aye that's what i'm wondering, if it's as simple as it's just not clunking on. there's usually a big clunk sound when it switches to night rates. forget what time it is (either 11, 12, or 1 - clocks jumped around recently, didn't they?)

been down to check the meter last night and it wasn't going up at all. but that could be because it's not being used for some other reason (only things on = fridge, oven clock, router, PC).

might go down at say 1:30am, take a photo, then go down an hour later and take another one.

The trans stuff is reprehensible. It really is a social contagion and people really do get radicalised by the internet.

I mean, that should be obvious by the fact it didn't exist at all and then suddenly was everywhere in the space of 10 years.

People interact with small weird communities of people from all over the world on the internet. Such a situation would never have been possible before the internet. You wouldn't have found another person that was thinking of wearing women's clothes and who thought they were the wrong gender if you spoke to people at work or at the pub.

But on the internet you get people radicalising each other, reinforcing it, and goading each other into taking hormones, and the autogynephilic fantasies that relate to it. Streaming porn plays a big role in how people's perceptions get warped into trooning out.

I know a lot about it because I know multiple people IRL (family members and former friends) who have gone from being completely normal people to insisting they've always been trans. Including people in their 50s. After trooning out, especially post op, they usually try to commit suicide, after they realise it was a lie, and they had a perfectly good functioning body before, and now they mutilated it and hate themselves. They know they got tricked but also feel immense conflict about it because it's like a religion and they don't want to betray the trans community by admitting how they fucked themselves.

I can't believe governments, media etc and even the NHS allow and even encourage this, and push it onto kids. What a sick world.

because when i was a bairn myself, father and i went to the carpet shop and the bloke was trying to come up with an estimate to carpet our stairs + landing. my dad knew the rough area of the landing, no problem, but when the bloke said, 'and how many steps on the stairs?' he didn't know.
that's when attention turned to me. 'you lad, you ever counted the steps? daft little game? sort of thing young'uns do!'
it wasn't a game i'd played. i thought about guessing a number but i had no idea, could have been 10, could have been 15. all i could say is that i didn't know.

still remember the look in my dad's eyes as he drive us home in silence without an accurate estimate. all i had to do was be a pedometer and count the steps a single time, but i let him down. i let my whole family down.
>>
The Labour government has pushed through a house building project that was rejected 5 times because of how retarded it was. But they just said "do it anyway".

So now there's this building site in a nature reserve near where I live, and what I find interesting about it is how they cut up the earth and dig down so deep. Right now it looks like they're intending on building the road 1.5 metres below the ground level, but surely not? I guess they're excavating to install pipework, ducts for wiring etc. And then there will be concrete poured and the road put in above.
>>
>>84473969
I know how many steps were in my childhood home when I was 6. And I know how many steps were in every home I've ever lived in since, and random places I've visited. I am autistic though. I always count the steps when going upstairs, the number of steps has always been important to me.

I've basically always been a numbers person.
Didn't know I was autistic as a kid, I was just weird and quiet and spent most of my time alone, which my parents were fine with. Once they gave me a computer I didn't need parenting.

My dad used me as a memory bank. I was basically like an early ChatGPT for him. He would bring me 8 year old me along to the hardware store, PC shop, car salesman, everything he did so he could ask "what was the model number of fridge we have", "what's the number plate of mum's car". I still remember being in Mr Robot style PC repair shops in the 1990s and my dad didn't know the answer to what piece of hardware or software we had, and he would just ask me, and I would recite it to him.

I thought that was the job of all kids because adults couldn't remember things, and that was just normal. I was extremely naive as a kid. It took me decades to realise that other kids had a completely different life and I was weird.
>>
>>84474120
Basically nothing. I'm fucking mental. I was hoping someone would help me find a job, but I'm severely limited because I'm afraid of everything. My fight or flight response activates when I have to fill in forms. I can't be a cleaner because I'm afraid I'll accidentally poison myself with chemicals.

If that really happens then you need help. Your physical and mental reaction to anxiety are linked, and you can learn to stop it with therapy, breathing exercises, mindfulness.

There is also medication to prevent such anxiety.
>>
>>84474173
you probably have untreated mental trauma.
i'm sure you understand this, but the reality is you'll have to work on expanding your comfort zone gradually until you can function again.

