for the missiles to be intercepted by Linebarrel fire. A Plume of smoke covering visibility and the expansive force knocking the Mobile Suit he was piloting back, damaged hydraulic response and a now cracked main sensor camera leaving them flailing and struggling for control.

"Damn it all!" Miguel struggled with cancelling the recoil... As the sudden uncertainty of their situation sprang up a chilling callback...

To that of Heliopolis Colony and Endymion, One of being rendered helpless and the other... Of almost stepping into horror. If not for the Natural Pilot in their ranks.

No! He must remain-!

The smoke clears as the Moebius Zero and Strike part through it, Linebarrel fire beginning to rain around the Damaged GINN as the Strike's eye's shone.

A primal fear being awakened in Miguel as it readied its rifle.

"Shit! No, No!" He called out unresponsive controls not giving him the ability to double away from his fate...

Were it not for their wingman to arrive at a moments notice. Tackling Miguel's own GINN aside

"Commander! Run!" Matthew called out, firing back against the Moebius and Gundam with their rifle as Miguel's GINN finally responded to the controls-.

Only for the arm and leg joints of Matthew's GINN to explode from precise linebarrel fire, the Strike arriving in as it jabbed the barrel of it's large cannon into the cockpit of the GINN, a primal, guttural yell being heard in comms-.

"C-Commander!!"

A panicked yell coming out as in just a split second...

The cockpit became embellished in that Beam's power, warping and melting aside as it is pushed through it's sheer force. Exploding outright.

[ Matthew O'Roarke has Died, Miguel Aimann has lost the will to fight and retreated. ]

The disorderly Rout was... Devastating for morale.

Hearing out Olor barely struggle to contain gasping in pain in your cockpit only addled Athrun and Yzak's arguing within the comm waves on the operation's command and disastrous ending.

But you all docked down in emergency landings on the Nemo, helping out the Medbay on rolling back Olor to immediate treatment as you remained by the FLUGG's side...

It getting maintained as you just stared at it...

This... This Sucks. You can't help but feel down entirely by-.

"Yo."

Margellan floated beside you as he gave you a calorie bar "Don't stew it in, damn thing's not getting serviced faster just 'cause you're looking at it" The man pockets the pack of food in their coat as you just sigh.

"We failed to make a dent... I even failed to find the spy and Heliopolis has been destroyed because I-..." Margellan raised their hand up as you shushed, letting him explain as he adjusted their glasses.

"Arisman made it out just fine given the kind of distraction they got... Heliopolis was unfortunate, but I want you to keep in mind that even if you're an elite squad." The short, blonde-haired man with the ponytail explained away as he bit into their own calorie bar "Sometimes, Ops don't go their way, It may even go fully sideways given the weight in your ranks. But... You're alive, Natural. It's unfortunate I can't say the same for O'Roarke. But this outcome compared to the early days of the Gravity Front is favorable within that scope."

You muddle within your own feeling at what he meant but... There was objectively the truth about still being alive, for another day that is...

And that eases you enough for you to stabilize your demeanour and occupy your time.

You had to rethink Garodo's own thoughts about Margellan when he approached you like this unprompted...

Maybe he does care more than what's demanded of him by Supreme Chairman Clyne... That'd be-.

Your train of thought's derailed as you unwrapped the packaging of the calorie bar, your sense of smell being overpowered by a coarse, strong odour wafting from within it... It's not unpleasant, but it's-

You take a bite before gagging at the unexpectedly strong taste of Cheese nearly repelled you, Margellan raising an eyebrow as he bit on theirs easily "What? Not to your liking, Natural?" Margellan's raised eyebrow furrows down as you just pout at him.

"Why does it taste like cheese?! It's a calorie bar, not a snack-!" You complain as Margellan already rolled their eyes at you before folding their arms.

"It's both, Moron. And it's the original flavour of these things, it lasted centuries unchanged and you're going to go out acting like it's anything but an enduring classic?" You just bite down quickly on the rest of the bar "Hey! Slow down, Dickhead! You're messing with the caloric intake-!"

You bid your thanks and farewells to Margellan as you try to channel out the cheese flavour off your mouth and...

