Thank you for the bread!

>did you ever watch OHSHC? do you like it?
I remember nothing of it other than it was "that other show with a character also named Haruhi"
>do you prefer shows aimed at women or men?
Women. Almost all anime is made by men and has the male gaze in mind, but shows made specifically for men (romance, SoL, harem, etc) tend to be so cliched, and some may even have some particularly horrifying.
>do you think men can write good romance?
I know for sure there are men who write good romance novels. A friend of mine who reads almost nothing but that probably knows a few. The appeal of such books ran out on me very quickly over a decade ago.
>what's something you've been planning to cook but haven't yet?
Homemade spaetzle and mushroom gravy with some chicken sausage.

How did it get to this point? Is it over?
>>
>>80011024
Every situation is salvagable. If you have late assignments, email your prof(s) and be honest with it (can blame on mental health or something). Profs appreciate honesty and taking accountability. Try and get your assignments' weighting transferred to your final/midterm or open the window for submission again.
Next, go to the library or somewhere away from the place that makes you procrastinate and grind out all your assignments. Don't leave until you can look yourself in the mirror and be proud of how much work you completed.
Stick to a routine. The very first thing you do in the morning should be part of that routine (i.e. don't go on your phone at all). Helps with discipline.

Good afternoon nonas! It's finally friday! I hope my fellow worker bees are out/almost out for the week and have something nice planned for the weekend!

>did you ever watch OHSHC? do you like it?
No, sorry nona.
>do you prefer shows aimed at women or men?
I heavily dislike shows with either male or female bias. That type of writing tends to be quite shallow and the bias is so blatant it ruins the immersion. It's part of why I struggle with anything Hollywood has produced in the last 20 years. I don't want to be told the heroine is a strong independent woman because she is a woman. I don't want to be told men are evil. It's simply not true and no amount of forcing it down my throat will make me ignore reality.
>do you think men can write good romance?
Absolutely.
>What are some examples if so? (or examples of it being really bad kek)
Makoto Shinkai: Kimi No Na Wa
Otono Yomoji: To Every You I've Loved Before
>what's something you've been planning to cook but haven't yet?
I really want to make Chicken Kiev using panko crumbs and homemade parmesan garlic butter. I might make it this weekend.

You know, I cannot speak for every woman, but I have never refused an interaction with moid who just wanted to talk to me. I have refused their advances for all of the typical reasons, but I'm always open to polite conversations. In fact one of the people I manage at work is a moid who really likes playing old video games and will talk to me for hours about them. I'm old enough to be his cool younger whoops baby aunt, about 12 years of age difference, so I consider it quite clear that I do not see him as a potential mate. I really enjoy listening to him talk so passionately about games like Demons Souls as if it's a classic RPG and a childhood gem. It also makes me wonder what his mother was thinking letting him play something so violent so young. If conversation is all you want from a woman try leading with a topic you want to talk about. If I recall correctly the work moid I was talking about introduced me to his hobby by asking me if I remembered any games from when I was a girl. I told him I remembered Gran Turismo 2 because my brother used to play it and that was all he needed as a springboard into his hobbies. I'd say the most sexually threatening thing that moid has ever done is get drunk at an office christmas party and hug me slightly too tightly for slightly too long when I handed him a little gift for all of the hard work he had done which was more worrying that threatening. He may be younger than me but he's easily twice my bodyweight and towers over me. It felt like he was trying to juice me and I'm not used to being touched. Thanks for reading my post anon. Sorry it got rambly. I'm not quite sure what I'm trying to say. Perhaps the point I'm trying to make is that "cold opens" dont work for any moid but pleasant interactions with women in your social spheres should be fine if you just want to share your interests and make new friends.

That's a difficult question. perhaps it's accurate to tell you that I have wanted to be loved for a very long time, but I've never really felt like I deserved it. The person the world sees is a performance and the intimacy that comes with the concept of dating scares me and dates to me are more stressful and panic inducing than delivering departmental performance evaluation presentations.

I completely understand how you feel. I sometimes lose hours wondering what it feels like to have the kinds of relationships found in great romance novels. the kind of romance that great love songs are inspired by. I wonder what it's like to have a loving husband and spend my evenings with him curled up in the same blanket feeding each other macadamia nuts as we watch a movie or take turns reading a book out loud. I wish I could call that time spent wondering time wasted but the real waste of time is wishing for it in the first place. For some it's simply not meant to be.

I think 12 years is outside the generally accepted age range either way. younger or older. However I think a younger woman and older man would be more tolerated by society. I'm quite certain that if I started dating a boy 12 years my junior I'd be seen as a cradle snatcher and he'd be regarded as a fetishist. I think the fact that he'd be a colleague in any standing would only make matters worse. As a woman it's generally seen that letting the company pens dip themselves in your ink is as bad if not worse than dipping your pen in company ink as a man... I hope that analogy works. Just in case it doesn't let me be clear. Big age differences are tricky and generally not a good idea for a lot of reasons. Dating a colleague of any age or ranking in the company you work at is a horrible idea, doubly so if either one of you manages the other.

Perhaps you're right. Assuming you are, why do you think I turned them down? Based on what you know about me do you really believe that I'd do it out of some delight in hurting them? Do you think perhaps I had a reason that was more than a quick and shallow appraisal of their looks? Do you believe the inevitable pain of a doomed relationship is preferable to being alone? Do you think it's acceptable to date someone knowing that you feel nothing for them? Do you not consider that cruel to toy with someones emotions like that? Would you want a woman to agree to date you if she felt absolutely nothing for you the entire time you were dating? Would you want your love confession to be met with sympathetic indifference and an apologetic thank you? Would you want your interactions to be met with a faint sense of obligation as your patience started to wear thin? Your statement might be true, moid. But there's more to the truth than perhaps you realize.

