Could make for great settings with deep messages on war. As long as it isnt revisionist propaganda which explores both heroes and villains in the japanese military id love to watch one

Could get boring at times if you're looking for action. It will use the post-war setting to further plot, have great accuracy for some things, be more lenient with and fictionalize others. I think it won't satisfy your hunger for shows like Three Kingdoms but there are satisfying references and details prinkled throughout the show that keep the history, war, weapon, etc. buff interested.