Perhaps choose to search for a disappeared man aboard the Nemo... The Magic Bullet of Dusk having not had the best track record since Heliopolis, hadn't been taking it well... But you saw him drift off different after this one.

You hope you won't have to comb across all of the Nemo for them, but you'll do it if you have to

Within the Archangel's hangar, the Strike Gundam had been caught in nets, servicemen already on the double for patching up damages to the Phase-shift armour and taking count of resupply counts within the Mobile Suit.

As the job of clearing the Strike's cockpit came in, Tolle strangely found himself joined by First Lieutenant Parsec as the young man took offense "What the hell are you doing here? Get off and-"

Tolle's suggestion is immediately rejected as the Ace looked back to him with a threatening stare "Mind your damn business and help me pop the kid out open."

Tolle bit the remark he wanted to deliver to the agressively demanding Ace as the skeleton crew of engineers finally set the cockpit open "The hell's wrong with the pilot? He's not cooperating with getting out."

Tolle's pulse raised as he also noticed the frown in Parsec's face being changed with a concerned raise of the eyebrows.

But in short time, the cockpit came out and open...

As the young coordinator pilot, stared motionless, eyes glazed over and breathing shallow breaths.
>>
>>6370644

It did... Take you a while to find them, though asking the mess hall if he had retrieved a Ration for himself did give you some pointers on where'd he would be.

Hidden away in a storage area, the Ace bit off a bread piece, seemingly brooding alone. You approached carefully as they noticed you.

Brow furrowing as he glared at you "Get out of here and leave me alone. Natural" Miguel's command goes on deaf ears as you just drift towards them.

He doesn't... Neigh out any objections, but you still wanted to check on them after Matthew's death particularly as the latter had sacrificed themselves for him.

You didn't however, expect to see someone else join you as they drifted from behind Aimann, the Ace suddenly acknowledging their presence with a startled jump "What the-?! Where did you creep from you Freak-!?" The young woman in the redcoat jacket raised a finger as she glared between you and him.

Arisman interrupted them swiftly at that "It's curtains for you, Aimann." The Ace raised an eyebrow, lip quivering for a moment "Three units lost, two men from your unit down... I dare say, Command's willing to heft responsibility on the failures at Heliopolis on your rash and obsessive behaviour with if they're willing." The young woman listed off methodically as the Ace's right eyelid twitched, yourself now close to them as you-.

"Where's the proof of any of that?! You think you can-!?" Miguel ceases to shout at the young woman as she just gave him a stern yet sternfully controled glare.

"That is... Only at the worst possible scenario." She rolled her eyes to stare at you "I can however, Guarantee that Le Creuset is reconsidering your assignment under his command."

You frown slightly, finding the constant antagonism of the Redcoated spy on a superior officer rather tenuous but... Miguel has no rebuttal about it.

Taking in the silence, the Spy gives a curt bow as they drift away from the scene, eyeing up the repairs crew from afar before properly getting out of sight.

"Damn it... I screwed up all my effort for this!"
>>
>>6371778

The defeated tone in Miguel's voice... Was unlike anything you've ever heard from the prideful ace as they float towards a wall, smacking it with the bottom of their bunched-up fist.

"Two years of perfect service! Down the drain because... Because a damn Natural baited me into-!" You suddenly put your hand on his shoulder, as the Ace shoves you off him "I don't need your damn pity! Less of the likes of you!" Recoiling back, the Ace looks at you in the eyes as you try and maintain your cool... And not try and show concern for the increasingly despairing blonde pilot.

"Like... There's no way a Natural could beat me, I-I'd beat you! I'd do it in a heartbeat... What the hell am I going to do now?!" Miguel covers their head, panicking at the prospect of being reassigned as you... Finally raise an eyebrow.

"What's wrong with reassignment?" The answer seemed so obvious to you, at least knowing the general news in ZAFT's engagements.

The earthen fronts with the least coverage in state media such as South America, Siberia or Mainland Europe.

