I was listening to a podcast while driving to work (45 minute commute) and most normies think 4chan is too hard and complex to use. I asked some other people why they think 4chan is hard and most responded that captcha is too hard. Is the captcha actually that hard for some people?

If one fren has it and sends you and everyone else he knows a photocopy of the whole 100 pages of the book he could get his door kicked down and his dog shot and then no one can get the book. But if you can ask 100 people that own the book to each send one page each, then it's harder for the glowies to shut it down. If 50 people get shut down then the remaining 50 people can just send you two pages each instead of one, it'll just take a bit longer for them to print out two pages instead of one.