I'm not well, nona. Pretending that I am is exhausting. I go through my work day barely holding it together and on days where it's too much I pull over on my way back from work to cry and scream where nobody will hear me and call the police for a welfare check. When I get home I go through my chores and then watch movies and post here and a few other places to combat the loneliness I feel and how empty my life is. Every night going to sleep feels like mild torture as my own mind attacks me and won't give me a moments rest and replays my mistakes, fears, worries and regrets on loop.

You know no one is perfect right? We all bring our own problems and issues into relationships. You seem to be able to keep it together at work, and at home so why would having a man there with you be so much more of an issue? Is it because of the guilt you have? There are people are together with people who have been in prison.

OH MY GOD I DIDNT EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN JUST HERE HOLY SHIT
>>

We get accused of not being emotional but we just never do this shit. Or not exactly like that. I think I only pictured myself with a wife once.
>>

Makes sense. I never say "it's good because a woman wrote it", I say "it's good because it's good".

it's always funny to me when a moid walks in here like this, saying stuff like this. i wasn't even talking about you, or thinking about you, i just like these japanese comics a lot right now. are you saying what she's doing is bad or something? why don't you think more about having a wife? what the fuck are you talking about? wake up! wake up!!!

>>80018801
it's not like, good writing cause she's a woman, it's just good... like, it's good /in a way/ because of how she's a woman. it's like "it tastes good because it's sweet" even though some things can be wayy too sweet and be gross instead.

like your 'no discrimination' approach gives me less info about the thing yknow
>>
>>80019612
>why don't you think more about having a wife? what the fuck are you talking about? wake up! wake up!!!
Not him but I think you'd make a good wife.
>>
>>80017277
Thing is unlike a lot of you we don't want to be crabs in a bucket. I have kinds of things I want to do and accomplish one day. Even if I'll never connect with normal people I at least want to live a comfortable life and accomplish the dreams I set out to do. Many of you can't even take a shower.
>>
>>80019879
Can you explain how this post has anything related to the post you are replying to? I fail to see the connection.
>>
>>80019636
you can't just say that out of nowhere! why? what made you say that? what are my wifely traits that i have? i take that seriously, you can't joke around. i think you're messing with me. i don't like that.
>>
>>80020324
The desire to prioritize a family is a pretty obvious one.
>>
>>80020344 v/
....dude. "i want to get married and have kids" means i'm WILLING to be a wife. that doesn't mean i'd be any good at it.
>>
>>80020324
Because you seem like you really want to be a wife and have children for one. The very fact that you want it means you'll be more likely to cherish it and not take it for granted and give your all. Besides that you're a very likeable character. You seem to enjoy cooking, even if you're probably not so great it. (You've mentioned eating burned pancakes) You seem really fun and you like to learn about things. Then there's other things which you've hinted or dropped over the 100 or so threads about your physical appearance, which suggests you are not bad on the eyes. There's probably more I could say but I don't want to say too much.
>>80020344
You aren't me.
>>
Tbh quite a few of the nonas here seem like they'd make pretty good wives.
>>
>>80020353
Yeah it would. It puts you above those who have relationships of that kind for the sake of having them, which is a surprisingly high number.

I guess you feel you wouldn't be great with kids or something. Then again who is, as long as you remember to be present enough you'd already be doing more than most too.

okay, so "hey berries, you want a husband, you enjoy some things, and in my head i imagined you're pretty". that is pretty shallow. i'm not asking you to comb the archives to know more about me but your head sure isn't in a place that's about actual qualities that would make me a good marriage partner, you're just making assumptions and not seeing red flags.

i will not accept halfhearted compliments. don't talk about something so important to me if you're not going to be serious.

>>80020387

I think the other issue is that shoujo anime recs are shared more often than shoujo manga recs. You can't always say "this anime is good because it's a woman's vision" even if a woman wrote the original manga (or novel) because the anime adaptation is usually made by mostly men.

Look at this lonely orphan who starts off with nothing and ends up with friends, family and love. A woman created her, a man directed her anime.
>>
>>80020408
>you're just making assumptions and not seeing red flags.

Everyone has red flags. No one is perfect. we all have our flaws and struggles. I'm not making assumptions, I just didn't want to bring every single thing I happen to have stored in my mind palace about your contortionist hobbies, or about how men have said, "God put you together well."

I just think you would really cherish having a family and try your best at it.
>>
>>80020408
From underrating the value of intention to believing there are no red flags. Cute.
Try jumping less or your kids will have a doozy trying to understand you too.
>>
>>80020413
well i enjoy manga more than anime, i realized, so manga is fine. i liked ouran a lot but i started watching the yona anime and after reading firefly wedding i wanted to just read it instead so i looked up the manga.

and i'm glad i did cause all the guys are way hotter in the manga and i like the little mini text that isn't spoken aloud. the captions in anime are also kind of retarded in their phrasing compared to manga translation.
>>
>>80020413
How much vision is directing if the source material is already there anyway.
A man doesn't write you this >>80016694 or that scene in the red movie about fanfictions with your crush, a woman doesn't write you anything about the mental platformers we make in our heads to pretend talking with a woman is way harder than it actually is and that is so clear to see around places like this.