"It's not it... If I get reassigned by Le Creuset himself, that's docking my pay!" You... Were about to find yourself uniquely angry that the source of anguish in this would be a pay cut... But you let it slide as he explained "I never did tell you why I joined ZAFT in the first place... But I need the hazard pay and everything involved with being a Soldier because of it."

You raised an eyebrow once again, asking inquisitively on it as Aimann looked to be reconsidering even telling you... Until he relents.

"It's... My little brother. Edouard. He has Type-2 Influenza"

It... Had been a long while since you've heard that name.

The millennium-defining plague that had if not kickstarted, heavily aided the resentment between Coordinator and Natural.

"He's about the same age as Nicol and the others... Damn it! We are Coordinators, so why did that sickness affect him too?! We were immune!"

While it had been predicated as that much... Siegel Clyne himself had proven that not to be the case as he had met with you.

No doubt linked to the imperfections of Coordinator Gene Editing, while most were resilient to it. Not all of them were immune to the yet-to-be-cured virus.

But seeing how vulnerable the sheer notion of it is making him...

You had been prepared for it as the entire Le Creuset squad is called for a transmission.
>>
>>6371779

It seemed Margellan and Mayano were right on Le Creuset eventually having to answer for the fallout of Heliopolis... But that he'd summoned Athrun alongside him...

"M-Me?... Why Me?" Athrun was the first one to talk as Le Creuset asked for input on the last set of orders.

"You're... Experienced. The best within our squad and... As a personal request of Chairman Zala. He wishes to see and hear of the findings in Heliopolis and the limits of the Specifications in these Gundam Suits." Le Creuset clarified as Yzak shot a glare at Athrun, who likewise felt oddly alienated by the request of his appearance "Anything else to add? I only wish the best after the losses that have been unfortunate to befell us, Kudenbru and Aimann shall join us for medical evacuation and... Reassignment. Respectively."

Miguel's face went pale, as likewise the rest of the Le Creuset Squad shot concerned stares at the Ace.

"Not so fast on that, Rau."

As Margellan strolled ahead into the camera's view, Le Creuset:s expression remained unfazed as the short captain of the Nemo pulled a mechanic's glove off their right hand.

"High-Vis Orange's being requested by me to helm up defenses on the Nemo. Seeing as you're taking the Vesalius along with giving command on the Archangel's chase to Adres on the Gamow. Which. I'll tell you. Rollo's blowing a Gasket over getting shipjacked like that." Dearka stifles a cackle from the imaginary image, as Yzak elbows him on the arm in order to maintain order.

"Hmnn... Granted, We'll be in contact as soon as we reach the PLANTs. Zala, Joule, Elsman, Moon." As Le Creuset adressed everyone in his squad by name, Miguel dumbstruck at the opportunity had come along. "Bid my farewells and a recount of these orders to Nicol from my part. I expect the best in my absence. Le Creuset, Out."

You drop out of the Salute as Margellan approached you, muttering almost inaudibly as he passed by you "You owe me a ton of fucking data for this shit. He acts like a Prima Donna and I'm going to throttle him. And you as well."

You nod to that... Were it not for the fact he turns to face you, the rest of the entourage leaving.

"Still... I want to speak to you in private, but make your mind of where you're going."

>Stay in the Nemo, chasing the Archangel along the Gamow and the three other G-Weapons

Explaining away to Margellan in their office does allow you to explain properly what was your plan as is.

"Well, Le Creuset has no proper reason to deny it. Even without properly explaining that Siegel's summoning you." Margellan finished their rather odorous calorie snack box as he stretches their upper body on their chair "You sure about bringing the Gundam Frame, however?"

You nod to that, as Margellan begins scribbling down notations within a notepad by his side "I figured it would help me integrate better with the reasoning for the trip. Le Creuset did order the Aegis be brought for Evidence and technically, the Green Frame's involved with the G-Weapons."

"Eh, Tangentially." Margellan commented as if slightly bothered by your comment "We did unearth some documentation and my suspicions on it being Morgenroete piggy-backing off the research data they got from the G-Weapons and the Alliance was true... And get this It has a numbered serial"

You raised your eyebrows at that... Could there potentially be more than one-?

