/r9k/, I ask if you had to define or get at the core of what a normie is, what would it be?

If I had to try to define it, a normie is someone for whom hitting the basic life beats as prescribed by society and its various institutions is not an uphill battle. I will also include maintaining relationships (both platonic and romantic) in there as well. Life for them is more akin to following an Ikea manual, making sure you insert screw A into piece of wood #5B. Things can still go wrong or get turbulent (much like assembling Ikea furniture), but following the set script from society is like water following down stream.

That is not to say they didn't face any adversity in life. Even the biggest Chad's at one point had to work up the nerve to ask a girl out that first time. But things like getting that first girlfriend just sort of happens, or going to prom is just a given, or falling into a career path and sticking to it. They may need some help or a guiding hand here and there, but they get there without needing to read books written by men in fuzzy hats, or having to think about "maxxing."

For me, a normie is simply someone who doesn't think for themselves. Domesticated humans.