That's the beauty of writing though, it reminds you each person has their version. Some you relate with more than others, even if it's not well done all of them manage to have non zero value for the sake of being out there.

i did not say i had none, i said you weren't seeing or at least not mentioning any. red flags like not wanting to be married, being wilffully miserable, or i guess not a red flag but it might be a dealbreaker if you thought i was very ugly. you just listed three main areas where dealbreakers are found and that was your reasoning. i'm saying that isn't enough to make me a good wife, it just means i qualify for the role. it's minimum. you're assuming you would be attracted to me and the rest are just "there are no big problems here". like i said, i'm not asking you to mention more lore or whatever, it doesn't matter how many details you memorize, your head isn't in the right place at all.

i would cherish a family and try my best, but that's just the minimum for not being an abusive piece of shit who doesn't deserve a family. if you aren't going to try your best, nobody should be placed in your care.

>>80020433
you communicate like a snake. i would raise my kids to be clever, honest, and noble, unlike how you seem. i don't want to talk to you. if we talk in the future it's because i don't recognize you or memorize your posting habits.

Really depends on how faithful the adaptation is to the source material. Few adaptations keep everything and change nothing.

it's like 70% combat and politics, 30% romance. it's just really good romance.

She's right. Your lack of standards is a giant red flag and not as flattering as you might think it is. It's like when women tell me they want to date me because I'm handsome and not a coomer, is that supposed to make me feel desired?

>>80020408
Giving you my 2 cents, since I thought the topic was interesting. I have no idea if you'd be a good wife, but I would say that you would be a good mother for your children. You're very concise and articulate your thoughts really well. You're kind and always respectful to others who don't treat you with the same respect. You're actively trying to better yourself and your skills (you being hard on yourself when you ruined your thanksgiving cooking effort). We need more people like you in the world.

Good Morning Nonas! I hope you have a lovely day today! I am going grocery shopping soon, then I'll go to the beach for a little bit, it's so cold that I doubt I'll have to worry about anything going yucky in the back of the car.

Do you have anything you want to do today?
>>
>>80021865
>I'll go to the beach for a little bit, it's so cold that I doubt I'll have to worry about anything going yucky in the back of the car.
You could be like here that got a shit ton of snow. I'm stuck inside because we get 2 feet of snow and it's still snowing. All the shoveling I did a few days ago went to waste.
>>
>>80021865
>go to the beach for a little bit
what will you do there?
>>
>>80021898
Oh dear! I dont think your shovelling went to waste, it'll certainly clear faster on the places you have shovelled. You need only worry about compacted snow turning into ice which can be quite tricky.

I keep a sack of rock salt and beach sand for my path and will spread it generously the day before we're due any significant amount of snow, but we haven't had anything like that in years. It just gets quite bitter here because the sea breeze lowers the air temps even further.

Still, there's something to be said for being snowed in. Do you have a nice warm blanket and some tea? Perhaps a fire or radiator?
>>
>>80021865

I said that to point out you're going about it the wrong way. I'm trying to help you.
>Her low self esteem introduced that there.
Do you think saying someone has low self esteem is a compliment? I understand where you're coming from, making women feel good about themselves is a sure way to success my friend. Just make sure your compliments are about her, not in relation to other women.
>Why would my standards even matter in the question she made?
How would you feel if your gf told you "Anon you're a good boyfriend, you never hit me." You doing the bare minimum is not something you should be proud of right? You'd want her to like you for who you are or the things you do for her, you know, going the extra mile. You basically told her she would be a great wife because she's not a whore who doesn't want kids lmao. I don't. Unfortunately I'm very allergic to cats. I can visit a cat cafe every now and again and just need to take antihistamines afterwards but prolonged exposure does a number on my immune system. 2 weeks around cats and my skin goes blotchy, my eyes go puffy and itchy, my throat closes up, I get a really bad dry cough etc. Yet another joke the universe has played on me, haha universe! I've tried exposure therapy and all it did was make me miserable. the symptomns didn't subside at all. The moment they figure out a cure I'm getting the fattest, oldest, sleepiest cat I can get my hands on and spoiling the crap out of it in its senior years.

It was scrumptious nona. I'm a garlic fiend and this really hit the spot. I have a ton of garlic butter left over so I'm planning on making garlic bread so that I can have a slice with the lunches I bring to work next week. I can see myself using the remaining potatoes and the extra kiev breast I cooked on Tuesday. Such is the life of a bachelorette, I seem to only ever share my food with either colleagues or future me. running the cooker has become quite expensive so I tend to cook a few times a week and then heat up the leftovers in the microwave at home or at work.

A big part of the reason I cook is because of how much I appreciate my bodily autonomy. Have you ever eaten a fast food or a junk food and winced at the chemicals in the thing you ate? So much of the food people eat day after day is more science than sustenance. Having in say in what you put into your body and how your body looks and feels is one of the few freedoms we have left. I won't squander it by driving fast food, junk food and profit-optimized "healthy food". Have you ever looked at how much egg is in jarred mayonaisse? You'd think it'd be mostly eggs right? Wrong. it's 80% rapeseed oil. I can't trust companies to look after me. Therefore I must look after me. I recommend everyone get into cooking. It has to be better than eating their science projects. It also feels good too when you pull something out of the oven and it looks and tastes exactly how you'd planned it. A little victory like that cane really turn a day around.

