Holy shit this site is deadI checked /soc/ for the Canada thread as I am Canadian. It was made January 28th, it's still up getting posts slow as hellI made a thread on /cgl/ 2 months ago that is still upI need to find a more active site this community is on fucking life support. The only innovation and experimentation is in the captchas
>>83973447>I made a thread on /cgl/ 2 months ago that is still upSex with OP O_O
>>83973447yeah /soc/ threads have been on the decline for years and frequently last months which is a good thing because everyone who posts on that board deserves to die in nuclear hellfire
>>83973447/soc/ is dead as fuck because it's all just gay men now
>>83973454>>>/cgl/10756184
>>83973489That post is from 4 years ago, the OP is probably dead
>>83973464Where are we sitting boys?
>>83973447I know and I got fucking perma banned from reddit and twitter. Twitter was my bad but reddit was a retarded technical thing which I guess was also my bad.
>>83973570How did you get started on Reddit?I lurked on that site but never wanted to post.
>>83973581>get started on RedditIt's kind of hard, honestly. All the big subs are garbage and a lot of subs won't even let you post unless you have a certain amount of karma. But there's a lot of smaller niche subs you can find that aren't too bad. Finding them is the hard part though. But if you interact with posts you like that pop up on your feed, eventually you should get recommended places you'll like.
>>83973447It's couple of factors:>1)Gen-A can't handle how edgy it is They're very sheltered (even relative to how gen-z), and 4chan depends on teenagers to keep it alive.>2)to many third worlders(immigrants)They bring in a desprate obsessive hatred of the west (and even Japan), ranging from crude BBC/cuck posts, to endless demoralization attempts while boasting of the greatness of the 2nd/3rd world which gets tedius. >3)angry boomers over 40yoThey're basically refugees from other social media. These people are "get off my lawn" types, that have no wisdom & nothing to teach, they're just miserable curmudgeons that drain the life from threads/boards.>4)To many LLM postsAny "serious" discussion will turn into texts generated by LLMs by tards trying to look smart.>5)Glowie honey potsI mean I've literally seen posts encouraging shooting up substations that mysterious don't get deleted. It makes people suspicious of each other.>6)DiscordPeople naturally gravitate to a single thread (if they have any hobbies they actually like) which leads to discord.
>>83973679I think there's a problem with this site where one person puts a more thought out reply nobody else cares enough to reply and then the thread dies.
>>83973679I think the main thing is just all the other options young people have now and how much if a pain in the ass 4chan is to use nowadays. Like you said there's discord but there's also reddit, twitter, instagram, even facebook and a bunch of smaller social media sites. Which are all easier and quicker to use with more features. I can't even post a video with sound here. 4chan is just kind of a relic of the internet. There's nothing worthwhile here for anyone young.
>>83973447m00t killed /soc/ like 15 years ago anon
>>83973736What about old people moving around?Like people in their 40s who used to post on Something Awful now posting on 4chan and something awful as both sites slow down to double dip on the shrinking communities
>>83973447Kids don't like image boards. They want twitter or discord. This place was novel in the early 2000s when forums were clunky and had avatars and signatures. As people leave 4chan, they aren't getting replaced. Over time this will just be a dead relic like posting to Something Awful or FARK.
>>83973679>I mean I've literally seen posts encouraging shooting up substations that mysterious don't get deleted. All of those were me.