I don't like being around dust, because I feel like it'll get in my lungs.

>>84474208
Yeah, I think ending school all of those years ago kind of fucked me up. Everything was normal, and then suddenly there was all of this paperwork in my face, and everyone was getting in my face about having my whole life worked out, and my parents were screaming at me about colleges. Every time since then, when someone comes at me with some kind of official looking documentation, I start to shut down.
>>

I honestly don't believe UBI will ever come into place if it does it will be the very last option after a complete societal collapse if not we will just starve to death in the streets. people were happy when those healthcare and housing trust-fund ceo's got capped in america yet the handful of billionaires driving AI can't seem to grasp the powder keg they're building under themselves.
>>84474230
same here.
the human will to survive ensures most people won't just lay down and starve to death, especially not when they see other people getting what they need by force.
its a really scary situation.
i just feel sorry for anyone born 1990 or after, everything is so stacked against any working class person nowadays.

as the other anon has said, you can manifest physical illness when your mental is shot.
i lost so much weight and hair from not being able to chill out when i was in my early 20's stressing how i'd fucked my life up and should've just died there and then.
all you can do is focus on what you can control, try and remember that and in those moments where your calm / rational mind kicks in, try and get small things done.
anecdotally, i joined a boxing gym at my lowest point to force myself out into the world, even the smallest acts to get out of your head can help more than you realise.

>>84474237
Your picture just reminded me. In the 1990s when I was at primary school, they banned the TMNT movie.

You might be wondering "but how can a school ban a movie". Well, they basically said nobody at the school was allowed to watch it. So nobody did. It really was a different time. I still haven't seen it. There was a lad admitted to seeing it and he got expelled.

You might also be wondering why a children's movie designed for children and rated PG would be banned. Well, it was because of the word "ninja". Female teachers thought it was violent.

Kind of funny to think about now. I grew up in a 99% white English town, with no crime. Nowadays, we have stabbings almost every day now from an imported population that were not here when I was a kid, and we aren't allowed to discuss it. The same kind of female teacher would now be criticising a kid for being racist if he doesn't want to be stabbed.
>>
>>84474285
My brother in Christ this sounds like a hate crime
>>
>>84474250
it's more like I burn myself slightly, and then spend the rest of the day worrying the wound will get infected, and I'll lose a limb. That one happens to me too.
>>
>>84474295
Oh also, they renamed the TV show to "Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles" because "ninja" was too violent and implied knife crime.

Again, completely insane to thing about how sensitive they were to knife crime in the 90s where now it's completely accepted because the alternative is to be racist to the people doing the crime.
>>
>>84474276
I don't think there's anywhere to even go. My last counselor found an autism group, but the problem is it was in the next town over, and I don't feel comfortable going that far.
>>
>>84474295
Yeah here in the UK we had to call them teenage mutant HERO turtles because Tory cunts thought the word NINJA was too violent and extreme. Even the orange one who has the nunchucks got censored as well but a katana and a ninja sai is perfectly ok.
>>
>>84474317
I think it was lowkey xenophobia on the part of oldies who were worried about "that Ninja stuff" coming from over seas.
You'll notice they never censored imagery of knights or Robin Hood. Even the Hammer Horror films were more or less allowed to exist, with a bit of grumbling. They didn't like those Italian films though... They didn't like that Straw Dogs. American films? THAT is going too far...
>>
>>84474262
i dunno, everyone says, "people won't just sit around and do nothing."
but IMO we're actually very good at that. everyone protested against that anti-protest bill until the sun went away.
>>
https://youtu.be/iWcamYEYvWY
>>
>>84474334
Yeah it didn't make sense. Ninjas were basically the Japanese equivalent of our swords and knight mythology, of which there was a lot, and was seen as wholesome. Many a young lad ran around with a wooden sword pretending he was a knight.

>They didn't like those Italian films though
To be fair, there were some dodgy films coming out of Italy in the 70s and 80s. Fine to watch now of course, because we're desensitised, but you basically had directors doing a lot of gore and nasty stuff, to the point where some of those directors were accused of creating snuff films and actually killing the actors.

There was a fear of "video nasties" where you'd pick them up in a bin, or friends sharing snuff movies.