"Don't get your hopes up though. It might as well be a revision number, a Trial designation. Fucking hell. It could be the main designer's lucky numbers." Margellan crosses their arms as they rip the note out of the pad "Now, before I give you an errands list... I have to talk about the messenger we were sent to pick up."

Margellan stood upright from their chair, abandoning the more relaxed posture they had on it as he turned on a holographic projector within his desk.
>>
>>6372807

A report personnel listing of one Mayano Arisman, Ruby-eyed glare staring sternfully back at you from her profiling picture

"I'll tell you something. I am really picky- No, I'm a bastard about the kinds of people I let into my projects and work. Ninety people personally interviewed, reviewed and accomodated for the Nemo's whole operation. I like knowing precisely who, what and how people do when I'm overseeing them..."

You are slightly disconcerted as you checked the report listing of Mayano, heavily involved in espionage and furtive actions yet only barely being sixteen years old...

It's a rather impressive sheet of successes with no failures, The excellence of ZAFT's coordinator troops clearly being shown through her but...

Margellan calls out to your attention as he snapped their fingers "Yeah, I had my doubts after doing this proper... But my issue is exacerbated by the messaging she's carrying along with you... And the results of the medical tests I had her undergoing for boarding."

Margellan taps onto a keyboard in their desk, the projections switching aside to a medical testing that immediately had you raising eyebrows.

Cognitive and Sensory testing coming out in exceptional fashion. The type you've only seen managed only in parts by experienced, Ace pilots like Lieutenant DesLisle and Miguel.

"I admit you fell into his hands when it comes to this, but I worked my ass off and built up my own influence before Siegel started consulting around me for working together... And this medical analysis had me immediately drawing to a conclusion that... I'd rather not think of"

You raised an eyebrow curiously as Margellan typed again on their keyboard... As you noticed the holographic interface struggling to load an ancient video codec, The Blond captain doing the work for it to run as you saw it.

Footage visibly dated to C.E 67. With no audio but a marking at its top-right corner indicating the location of the desert wasteland in the shot...

"Hey, wait... That date... In Sudan?"

You recognized it because it made news at that time even being young enough to not have minded it

"Figured it might jog your memory... Hope you understand then what I'm concluding when I say. She might be a Combat Coordinator"

Kira opened their eyes in a hurry, heart beating fast as their last possible memory had him pushed to the very limit of his capabilities.

And yet... He can't quite remember what situation led to it or how he managed to pull away from there, instead, finding himself in the Archangel's medbay as a crowd consisting of his friends from Heliopolis, The two Alliance Aces and the Ship's own captain.

"Fuck's sake! That was a scare!" Allan commented as they let out a deep blowing exhale "You doing fine, kid? We can't force you not to, but we aren't in a position for you to get shell-shocked."

Kira's shock is adjusted as he feels his hand grasped by Kuzzey, an intravenous syringe released away from it as he sighs "God, I swear this nursing course-..." The young man refused from complaining further as Kira glanced at them "Hey... You had us all worried for-!"

Kira however just looked down as he finally grasped the situation he'd gotten himself in.

"I don't want to pilot that thing anymore."

The statement cut away the tension within the room with pinprick precision as Mu moved in to grasp Kira's unmedicated hand... A hand Kira knew had been used as the trigger for the Strike's weapons/i].

"Listen, you did good there... Not perfect but ZAFT was repelled and we're all alive and well in the end. Nothing to be-!" Mu politely stepped back as he was pushed off by Tolle and Sai.

"How can you even say that?! He went into a stress induced catatonic state!" Sai argued for their friend's health "Yeah! Maybe he managed but-!"

"Kira's not your damn weapon to point at any of your ZAFT threats!" Tolle took off as he pointed accusations and touched Mu's chest, the Ace looking concerned "He's my best friend, and if you all think you can just toss him at danger and be merry about being safe in the end, then you've got-!"

"Is that all?"
>>
>>6373022

The disinterested tone in Parsec's voice irked Tolle as the former crossed their arms "I'm not going to downplay the concern. But we're not in optimal condition to worry about such minutiae... Unless you can pilot the Strike. Then you can start calling shots."

