Hearing crows caw nearby is always fun. I want to find out how to feed them and earn their trust
>>80067390I feed my local crows shelled walnuts and they quite like it. I got a treat pouch meant for feeding a dog treats on a walk and I clip it to my belt and feed crows when I go on walks. They follow me now and swoop down beside me and call for me to feed them when they want a snack. Sometimes they will bring me small objects like stones or bottle caps, my favorite item they've given me is tied between a beat-up d20 and a really fucked-up scrabble tile of the letter H.
>>80067404Thats some cool shit, id just like having them eat shit i put out and sit there with them. Not trying to pet or grab them or anything, and them not coming right up to me but we both just there existing peacefully together
>>80067390ChatGPT-it. It's the best way to do it in 2025.1
>>80067418Yeah, I started that way and now they're more comfortable. I still would never try to touch or get them to land on me at all, I respect them as cool wild animals. They keep a distance of a few feet, and when they give me things they drop them and pick them up then drop them closer so I understand it's for me. The first gift was probably around four or five months into feeding them. I've been doing it for five years now, and I think multiple generations have taught each other what I look like, when I wear my most visible common coat more random crows seem to recognize me better. Some of the regulars I can recognize from features, like there's one with a missing toe on his left foot I call Left.