Most of the time sure, but tonight I had mashed swede and boiled carrots with the chicken kiev and potatoes, they don't belong in the oven unless you're just heating them up, I'm sure you know this but boiling vegetables in makes them soft. putting them in the oven will reduce the moisture in them and make them firm and crispy. Lining the bottom of a non-stick roasting tin with paper is just wasting wax paper moid. You'd still have to clean it as the sides would still get dirty even if you could firmly seal the bottom with paper.

why. why god. what did i do to deserve this kind of treatment. first my entire life, and now this? at least let me finish reading the manga. make the author finish this week. give me the chapters. give me the chapters and make hak and yona kiss and get married and bring back the dragons. let everybody be happy. why did it turn out like this? i know i've done some awful things but the punishment does not suit the crime, this is so cruel. i tried to get over firefly wedding being on a miserable depressing chapter by reading yona because i thought, of course, the anime is already done, of course the manga is done. i am so stupid. it was just one season, they didn't do the whole story. it's not done yet. my foolishness has ripped my heart out. i'm a dead woman. i'm a body in a morgue and there's like a creepy mortician there, it's the worst death possible. i nibbled all the skin on my fingers down to the nubs because i was so anxious about the twist you did for the ending and then you left everybody trapped in a bloody hell dimension with evil gods who torment the people i love. this is just like real life. how miserable. i know it will end happy but i don't want to wait. i hate waiting. i'm not patient anymore, i am not the girl who stands around feeling nothing, i want this to be in my hands right away or i will scream until somebody fixes this. i'm so angry. i'm going to go dig a huge huge huge hole. i'll dig to japan and beat up the author. why is manga never finished? i have to be careful with my choices. god. why. oh god why. do i have to read some ancient thing from the 1900s? 2009 was forever ago, why isn't it done yet.. what the hell.... now i need a rebound from the rebound. which was a rebound from another thing. i need good shoujo right now. immediately. maservant, bring me shoujo manga. it has to have a lot of swords and a lot of kissing and there have to be irresponsibly shirtless men running around. bring it at once. i will die without it i will be dead

it would create more continuity errors and inconsistencies though. this shit's falling apart at the seams as it is. but for anyone liking the "really letting the femmy side out" arc that's taken off here I guess it wouldn't raise any significant qualms.
an entire folder of reaction images shouldn't go to waste. the least you could do is add the co-candidate I always sought to your roster of marionettes

>immediately. maservant, bring me shoujo manga. it has to have a lot of swords and a lot of kissing and there have to be irresponsibly shirtless men running around. bring it at once. i will die without it i will be dead
Please accept this humble manservant's offering.

I just finished all 54 chapters in the main story of Rose of Versailles. I already loved the anime but now I've finally read the manga too.

Oscar Francois de Jarjayes, fictional daughter of a real life noble, is forced by her father to be raised as a man and join the army. Her external story is being Queen Marie Antoinette's personal guard in the years leading up to the French Revolution, her internal arc is passing from "fuck yeah, I'm a man" to "what the fuck am I, neither man nor woman" to "fuck it, I'm me". And, of course, love.

Who competes in the Oscarbowl for her love?
-Andre, childhood friend and servant working in her household, forbidden from loving her because she's nobility and he's a commoner
-Fersen, Swedish noble who loves Marie Antoinette even though she's married, realizing late he could love Oscar too
-Rosalie, poor woman from the lower class with a big heart full of lesbianism, impressing Oscar by sacrificing her dignity to help others
-Girodelle, military man who respects Oscar's accomplishments in the world of men, but hopes she'll retire to join him as a woman
-Alain, disobedient soldier under Oscar's command who starts of rebellious but grows to admire and love her against his will

The manga is more soulful, the female author's personal vision with her own wit and charm, but makes the mistake of having Marie Antoinette and Fersen (lame and boring) equal protagonists with Oscar and Andre (cool swordfighters). The anime fixes this, but it's directed by men so let's forget it. The manga is cool, and it's done. It's not a happy ending for everyone, but love is confessed and consummated before the Revolution sweeps the old France away with swords and bullets and blood.

I used to cook for my boyfriend and he was such a jerk about it. he was always saying things like "needs more salt", "pastas too soft", "sauce is too thin" but he would never say a bad word about his moms cooking. I always knew he was just negging my cooking and one day I managed to prove it. My mom bumped into his one day and his mom gave my mom an apple crumble. She passed it to me because she doesn't like it. So I heated that up and served it to him when he got home from work. "apples aren't sliced properly.", "applies aren't caramelized.", "custard is lumpy and tastes weird, not enough egg and sugar." I waited until he had nothing else to say, then told him that his mom dropped it round and that I'd pass the feedback on to her seeing as I have to hear it everytime I cook for him. He had a little shit fit and threatened to break up with me over it, which got me real mad so I did it anyway in front of his face. His mom called him back like 3 minutes later and he hissed "You fucking bitch. We're done." as he left my apartment telling his mom I was lying. I've never dated a mamas boy since.

With the mamas boy? Some combination of good looking, good family, exciting interests and decent job. Unfortunately all of that luck in the first two had convinced him he was gods gift to women and not only was he insufferable to be around, he was impossible to feel anything for because it was clear he felt nothing for you. He was literally the kind of guy who would turn football on straight after he came and then act like his mind was blown when you switched it off and told him to get out. "Oh you didn't cum? sorry." What the hell do you mean! You one pump chump loser of course I didn't cum. between you jamming it in as if you were trying to plug a fire stick into the back of a television, complaining about the condom and then cumming in less than a minute anyway when the hell was I supposed to have gotten anywhere near an orgasm. Idiot. He literally made sex feel like like a chore. His swear smelled weird too. I know he showered, I think our immune systems were just so incompatible that his sweat just smelled really really bad to me. I felt relief when he left. genuinely my first thought was "well i'm glad that's over, guess I should find a box for his crap and text him mommy to come pick it up.".

