yes! desu, i haven't gone to the movies in a long time, but i have this memory when i took my niece and little cousin. i took them to a candy store and a convenience store so they could pick out their favorite treats before going to the theater :D we made a day of it.

Every human being is special, and no one is defined by the images they post or the aesthetics they favor. However, when moids tweak out about surface level traits like "posts memes" or "likes goth music and fashion" hoping it's someone they know, they're just showing how they see women as shallow sets of traits instead of for their personalities, or dreams to call back to my earlier post. This is why they accuse so many women of being shallow. It's an admission of guilt. They accuse women of only caring about shopping and sex because they only see women for their clothes and makeup and their tits.
It's not even as simple as that meaning that moid also only cares about clothes and sex. I'm not saying something as simplistic or generalizing as "All men only want Stacy". But it's about the way they digest and categorize the world and the people around them. So by extension, women who don't wear makeup or who have quirkier hobbies don't immediately get sorted into some category in their heads. Men seem to seek subtle novelty, emphasis on the subtle. If you're too different, it sort of like fries their sensors and sets off alarms that you are a Trying To Be Different Girl. If you fly just under their radar, they're intrigued and you become a genuine Manic Pixie Dream Girl to them. Men are easily impressed because of this sorting system. As long as you don't immediately register as any stereotype, positive or negative, they'll usually project positive associations on to you or see you as unique. Being a manic pixie dream girl just means dressing in a way or liking music or movies whatever moid is looking at you has never seen before or has never associated with a woman who either turned him down or couldn't even be bothered to notice he exists.

It has been true in my experience and in the experience of a lot of other friends, acquaintances and girls online I've talked to. Agoraphobia is classified as an anxiety disorder, but yes, I sometimes struggle with crowded places and prefer my back against a wall with eyes on an exit. I did this subconsciously as a kid without ever realizing. I share your capability to push through so I can overcome obstacles. I sometimes struggle to sleep until I finish the things I need to get done and it has lead to multiple burnouts. That's more likely an OCD thing though.

Mhm. When people think of adrenaline addictions they think of skydiving or roller-coasters, but our bodies release it during our daily lives too. I remember reading this blog of a woman who explained what she went through in her daily life that I completely related to. She said that whenever she was walking down a path and someone would walk opposite of her going the other way, she would start feeling vigilant. She would prepare herself to move to the side so they could pass, way before they were even close to her. Then she would hyper focus on her movements and prepare to say a greeting to them. As soon as the pedestrian had passed her, she would feel this wave of relief wash over her.
I have no idea if there's any medication or treatment for it, or if it's even recognized as an actual disorder. The woman from the blog was very... spiritual. I just try and force my body to relax in the hopes I don't die of a heart attack one day in my 40s.

I saw a video on this that describes a guy doing an experiment on two different pottery classes. In one class he tells them to make a perfect cup or bowl or something and at the of the semester they'll be graded on the bowl they turn in. In another class he tells the class to make a certain number of bowls every week. By the end of the course, the class that made the most bowls made much higher quality pieces than the class who focused on making a perfect bowl.

All of that is to say just keep making shitty art, and slowly you'll notice your skill improve. Were you immediately good at any of your other hobbies or did you slowly get better at them too?

I dislike shopping in supermarkets and spend as little time as possible in them. I really dislike how insidious they are. I'm also the worst kind of consumer and go to the grocery store with a list, buy only what is on that list, stick to mainly cheap produce instead of packaged pre-prepared foods and buy fresh meats and fish. If they're going to keep pumping up the price of food, I'm going to buy as little as I can, focus on the foods with the least profit margin and hurt their bottom line as much as possible.

Here in Ireland there are a few supermarkets open late like ALDI. I like to go on a friday night around 9pm and get all of my shopping for the week done. With nobody crowding the isles it can be done very quickly. Sometimes within 20 minutes. ALDI is my favourite supermarket as the main stock rarely changes and the meat/produce is generally high quality. The only thing I'm really guilty of impulse buying is wine. They sometimes get in really nice stuff. It's easy to say no to chocolates and sweets because I prefer to make my own without the preservatives and additives.

Off to work soon. My schedule is packed full of stuff I don't want to do. I'm kicking off the day with a 2 hour meeting... At least it's friday!

Aldi here even in America is not open late. The Walmart here was great when they were open 24/7. I could go there at 3am and do my shopping without encountering anyone except the workers, parents doing an emergency diaper trip, or even rare once in a while a college student who liked shopping at night. Making food from scratch most certainly helps protect you (somewhat) against shrinkflation since a bunch of celery or a head of lettuce is still that, even if it's more expensive over time. It's definitely pushed me to discover how much I can make on my own now (bread, chicken stock, etc).

It's a great reason to get into gardening too. I probably save hundreds dollars on just tomatoes, lemons and peppers and fresh spices alone, and that's from a relatively small deck space with planters.
