Did you end up leaving you hometown? If so, why, and how did it turn out?
Were your parents upset that you left? Do you miss it?

I'm planning on leaving this year because there aren't any decent jobs here outside of healthcare, and there aren't many people my age (mid-20s) to hang out with. My parents (especially my mom) are against it because I'm basically the only person they talk to.

Nigger i never even left my parents' house

>Did you end up leaving you hometown?
Yes, I moved across the globe, literally to the other side
>If so, why,
It was a shit hole, no future there
>and how did it turn out?
So far so good. Im very popular because I'm white and speak the language
>Were your parents upset that you left?
Yes, but they were understanding and funded it
>Do you miss it?
Just the food and my family. Everyone else can go to hell

Where to, if you don't mind telling

>Just the food and my family. Everyone else can go to hell
I'll defintely miss my family. Also the scenery. Food here is shit tho, literally Brit-tier. People here are nice but can be very cliquish; my parents and I moved here 20 years ago and we still don't really fit in with the locals

>Do it, the sooner the better, dont keep postponing like I did
Yeah I've been postponing for 3 years in hopes that I'd find a career here, but it doesn't look like its gonna happen
>>

I left but only about twenty miles away, maybe fifteen as the crow flies. (though that was across a state line). Happened mainly because my parents got divorced and had to sell the house. I'm in between them now, my dad stayed pretty close to where we were, my mom's like 10 miles away from me in the other direction. They don't talk to each other obviously, but I still get to see both of them.

I bought a house one town over so it's easy to visit. Still have all the problems you have, except I have a nice job
>>
>>80077251
Left for college. I did great, like the few of us that left; home town turned into a regionally infamous shithole that is a black mark to even mention. lol, lmao even.

Why not, straya.

Brit food is great shut your whore mouth
Yeah missing family sucks but you get used to it and theres video call.
>Yeah I've been postponing for 3 years in hopes that I'd find a career here, but it doesn't look like its gonna happen
My only regret is not doing it sooner. Just do it , its gonna be all right. Dont let fear steal the best in you

Yes I did because it was a toxic town full of angry white trash. There was basically no good looking girls in my public education either. So not only was I among the loser gamer geek outcasts but there wasn't even any stacys to look at or want in the first place. My parents encouraged me to leave. Though they were delusional like all baby boomers and thought I was somehow magically going to figure out how to become rich and successful with no connections or skills or talent or ambitions. To this day my mother regrets ever moving there. It was mostly bad experiences but eventually I ended up with a small house in a beach town on the coast where I am now. The ironic part is we lived in a nice beach town for like the first 3 years of my life before moving to the toxic shithole because my father grew up there. I wonder if that first town imprinted on me a lot even though I don't remember it and that's why I've always liked beach towns. Don't expect a lot of good times but if your hometown sucks you have to move or it'll just keep getting worse the longer you're there. I sometimes wonder what my life would have been like if I grew up somewhere else around different people but the past is done with there's no going back.

Yuropoor?
How did you manage to get in
Got my visa rejected twice
>>

Same experience, except I had a "rich redneck" sort of town where all the tradies who owned construction companies lived. I can't fault them for wanting better for their kids, but they clearly had no fucking clue how to raise the little shits that eventually ran the place into the ground upon reaching legal adulthood.
My graduating class is such a disgrace they cancelled the 10th reunion since the best most of them got was menial fucking retail. No criminal record already put you at the top 10% of the ranking board. The sheriff's department mugshot page is pretty much the equivalent of the school yearbook now. lol, lmao even.

I left my hometown in 2020 to my parents holiday home in the middle of nowhere since dad retired and mum had cancer so maintaining 2 properties was too much for them. In 2022 I moved closer to the city because one of my aunts apartments tenant moved out (I tried getting my own one in 2020 but I had no luck).

I like having shops and things so close but at the same time im a man child so I fucked up my diet and have done a lot of retarded things. Not to mention the cabin fever. Im only starting to get my life together at 30yo

This looks remarkably similar to Falls End in Far Cry 5

I was a Navy brat, no one stays in one spot in those towns
Every year a bunch of your friends move away, then a bunch of new kids show up. Or you move away to a new town full of other Navy brats.