Nope. All moids think they are good moids. Few moids are actually good moids. Every single one of them think they can keep up the honeymoon period of romance and interest and attentiveness ad infinitum, the truth is you're not supposed to and the true measure of their worth comes after the honeymoon period. many fail at this because they think once you're sufficiently woo'd you're owned and they no longer need to try, but heaven fucking forbid you relax or even worse, tell him that he's slipping, because you're either a slob or a nag in spite of them being guilty of both and when you call them on that, kaboom, the argument happens and then it's down to the wire, will he stand up for the relationship he's helped build or will his pride and arrogance allow it to crumble? Oh would you look at that, his pride and arrogance won. When you point it out he tells you thats what he hates about you, you really drive it home by calling him a fucking child and telling him to grow up and then your friday nights are back to drinking wine in the library. the modern sperg female dating experience.

This is the wrong approach. If you both were mature then there should be communication about what you want and expect. Not someone trying to puppeteer things silently and then get upset when others can't read your mind.
>>80035197
>but if he's such a jerk that he'd call me out on minor things then I unload with both barrels.
I think this is immature behavior too. I don't think you should put up with being treated poorly but you shouldn't just escalate things like this. There are ways to handle situations with a bit more grace and tactfulness.

Idk it sounds like to me you have had bad relationships and place all of the blame on your partners without looking at how you could also have handled things better. This does not mean that I think it's all your fault or anything but there are better ways to do things.

>>80036338
There there. Your brain has unlimited space kpopnona, unfortunately it's simply a matter of the brains ability to retain as you get older that gets in the way. You can try to keep your brain young and active by staying on top of your fitness and nutrition but unfortunately it's designed to slow down a little as you age. That said it never completely stops! The best thing you can do is keep challenging yourself and stay active! I'm not as sharp as I used to be for sure but I still run circles around some of the kids I've met. Keep at it! Technology has your back! Even if you'll not remember every japanese character being able to snap a picture of what you want to translate and having your answer in an instant is amazing and as long as you make an effort to retain it you're not cheating yourself out of a learning experience.

i know a fair amount of japanese already and investing in the language could surely get me somewhere, especially now that i'm medicated with ritalin (tho it's still not working as intended and i'm still trying to figure out what time and dose works best for me). what scares me is when i tried learning korean and i could actively feel my english getting worse. there's a large chance it was actually just my mind making it up since i have this paranoia that i'll wake up one day and not speak english anymore.
for context, my grandma (73) and my mom (49) were both once fluent in english. my granny even spoke other languages too. but nowadays they both can barely make sentences.
that being said, my dad (48) is self taught fluent in spanish, intermediate in english and can understand italian input well, just can't output.
a lot of people find it impressive that ive self taught myself english at the age of 10 especially because very few people over here speak it. but im terrified of it being temporary and/or this being the most i've ever and will ever achieve. i KNOW the amount of content i only have access to because of my fluency, and losing that one day would destroy me and my life.

I'm sorry anon, I might have given you the wrong impression. I didn't mean to imply I was a clever clogs with high IQ interests. I think I scored 134-137 in the last IQ test I took around a decade ago. I'm sure I've slipped considerably since then. I really don't have any obscure interests. I read, cook, work, run and drink on occasion. I suppose I collect rare wines but it's not really an interest. Clients and suppliers started gifting them to me and some of them seemed too nice to drink without an occasion... now the collection is worth over 1000 euros by last count.

I've always wanted to try Ritalin. I struggle with concentration and maintaining my attention and I wonder if it has the potential to help. Have you found it's had any positive effects so far? Any negative side effects to mention? I don't think you'll loose your English nona. Language retention is all about how much you use it and as you read English daily I doubt you'll let it deteriorate to any significant degree. Take heart kpopnona you'll be speaking, typing and reading English your whole life. Don't you worry. I just wish the Anglophone speaking world produced anything worth knowing English for these days. It must be quite boring for you to read the words of a culture that only ever seems to self-flagellate. Hopefully one day we'll find our way again. The current state of things is unsustainable. I really do admire your language skills though kpopnona. I barely speak any Irish simply because it's not very useful and my French is at best mildly conversational. I should put more effort in as you do.

a few people like to call ritalin and similar medications "legal cocaine" and i agree. after it hits i feel myself way more awake, my heartbeat jolts up (which could be negative, but i have low blood pressure) and i have much more desire to actually do things, plus regular simple tasks don't feel like a huge obstacle.
>Any negative side effects to mention?
after it wears out you feel very tired. depending on your lifestyle it works out as you can negate the tiredness by popping another pill, but it should be taken every 4/6 hours. also, it makes you feel very warm, like alcohol (but i think it's for a different reason)
> I just wish the Anglophone speaking world produced anything worth knowing English for these days
it still does. at least for portuguese speakers you get so much information. it's good to keep up with original sources and not depend on translations.

Riddle me this fembots.

You're talking to a girl she's sending you unsolicited nudes, telling you she loves you, tells you that if you ever simp for her she will block and delete you, says she terrified of losing you and says you are her only friend.

Then out of no where like a light switch all of that stops and you're lucky to get a single response every 3 days.

Possibilities:
1. She has a boyfriend now and is keeping me around as that pet in the back of the cage you bring out every now and then when you're bored.
2. She's bored.
3. She's extremely introverted and I have sucked her dry.

So I went to a local nursery today to get some sprouts, seeds, worms and soil and ended up causing the lesbian cashier to lose it and spill her spaghetti when she saw me. Was kind of flattering, but mostly funny because I don't think I've ever seen anyone lose it so completely.

