Gestures that flow the stream 'neath the banks,
Skin and muscle and secrets,

Mine werent strict actually. They were like "well you're paying mate, if you dont want to get value out of that, thats on you".
The issue for us was lecturers who didnt communicate, were bad teachers, and one who was always fucking late and taught us basically fucking nothing. I am still useless at Networking to this days thanks to some fat cunt being rubbish.
The only time they got strict was I missed a really easy test as I slept through 2 alarms and they were like "no refunds" so I missed out on a top mark. Did well on the other harder tests, but a fat 0 on the baby one.
>>
bit of a shit rapture, hardly anyones been raptured, gunna sleep this one out lads.
>>
>>82604149
I did a bullshit degree in journalism and they kept telling us if we missed 3 lectures or seminars we'd be called in and possibly kicked off the course, but they said it all the time even after I'd already missed well more than 3 so knew it was an empty threat.

Funny you should say you're bad at networking, I'm a network engineer despite my useless degree.

I'm another lad close to 15 years out of uni, still keep up with a few friends and did end up meeting wifeberg there so I generally have favourable memories. Could have easily gone the antisocial route but met a few similar guys and one of them invited me to some gigs and I met some good eggs.
>>
I imagine a modern journalism degree consists of a single lesson on how to post your wildly inaccurate inflammatory views on Facebook.
>>
>>82604204
What does it feel like sleeping next to a woman you love every night?
>>
>>82604204
>Could have easily gone the antisocial route
I was mates with everyone else who was antisocial. It's quite funny, I went like "okay im out of school where I was socially allotted to the losers, time to reinvent myself" and immediately was approached and befriended by all the losers. We saw each other daily, spoke daily, but it was usually playing games or talking over Steam etc. My lot in life is basically "loser nerd who at least isnt obsessed with jizzing on anime girl figures" and I couldn't escape it, my personality is too stuck.
Didn't meet any fucking girls cos there were none and I didn't go out much. Semi-social first year, depression and borderline alcoholism for the next 2.

>Funny you should say you're bad at networking, I'm a network engineer despite my useless degree.
It's always been a weak point of mine despite being a technically competent person. Just my Achilles, and the modules that was meant to fix my knowledge on it made it fucking worse as the lecturer was shit and didnt communicate top the guy who ran the practicals.
Direct quote from the guy in the labs was "he taught you this didn't he?" and everyone just shook their head.

I still had a lot of friends which is weird if you're an autist to achieve but again a lot of them were introverted IT lads who don't message you first so i check up on them myself. awaiting my first compsci job still.

back from the orthostein, turns out I can have treatment as before I asked a dentalberg a while back and he said no my teeth are too mangled but orthostein says different and its not that bad, can be corrected with invisalign type shit so not even the metal braces which are apparently more difficult for the orthodontist to use as it takes up extra space. Dental check and clean up next friday and discussing in depth what will happen, seen some mockups of what my teeth will look like in 12 months and its a mad difference, look almost attractive. Price isn't too bad either.

It's nice, she's warm and smells good and sometimes cuddles me in the night. We usually hold hands and watch TV for a bit or I'll have my hand on her leg. If I'm awake in the night and get up to piss she often half wakes up and asks me where I'm going, when I come back she makes a little satisfied hum noise and tells me she loves me.

>>82604238
I think networking is the type of thing that's very easy to forget if you're not using it all the time, despite having over ten years of experience and being technically senior I'd probably fail an entry level exam because I just don't touch a lot of those technologies day to day.

>>82604280
I've been coming to r9k since the day it was created. It's changed a lot but it's been my home board for like half my life. I sometimes head off for a year or two but tend to come back and britfeel is a good laugh most of the time. Can't really get these sorts of memes and chats from normie instagram. Had a similar discussion with my more socially awkward friends from uni that I still chat to, they ask why I hang out with them when I've got a wider friend group that actually has women in it, and the reason is despite outwardly fitting into regular society I'm still a fucking weird autist misfit inside and it needs to get out.
>>
>>82604280
>What still brings you guys to r9k?
Not him and nor do I have a family but I like to shitpost on the side while I work, or just have a feed of random shit to look at.