Tolle raised their fist and lunged at the Ace "Why'd you-?!" Crudely interrupted as the Ace leaned aside and manipulated the pre-empted punch into a hold, grabbing the arm and menacingly twisting it as the young assistant engineer cried out in pain.

"Let go of him, right now!" Kira called out as he prepared to pull off the bed covers, forcing Sai and Kuzzey to restrain him in the bed to recover as the Captain of the Archangel asserred her command.

"Parsec! Koenig! Cease this instant." The woman separated both as Parsec let go while scoffing.

"You got spunk. I'll say that again." Allam commented to Tolle as he nursed their strained arm along with their girlfriend. "But know your place to act with more than just the conviction to do it for." Allan looked over towards Kira, his usually sour and focused expression turning softer as the young pilot seemed nervous on their focus.

"Well, just for a little bit, we need you to keep going, however long it takes us to reach Artemis. Estimating at least a whole day." Mu commented before Allan extended their hand towards Kira.

"So... I'm impressed with your instinct to pilot. But right now, that doesn't translate to fighting... You help me out tinkering the machine so I can relieve you in short time and I'll teach you how to fight."

Kira knew that, in some regards, the ace pilot was the crewman aboard the Archangel who looked up for them the most. The short time he had been boarded within it... Much alike Lieutenant La Flaga yet, unlike the Hawk of Endymion. Parsec had fostered a genuine connection with the young coordinator. Flaws and all.

He didn't want to pilot the Strike and yet... He was the only one who could.

>January 27th, C.E 71

"Children don't grow up fast but I ran my data and Arisman's lived in the PLANTs for all of her infancy. Natural. The creation of Combat Coordinators has been banned in the PLANTs since its inception."

Margellan's various explanations of how wrong is it that Siegel Clyne has one of these answering exclusively to their orders and commands still dazzle your head...

In particular, because alongside Miguel and the rest of the Creuset Squad. Arisman herself watched off for your departure as if recording it for a report in her own mind.

And the Silence hadn't been kind to the sort of outward paranoia Margellan exuded that day in regards to Clyne. Your lonesome bunk begins to drill away at your patience before you were called to the bridge.

"A mock exercise?" Athrun seemed puzzled at Le Creuset's inquiry about both the Aegis and the Green Frame "Captain Le Creuset, shouldn't we focus on arriving at the PLANTs before-..."

"Correct." Le Creuset affirmed as Athrun remained confused about the purpose of this "But while we have combat data on the Aegis... I am rather puzzled why the Nemo couldn't manage to fully crack the possibilities of this... Green-Frame"

That singular explanation is why now you and Athrun have been equipped with modified paintball rifles...

"Heck yeah! I get to do something for once!" Garodo excitedly chirped as you began to warm up the Mobile Suit for deployment.

"It'll just be a mock battle exercise, Ten minutes of it before returning back for our orders to return to the PLANT colonies." Stretching your upper body as you adjust the fittings in your pilot helmet, Garodo hums mechanically for a few moments before a simulated snicker comes.

"I'm playing for keeps then! You'd best pull your A-Game Frieden!"

You chuckled at that, thoughts about Siegel Clyne's summons and the Gamow and Nemo chasing the Archangel still hanging heavy in your head... Yet readying to it anyway

>Try your hardest and try to one-up Athrun in the Aegis
>Experiment with the Green-Frame, surely Garodo can help figure stuff out while in a mock duel.
>Don't give it much mind and go into the mock duel with testing the machine as per usual.

You shook your head, readying to try and focus on the duel as you reminded yourself of the strange quirks and functions you had used the Green Frame on while in Heliopolis.

"You can move by yourself, can you?" Asking away at the onboard AI, It hums electronically as it considers the question.

"To a Limited degree stuff like moving sensor focus or leans fo hydraulics." So that explains it being able to move it's head and crudely move its limbs around "I help out best when I have an input to course and correct... That's at least how the Green Mirage System works" right...

Against that mystery model outside of Heliopolis, Garodo had activated that system and made it effortless to dodge attacks that you normally wouldn't be able to...

