>be me, cs student
>take Software Engineering I in Fall, Software Engineering II in Spring
>the two classes are essentially one continuous group project
>myself and three others in my group
>quickly realize one person is doing literally nothing
>finish the course, present the project
>classmates from other groups not paying any attention to presentation, just texting on their phones
>professor grilles us over supposed issues with documents they themselves approved
>Spring semester starts a few weeks ago
>one person in my group got kicked out of the class on day 1, before they could even walk into the room
>another person just stops showing up to the classes
>from four people, my group is down to myself and one other person
>had first meeting today, both me and the other guy completely forgot about it
You know what, now that I write this, I realize all of this isn't pointless. Inadvertently, the professor has allowed me (and I assume my classmates) to get a glimpse into the real world. I'm just kind of disappointed with what I've seen so far. I'm going to try and power through this shit, despite the fact I've gotten off to a crappy start. blogpost over, you can call me a retard now.

Yeah, the most brutal blackpill I have ever swallowed is the fact that one's social status and intelligence during college perfectly predict how you will be during work. As well it opens you to the fact that in one of these jobs you will work with, or worse, work for, one of those retards who skip classes or don't do shit during group work.
I think, yeah, that's the point why professors still do those group projects during college years, even if the students complain about it and feel like it is childish to continue doing that past K-12. However, that's how things are, sadly.

i had a large project with a bunch of foids (like 5) and 1 other guy. it took them weeks to add me to the group chat. it pissed me off so much. fucking normalfags. holy fuck

The professor is just very bad at his job. University is not supposed to have anything at all to do with the real world. It is supposed to be purely related to knowledge. The only way to attempt this is in many ways making it the opposite of real world.
Complain to the Dean, President, and student affairs. Get multiple students to corroborate. Express dissatisfaction with his job performance. State plainly an enumerated list of his failures. Within reason, offer a few ways to satisfy the group and right the wrongs. I would start with a full refund for the cost and all related costs of taking the class and the professors immediate termination from the institution. The letter should be written in anger, be clear and easily understood, and have a formal tone. If you have any ways of hurting them you should tactfully include them in the letter without making a direct threat. Do this or else doesn't leave much room for a conversation. "should the gross neglect and abuse of paying students continue to occur with no attempt made to address our grievances we will feel compelled to seek assistance from a higher authority blah blah" Typically the student newspaper is a good starting point, but it is better to involve the local news stations. They probably get federal funding or at least federal student loans. This is always the best way to hurt a university. University is too expensive to deal with useless retarded fuckups who have no aptitude for nor intention to act as a professor.
The key is making it seem riskier or more painful for them to keep the professor that it would be to simply get rid of him. The first response will probably be to, or they may even ignore. That's when you escalate to the press, with further escalation to government if needed.

Uni is broken. I'd like to contribute to the thread but I'm too fucking drained from sitting on a wooden chair all day moving my head around the other students trying to see what the teacher with a thick accent is writting on the board so I can copy it into my notes without understanding what it's about

A similar thing happened to me. 4 foids + me, in a communication class. None of them wanted me to be with me in the group and clearly HATED MY GUTS, and so I did every work on my part in a single class and got out earlier that day and didn't go back until presentation time (last day of the class). The female professor was close to giving me an F, but I told her to look at my female classmates to see how "cooperative" they were to her and she knew I was right and gave me a B-.

I have despised communication classes and communication majors since then. Not to mention that every cunt and faggot who has been a communication major has been my sworn enemy, no exceptions.

I've had two classes where we had to interview a real fucking person. I dropped it the second time because it's actually really hard to get randoms to care about your school assignment.

If it makes you feel any better anon, I dropped out of university twice. Couldnt stick it, too open ended in terms of what work needed done and time management.
I just work as a mechanic now, it suits me better, problem comes in, I know the solution from experience, I give the customer back their car fixed later on or the next day. Simple.

The amount of humiliation rituals you're subjected to in college can not be overstated. Good God, the number of times I felt this creeping dread as I looked around and wondered if anyone else felt the way I did right now.

Oof. Felt that. And 100% of the time, people just didn't care.

we had a course on Actuality and Possible Worlds and had to make a fucking timeline of events for something that could happen earlier or later at every point.

I graduated in December and I feel like 90 percent of shit I did in college was completely useless

I doesn't get better when you study a Masters degree or any other postgraduate program
talking from experience
>>
>>80069297
lel, first project I turned in when I studied CS got a shitty grade for having a test section they didn't ask for and also for not including a test section.
To be fair, the assignment did specify both so the game was rigged from the start.

This is harrowing. It's the whole concept of a generation inheriting an infrastructure they are incapable of maintaining or defending playing out in real time.
>>
>>80069297
>cs student
switch to accounting or something while you still can
>>

>a generation inheriting an infrastructure they are incapable of maintaining or defending
the vast majority of college grads aren't doing that. most of them end up with bullshit jobs answering emails and attending meetings for $150k / year. meanwhile the actual maintaining of infrastructure is done by low-paid grunts, most likely imported from a third-world country.
>>
>>80072559
He probably meant infrastructure literally, not mopping floors or whatever you imagine infrastructure to mean. Third worlders don't know how to even begin working on infrastructure. It is too complicated for them, and they are much too stupid to ever understand. Third worlders can't even work on projects started in the last five years without breaking something. It is so much worse when you are looking to maintain legacy software.
>>
>>80072775
it's not "mopping floors", it's maintaining infrastructure. construction, manufacturing, software development, you name it; they're all being done by low-paid grunts and a lot of them are either mexican or (in the case of development) indian. the project managers and site supervisors aren't the ones actually doing the work.

Group projects suck dick, I always hated them. They usually require someone as a leader to make sure everyone does their part, so no one gets overloaded, but a lot of times no one steps up as the leader, then you're forced to do it and it's annoying, as you have to keep watching over everyone like they're children. At least depending on what they're about it shouldn't be too hard for you to do it all alone and explain to your professor your situation, but sometimes there's a lot of stuff you need to do and doing as a group is the best.

I remember two group projects that sucked when I was in college, one you had to work some math equations, write your own code to run simulations, get the data and make some graphs and make your slides to present the data, my group would never respond messages on the group chat, it was me and one dude that did almost everything and the other four members would take days to respond until the last day or so where they scrambled to find something to do after I told them they wouldn't get any credit for it otherwise. Another group project was similar, you had to run experiments, gather data, do some bullshit and write a report, I basically did everything. Wrote a code that took all the data gathered in the experiment and shit out the info I needed for the report and asked them to write the report (literally 70% done btw) and just told everyone in the group that they were fucked if they didn't help because I wouldn't deal with their bullshit, somehow I ended up as the asshole even though they got the most low effort A ever and were lazy fucks. Anyway, just more bullshit you have to deal with to get your degree.

Having a degree never helped me before in my life
