Im 18 I left school early do I go to high school or college

GED first. Decide what occupation you want to do before you even think about college or a trade. If you're doing college, you can get a bachelor's degree in 18 months with SNHU or WGU if you take Sophia Learning courses and transfer their credits. You're very young and have a lot of opportunity and time. I wish I knew what I knew now at 27 at 18 years old.

Don't waste your life like most of the bums here. High school means nothing. All that matters is you get your diploma or GED, and get into either a good trade or get a degree depending on if the job you want requires it. Don't just go to college because you feel like you have to though. That's the worst thing you can do. Know what you want to do first, and then work towards it. Good luck.

Ok thanks anon. I dont know what SNHU or WGU or sophia learning courses are or what I want to do in life

My dad is pushing me to go to HS but I have a feeling Ill regret it, is the potential socialisation worth it? I dont think so

I literally have the education of a 13 year old, so I dont know how I feel about rushing into getting a GED either

Im so lossst iiuuuhh..

I've never taken the GED before because I got my diploma, but it seriously can't be too hard. Look at your state laws to see if you can qualify for taking the test for the GED. Most states allow you to at 18 (if you live in America).

Going back to high school would be dumb. Ill tell you right now, nobody gives a shit if you have a GED or diploma. High school is that insignificant. I'd get a book to study for the GED and get it over with though. Like I said, you still have tons of time. But you don't want to be worrying about still getting a GED in your 20s.

>My dad is pushing me to go to HS but I have a feeling Ill regret it, is the potential socialisation worth it? I dont think so

You are 18 though. There's no reason to go back to high school. That ship has sailed.

>I dont know what SNHU or WGU or sophia learning courses are

SNHU and WGU are both online colleges. Sophia Learning is a website where you can finish college courses in like 3 to 7 days each and transfer them to SNHU or WGU to essentially speedrun a degree to save money and time.

Like I said though, you want to figure out what you want to do before you go into higher education. My mom forced me into college when I was 18, and I didn't want to be there because I didn't like my major and wasn't motivated for it. When you know what you want to do first and have a goal, it makes executing it way easier.

I qualify for the test, yeah, but I cant self study at all, like really.

Wouldnt HS educate me so I can pass the GED exam? I could just go for the GED?

Also I have no interest in anything. I dont have hobbies aside from vidya. Ill need to look into jobs that are on the simpler side and prepare for that I guess.

Tnx Anonie!!!!!!!

I guess it depends what kind of learner you are. I don't know the process because I never dropped out, but I assume you would only have to go back to high school for one year to get your diploma. Is that right? If that's what you want to do, go ahead. It's only one year.

This is normal at your age. I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life until I was 25. (I dropped out of college initially because I was majoring in something I wasn't passionate about). So I'm 27 now playing catch up.

And no problem anon. It's good to see someone actually thinking about their future for once on this board. I was once one of these dudes on /r9k/ who just worked a shitty retail job and lived with my mom for 7 years disregarding any plans for any future or self sustainability until I was 25. I don't wish that kind of life on my worst enemy cause it truly sucks and is just one giant waste of time. I can't turn back the clock to being 18 again with the knowledge I have now, but the least I can do is give another 18 year old some advice.

That hits hard...Thanks for being real with me

I think Ill just go to HS for an easier learning experience, and once I have enough I can get my GED, right? They teach you enough?

And I hope you get everything youve ever wanted.