As recently as this year I saw some idiot blaming video games for someone killing someone. Funny how 99% of video game players don't kill anyone, and it's the biggest industry, 500+ billion. There are very good patterns for who is doing most of the violent crimes but those get ignored, to the point where they're released from prison repeatedly to commit crimes again multiple times.
>>
>>84474317
>>84474325
>>84474334
for some reason i always assumed it was overzealous concerns about racism. e.g. you toss a Japanese word in there, maybe kids will start saying it funny, oh no!

besides the title/theme tune, could they actually edit the animation or dialogue at all? they DO reference death if 'ninja' means 'killer' or some shite. the very first episode, one of the Turtles asks April who these guys are, trying to k*ll them (that's right, they use the k-word).

that Avatar: The Last Airbender was retitled here too, because they didn't want a show about benders.
>>

I notice women now seem to be really particular about what games they let their kids play, and I bet they've been psyopped hard into thinking all of that knife crime is because of the Call of Duties.
The tragedy, is they let the kids on the Roblox, which is a nonce hotspot, and a platform designed to get the kids hooked on gambling. That's the last place they ought to be. They just look and go "oh, happy shapes and colours. That must be fine".

>>

>>
>>84474421
I don't think it was a conspiracy. What conspiracy do you think it was?

My theory is it was just boomer men didn't want their wife to find their porn magazine when cleaning the house, so they would stash it somewhere that they knew they could find it, like a particular bush in a park.

But since it was a public place, teen lads would find it and then all be amazed at the first time seeing a nude lady.

Realistically, it was probably just someone having a quick one, and then throwing the thing away in shame.
Why they would do it in a bush though, I dunno.

try and look for absolutely anything.
most towns have at least a few clubs / activities to do, even if its just old pensioners doing them.
i really do understand how overwhelming it feels sometimes when you close yourself off to the world and other people for so long.
i chose boxing because i always wanted to be calmer around people and its effectively dropping yourself in the deep end at that point, if you can punch and get punched by someone, you can look them in the eye and talk to them.
recovery is gradual, it takes a lot of time and patience with yourself, just make whatever small changes you CAN and ignore that feeling of "i need to do everything NOW" that can sneak up on you.
the government can be shit at helping witj mental health issues, unfortunately the honus will be on YOU most the time and only you can know what it is you need to do to make yourself feel better in the long run.

there was a video doing the rounds when he was on a bit of a hiatus (think he had a disabled son or something). some twat just following him and his family around Asda filming, asking him to say his catchphrases.

not rite IMO.

suppose it was ever thus. cartoons still do 'the Peter Lorre voice' so i wonder if we'll still be hearing Schwarzenegger impressions decades after his death.

but i miss the womfiness of Britain having its own internal pop culture, as i'm sure every country did. no American or Swede or Chinaman could ever care who wins Pop Idol or that someone did a Terry Wogan impression, but it meant something to us ;__;

Don't agree with the music is boring lad. For me it's films are boring. Sitting in place to watch what is basically a 2-3 hour youtube video where people pretend play act out fake scenarios. Just why.
There's been films I liked as a kid etc but at this point physically sitting down for 2 hours in one place to watch a film pisses me off that would piss me off.
It would be like the clockwork orange thing (never seen it) every film is like that gif you see with his eyes pulled back. Every film is like that. I'm not sitting down for 2 hours to watch fake pretend acting for what?? I dont want to just sit for 2 hours. I get restless I want to get up and do things, pace around listening to music doing housework like I can't just sit like a vegetable for 2 hours. It pisses me off.

I was talking with one of the guys about bell ringing, and how there's not many youngsters coming through to help. I said I'd love to give it a try. Going to go on thursday, but might not be able to do much, depends how much energy it takes (got MS and get tired easily), but looking forward to this.

once lived on a street where the houses skipped numbers at random, they'd largely been split into A/B/C flats etc.
Amazon said they'd delivered my graphics card to the next number down. but there wasn't a next number down. there i was living at 48B looking for a 47 that didn't exist.

it WAS next door, ish, if you skipped a couple of flats, so i see how the driver decided to just subtract 1. but there it was just in someone's porch window, graphics card in the box with a sticker on it (no Amazon box/parcel).

luckily it was actually a nice old lady who believed it was mine, but anyone could have claimed that. or she could have just kept it. mad.