It needs to be said again on occasion that these threads are not for their sake, and that them coming into these threads thinking it's good ground to find a date or something is very toxic. Going into a stated female space under the idea that it's a more target-rich environment is a prime indicator of how little they think of us.
>>80037893
>it's almost hard to believe.
No it isn't. Mama's boys are very much like that. Mom always did it better and you will never stack up to her, and that will slowly breed resentment from him.

>i don't really pay much mind to the author's name
Lots of male authors use gender neutral pen names, so there's a decent chance of coming across romance novels written by a man (who likely had his wife help write).

Again, tomboy erasure is real.

how do you tell the difference? between a girl being autistic and getting all puppy dog excited about the prospect of another girl not being a normie reptilian cunt and actually being nice for once instead of dismissive, patronizing or outright hostile? or spilling lesbo spaghetti. i am both painfully autistic and painfully gay and i can rarely accurately determine what's going on in the interaction itself. later on i can usually piece it together but then i already spilled my spaghetti anyways so it's no use.

Anon, please understand. /biofem/ is like a zoo, and women are the animals. You remember the animals, but the animals don't remember you. You are nothing to the women, absolutely nothing. Same as anyone else who tries to flirt with women here, just a passing nobody who shouts at the animals briefly but is ultimately forgettable. This is why you cannot date a woman here.

I catch glances ever so often and can read "oh, they're into me" from most people. Some are good enough at keeping it together for me to not to not notice in the moment, but by the time I'm getting in my car it hits me that I was getting some really sneaky side-eye.

This was the real world equivalent of an anime character's nose erupting in blood and collapsing on the floor. She instantly lost her composure and was not subtle at all about how attractive she thought I was to the point of even having to tell me, likely in the hopes of making the situation less awkward.
>>80042831
She didn't notice me at first because she was doing something with the register. When she looked over at me she slapped her hand over her mouth and hunched over. At first I thought she was sick or something until she came back up a few moments later and her face was flushed red like she'd just eaten a habanero. I asked if she was okay, and she nervously chuckled and then preemptively apologized so she could told me that she found me very attractive and was "just NOT ready for it."

I found it flattering and we both had a laugh, which helped make the situation less awkward and allowed her to do her job as we chatted a bit. She asked me who dyed my hair, (which is a question I get maybe every 5th interaction with a stranger) and was surprised to find it was natural. She apologized profusely, recognizing how awkward the whole situation was, but I told her it was fine. I asked her if she knew about worms hoping to take her mind off it and she gave me a few tips on composting and feeding them. We exchanged names and I went home.

Girl kind of looked a little like the youtuber FunkyFrogBait with short hair, for anyone who wants a visual.

Lonely people seek out other lonely people. They need a reminder that this is the wrong thread for that.

There are good people in this thread, people with big hearts bursting with love, inquisitive minds full of curiosity for new ideas, warm compassionate souls brimming with gentle kindness, fierce will and determination to overcome struggles, creative senses of humor to find joy in the most unexpected places, committed loyalty to persevere through the bad times for the good, a special endearing charm that makes each person unique in their own way... and this is the wrong thread to seek out relationships with those people.

Consider >>80042641.
>Everyone's upset at me for trying to date girls here that i chatted with for weeks. I'm going to leave and all of the lesbians and trans can hit on you instead. Goodbye everyone. It was fun(4me).
What a poor sucker. All that time and energy wasted because he just didn't understand that it was simply the wrong thread.

I'm looking for easy women who are vulnerable and don't have many friends like the ones here. That way I will be the center of their universe and they will acquiesce to all of my wants. Plus we will have a lot of the same interests such as shit posting and being a neet.

Well, yes and no. He has some crazy expensive course with all kinds of resources but he does a lot of free stuff too. I think you're pretty smart so you should be able to make the free stuff be very helpful. I think it'll give you more perspective and be pretty useful. These free videos will be taken down by tomorrow during noonish. I honestly don't know if there's anyone better than this guy when it comes to this stuff. Been recommended to me by a lot of people I trust. He tries to sell you on buying his course but there's a lot of good info he gives for free too. Good luck.

I think something like that is very rare and that people who would do something like that would present many warning flags that they're a bad person. I'm a guy and although I never used to help cook, I have literally never said the food wasn't as good as mummies. Maybe I'm weird but each time a woman has cooked for me it has tasted better than anything else, besides maybe the thing they cooked for me previously. These days I try to help with cooking if I'm not busy but a lot of people who cook do not like others in the kitchen unless it's to help with like cutting potatoes/onions or something.

Thank you!

Good evening nonas! I hope you've had a lovely day! Tonight I made a nice chicken ceasar salad for dinner and now I'm looking for anime movies to watch. I've been trying to find one that makes me feel something. So far the most potent has been A Silent Voice. That one never fails to make me cry at several points during the movie and I identify with the protagonist for... perhaps uncomfortable and obvious reasons. Tonight I'm watching "To every you I've loved before."
>>

Always remember that couples communicate in both spoken words and unspoken words.

"I love cooking food for you because food is one of my favorite ways to express my love" she says out loud, and it's on you to understand her when she doesn't say out loud "and if you want me to feel valued and appreciated in this relationship then you should express your love by cooking food for me too".
>>
>>80048376
Try making an interactive story that never ends or forcing connections between two unrelated stories. That's basically what that game is, a pastiche.

I have only seen the last two of those movies. I'm afraid they're not to my taste but I'm glad you enjoy them.

Watching To Me, The One Who Loved You first. Then tomorrow I'll watch To Every You I've Loved Before. I think the fact that it was a simultaneous release of a story from two perspectives is charming and interesting. The story so far is adorable.
>>
>>80048458
Nah, that's immature to expect others to read your mind. Open and honest direct communication is best. This is probably why so many of you seem to have poor relationships. Because you expect others to interpret and read your mind instead of actually talking about things so there aren't any misunderstandings.

