having a WFM white collar job is insane. I literally did nothing today. Absolutely nothing. Just at home playing video games like a day off, but getting paid $23 an hour to do so. It's debatable if these jobs should fucking exist. I used to be a warehouse wagie and a fast food wagie so I know how some people are literally slaves, I was one. Now I live this gilded life and through sheer luck

how'd you get the job anon? clue us in
>>
>>80070699
What do you do? Every WFH job I've had was in CS and I was constantly being checked.
>>
>>80070711
>>80070713
It's public sector which is probably why it's both low pay (for CS type thing) but also very lax

I do partial wfh. Half I work in the field and the other half is just behind a computer at home. I have no central office so I am wfh permanently and the in-field part is what keeps my job from going to a jeet. Some weeks are busy as fuck but others I do maybe 10 hours of real work and 30 playing Minecraft or cleaning the house but get paid for the full 40. I could go elsewhere and make more but I know it would be hard to find this much freedom.
>>
always wfh cucks saying stupid shit like
>I literally did nothing today
stop LYING bro you literally waking up early af and checking into your laptop and pretending to work and shit like a faggot still a rat in a cage being a wagie ass wagie
>>
>>80071631
>stop LYING bro you literally waking up early af and checking into your laptop
Depends on the team and software used for tracking your work hours
>>
>>80071631
>>80071659
Not OP, but for me, I'm salaried and not tracked and I do spend some days doing literally no work. But I was like that before 2020 too. Just did it while at the office instead of at home. And I do a ton of work other days. We have two week sprints so usually I'll do nothing in the beginning and then do two weeks of work all at once towards the end.

nobody tracks me cause I get my laptop with nothing on it. Yesterday I did my standup, went to sleep for 5 hours, checked in on messages, did chores and then played vidya
on paper I'm still busy on some ticket that I will finish last minute, or I won't. Really don't care.

$91.35/hr to play WoW today. Living the dream.
>>
>>80071682
>salaried
>some days doing literally no work
>a ton of work other days
Literally me. Boss doesn't care as long as the job gets done.
>>
>>80071808
>nobody tracks me cause I get my laptop with nothing on it
shouldn't have said tracking since one always thinks about tracking software on the device but what i rather meant was time tracking where you put in the time when you worked (that's probably some regulatory bullshit my country requires idk if it's used anywhere else)
>>
>>80071823
>$91.35/hr
fucking import me to america I HATE BEING EUROPOOR
>>
>>80071869
>where you put in the time when you worked
who cares? put 8 hours on the ticket you're supposed to work on, or put 5 hours of meetings, or whatever. it's not that difficult
>>
>>80071869
I'm >>80070756. It's a well known secret in our company that a lot of our employees in my division don't really work 40 hours but we can put 40 hours worked down as long as customers are happy, the job is done in a reasonable time and we can prove we did something that week. Even if that something is 30 minutes of paperwork.
>>
>>80071890
That is where the regulatory bullshit comes is where you have to put in when uou started and stopped your workday. It's not about individual tickets or whatever. I can just add those times manually do i can wake up late but a friend of mine has to wake up on time because the software at his job requires to 'clock in' and you can't hust edit the times when you've worked
>>
>>80071929
>the software at his job requires to 'clock in' and you can't hust edit the times when you've worked
okay but then just look for another job lol
i would never even accept a job at a company like that unless they pay me so much i couldn't refuse
>>
>>80071900
I mean nobody works 40 hourscat office jobs as even in the office people start to judt gossip and do other things rather than just work
>>
>>80071938
>okay but then just look for another job lol
that's not my problem and my friend doesn't care that he had to be awake at 9
>>
>>80071950
then why are you speaking at all? whats the purpose of you being here? wtf is wrong with you you weird autist is this leading to some conclusion??
>>
>>80071973
>then why are you speaking at all
Because i work from home
>>
>>80071941
They do that because they have to find some reason to stay sane in a cubicle hell of people they barely tolerate. Most companies will let it slide in 30 minute to 1 hour intervals to maintain employee morale but still loom over your neck. All for them to come home and toil with chores like laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc. I can get all that done on the clock so when it comes time for leisure time I can actually do what I want.
>>
>>80070699
me too
living the life and loving it
it's a 50/50% on whether i actually work in a day, i'll usually have one solid week per month with solid hours of work
>>
>>80070699
This is how it was for me since the Covid lockdown but recently a tryhard asskissing colleague created a ticket system for our work requests that management check up on rather than just letting us respond to emails directly at their own pace and pretend we're busier than we are. I hate him so much, I would be more understanding if he was a manager himself who needed to provide stats for people higher up in the chain but this is a guy who made life worse for all of us voluntarily. We can't undo it though, once bosses have power they're not going to let it go.

All that being said I can still watch movies and shit and be in my PJs all day whilst I work, so I still have it better than being in the office.