I'm envious of people who had a hometown and grew up knowing everyone for like decades. If I have kids, I'm going to try and give them that life.

>I'm envious of people who had a hometown and grew up knowing everyone for like decades
Eh... I've lived in my hometown for over two decades and I still don't know anyone here. I lost touch with the few friends I had immediately after highschool, and nearly all of our family friends either died or left the state.

The town itself has been heavily gentrified by retirees and WFH yuppies, and is unrecognizable (not in a good way) compared to when we first moved here around 2002

>Did you end up leaving you hometown?
The first time I did so was for college, the second was for a job across the globe for a year, the third and longest stint was for a job in California.

>Were your parents upset that you left?
No

>Do you miss it?
No everyone in my class fit into three demographics
>sports
>drugs
>music
I was the odd man out being more of a digital artist. Every time I visited more people had settled down with kids, town sucked.

>I've lived in my hometown for over two decades and I still don't know anyone here. I lost touch with the few friends I had immediately after highschool
I think that's a symptom of the times. No one knows anyone anymore.

When I graduated high school (2004), I still had another year before we had to move again (my parents told me to wait to go to college until after we moved) and I hung out with my old HS friends all the time, like 2-3 times a week until I moved away again.
>>
>>80079867
>everyone in my class fit into three demographics
Same here, except it was
>sports
>church
>hunting

>Every time I visited more people had settled down with kids, town sucked
Occasionally I bump into people I went to HS with, or just people my age in general, and everyone is married and busy with their own lives. Even if I wanted to hang out with them they'd never have the time.
>>
>>80078202
at least you had a friend group i guess

>Did you end up leaving you hometown?
yes, five years ago when I was 24
>If so, why, and how did it turn out?
Shit childhood, shit reputation, shit future, shit hand in life. I decided that I'd rather risk dying homeless on the other side of the country than keep living that way
>Were your parents upset that you left?
they were upset that they lost their scapegoat/emotional punching bag
>Do you miss it?
no. I miss the nature, the food, and some places I remember going as a kid, but most of the people I grew up around can get hit by a bus for all I care
>>
>>80077251
i moved 3000km away, coast to coast. parents kicked me out not too long after high school, i was a college freshman. dont miss the town but i do sometimes wish things went differently with my family. i was couch surfing the country for a bit but eventually ended up here and homeless. that was 3 years ago and ive since gotten a place with flatmates and live the exact lifestyle my parents hated me for - never leaving my room falling in love with underage anime girls with every show i watch, i don't even work a full time job.

Yes I joined the army at 18 in 2009. Went to afghanistan twice. My parents were very scared because I was just a 11b doing grunt shit. I missed it.

I came back afterwords and live in town in my own house now. I enjoy it. Its quiet. I have my dogs. After seeing the shit of the world its nice having a small slice of "normal"
>>

Hence why I haven't been back, the last time I was physically there was seven years ago.

>church
Hmmm...That was something folks in my class never talked about for some reason.
>>
>>80077251
I was the last person in my family to move out of my hometown. I moved in with my mom for 5 years, till she moved to Florida, then my dad followed her

Now it's me and my sister here in misery
>>

>Yuropoor?
Latam, but ethnically german. Dont ask, you know
>How did you manage to get in
Rich parents, also doing higher education instead of english. I do see a lot of poorfags, some even old, from latam, doing english courses. How the heck your visa was denied, maybe try doing it through a company, if you already did change company because that one is shit. I mean for fucks sake I see literal somalis getting a visa, did you kill someone or what.
>>
>>80081071
Thinking of enlisting as a 19k, hopefully going career so I get a pension. Is it worth it? Or am I better off staying a wagie?

>>80081112
>Hence why I haven't been back
That must suck. I know it'll be the same for me after I've left. I'll definitely want to return to see my parents and the nature again, but it will be weird to come back to the place I grew up in and have no old friends to catch up with
>>
>>80082448
No, its just almost impossible to get a visa as a western yuropoor. You need to have a company sponsor you (which theyll never do since they only recruit pajeets) or have a family member in the country
>somalis are getting visas
Its easier for a somali to get in any country on earth. They get refugee status, i dont.
