please don't, it's just algorithms copying other humans, just do anything to see other people and befriend them at least, or play with others. you should want more than that for yourself.

yeah I work fulltime, my co workers are okay but theres no clicking really, they are fine people but none of them are friends with each other. I have some hobbies, I play guitar, lift, draw, did archery but I cant find a club thats open anymore near me, I like to go into nature a lot. i'm a trained counsellor. and i'm going to be honest: ChatGPT isn't half bad when people use it as a therapist.

you lose something through not having another human in the room, obviously, but video call therapy is a thing now. the NHS offered me CBT online, over text chat, through some company they had a deal with. you could absolutely automate that.

sounds like a good bunch of hobbies, see if there's any way you can connect with people who guitar, gym or do art? probably more genuine connections for you there. there's the people on here too of course but you're rolling a dice whether you get us that you see, or the schizoid angry men, and we're just text on a screen so.

yeah and it's both an art and a science. if you can find a good therapist with a modality that works for you, great.

but even just jotting stuff down or having it bounced back at you can be a big help. that's how a lot of humanistic/person-centred counselling works anyway: a chatbot can do the same reflecting/paraphrasing/questioning a Carl-Rogers-style therapist would do.

just remembered "pretty privilege" was one of those Tumblr terms way back when. by girls/women, not evil misogynists.

that said, there's a reason YOU care. when it was Sarah Everard, i'd check in with the less-important murders in the news. the patterns weren't exactly subtle.
>>
That poor girls last moments were spent crying, alone on a train in horrific pain and panic realising her life was over, whilst these black bastards got up and walked straight past her to let her die alone on a dirty train floor with not even a hand to hold. Disgusting and shameful people.
>>
>>82494426
The media tried to memoryhole this one initially. There was a press briefing 4 days ago precisely about the lack of coverage in the media. Karoline Leavitt. The internet forced it out. Most white on black crime gets buried. If it was reversed there would be Saint Floyd fiery and mostly peaceful protests all over again. Piss off with this passive aggressive white guilting. The patterns are blacks aren't reported on extensively when it's black on black. Because that fucking happens all the time. White on black is so exceptional people notice. Black on white is more common than most know because it's actively covered up.

Go to /pol/ lads. The murder video will be on there in some form. You have to fucking endure reality sometimes and realise these mental fucks live in every city and town. It's best to stay in as much as possible these days.
>>
Daniel Penny was 24/7 coverage. White guy accidentally chokes out black man. You couldn't get away from that shit. Verdict not guilty. They tried to make out like he was storming through the train ramboing all the blacks. When this utter sambo takes out a white girl for no reason. And says "I got that white girl" (hate crime). And all the other black bastards on the train dont bother their arse paying any mind to it. Crickets. So fuck off with your "patterns" shite in the real world this is the pattern.
>>
>>82494426
I'm only a misogynist because women basically live a life on easy mode and pretend they have it worse than men. They always pick out shit like "we can't feel safe walking alone at night" or "we get harassed at the gym". I'd much rather endure those risks than be some lonely, unwanted, disposable man that is meant to work a shit job or be sent to die in a war.

it's mad how the Sarah Evarard thing quickly changed gears from #ReclaimTheNight toxic masculinity pop feminism, to "oh yeah, it were one of them dodgy coppers."

there are something like 600-800 homicides a year. just checked ONS because i was curious about the year she was murdered
https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/crimeandjustice/articles/homicideinenglandandwales/yearendingmarch2021
https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/crimeandjustice/articles/homicideinenglandandwales/march2022
(it was in March 2021, so fuck knows which year that falls into here)
and it's true that black people get murdered more, and murders happen more in London. generally by other black people.