"Don't count on it to dodge for your own, there's a decent energy outcharge for the fancy incorporated verniers and getting rusty on defense as a pilot is just bad form." Garodo loads up a text interface as the Vesalius' begins countdown procedures for deployment "Besides, you're both using paint balls. Seems like a waste."

You nod to that, gripping your controls tighter as the Vesalius orders out.

"Frieden Moon. Gundam Astray Green Frame. Launching!"

The cre of the H.O.M.E had a very unfortunate case to present itself right at their doorstep.

"Poor girl, It's such a shame what happened to her spacecraft" Kisato commented as she sighed.

"For what it's worth, she's in incredibly good health to survive a pirate attack in a rescue pod... How about you Lowe? You did rescue her first." The black haired coordinator asked of the Red-Frame's junker pilot as he looked... Slightly irked.

"I'm open to the opportunity, but something stinks, Liam." Lowe leant back on their seat as he considered the scene wherein the junk guild crew had found the space pod.

After only getting to Heliopolis for a few hours after its destruction... Lowe still had the visage of a destroyed colony fresh on their mind. Which did make it strangely clear how orderly the scene they had found the escape pod of their current passenger for a gruesome Mobile Armour assault.

"Oiii! Thanks a lot for having me here!"
>>
>>6373454

Lowe turned about to the open airlock as they greeted their passenger.

"Hey, Portia! You feeling better after getting motion sickness?" Discarding the previous notion of something not being right as their rescuee appears, Lowe gives off a beaming smile as the dark-skinned woman giggles like a schoolgirl.

"Yep! I'm A-OK! Thanks a lot for-!"

Her own thanks went in deaf ears as Lowe spoke up "No worries, it's basic decency amongst fellow space travelers like us! Hey professor. Where'd we dropping her?"

The voluptuous captain of the junker vessel did raise her gaze from operating the navigation systems as she looked back "We do have the ZAFT fortress of Nova close by... But I haven't made the calls for it yet." The captain looked over to Liam as he nodded.

"Oh, right... I'll send a communique after we get into sensor range." The coordinator put on the required headset for it as he waited upon his workstation.

"You must be starving, let's get you something to eat." Kisato led away the dark-skinned woman to the recreational areas of the junker vessel...

Giving Portia enough time to silently wonder to herself.

Yet, as much as you yourself had your own doubts. You knew well enough Athrun had theirs, being a similarly reclusive mood

You had thought on asking what was on his mind... But with the mock combat exercise coming to start soon and your own delving musings on the Green-Frame's capabilities to circumvent thinking about your own doubts...

You did start to wonder why Athrun didn't activate their Phase-Shift armour "Umm... Are you forgetting-?"

Athrun, for his part just awkwardly cleared their throat as he replied "Your machine doesn't have it and the Paintballs will just splatter and bounce away from the Aegis if they hit with it active... Think of it as fairness." The slight taunt does playfully get at you as you smirked.

"Alright then, Class Ace... Ten minutes all to see how you've shaped up in the brand new suit. Ready to earn it against an Endymion Ace?"

The uncharacteristic taunting had a chance of backfiring... Specially given Athrun's mood and your general boundaries on mentioning the grimaldi front...

"Crystal Clear, Mind-Killer."

Yet the confident playing-along with the premise caught you by glad surprise.

"Mock Exercise duel..." Lieutenant DesLisle oversaw the duel from the Vesalius own sensor range, you and Athrun raising paintball rifles and shields on the ready...

"Begin."

Anticipation flared up as soon as the order to begin reached both pilots, Your immediate action being to disengage the Aegis in distance.

A call made ahead as it morphed into mobile armour mode, cruising ahead of you but not fully transforming due to the paintball rifle not quite fitting in match with their proper beam rifle.

"He's fast! Catching up to us despite-!" Garodo's slight motions made way to try and shield themselves from an assault, coordination you forgo as you instead open yourself up in feint.

>Defensive action = 73 [Minour Success]

Because for the mock exercise, the Aegis can't shoot at you transformed.

Morphing back to the humanoid frame, You dash away from the pinpoint accurate paintballs as you predicted Athrun's intimidation maneuver, Garodo coordinating as your machine began performing pirouettes and leans away from fire before Athrun repositioned.