Had a similar discussion with my more socially awkward friends from uni that I still chat to, they ask why I hang out with them when I've got a wider friend group that actually has women in it, and the reason is despite outwardly fitting into regular society I'm still a fucking weird autist misfit inside and it needs to get out.

I can't relate enough to this. 4chan will always feel like my spiritual home no matter how much I outwardly mask to others.

ive been doing it years, hardest part is getting up initially. Today will be shoulders and core, it should be shoulders core and legs but ive been doing stair sprints so my legs are sore and if I overwork them I wont be able to move tomorrow, so I'll start with shoulder pressing followed by behind the neck presses for the back of the shoulders then lateral raises which I'll superset then I'll spam weighted leg raises and ab wheel rollouts probably. Thats enough, usually have chest and tris with core, back and bis with core then legs, shoulders and accessories and do 3 on 1 off

>A Leicester man has appeared in court accused of having illegal pornography involving sexual activity between humans and a fish. Connor Smith allegedly had the material on his phone when it was seized by police.
>The 29-year-old appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court last week facing one charge of possessing extreme pornography. The court heard the suspected material involved a man, a woman and a fish.
>Smith was charged with possessing an extreme pornographic image portraying an act of intercourse with an animal on February 5, 2023. The charge states the image was "grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character" and that a reasonable person would think the subjects were real.

Never use biometrics. Always use a password on iPhone, not a PIN. Don't give them anything. If they request you disclose it during custody, they do not have the legal power to do so at that stage. There is no obligation to discoose anything unless it is a serious crime covered by the key disclosure act. So many normies just use their DOB as a PIN. That's the first thing they try.

If you use 4chan a lot on your phone you'll have thousands of thumbnails in the cache. They could find something "obscene" and use that if they arrested you for something else that won't stick. It's best to use a browser profile just for 4chan and turn off the disk cache (only memory). Not sure if you can do that on mobile Firefox but it's basically private browsing whilst maintaining history still.

>>
>>82605476
Yeah if the crime falls under that act. Someone just saying you were recording them and they felt alarmed isn't going to meet the criteria. You either admit guilt, get your reputation ruined or get given a NFA after putting up with their intimidation tactics in custody. Even the duty solicitor can be useless and say just say guilty and accept a caution like it's no big deal. Never go by their word if you are of course innocent.

How would you know? Also funny wording before "different world" you could quite easily say the UK now is a different world/country than the early 90s alone when it was 95% white. You know the golden era everybody wants back. All the good things people associate with Britain are from those days not now. People want the old Britain nobody likes the yookay. We are a joke now.
Obviously compared to whatever shithole raghead country you're from the UK is still better even in its current state but you're not judging it by the standards of a native who lived in or has parents who lived in much better times which weren't even that long ago. As recently as 1991 was 95% white. Even in 2001 it was 90%. So it has dropped by 15% in 30 odd years. Thats pretty astonishing desu. And now we live in this shithole joke era. Or what, do you think the country was struggling before you got here and saved it? Lol. Obviously your idea of collapse isn't the same as ours. Make sense?
>>
Honestly weird af how some foreigner thinks he can explain how the country works because Tony Blair ticking a box means he lives here now. I am not that bothered about muslims specifically per se but they are the second least popular ethnic group in the UK only higher than gypsies and its not hard to see why, they all have that shitty obnoxious attitude.
>>
Ok will they take me to my secret spot miles away for something so petty? I don't think so. Whether or not they believe it is another thing. End of the day, they are not going to waste resources on some cunt that got upset about me taking photos and videos in public. They can look at the cctv, which they often show me in custody (oh wow...and what is the crime officer?) and say shit like "isn't that unusual to you?" but end of the day unusual is not a crime. They just hope you'll break and get their abysmal statistics up. They give me new hire young cunt detective because the experienced ones know that would be a loss on their annual statistics. Hahaha.

Carers really don't give a shit what you're up to mate, unless you're doing something that's actively dangerous in front of them they won't tell anyone, other than chat about it with their colleagues.