kept up with BBC London's news stories specifically,
>Sarah Everard
>Sarah Everard
>Sarah Everard
>random black woman murdered
>Sarah Everard
>Sarah Everard

race is in there somewhere, but "pretty" "relatively young" "middle-class" and "from London" make you more important, as far as the news goes.
>>
>>82494445
A black man and some white people did come drag her into the gangway. By that point she had lost so much blood, though. Can't really hear what they say on the video though due to train sounds.
>>
>>82494610
What is your point exactly? All this comes down to is wypipo bad. If you get killed by the police in america, "black" "criminal" "unemployed" "drug addict" makes you more important. Did anybody else die same year as Stephen Lawrence? Your ears prick up when you can twist it against white people because you're anti white, simple as. Or what point are you even making? "The news should just be about blacks killing blacks all day" what?
>>
>>82494670
>'I got that white girl', muttered Decarlos Brown Jr last month, as he walked down the aisle of a train, a bloody knife still in his hand.
Totally just "mental health" though that he chose the one white girl in the train of blacks. Also this fucking happened on the 22nd of August. People are saying it's getting too much coverage. It got none until last week. Shady cunts.
>>
>>82494677
my point is that the news should give more equal weight to murders, particularly the BBC (which is meant to be more impartial and balanced).

newspaper pages, web pages, TV screen-time, these things are measurable, so in a way it is zero-sum. i get it if it's a Raoul Moat situation, but "one bloke killed one women"? yeah, there probably should be more stories dedicated to blacks than whites, if that happens more.

On one of my nightwalks back when supermarkets were open at 1 am, I had to endure an immigrant asking me to call someone. Kept saying I had no phone but he wouldn't go away. >Why would it be impartial? Because they say so?
it isn't, and sort of. a lot of leftists say the BBC is too pro-Tory. i definitely think it's too London-focused, too middle-class, and too progressive rather than conservative (in the Twitter social justice sense).

but the founding principles and Charter, i think those are fairly sound. i just wish there was a better mechanism for holding it to account when it goes against its own standards. in a way where they actually make changes. "we fucked up, we'll stop doing that."

any ideas for a better model, lad?

Its mostly leftists who work there so naturally they hire other leftists and then the content is downstream of that. If you see actual BBC News on the television it is completely bent to the left. Tradition bad men bad immigration good. It is presented in a deliberate way to show some things in a good light others in a bad light. So I wouldn't call it impartial. Im not sure anything can be impartial. Wikipedia cant manage it so I dont see why the bbc would.

i mean if the internet is 'new' media and we want it to be all open, rms-sensei had a solid proposal:
https://stallman.org/articles/internet-sharing-license.old.en.html

tl;dr: levy collected as part of paying your ISP, gets distributed to content creators fairly.

scale it according to the cube root function, means it ramps up quickly then slows down gradually. bit like the BBC licence fee, except it's going to the people who actually make things online, proportionally.
>>
>>82495097
>"The 25 arrests we have made so far is just the start," he added as the Met vowed to identify those involved in disorder.
yeahhh get them all, police! we should give the police MORE powers, they haven't arrested ENOUGH people! (they do support the right to protest btw.)

i mean call me a glass-half-full person but that sounds like a pretty fucking peaceful protest overall if there were 150,000 people. football matches have it worse.

My ex brought her mum over and got full PIP and benefits pretty much instantly. My ex got full benefits and a paid for private tenant house from the local council. Her best friend also has full benefits and child benefits for being unemployed and lives home in bulgaria 6 months at a time, only needing to go through customs at an airport to prove she's entitled to the benefits. She uses this money to house herself and run her small business back home. The mother uses her money to go on holidays and travel back to bulgaria because she hates it here.

Yeah saw it when I worked in a shop, people paying with apple watch too. I've tried paying with phone a few times. It feels really clunky holding a screen up to another screen. It also seems quite temperamental, half the times I tried it simply didn't work so I was standing there rubbing my phone against the machine like a mong. So even in a lost wallet situation I wouldn't depend on it. Natwest bank used to do a thing on their phone app where you generate a code and take out money from an ATM... that is a genuinely good idea, only works on their own ATMs though.

i'm with NatWest and yeah the Get Cash thing is super handy, think it works on Tesco ATMs too. lost my card a few times and god knows what else i could have done ("do you accept PayPal, mate?")

pretty infallible, physical objects. and you can (and should) be able to do what you want with them. same argument i'd make for DVDlad with his kinos.

I have nothing to fear. In fact I welcome it. The AI checks will only affect those who have savings over 6000 pounds and are sending money to suspicious accounts on a regular basis. It will bring benefit fraud to a screeching halt. Your benefits belong to you, you can spend it on what you like. There's people on PIP who have holidays and there's people who spend it on alcohol and hard drugs. Nothing wrong with spending it on video games and GPUs there's thousands doing that.