A partner wants their partner to be a partner, not to be a child. You're an adult, you should be able to use adult reasoning. It shouldn't need to be explained to you that love isn't just a feeling in your heart, love is also actions that you perform. And it shouldn't be her mental burden to explain everything to you. You're not a child, she shouldn't have to remind you that flowers and chocolates are appreciated on Valentine's, she shouldn't have to remind you that a cake and a heartfelt card are appreciated on her birthday, she shouldn't have to remind you that a thoughtful gift is appreciated for Christmas, she shouldn't have to remind you that a romantic date night is appreciated on your anniversary, she shouldn't have to remind you that it's nice to feel appreciated all year round thanks to your actions. Think of these things on your own without her needing to shoulder the burden of reminding you.

If you know that love for her is expressed through cooking food then you should innately understand that food cooked by you will make her feel loved, and a lack of food cooked by you will make her feel unappreciated. Study how your partner expresses their love and then use that as a solid base for expressing your love.

NTA but the ways I personally want to receive love aren't necessarily the same ways I express it. Love languages don't work like that. And while obviously things like kind gestures should be inferred and common for anyone with love in their hearts, communicating when needs aren't being met is equally important too.

If most people on this site just got a simple hobby like walking, shooting hoops at the park, reading, or something that got them out of their room and away from the computer, the amount of misery and self-destructive behavior would be significantly curtailed. Having some mechanism of self-care that isn't tied to online is desperately needed.

I like giving recs because the recs flow both ways. Something like 1/4th of the books I read last year were recommended by 4channers. When I can give recs to you all, and when you all can give recs to me, I feel like we have ourselves a real community.

Maybe you're thinking of someone else though. This thread is the first time I've recommended Rose of Versailles this year. Last time I recommended it was... something like May of last year. On another board. Other people like it too, I swear.

There is no what if. What part of that do you not understand. You hold on to this notion of the 0.001% thinking you are the best of the best out there. Meanwhile you just say rude and wacko nonsense expecting some positive response. Or more likely you just enjoy making an ass of yourself. It isn't enduring cute or even the least bit interesting. Have you actually spent time being a person worth meeting and talking to you might have actually seen results.

The androgynous vampy man. But that does not mean I would be attracted to a swarthy-complexioned plebeian trying to appeal to those with my tastes. I would not pick the swarthy fellow at his most curated because even at his most actualized I would not pick him either. I would pick the ethereal erudite beeeeing himself or no one. But to illustrate my point, my second choice would be the macho man beeeing himself. And then I still would not even in a hypothetical pick the stinky monkey trying to defy his fate by striving to be a second-rate version of his superior.

I typically deflect or distract. If you were to be direct and ask me something like "So nona, what does your boyfriend think about you catching a drink after work?" I'd smile and say "That's a bit old fashioned isnt it? What does your partner think?" or "Oh nevermind what anyone else thinks, I think I'm ordering an espresso martini, what about you?". Simple stuff like that said with a lot of confidence ensures they have no idea.

>>
>>80058497
I often get invited out with my younger colleagues because two of the more lushy girls in the mid 20s age bracket are my direct reports. They are brilliant at their jobs, but my gosh do they put it away. They're as bad as each other and I have to bundle them into Taxis quickly when they get stinking drunk at company parties.

It's amusing that the ones in the know treat me like their work mom and the ones that are fairly new to the company or don't interact with my department often and don't really know who I am yet will treat me like their peers and try to get me to do shots with them. I have been treated to many sheepish looks weeks later when they see me leading department meetings or delivering my departments segment in the bi annual business update. I try not to judge when we're off the clock, we were all that young once.
>>80058574
I would smile and say "Interesting that you would ask me that. Relationships can be so complicated these days. Some men run a mile if you try to tie them down like that. Does your boyfriend mind being called your boyfriend?", then wait for them to take the bait, then keep the ball in their court.

If it were someone my age asking the same thing I'd respond the same way. "Situationship" is such an easy out because it's such a nonsense term. It really depends on the audience but most people wouldn't pry if I told them I hadn't met a man who I found acceptable yet. Fortunately I'm at an age now where nobody would dare ask me those awful questions like "have you had a boyfriend?", "have you had sex?", "are you a virgin?", "are you batting for the other team?", "Do you like willies?", "Are you asexual?". In your 30s many just assume you're experienced and will keep on assuming that until you tell them otherwise. I'm coy with my colleagues simple because I hate lying.
>>
>>80058964
Don't know if you've been asked this before, but have tried therapy?
>>
>>80059061
I was asked recently. I found therapy quite pointless. There are those who don't respond well to the usual offerings and I'm one of them. I abhor therapy mostly because I find that therapy isn't about solving your problems, it's about making you ok with the fact that you have them. That isn't how humans are designed to work. We only adapt when no other options are available to us, until we've tried everything we can. Giving up and accepting a reality you find unacceptable is nothing short of cowardice in my eyes. I'd rather die by a thousand paper cuts in the attempt to live life on my terms than purposely allow myself to accept less and live a life of quiet, weak willed, agonized compromise. At least when I torture myself going to sleep I can tell myself this is honestly what I chose. I don't die a little inside every night knowing that this sadness is what I settled for.

I try to limit myself. I know that more than 2 glasses of wine and I get a little sloppy so my rule is 2 glasses of water or fruit juice for every 1 glass of wine. I've found that pace keeps me lucid and in control. I saved your post. You said this quite nicely, I wish I was eloquent like you. I feel the same, usually I just tell people I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees but " I'd rather die by a thousand paper cuts in the attempt to live life on my terms than purposely allow myself to accept less and live a life of quiet, weak willed, agonized compromise." is even better.