Wifeberg used to be in care, worked her way up to management before realising how bullshit it was and packing it in to do something else. She'd tell me about places that stank of weed, places where drug dealers used it as a base of operations and just sat around smoking weed all day, and also had some fun stories about having to facilitate getting prozzies in for the old men. You're basically cool to do whatever you want. Don't try to get the carers to jerk you off though, they'll definitely report you for that (yeah that happened too).

ooo aye.

i don't doubt Pagan Anarchist Thomas Sheridan's credentials in the fields of Alternative Folklore and Monomythology, but he goes off the mark a bit. as a fad it is absolutely a Gen Z meme. but sterile, empty environments being a bit spooky? yeah that's universal.

he says the feeling was different before 9/11 to after, but is that not simply BECAUSE all these shopping centres were less abandoned? but the design/psychology/pop culture is interesting. doesn't need global consciousness magic, IMO.

i mean if there's 'meaning' to any of this, yeah, places have absolutely gotten worse. but also that happens every generation right, e.g. it's a whole horror cliche that some town has the old, abandoned fair, from back in the good old days. definitely a bit magical/spooky exploring them when you're young.

but yeah that's great because
>technically sometimes better than what (You) personally could be streaming
iPlayer is so bad for this one. can't just force it to display in 1080p. and for years the thing was, it would only give HD streams to PlayStation consoles, or some weirdness. but obviously open-source nerds came up with ways to just grab the damn file. how long until that becomes normal? "here, you know what, just download our DRM-free .mkv. play it however you want. but pls stay subscribed." i'd actually pay for this.

anyway, actual cinemas are the best monetary option. go watch classic films on a big screen.

actually quite glad the 2005 Doctor Who episodes on iPlayer are SD.
the Blu-rays have this horrible tinny sound, and if they flubbed THIS on-screen credit, what else have they changed?

same shit as the original Red Dwarf (music/effects/laugh track intact), Star Trek TOS with the 60s effects, Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 4:3. just give us how it was in the best quality, perhaps with cut/censored scenes restored. don't add or change anything.

Coooorrrrrr, 2001 was a fucking incredible film. I went to a screening of it at a proper cinema a few years ago and it really is unbelievably good. I know it's cliche to say at this point, but holy fuck modern movies are, by and large, just fucking so bad compared to the actual art produced back in the day.

Who knows? But the Afghan resettlement scheme that was purposefully kept from public knowledge and so flagrantly ridiculous and unnecessary that hundreds of people on the scheme already have returned home for little holidays even though it was purportedly about their safety, has cost more than both our aircraft carrier combined.

The upshot of this sort of news is that there's effectively no constraint on government which is meaningful. Public opinion is irrelevant. There's little real difference between parties anyway. The media, when not utterly compliant/complicit can just be gagged. Money's no object when it's a thing that the power elite genuinely wishes. The books can be cooked and cans can be kicked. There are plenty of institutions, not to mention custom and tradition, that ought to prevent this happening because it's so nationally alien and wrong. But none of them work.

There's some dodgy cunts about online too. I spent ages torrenting Diagnosis Murder, the screenshots looked fine then they turned out to be terrible VHS rips from someone's telly, almost unwatchable. That's when I just imported the DVDs and decided to just expand my physical collection. A lot of the obscure shows I used to have on my Plex server I now have physically in better quality than I could find on public trackers. Even when I found DVDrips of some older films, they were usually compressed to shit.
I only really torrent anime and manga now, mostly because Nyaa is pretty reliable and has decent stuff you can't find on Crunchyroll. Don't buy physical media anime much, it always seems to be overpriced.

