The last few years have been a bit of a shit show where everyone pretended to take women seriously but it's been shifting back to normal again recently.There are pros and cons to it obviously. Engineers in industry (only experience is working with utilities) can be rough arnd the edges bc money and reputation is on the line. You also have to defend and explain constantly, hence the superiority thing. Smaller industries can be weirdly intense too. I guess bc its important but not glamorous so you compensate by taking it so seriously. Most engineers have some stories abt nightmare coworkers or bosses on technical details.
