House Season 1-3 has a very 80's medical Columbo vibe.

I've been on an Unsolved Mysteries binge lately (the original run hosted by Robert Stack). It's such a comfy show.
>you never know what they will cover because they don't stick to one topic: murder, missing person, robbery, sex crimes, kidnapping, lost treasure, supernatural phenomenon, historical event, urban legend, long lost relatives, unclaimed estates
>some mysteries on this show will never happen again due to modern technology, mostly long lost relatives and unclaimed estates because social media and DNA testing makes it a lot easier to track people down and keep in touch
>when the police describe their investigations they have to be a lot more creative than they are today because they didn't have DNA and security camera crutches to do all their work for them back then
>good mix of happy endings, bad endings and unknown endings
>many of the mysteries were solved thanks to viewers
>the actual people involved play themselves in the reenactments when possible, which is a nice touch
>the whole show is just a really nice display of Americana, a window into a country and a people that no longer exist in the current mutt dystopia formerly known as America