"Light work! How'd you know-?" Garodo asked away as you began to push forth while the Aegis repositioned.

"Call it intuition. Also call it that I know him reasonably well!" Athrun fires back, forcing you to raise the Green Frame's shield as paintballs splatter across its surface...

Stepping right into it as you wait for the onslaught to finish with only an inaudible click.

>Offensive Maneuvers = 83 [Majour Success]

The Aegis raised its shield, Athrun caught off-guard by their rifle running out of ammo as they scrambled to reload while under fire...

Allowing you to try and maneuver around them with the Green Frame's additional verniers as the Aegis' frame angled back upon your advance!

"Now!"

At Garodo's push, is it that the Green Frame's sensors turned green, your focus and controls easing up as the Aegis attempted to deliver a Roundhouse kick, the green-frame easing up an unorthodox evasive maneuver...

By leaning and pushing precisely with the angle of the kick, managing to completely rotate along with it without getting hit. The red mobile suit finds itself over-stretched as yours hung upside-down. Rocking up to its back with a singular vernier discharge as the green-frame stamped against it-.

Athrun crying out as they're pushed, allowing you to begin fire on their machine shortly before it too recovers, managing to confirm three hits at their back before it scatters away while reloading their rifle with a fresh magazine...

Only two minutes have passed and the performance of these machines... You hadn't been able to admire them due to circumstances, but-...

"Peel open your eyes! Incoming!" Garodo commands away as you raise your shield to defend from another onslaught, Athrun begins to use their sheer mechanical advantage to try and catch you out of position.

Athrun's movements became erratic as they used the Aegis' superior acceleration and maneuvering to confound your aim...

Rocketting forth at you as you stop to reload the paintball rifle with a fresh magazine as they begin to fire in controlled bursts.

Forcing you to block ahead with your shield as the Aegis slipped past the streaming paint balls, managing to flank your side as you push the Green frame away from their charge-.

>Fake Charge = 70 [Minour Success]

Your back chills as a tingling rushes up through your spine, cancelling your momentum as the Aegis wildly yet precisely dashed encircling you, getting past your guard and beginning to shoot close enough for you to get grazed and hit with a few stray volleys of paint.

"That thrust...! Measure them up close and personal he can't use their beam saber so if we mirage through him-!" Garodo suggests as you finally place your shield to defend from Athrun's zigzagging maneuver.

Yet you didn't expect the moment the grayed out metal finish of the Aegis suddenly glowed with a red sheen. Phase-shift activated as it transformed into Mobile Armor form, jettisoning towards you as you're forced to dodge-.

Green Mirage barely managing to avoid the ramming attack from the now-red machine as precise AMBAC maneuvers allowed the green-frame to precisely frog-leap above it.

"The hell?!" You call out, the Green Frame's sensors returning to its usual yellow as you followed and shot at the rocket-dashing jet-fighter "You said no phase-shift, what gives-?!" You dodge away as it elegantly unfolds out of their cruise mode back into humanoid form.

Just as a beeping is heard on the cockpit, the duel growing in intensity as Athrun seems intent on challenging the Green-Frame's limits "Frieden, wait! There's something wrong with-!"

You grit your teeth, Athrun charging back at you as you're forced to bash shields against each other...

Disengaging away as you both raised rifles to each other... Yet, immediately flinching upright as your whole spine arcs.

The H.O.M.E was surrounded as Moebius mobile armors swarmed around it, threatening the vessel but not attacking it directly.

Portia's orders, the now revealed space-pirate adamant about keeping the cargo of the vessel intact for the highest reward.

"Well, I can't say that was unexpected...", Liam snarked as he scanned sensors range of the junker vessel " Twelve fighters, two Drake-class vessels. Not only surrounding us but also fast enough that even if we got them the slip..."

"Her acting was so believable..." Chisato cursed having felled prey to the pirate's lies "Where is Lowe-?! He's not planning to try and fight like-."

"Certainly not with the Red-frame." The professor finished the comment as she properly raised a comms line window to the H.O.M.E's systems "Your signal is terrible."

