>>78026515Oftentimes what makes for a good competitive shooter is simplicity, something lacking in modern shooters. The complexity of a video game, any genre really, should come from the interactions the players themselves have. When you come up with convoluted game modes, or ideas for games then you end up watering down the experience altogether. 1.6 is a good example of how simplicity can be genius. Great examples of very convoluted ideas would be Quake and it's pickups/timers, Overwatch and it's abilities/ultimates, or something much more modern would be Fortnite and it's builds. Seemingly great ideas at first glance, but upon closer inspection, you're actually given the illusion of creativity when you experience these games. The most common argument against Quake is typically it's skill-ceiling, but in that same regard knitting is also a skill-based activity, but has infinitely more depth of creativity. Overwatch is Overwatch, Fortnite is Fortnite.>t. played professionally for a year or 2
