Anons, do you prefer a rural or an urban lifestyle?
>>78017545probably suburban but if i really gotta choose then rural. There's just no replacement for that small town village style of life, living close to nature (im thinking living on the coast). All the while taking trips to the city for buying stuff or just as a leisure trip.
I think it would be nice to live on a small land away from the HUSTLE and BUSTLE as long as I still has Wi-Fi and was within a reasonable distance of necessities. Perhaps grow some food. The thing is, it would be a ton of work to maintain a property like that. My grandmother lives on a several acre tract of land and it's a pain to keep mowed, weeded, etc.

i live 15 minutes from the closest towns of 9k and 20k or so in the American South. just an hour to a couple metro areas. i like it very much, but i still maintain some friends that are very local and grew up here with me. although okay for an event or trip, too much concrete and asphalt doesn't agree with me. too many strangers. not enough hills and trees and critters and such. not for me. i'll only be moved out at gunpoint.

That's just how it is. The only things you are socially allowed to do in rural towns outside of work is getting drunk and playing/watching soccer. More soul-crushing than any shithole city could ever be. In a city, even the most obscure hobbyist can find like-minded people. In a rural town, he gets ostracized if he tries to talk about his own hobbies (happened to me because I like history, computers and baroque music, all of which are considered to be for gay subhumans by the drunkards of my hometown).
Sucks driving an hour to nearest Sam's but I love the rural life. I'm just 15 minutes away from a small town for work.