I swear the whole narrative around Gandhi and Martin Luther King have screwed up people's perceptions of how this works. You don't get what you want from the power structure by just standing around on a street, and making your discontent seen. I'm pretty sure in actuality the Elites were just waiting for an excuse to deconstruct the empire and end segregation, anyway. None of it was helping them to make money in the 20th century. Their interests were elsewhere. The transition of power just had to be presented to the public in a way that seemed agreeable.

Sundays are annoying because the manifest takes ages to come through, usually just after half 8 though, I'm waiting until it comes through, if you just receipt scan you've got to set the ETAs then go through some bullshit long process to get the drop numbers, like scan each one again, press once to go back because you're not in range of the address, then press again on the tracking number for it to show the drop number, then press twice to get back to the main screen before you can scan another, idk why they can't just make another screen to quickly get the drop numbers for stuff that's already on your route, or just send the manifests through faster
>>
Sometimes you don't get a manifest at all if you're covering half a round or something, so the extra screen to quickly get the drop numbers would be best, wouldn't take more than a day, all the code for it would already be there they literally just need to put it together

me? civil service, ridiculous amount of freedom on the job, targets are really low, workstreams run out mid day and the main job for the afternoon which is busy work as everything else runs out isn't even targetted, I sit there in office 3 days a week looking at my stocks, drawing, reading, watching a documentary etc. I can get up whenever, if I take a 30 minute shit no one bats an eyelid, if I take way longer for lunch no one cares, theres a cafe in the building and I'll sometimes go and get a discounted woffee and read until I get bored , can exit the building and do whatever as well. Get flexi time as well which I abuse, rack up the flexi on wfh then use it to fuck off early on the days im actually in. Last friday my day was
>get in at 7, I like an early start
>do 2 hours of actual work
>get some porridge
>watch a stalingrad documentary whilst I eat porridge then chill
>bit of reading
>check my stocks
>piddle about on another work stream whilst listening to a podcast to do with lucy letby
>co workers ask if I want a chinky
>go on then
>''big chicken'' and noodles, was fucking lush
>food coma
>think fuck it I'll get off at 2
>day done

Went to tesco and it was quite busy, in an aisle there was some girl my age and who I presumed was her mum, there were people getting passed her and I walk up to pass by and she turns around then looks visibly frightened, like eye contact and her eyes got wider and her mouth opened. Like damn, I must be deformed as fuck. Not like I creeped up on them, it was busy.

I've got one of those metal bons. Its bolted to the ground and has a scannable barcode on it to act as a signature. They just put the parcel in and then I have to unlock it and remove it. Set it up under the doorbell cam too so i can talk to them. I'm in 24/7 but I'm never awake or cba to open door kek.
>>
Fuck sake. Local news sites activated the swap memory again.
>>
>>82501619
Yeah I thought about this, my job would be so much easier if everyone just had it delivered to some local shop or locker, they can fetch it themselves later, would be a lot more environmentally friendly too. Barely anyone adds a safe place really, it's annoying to figure out where they want it, like I feel awkward trying their porch unless they've put it on, and sometimes people put down shed or something when they haven't even got a shed
>>82501631
Seen a few of these, half the time the parcel doesn't even fit in the box, and that scannable barcode doesn't actually do anything we can't scan a barcode for POD, maybe proper companies can but Evri are too cheap to have good apps

'Winner of the 2012 Philip K. Dick Award

Winner of the 2012 Philip K. Dick Award

Samuil Petrovitch is a survivor.

He survived the nuclear fallout in St. Petersburg and hid in the London Metrozone - the last city in England. He's lived this long because he's a man of rules and logic.

For example, getting involved = a bad idea.

But when he stumbles into a kidnapping in progress, he acts without even thinking. Before he can stop himself, he's saved the daughter of the most dangerous man in London.

And clearly saving the girl = getting involved.

Now, the equation of Petrovitch's life is looking increasingly complex.

Russian mobsters + Yakuza + something called the New Machine Jihad = one dead Petrovitch.

But Petrovitch has a plan - he always has a plan - he's just not sure it's a good one.

