Am I lonely?
I have no friends and don't talk or hang out with anyone but my parents. But I don't really mind or have much of a desire to socialise beyond that.
Meanwhile I see people with friends that they or even parnters that they see or talk to most days and they might even call themselves lonely and that just doesn't seem very true to me.

Asking if you are lonely is the wrong question. You need to be asking if you are gay. And the answer is almost certainly yes.

I am originally straight

alone and lonely are not the same thing and the threshold for loneliness depends on the person
some people can live alone in the mountains and not see another person for years without feeling lonely
some people get lonely if they're not around anyone for a couple hours
hell you can even be lonely in a room full of people if they're all fake friends

What are you now uwu

Wrong. You are OP. And OP is a faggot.

I was the same way for my entire life until I finally got (online) friends in adulthood and then lost them. Now I'm really fucking lonely.

So do you think someone who has lots of friends that they see everyday but still feels lonely is lonely? That sounds more like some mental illness than anything!
>>77265047
Still straight as always.

This >>77265001 anon says it right, being alone and being lonely are two different concepts.
>>77265372
To you it might sound like a mental illness but I guess you never experienced that feeling of being so damn alone even when you are in the company of people, be it IRL or online, and I can assure you it's one of the worst feelings in the world. The way your heart clenches when you see them interacting with each other, and you don't feel about them the same way they do to each other (again).
>>
>>77264942
What can you even do alone?
>>
>>77265372
being around a group of people where there's no emotional intimacy or shared interest and you have to put up an act to fit in is very draining and only reminds you that there's no one in your life that really gets you
>>77265459
well put

You guys actually think normalfags with gfs, a loyal friends are lonely people?
And what about women who have a dozen guys wanting to be her bf?

This doesn't sound like loneliness but some kind of disorder.

>You guys actually think normalfags with gfs, a loyal friends are lonely people?
These are rather extreme examples, but the things are two: either they do suffer from depression or some personality disorder involving loneliness (usually it's BPD, or AvPD too I guess?); those people don't actually care for that person and they can feel that. As I hinted to, you can feel when you are lonely - in the example I proposed, I for example feel I can't be friends the same way with the people who are friends with each other and I'm being in the same group as them. I can feel the lack of connection, that's one reason I don't consider myself a friend either.
>And what about women who have a dozen guys wanting to be her bf?
This isn't an argument. I could have dozens of girls at my feet (just as assumption) but the only girl I want is the one I feel love for and connection, and there's only so much physical attraction can do though it also being valid and important but not exclusive.

Please ignore mouth-breathers.

Yes. When they don't talk to or hang out with anyone recreationally

They can just post on 4chan though and not be lonely anymore

Play video games, read, watch movies, go for walks, browse the internet, lift. There are very few things in life that you need other people for.
>>
>>77267128
>consoom brain rot
>also lift
By proxy, you needed other people to create all of that content for you. The problem is that wouldnt want to do any of those things alone either way, unless you have serious problems. Reading is an exception maybe but after you read its nice to discuss what you learned or what you think about the literature

>By proxy, you needed other people to create all of that content for you.
I guess. I was supposed to say "very few thing that you need to do with other people to enjoy".
>The problem is that wouldnt want to do any of those things alone either way, unless you have serious problems
Why do you assume that? Most video games are single player only.
>Reading is an exception maybe but after you read its nice to discuss what you learned or what you think about the literature
Why do you need to discuss it with others? You can think for yourself you know.
>>
>>77267233
If you can think for yourself then why did you post on this website like you know anything about doing stuff alone?

Playing video games is embarrassing honestly