Back then i would mainly make him write rape fantasies and powerplay stuff. But nowadays i prefer nsfw ai bots on discord coded by women of my favorite game characters. Stop thinking you're fighting the good fight by hoping to pester someone else in the future who doesn't want to have anything to do with you, that's not living by your own terms that's just being silly.

I'm looking at sisternonas posting history and Im so confused. It sounds like she met her brother when she was 12 and he was 16 or what. And she fell in love with him? Incest? He then had to leave the country and they didn't see each other for 10 years and thats why she wants to die as an adult? no idea wtf is going on

At this point there's nothing I can do to alter his perception of me, the die was cast a long time ago, so the best I can do is simply allow myself to become a memory. I'm already mulling over selling up and moving to the USA. I can claim my passport pretty easily and live a perfectly quiet life in Ohio or Wisconsin or Nebraska. I've romanticized the idea anyway. I doubt the reality would be as easy.

Then you fundamentally misunderstood what therapy is about, or you likely had a bad therapist. Therapy is supposed to teach you mechanisms for overcoming problems, but many of those problems can't be overcome if you haven't had the time and the means to properly process them. You have to learn to face what your mind typically doesn't want to process and then talk that out. It means making yourself vulnerable, which goes against every instinct life has taught you before because vulnerability is blood in the water for the sharks to come feast on you.

I've seen several therapists and been to several group therapy circles and each time I had to face a lot of things I didn't like and developed ways to cope with that in an environment where I knew I wasn't going to get torn down for being vulnerable. I never had to settle down for less or compromise with a weaker version of myself. In fact, my time in therapy helped to make me better than I would have been because I developed better strategies for dealing with what life throws at me. If I hadn't embraced it, I'd still be the emotionally weak, pushover whose confidence was tied to her athleticism.

I try to limit myself. I know that more than 2 glasses of wine and I get a little sloppy so my rule is 2 glasses of water or fruit juice for every 1 glass of wine
For me, it's a glass of wine/cocktail or two beers in an hour with a 1:2 ratio of water or eating food. Regardless of how well I pace myself though I always get some form of drunk because despite being tall I am a lightweight.
>nobody can ever see you cry.
That's such a stunted way of viewing interpersonal relationships. Not having a person to hug and a shoulder to cry on when things get overwhelming is one of the worst things. When done properly it's a great source of catharsis and it helps yourself heal and the relationship with that person grow stronger.

You have to understand some of us just don't respond to it. It doesn't help it can end up hurting and causing problems the whole time. Wasn't until advice here andna psychiatrist I was able to get on my meds and now I'm finally moving forward in my life. My problems aren't solved but I feel much more capable of tackling them and driven to do so. Not saying that's what that Nona needs but they've already mentioned therapy not working previously. I ended up getting this all my life and discussions like this. No one would listen that I needed help.

Many try therapy once and not have it work out, then write the whole thing off entirely. Sometimes it's a slow process and sometimes there are points of little progress before a breakthrough. One of my coworkers has a documented case of med-resistant incurable depression, so I'm sure there are some people for whom therapy doesn't work, but you don't figure that out unless you fail multiple times after putting in an honest effort to heal. For some that can be a decade's long process or more, but it does require an earnest effort, otherwise you're being dishonest and purposefully sabotaging yourself.

Who gets to judge what is honest work though? If it's not something that works the first couple of times with someone who can help you achieve this work that it's not a good way to go about things. I know this isn't the same but it's like breaking a bone then going to 18 different doctors who keep trying to reset a bone that was mended the wrong way. Either there is a good doctor who knows how to do their job or going to these doctors is not the solution. I don't know I don't like that I've personally had to waste nearly two decades just to finally get help when these so called therapist should have been able to figure it our from the beginning.

Or perhaps the way I type is a unique blend of formal business English and my own American-Irish vernacular? I couldn't really say why I type like this, only that I do. Do you really think an AI could replicate it if it's as unique as you say? You're aware of how AI and language models work aren't you? They're more liable to communicate using the lowest common denominator. AI cannot make things up.
>>80060181

Haha. No no. I only meant to imply that if I sold my house here or used my savings I could buy or put a heavy downpayment on a house in a flyover state in the USA. I'm not sure what I'd do for work. I doubt they'd have much use for a corporate drone. Bee keeping doesn't look as fun or as profitable as it seems and running a general store as a tiny middle aged woman is a recipe for disaster. Perhaps I'd just work remotely.

I spent my university years in therapy. 4 if you count the have-a-go teacher-come-online class therapist I saw in my final year of school. I don't count her because it was obvious she had no idea what she was doing and I wouldn't have trusted her as far as I could throw her. I ended up just doing homework in silence in those sessions. I've heard a lot of things from the professional therapists the university had on staff, unfortunately none of it resonated nona. I gave it a fair shake but I left those sessions angry and fed up. Perhaps it just wasn't the right fit. I need to find something. If I carry on like this I'll just burn out or drink myself to death or both, or worse.

More so than probably anyone on this site. Yes, it can make things up. A LLM means it's trained on pretty much anything that can be found on the internet.

if you want I could probably have it replicate your writing style. But I'm not sure I want to waste that much time to prove a point.

To have it replicate my writing style you'd need to feed it my posts, thus proving my point that AI cannot make anything up. The A in AI means artificial moid. It cannot create, it can only mimic. Honestly moid, i'd expect better reasoning from you. Goodnight.