>I'm generally a fan of James Gunn. Slither is one of my favourite films.
yeah Slither was fun. and i quite liked Super. i'm guessing those were 'his' films he had control over, but god knows how the big superhero films work.

i mean Superman (1978) was a fresh new adaptation in a way. very aware it's a silly quaint old 1930s idea. now it's the 70s, with characters going on about rapists and serial killers, everything is sex and violence, but then oh my gosh it's that jolly old chap Superman.

if Supergirl is a good film, great! but the comic book weirdos go on about it being an adaptation of Blahblah's 90s run on All-Star Kryptonians with elements of So-And-So's Silver Age take on Sara-El and I DON'T GIVE A FUCK

Bunch of rich toffs of personal relation had a fun time trading spices and cotton a few hundred years ago, and so now poor people have to get stabbed and raped, and generally see their quality of life go down hill, and their culture get spat on, forever.
This is your fault, remember. Not Rupert and Emilia whose family actually owned slaves, but it's not proper to talk about that anymore! They give to charity. They love ethnic food! No my time is coming to the end, body is broken, but I can make my mind stronger. It's not about me now. I need to test some things and see what happens.
I love this, but it is somewhat mental at times. I had a come to god moment last year. Got high af and went to lay down, but going up the stairs was like climbing a mountain, Laid down and had 2 voices in my head. 1 was disappointed, but not bad, but I was wary, then a nice one came and said everything will be alright. I've talked to an intelligent fren, who says it's just in the mind. But I felt it, that was real. I asked the universe for something to believe in, and I was given it. There's something out there, I know this now. I got the gift of belief. I love it. Now it's time to move forward on my journey, don't stick in the moment of recognition. That's great, but there is more, I fell.
Love is a powerful emotion. IMO there are 2 parent emotions, that spawn other emotions. The 2 parents are LOVE and HATE. I'm choosing love.

i think if you have family over here, it's pretty reasonable.

my knowledge is hazy/dated but even before this recent wave of hotels and all that, the system on paper isn't that bad. it's just so fucking slow. i mean the hotels are 'dispersal', right? meant to be a short-term solution while a claim is processed. and the detention centres are <72 hours in other countries, can be months/years here.

really just think it's a lose/lose except for the companies getting these contracts. might be a better life in the UK rather than where you're coming from, but on our side of things, we have our own problems. all migration could drop to 0, that'd still be the case ;_;

My mum is of Anglo-Indian descent, I have 20% Asian blood (5% Pakistani).

She taught me the p-slur quite young, around secondary school. She would refer to deodorant use as a p(slur)-shower, etc.

When I was in primary school, around year 3 (this I know as I remember the ethnically Japanese child), she taught me the slanted eyes joke, which of course I would go on to use on the Japanese kid.

She would repeat this joke about about disabled children slamming ice cream against their heads, probably using the r-word (though I can't remember exactly).

Essentially, I was bully baited continuously and blatantly taught to be xenophobic by her.

About 10 years ago, I remember slapping (not incredibly hard) my families dog when it barked a few times. I've struggled with guilt over this for many years (haven't been around that dog frequently for a long time), especially when I see that old girl (referring to the dog). However I was absolutely shocked to see my mum slap (not incredibly hard) her new lap dog. I told her not to do this and she gave some shitty justification.

Recently (within 1-2 years), I've heard her use the n-word, something I've done in the past due to my principle of free speech but learned is wrong.

I've seen the total disregard she has when "caring" for a dementia patient. Honestly, I wouldn't say it was abuse (outright or neglect) but more so the condescending attitude. In the sense she thought the women was really stupid or something, idk.

I really don't like my mother, I would go so far to say I hate her. However all my siblings are close to her and most certainly will defend her any day over me.

I could go on and on about the various ways she fucked me over but I doubt anyone cares.

blegh

Yes, I'm trauma dumping as my C-PTSD was triggered by your use of the p-slur, sorry.

No thank you, they scare me. The NHS and the psychiatrists/social workers they employ constantly imply that I'm a danger to myself and others, that I need to take heavy amounts of various pharmaceutical medication (I really don't) and that sectioning is not far off in my future.

It's all a bit intimidating for me to be around these health professionals when I don't feel like they create a safe space for me to open up. Especially when they seem to be in close contact with my mum, who I now see as a historic abuser.

They seem to gaslight me, micro-agress and don't seem to understand who I am as an individual at all.

I've taught myself a lot of psychology to help myself.

I'm actually a really empathic and intelligent person, quite peaceful and happy. In another timeline, I feel things could have been different. It's too late for me now, I'm just trying to survive rather than thrive at this point.