"Hey, I could only do what I can with my spar-...!" Liam manually tunes the signal as it is lost, static buildup characteristic of N-Jammer radiation outputted by the pirates cleared off "-In any case, I christen this one Low Gear!"

There was only tense silence between the assailed bridge and the improvised launch bay...

"Never name anything ever again without my input"

Lowe's onboard AI chided at them as the junker pilot just clicked their tongue in dissatisfaction...

An improvised junk-built Mobile Armour based on Spearhead and Moebius designs and parts... Lacking in arms due to Junk Guild regulations but clearly not necessary for its intended purpose as both a time-waster and a maneuverable distraction.

"What's taking so damn long?! Pop out that Red Mobile suit from your top bay and we'll maybe let you live!" Portia heralded demands from her own, hijacked vessel...

A crudely defaced Drake Class escort, it's name plate scratched around from its original Hamilton maiden name into the Hammerton...

And Lowe did not let them wait, as they deployed with their improvised mobile suit, immediately becoming a target of retaliation as he managed to dodge and distract all blows from the H.O.M.E.

You let the Green Mirage System activate as you roll away from a stray yellow beam cannon shot rolling into your duel.

Enough to startle both you and Athrun into abruptly stopping as Garodo resumed regular function to the green-frame "What the-?! I didn't see that one coming! How the hell did you?!" The AI asks away, sounding genuinelu befuddled.

"Athrun Zala to the Vesalius! We're aborting from-! What, Jammed?!" You flinch as even Athrun's own commander horn sensor output is being jammed by N-Jammer radiation...

"Hey, I'm talking to you! Frieden. How'd-!" You shut up Garodo as you made the Green frame look in the direction of the shot.

"Trail the shot's direction, Garodo." The AI only let out a befuddled chirp before immediately processing your command "Athrun, we have to investigate. We're close to Boaz as it is and-!"

Athrun hummed an affirmation "Likewise... Even so, we've got no rifles or weapons beside-" You shake the green-frame's head.

"You have a cannon integrated and besides... We have shields and Beam sabers. Should make good data." Immediately overtaken by the kind of wording you'd use to in the FLUGG's testing, Garodo chirps out with a ping...

The direction of the shot estimated as you heralded Athrun to let you use the Aegis' untransformed arm to hitch a ride with.

"Alliance!" Athrun calls out upon seeing the Moebius and Drake Classes crowding around a civilian vessel, yourself rather unsure of the allegiance, even with the right gear.

"That wouldn't make sense, why would they be harassing-?!" You cut yourself short as you and Athrun disengage away from cannon fire, The Aegis' form shifting back to humanoid as it begins to cross the distance from anti-air CIWS fire.

"There's a green one-?! And what is that other Mobile Suit!?" The lead ship called out from amplified comms, a crude maneuver made to get around the N-Jammer interference by just ditching encoding and broadcasting to everyone with the max ammount of power.

For his part, Athrun just ignited two beam sabers, slashing away at the stern-most side of a Drake Class' gunports while avoiding Moebius fire from his side.

Leading you to address the rest of the fighter craft entourage as-.

"Well, that's serendipitous." An encoded transmission from the civilian vessel reaches you as a Moebius attempts to ram you, quickly managing to shoot at its main sensors with your paintball rifle and forcing them to veer away blinded "Like looking at a stained glass reflection... We're requesting your aid, Pilots."

>Distraction = 71 [Minour Success]

Your own answer was cut off as you avoided being rammed by an unknown, obviously junk and scrap built fighter, the evasive maneuver making you lose hold of your shield.

"Allow me a moment." The same voice from the transmission assures as they cut the transmission, forcing you to back away from more Moebius fighters as you likewise start gumming up their heat vents and sensors with paintballs.

"Ow, that hurts!" A livelier voice suddenly came from the same comms link as the junk fighter disappeared in the midst of it "For a moment I thought some palooka jacked my suit. All my sensors were running on colorblind mode for battery performance..."

You raise an eyebrow before dodging more gunfire, this time from the battleships as Athrun transformed to ready up a Mobile Armor cannon shot.

"I know it's a lot to ask... But disable the enemy units instead of killing them"