I dunno, I've been going through eh Philip K Dick back catalogue and this keeps coming up from people. Written by an Englishman so could be interesting just for that.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/migrants-detected-crossing-the-english-channel-in-small-boats/migrants-detected-crossing-the-english-channel-in-small-boats-last-7-days
maybe they'll think more about net migration and birth rates.

i want the population to go down. i want resources to be distributed more fairly. and yes that means British stuff for Britons first (houses, education, jobs, food, whatever). barring some massive shift, we just can't support this many people.

I don't have a legit version (nor can I be arsed to pirate/get a cheap key), so can't activate it. It came with the PC, I think the shop that built it, had a version they can put on to test things (?), and forgot to remove it? I had windows on my last PC, but it was tied to the motherboard, so when I got a new one, I thought, not paying for something I already have (picrel). I have the same issue with minecraft, I bought it years ago, got the windows version as well as having java, yet now I haven't any login they think I'll buy it again? I may pirate that, as I've paid for 1 copy, but microsoft are wankers, so I'll not buy what I should already have access to.

i agree with you there lad, that is utter wank.
i've DEMANDED laptops without Windows (could be installing Linux, couldn't i?) and gotten the price knocked down. then bought a cheap key for like a tenner so i don't have to faff about with cracks/anything.

i bought Minecraft in the Alpha days before they doubled the price, and the promise was that this would be it: you own the game. Notch even said it would be open source some day (but not under a licence as 'draconian as the GPL', based as fuck).

then all the Microsoft/account switchover/DLC/shite happened. i really wish gamers (and any software-as-service users) didn't tolerate this shite.

I started on Xbox years ago. When my mates son was a kid, I'd play it with him on his xbox, so decided to get it, then moved onto the PC version after a bit. Played modded stuff, but love vanilla and just messing around (redstone is the best thing about it, in my limited knowledge of the game). I've never even made an effort to complete it. Been to the end once with one of the lads on the server that was posted on here years ago.
>>
>>82502021
Those cheap keys are a scam, you're an idiot for buying one, they're just the keys from the stickers on OEM desktops, they're actually likely to be revoked at some point because they're sold multiple times and have limited number of activations. You should just "pirate" it, technically all the "cracks" these days are legit copies of Windows, they either use the HWID tied online activation like a real copy of Windows or use the KMS keys that are literally on the Microsoft website with a KMS server emulator

yeah this is true. the website i bought my Windows and Office keys from said as much. preinstalled keys that were no longer used, and they said if any keys didn't work they'd give you another one. "yeah right, what a con."
nope, both just worked. 100%.

before that, i was doing all the shite with KMS emulation. from that one forum (forgot what it's called). just randomly running a program to reset it on boot every 60 days, or whatever the workaround was. flagged as a virus, stopped working occasionally.

was quite happy to part with a tenner and as far as Microsoft/their servers are concerned, i just have legit OEM Windows. and the CD key site took Bitcoin so i wasn't worried about any card/identity theft scams.

hate how the non-Java edition was tied to Microsoft Store. i uninstalled that shite on day 1. Microsoft, it's too late for you to have a proper package manager, people just want to install things.

with some trickery you can do it in PowerShell anyway. just hate when anything is tied to a specific storefront/launcher (including Steam).
>>
>>82502258
but they might ban your WHOLE ACCOUNT!!! (who knows.)

i've definitely ran games before patching steam_api before, and it's launched Steam. seems like it would be trivial to just detect piracy. wonder if they ever DO care (you can just enable DLCs in Goldberg Emu, what if you 'stole' thousands of pounds of premium content?)
>>
>>82502278
So long as you buy from a reputable company it's fine. Most of the keys are excess from Steam anyway. Steam gives a lot of keys to people to sell them to avoid monopoly shit etc. Also, nothing stopping you buying a key not activating it and selling it. Steam do care about stolen keys but it rarely happens.
Most keys that are too cheap are because someone has stolen a card, bought a key and then are selling it on. That's up to the fraud investigators not Steam to care about. They have still made money and they have a person using their platform.
Just be sensible and use decent companies that have been going a while. Never buy account keys (when you buy a steam account rather than a game key)
Out of my 500+ games like a third are keys. Been on steam since Half Life 2
